Reviews of Isaacs On The Quay
A. E.
Lovely fish and chips. My husband enjoyed his burger. It took half an hour for the food to come after we had ordered but we were enjoying the sunshine. Our only issue was we would of liked another drink but as the lower bar was closed we didn't bother going back in to get another drink as there was only 2 people serving and the wait had been long enough the first time. We go to Isaacs regularly so we know what to expect, we will be going again.
c. i.
Great place, my first ever visit.
Lots of great spaces to sit and eat or drink.
Ordering food on the app was so easy.
Great views of the Quayside.
T. E.
A really nice pub right on the water side. We used an upstairs function room for a large party of about 15 including children. We were able to use 2 highchairs provided, and the young ones could wander around a little as we were the only customers right at the top when we were there. Good food, good drinks, not extortionate prices, and fairly good service from the staff we encountered. Would recommend.
C. M.
Very friendly staff. There was live music today when we visited which was very enjoyable.
We had our dog with us and they kindly fetched him a bowl of water without us even asking.
The food was very enjoyable.
A lovely setting on the Quay.
A really enjoyable afternoon out.
M. S.
An amazing pub building, in an amazing place, in the centre of ipswich water front. Service is super fast whether using the bar or the app and considering the size of the place and how many customers can fit in there. It's unique. The food we ordered came out lightning quick, however it wasn't great quality nor was it worth the price we paid. But I guess that's what happens when you're catering for the masses?
W. B.
A very lively place for a mid week visit on the harbour front. Plenty of out door area. Food is nice with big portions. Steak advertised as cooked weight so don’t get cough out . It was massive.
D. B.
Lovely cheeky lunch with my daughter in a warm summer's day. It was quiet as we were early, but the service was brilliant and the food was yummy 😋
J.
An absolutely stunning pub restaurant set against the beautiful marina in Ipswich.
The food is top tier, the goat cheese and red onion tart is a must, its exquisite.
The staff are on point and very helpful and friendly , engaging with customers .
During the day this place is very different to the experience you get on the evening or on weekends bit both 'scenes' cater for everyone .
I can't recommend enough, going to Isaacs for a Saturday lunch.
The prices reflect the quality served.
A. V.
Nice surrounding, a lot of hidden places. A lot of sitting areas outside and inside. Good prices. Can not comment on the food as only had some drinks. Enjoyed the vibe overall. Some music in the garden if you want to dance too.
G. M.
Need better system when delivering food to customers. Waitresses/waiters just wandering about with no idea which table ordered. If placing order must be done via phone app then staff need to be trained to fully understand table layout, so food arrives hot.
J.
Great venue down on the docks. Plenty of seating options inside and out including domes to hire. Lovely food and plenty of drink options. 3 separate bars.
Often hosting live music and sport events.
Only downfall is that they are cashless
C. Q.
A great place to sit and have a drink on the waterfront or to meet up with a group of friends. Isaacs is a fantastic spacious pub with friendly staff it's in a great location offering various meals with different offers on each day of the week it also has a dedicated Caffè with a good selection of hot drinks and food.
C. P.
What can you say about Isaacs? Probably one of the most well-known bars in Ipswich. This place has grown from what used to be "The Vodka Bar" back in the late 90's through to the 4-bar, massive courtyard behemoth that it is today. One of the first places to put in outside TVs back when the smoking ban came in, it's a great place to watch any sports. The courtyard gets packed in the summer and there’s often live music on at the weekend.
M. C.
A lovely place to visit, good food and drinks in a good comfortable atmosphere.
Prices are a bit inflated on the drinks but generally a well organised and quality venue.
Staff all seem to know their roles and very polite and confident.
C. B.
I love Isaac's. I have been coming here for year and every time it feels like it has expanded and there is a new bar or seating area. It's a great place to meet and have a drink and/or meal. Well worth a visit in Ipswich.
A. L.
Often busy but never feels crowded. The urinals in the men’s toilets are spectacular, seriously! Best place to piddle in the whole county, certainly the most entertaining!
S. F.
Service polite and friendly but was a little slow for a lunchtime- had to wolf sandwich down to get back to work in time! Just one guy bringing food oyt from the kitchen. But ham and cheese toasted sandwich was tasty and accompanied by small, dressed side salad and tortilla chips.
S. S.
Great location good atmosphere 👏 multiple bars and rooms to enjoy.
