D. N.A true hidden gem, a true historic pub in hull's Old Town, very cosy with its open fire, traditional ales and spirits, no Internet, no music, no swearing. A great pub to visit and to meet up with friends and family. Spoil yourself and pop in for a pint or two
D. R.A proper boozer in the heart of the city - an oasis of calm at the end of an alley. Look for the big blue bell! No music, a friendly welcome to everyone and reasonably priced drinks. NB Sam Smiths insist on cash only, no swearing and no mobile use.
A.Love it, Carl is a great host. Loving the darts and pool, a must visit on our weekend out outs!

M.Quirky olde world pub, not to everyone's taste and although the old-world theme is part of the style there's a lot of places in the pub that are actually in need of repair and replacing which ruins the otherwise quaint charm of the place and makes it seem ran down. House drinks which are cheap but also limited menu which is standard for Sam Smith pubs, but could be a surprise to anyone wondering in on an evening out!

P.A no-nonsense boozer, and one of my favourite pubs in Hull. Cheap quality ale in a chilled environment. Ideal whether you want to socialise or be left alone.
It is a Samuel's pub, so there is a no electronics or swearing rule—as long as it's not excessive of disrupting others, I think you're ok. Just don't take the mickey.
D. S.Digital free zone, no phones ect. Brilliant for conversation and just enjoying a real beer without the world in your hand taking you away from your daily rat race
p. s.This pub is a place where you come inside as strangers and leave with friends. The lady behind the bar could not be any nicer unfortunately I didn’t get her name. Quality drinks at great prices . They even arranged a taxi for us. My wife had was still recovering from a broken leg and on crutches and I had recently had major surgery on my spine and they helped us a lot . Thank you guys.

G.I have drank in this pub for years always very friendly and it went without saying best beer in the town unfortunately we are told we have to drink what the owner says puts prices up ok but then takes out the best selling beer I think he needs to get a life or retire . Fom one millionaire to another get it sorted!!!

J. S.Samuel Smith's pub. This pub sells Sam Smith's beverages and snacks only, if you're looking for other drinks (carling, JD, Gordon's etc) you will be disappointed. I personally love the Sam Smith's drinks, well worth a try. Working man's pub, no music/tvs/entertainment, just cheap drinks and an interesting group of regulars.
