Lovely food & lovely staff. Had a great night at the meatloaf tribute was a brilliant atmosphere. We were made to feel very welcome and like nothing was too much to ask. Our food was cooked perfectly with a reasonable wait time as expected. Bar staff were amazing at serving a full pub with minimal queuing. Overall had a great evening and will be visiting again.

Always a solid option. Interior is spacious and never feels as if you have to fight for space during crowded evenings. Go in during the week as they have daily deals which makes for a nice, inexpensive meal for two. Even without the deals, the menu is reasonably priced and the quality is quite good for the price. Shame they haven't had any fish for several months now. As for drinks, the price is alright but can start getting steep when you add in mixers with your spirits. It's better to opt for the premade cocktails and hope that the pitcher isn't filled mostly with ice.

Bar staff extremely friendly ordered food and drinks for family of 4 food came about 5 minutes apart order was wrong with first 2 instead of taking plates back brought missing food in a dish for 2 of them then other 2 food orders came food missing from them by this time had enough so didn't even complain about other 2 plates. Live locally, been a million times over the last 30 years and it's changed hands countless times, however the food has always remained recent. Somewhat ruined by the amount of riff-raff that dwell in there sometimes

Ordering food and drinks via the GreenKings app was very easy to do, although the drinks took 15 minutes to arrive (3 x soft drinks). Food is a little on the expensive side but very tasty. Only gave 3 stars because the toilets were awful; 3 with no locks, 1 with no door and the one I ended up in had the loo roll pushed into the dispenser so you couldn't get it - toilet check on wall was initialled though 10 mins before to show the toilets had been inspected.

The Hunters chicken & chips were delicious, the staff very friendly & helpful. But the ladies toilets were awful, no locks on some doors and the wc pans were very badly stained, they need renewing as I don't think any cleaner would touch them 😏😞.

Well what can I say about the goose, the members of team are always very attentive to every detail when it comes to providing the best for everyone the food is phenomenal I've had pub food before but bye heck this is the best, but the most important thing about the pub that I've witnessed anyway is the entertainment that is provided always booking in for the tribute acts and especially sport I can see why they are the home of pub Sport would definitely recommend to anyone

Some items include lighter versions from the menu selection which are calorie counted. Soft drinks and alcohol drinks are served on the premises along with the option of tea and coffee.. Ideal for family dining within a pub atmosphere with easy access for disabled guest.

Would like to say a big thank you to the staff at the whistling goose for last night. The staff was brilliant especially Holly the senior manager all of those that worked last night gave an excellent service. We was not waiting long from start to finish all of the staff took care of us from the moment we sat down until leaving. Wait time to be served was fast, receiving or meals and drinks where also fast. Even the deserts after. We was not waiting no longer than 10 mins in between to be served. The food was spot on everything cooked perfectly, presentation was great. The deserts where to die for. All in all we had a fantastic evening out, awe was a party of 5 so you can imagine the order being quite bug. Everyone including the children really enjoyed them selves. So thank you very much for a great evening. We will definitely be returning. X

Went for lunch today. My partner had gammon and he said it was the best he's had. I had the beef lasagne and although was very tasty was a little overcooked as was the garlic bread which was slightly burnt and made it very very crispy. Will definitely go again and try something different on the menu as the cost is very reasonable.

To start with WOW! Absolutely gorgeous food, staff were so polite and made sure we had everything we needed and was ok. Not 1 fault to be found, both myself and partner had the XL sizzling grills and the meats were cooked to absolute perfection where they just melted off your fork. 5* rating, will be back very soon!