H. H.
Staff friendly and dog friendly place. Came here before and staff went out of their way to provide water for the dog. Had lunch with son whose at uni here. Burgers and mains plentiful, but sharers a bit expensive for what you get with no chips included and a small dressed salad on side.
R. D.
If you want quick service and plenty of seating this is the place for you. Seems to be a great push for doubles. Every drink " is that a single or a double", a single please! Note they don't do cocktails?
d. l.
We had the best day ever and we wouldn't of changed a thing. we only booked our wedding 7 weeks before the event and Donna, Clarissa and the team were amazing and made it completely hassle free. The wedding room is so pretty and use of the private courtyard below was a great way to spend a couple of hours having photos, a drink and mingling with our guests. We also rented the merchant house for our 5 grown up children & Partners to stay in. They said it was a great place to stay big rooms and good showers. The food far exceeded out expectations and the portions are big, much bigger than you would normally get at a wedding venue. so nobody was hungry and our guests all commented on how good the food was. The free football table in the courtyard was a nice touch for the kids & some adults to play on. Donna and the team made it a seamless experience, as the Bride & Groom we didnt have to worry about a thing even down to playing our music at the right times during the ceremony. I really can't praise the team at Issacs enough and wish I could have my day over and over again.
P. W.
Great atmosphere especially as Bairstow & England we're winning the second test against New Zealand on multiple large TV screens in the sun drenched courtyard. Brilliant location.
C. D.
The chicken was not cooked enough.
B.
Bit pricey in a historic building but well worth it if you're there when a live band is on, great atmosphere great beer garden good choice of tipples! Food is a bit mediocre but after a few it's fine.
d. d.
My son and his lovely new wife celebrated their wedding here on Wednesday. The setting was superb and the staff were very attentive and brilliant. I would recommend this venue to anyone.
L. T.
Had my daughter's wedding reception on the top floor. Lovely venue but definitely need to put in air con!!
v. T.
Love this place, you can have a drink something to eat, looking over the water, bliss what more can you ask for...plenty of bars down there
Really recommend it
p. y.
Was lovely here on Sunday met with friends for drinks and food. Menu could be a little better Chips with everything. But lovely pub.
P. Y.
First visit to here as staying with friends. Atmosphere and view over the Marina fantastic. Good drinks menu. Didn't eat just a cheeky mid Sunday morning G&T but menu looked good. Well recommended for a drink with a view.. Nice staff too...🌝
J. C.
Saw Jax & Co - Johnny Cash tribute band. Brilliant act - highly recommended. Food good, in a pubby Brake Brothers unpretentious way, but enjoyable when ur on the lash watching a gr8 band and pumped up on Moretti (hic!!). Good time had by all.👍🍺
M. B.
Fantastic pub, vast area of bars and eating areas, good food, good entertainment. Played here in a band recently, a friend had a medical problem and staff were very helpful.
P. G.
Lovely 🤪 place great atmosphere relaxed excellent customer service offered great selection of food and drinks offered.
f.
Huge pub/restaurant/coffeeshop/meeting area/ etc...
Tier 2 friendly meals, plenty of food and drink options. Sit anywhere inside or out, order online and they bring everything out quick. Heating outdoor seating, plenty of shade and telly. Telly inside the loo so you don't miss the footy.
T. O.
Nice pub with a big courtyard with heated seating. Great for a night out with a group of mates or to watch the football
S.
Service is really quick, by friendly, happy waiters/ waitresses. Always a pleasant atmosphere. Customers during the day are of all ages~from young families to old couples and groups. Can't wait to come again.
G. B.
My brother and I sat outside in the sunshine overlooking the marina, lovely! Our fish and chips was delicious. Batter was nice and crispy, and the chips were 'proper' chips, chunky and perfectly cooked. Really yummy!
l. p.
Had a great Saturday afternoon listening to The Kicks band. Good table service using their app., all worked smoothly. Good friendly atmosphere.
G. B.
Have eaten at many places in Ipswich since returning from overseas. They have mainly been average & rubbish. The burger at Isaacs was great.Well presented, good quality & cooked crispy chunky chips.Coleslaw & salad,Well done Isaacs, great product & included a free drink.Other food business’s should learn from Isaacs.Serving raw chips is just schocking.Highly recommend Isaacs.
J. B.
Nice place with some great food at reasonable prices. If ever I'm back in the area I would go there again
E. r.
Lovely place with a nice atmosphere but it was very busy for breakfast (there were plenty of tables left but the queues for ordering drinks was massive).
L. P.
Good latte, unusual place to have coffee. Lots of different seating areas including a roof terrace with views over the marina.
N. C.
Great little club. Friendly bar staff and security. I went on a Monday for Reckless the Alternative Night.
m. b.
Nice historic building, with a good atmosphere. Often have live groups on a Sunday afternoon. Nice food, worth a visit
B. A.
A great use of the space. Really lovely place to sit, drink a tasty pint and watch the world go by. Would definitely recommend.
E. W.
Great atmosphere inside and out. Good selection of drinks and food. Service a little slow.
j. e.
Nice pizzas lovely staff busy and noisy but didn’t have to wait long. Nice to sit outside on a sunny day
G. C.
Drinks are expensive but views and atmosphere are worth it. Food menu is basic but good. Good for watching sport.
D. C.
Lovely bar in great position. Good value food and drinks with cool live music
A. J. P.
Nice place, very friendly people and delicious food. I really enjoyed it.
V. S.
Had a great evening in this place with my colleagues
L. R.
Over the last decade or so we have always stopped here, either for an early morning breakfast, lunch, dinner and/or drinks in the evening; or a night out! It's big enough to have a quiet meal or step outside and enjoy a friendly atmosphere of people enjoying themselves; great for relaxing and watching the boats and people walk by. It's also thankfully family friendly up to early evening.
M. M.
Nice venue situated by the dock, good food beer selection not bad.
P. C.
Great location. Very friendly staff and nice selection of beers and cider. Food is good and reasonably priced. Desserts too tempting!! Lovely rambling building so great nooks and crannies to hide away for lazy afternoon of good conversation, food and drink. If you just need coffee there's a cafe too, bet the cakes tempt you!
t. t.
In all the years I've lived in the area I've never been in until now. Lovely venue plenty of places to sit inside and out I only stopped for a coffee with a friend but that was tasty quick service, I ordered through a QR code from my table which I really liked. Definitely will be returning as the food smelt great.
P. S.
It is a shame that the music from isaacs spoils the peaceful enjoyment of others around the docks. Not only is the music loud but it is also distorted with the high frequencies lost and unpleasant.
G. G.
I really enjoy this place, they have great chili nachos and selection of beers (of course). Amazing view on the Marina and really nice staff. Will come back for sure.
T. R. G.
Very nice place with lovely views across the harbour, unfortunately there was a long wait for food so we didn't eat there.
A. C.
Friday night and a very bustling and lively pub on the waterside.Good range of beers but we found the food very disappointing. The fish and chips a very small portion of fish and the loaded chips bland.
A. B.
Isaacs is a really cool place. It's laid back, friendly and suitable for lots of different age ranges. I spent some time here new years eve and I really enjoyed the atmosphere. Lots of seating and quirky bar areas. Would definitely recommend.
A. Z.
Enjoyed the bar and the atmosphere! Will come back here for sure! :)
Y. M.
Nice place 👌🏾 lovely view and atmosphere for a family occasion.
M. M.
Love the scenery, nice place to drink, but food is a bit rubbish sadly, had the American style chilli
S. B.
Good venue, reasonably priced and on the water front. They are doing their best giving the current re-opening restrictions so make sure you have some patience!
D. C.
Lovely place, something for everyone.
Large variety of seating with nice views of the quays and multiple large screens everywhere including the men's toilets.
Nice selection of drinks including local brewed ales from the brewery behind and coffee from the attached coffee shop.
Food was great, tasted good and large portions.
K. B.
Enjoyed the afternoon the atmosphere and people and music, will definitely visit again
G. A.
Great drinks and a great view if the marina, food hits the spot and lovely courtyard to relax in
B.
Staff are friendly, place is nice and the urinals are pretty unusual. The food i had was pretty far from great though. It tasted like it had been heated up in the microwave and plopped on a plate. Had it been a fiver I would have rated it higher but 10 quid for a pulled pork burger should buy a better meal than what was presented to me.
E. G.
Nice place, but menu not very clear on food
A. D.
Nice place,lovely atmosphere🤩🤩
Fallon is the best at the bar i wish more people will be like her😊
A.
Awesome live music by The Kicks! A great atmosphere all around.
Good portion sizes, some meals would be better to share
J. W.
Nice atmosphere, reasonable priced food and drink, friendly staff
D. K.
Good place.. nice food.. would be 5 stars bit the staff always let this place down.