It was my first time out for food since covid restrictions as member of my family has been shielding. I was very apprehensive about it but was soon put at ease when I saw their precautions in place to ensure minimum contact and social distancing. The food was amazing too btw. Fantastic place to eat - would recommend to others: they follow covid rules 😷 to the letter👍, friendly staff👨‍🍳, food was lovely🙂👍 (including mixed grill 🥩🍳which some pubs fail at). The only reason I have placed 4 starts 🌟🌟🌟🌟 and not five is because the sausage on the mixed grill was extreamy cheap quality and it made me feel weird eating it had to leave it and my husband had allergies to the food, which means they have bought products with either maltodextrin, maltodextrose, dextrose, dextrin, MSG or the E-Number for MSG which I can't remember. Either way it means the food they provide has added extras and is a problem for us unfortunately 😞 we would go back despite this and my husband would too. Overall would recommend to others👍 but anyone with the same sensitivity/allergy just be careful what you order and have your pirtion at the ready. 😞

I had mixed grill,the chicken steak and sausage were excellent however the gammon donor had obviously returned from an extended holiday bathing in the Dead Sea it was so salty 🤣.The only other mishap was to have been plagued by a kamakazi fly, wasn't sure if it was the restaurant pet or part of the air conditioning. Many attempts at catching or discouraging the little blighter were in vain, it was so agile and acrobatic it would have been awarded pole position in the next Red Bull Air Race. All in all would recommend this establishment if only for the in house entertainment 😂

We love going to Whistling Goose. The challenge meals are brilliant. Even if you can't beat the challenge, you can be sure you have had your money's worth. Great value. Never had a bad experience here. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Got a parking fine a few months back because I didn't see the signs or meter but the staff were very helpful and I managed to avoid the fine. The parking meters have gone now. Free to park. Well you did get it refunded anyways if you were an actual customer. Just been refurbed ~ looks ace 😊

Went hear after opening with new rules, to our surprise when u walked in the lady asked us to sanatise, there was a hand held spray and a roll of toilet roll to dry Yr hands, what me and my daughter found strange. Arrived on an admittedly busy Saturday evening around 6:15. We quickly found out own table (party of two) and decided what we were going to order. We then had to queue for about 20 mins before we could place our order - very poor, there were simply not enough bar staff to cope with the demand. However, our meals did arrive within 20 mins or so after ordering. The food quality wasn't bad, but not fantastic either - my hunters chicken was a bit overdone and the portion size was smaller than I would expect. My wife's half rack of ribs was excellent though, with the tender meat falling off the bone, and a nice coleslaw and sides to accompany it. Price was a bit more than I expected, given that I had a 40% off mains voucher - a little over £20 for two mains, one side dish and two drinks (large wine and large coke). I could easily get the same quality of meal for a few quid less on at a 2 4 1 pub. Overall, we'll only go again if we get another voucher.

The food here is amazing and fairly priced. On my most recent visit, it was England's match against Sweden so we expected a wait for food. We were told it would be about 45 minute to wait, but we didn't mind. The atmosphere was great and our food arrived after less than 15 minutes!!

Great pub and friendly staff. Usually busy at peak times but it is a large pub so plenty of room. Menus vary from traditional pub meals to the grilled challenges. Plenty of parking but traffic is bad around that area at rush hour, good place to stop while it dies down. It's close to other amenities like b&M and also a new lidl store is on opposite corner so ideal for a rest after a bit of shopping

Depends what you get, I find the steak always bad from here as it's never done how I want it (usually raw in the middle and charred to death on outside, also full of fat and gristle). The burgers are good though and not bad pricing.

Always have a soft spot for whistling goose, I had my first date here with my fiancé, and we're getting married this year. The food is always perfectly cooked how we ask and it has never disappointed us. Service is nice and fast and if there is ever a delay we are always told so we're not just sitting there wondering where our food is. Prices are beyond reasonable, you get more than your moneys worth and they always do deals and add to the menu.

The food is amazing and the staff is so friendly.. reasonably priced and have challenges too :) the last time we went was a couple of months ago and my partner just completed a challenge and we ordered for desserts 10 mins later.. half an hour had passed and had no desserts(it wasnt an issue as we only finished our food not long ago and ordered straight after) but the main lady who served us she couldn't apologise enough as she thought the waiter had already gave our desserts but he never and she gave us the money back for them.. wasnt expecting that at all it was very generous but a little hiccup like that will never put us off :)

The only drawback is the Sunday roast, would be so much better if they did roast beef or pork rather than chicken breast, steak or lamb cutlet. But there is a carvery nearby so probably why.