E. H.
Lots of space, multiple bars, authentic pub area and beer garden as well as a café. Little bit of everything
t. j.
Very nice. A little confusing to start with, as I'm not used to ordering thro an app and a heads up they don't accept cash. Wasn't sure where to sit etc, so I get that u can just walk in, order, pay online and ur food and drink turns up, but a human meet and greet would have been nice for oldies like me (44!) Lol but that said I would go again, food was lovely
L. G.
Best place in Ipswich to enjoy Fish and Chips. Highly recommend.
L. P.
Huge pub, multiple levels, only negative point was, for such a big place the bars are very small. So queues were horrendous
L. N.
Lovely bar. Great view, plenty of seating.
Came here for lunch the other day and sat outside in the sun. They have table service and an app for ordering / paying which was great and absolutely seamless. As for the Covid 19 measures in place they seemed reasonably well implemented which was good!
I had the Issac's Burger which was delicious. It certainly looked better than my partner's vegan burger, though I am told it did taste good.
f. t.
The garden heaters were not working on the day of our visit and it had been raining during our 10-15 minute walk there so we were soaked and cold and really looking forward to the heaters. Apart from that, music was good, atmosphere was good, service at the bar was pretty efficient and it's wasn't overly busy so it meant we could find a table easily but we specifically picked Issacs because of the garden heaters so that's why I have marked it down. (This time)
S. N.
A very crowded pub located in front of the marina, three floors, many seats and surely a must-go if you want to see the Ipswich night life. Typical Pub menu and a quite wide range of beers. Food is ok.
Cons: they don't make cocktails and the floor can get to be quite sticky (as in every English pub)
C. H.
This is a lively and very popular bar in a lovely building in fantastic location on the Waterfront. It can get busy Reasonably priced food as well with dining pods on an upper deck overlooking the marina.
D. G.
Just popped in for a pint with my wife while my daughter visited the Uni.. ended up having lunch, great place, very unique... had a Burger and pint for a tenner...absolutely fantastic..100% recommended
N. D.
Fabulous place
.. My favourite time of day is breakfast there.
T. F.
Easy prompt and courteous service marred by slightly under temperature English breakfast. Tasted as it should though to be fair and wasn't dried out or been out too long. I particularly like the app ordering system, apart from the fact you have to order each thing separately, even if you want to order multiple quantities of the same thing.
Apart from that, a lovely experience!
L. F.
We came across Isaacs on Saturday morning looking for breakfast. It was on the Marina waterfront and plenty of tables.
The food and drinks were good. I had a sausage brioche and my husband a full english. Great value and food tasted amazing. I can be fussy but the quality was good.
The staff were great and especially in the current climate asking people to Track & Trace the guy at the front was superb! He was friendly, kind, patient and said it how it was. Not an easy job but he did a great job. Well Done Isaacs we will recommend and return.
S. O.
Great atmosphere, very good value food and the portions are massive. They've got great selections of drinks and it's a real novilty to be on the quayside next to the boats.
a. f.
Great as always. Lovely place to eat or drink with great views of the river. I love the look and feel of it and has a lot of different areas to choose from. The outside winter pods look very novel and I’m looking forward to trying one.
J. F.
Great venue just by the waterfront food great and good beer
M. S.
A huge, nicely decorated bar with friendly staff right by the marina. No single malt whisky available but did a great g&t.
R. F.
Very satisfied. Fish and chips were great. Great view and quick service
J. M.
Lovely atmosphere and although very busy the staff were helpful and friendly. Lots of choices of different style places to sit with our dog and food prices very reasonable some with special offers. We visited at lunchtime whilst on holiday so it was a one off experience.
C. L.
Brilliant afternoon in the sun then moved to a booth with heaters. Great fast app service. Great place
S. M.
Massive venue ideal for all ages very spacious inside, had to wait along time for food though.
a. d.
Great location, friendly staff, good beer. A great night out.
D. C.
While visiting Ipswich, me and my husband were looking for a nice place to sit and have a coffee. Isaacs is in an amazing location right opposite the harbour. A very large place with ample sitting on different levels. While searching for a table a waitress walked passed us without even a 'hello', we found a ideal table but sadly although the waitress witnessed this the table was full of previous customers dirty plates which looked like everyone had been putting them on this table to clear a table for themselves. Upon ordering via phone app we had no confirmation of order for quite a while so we left. We got a little down the road and the notification came through so we rushed back and luckily the table was still free. We order hot drinks and a Croissants, the croissant was lovely and came immediately but we then sat fir a further 15 minutes waiting for our drinks which we would of enjoyed while eating. Drinks came eventually then we left with no 'goodbyes or thank you's ' sadly we were quite disappointed as its such a beautiful place. I understand at times places are busy but maybe they are best waiting and bringing your food with your drinks. Was highly impressed with the safety poster in the ladies toilets 👍🏻 well done great idea.
C. H.
Went there for Sunday breakfast. Big open spaces and plenty of airflow, with covered areas in case it rains.
Food was good and we were not left waiting too long even though it was busy.
Only downside is that food, soft drinks and coffees come from different areas, and the staff delivering one set cannot tell you how the others are coming along.
C. G.
Had brunch here today and it was delicious. Really easy to order on-line and everything arrived really quickly. We were also eating inside an old malt kiln which was pretty cool too. Would definitely recommend.
W. K.
This place is amazing massive out door area with sports on TV beers are good and the atmosphere is great well done
L. R.
Big sprawling building, interesting place and a good choice of local and others beers and ales.
Food was OK, not exceptional but not poor either. Seemed expensive for the quality.
Much of the place felt ‘tired’.
K. H.
A great venue for all occasions.
Placed on the Ipswich Waterfront it is beautiful on a sunny day but also caters for rainy days too.
Good food, good beverages, entertainment and a nice place to visit.
B. 6.
Really nice place to visit and watch the world going by. Perfect location on the waterfront.
Friendly staff with good polite and helpful security.
Ordering easy via mobile and fast table service even when busy.
Nice food.
Would definitely recommed.
P. D.
Visited on Ipswich football home game so was busy but that never effected the speedy good service, good value good quality lunch and drinks. Pub on Ipswich marina, situated on many floors due to the Old Mill building. Wood recommend a visit.
w. p.
Great food. Service and location
C. B.
Ordered through website. Advised order would be 5 minutes or so. Had to stop a waitress after 25 minutes to find out where my order was (1 pint) came straight out after that. It was very busy though and first week after restrictions lifted. Good pint of grapefruit IPA.
A. B.
Great afternoon spent with friends and family, good music, with a good vibe
R. K.
Vibrant and modern pub right on the waterfront. Lovely views of the boats, good food and reasonable prices. Can get fairly packed in the evening.
C. A. J.
I treated my partner to breakfast at Isaacs and was not disappointed. Let's get the 'C' word out if the way.
Covid - restrictions were being adhered to at a very high standard for example temperatures being taken, masks in off walking around in this venue, table service and ordering via a table QR code as well as track and trace.
Service- I was using my mobility scooter and do worry about knocking people and chairs around in smaller spaces however I was directed to an area where there was plenty of room for me to swing my wheels around.
Food- outstanding. In fact it exceeded our expectations. We both ordered a full English breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed every bite.
Location - Stunning views across Ipswich waterfront and more specifically our table was situated in the courtyard which is also stunning.
100% ~ Top Marks ~ Highly Recommended
K. E. K.
Would just like to say a massive thank you and well done to Richard who was on the entrance and not only kept us informed whilst queueing to get in, but also was highly entertaining. Customer service at its best, that I have experienced in a long time. Also well done to the staff for getting food and drink out to us, ran like clockwork, was nice to be back 🙂
M. B.
Perfect for date night drinks before dinner & a movie.
A. B.
This is a slightly upmarket wetherspoons type place. Basic food and large portions. It was exactly what we needed as a big group wanting enough tables to have a drink together without a reservation. The online ordering is extremely efficient. Other than that no points for covid safety: tables not cleaned between groups, cutlery just in a tray handled by anyone etc. etc. Looked like some cool igloos on the roof overlooking the water...
J. L.
Great food and views of the Quay. The building is full of interesting artifacts.
B. t. M.
Great Food Issacs Burger has So Good. Real Ale on tap but only choice of 2. Really big place and you can get lost. The courtyard is an amazing setting.
J. D.
A great place with brilliant music however the beers are a bit pricey - at least a £ more than in town
T. H.
Superb good, great location. Service was quick and friendly. We will be back
A. K.
Went here for brunch and it was lovely. Great atmosphere and an amazing building. Service was really quick
N. O.
Fabulous breakfast, lots of choices and at a good price.
H.
Great bar and nice food too, I had half a kilo of chips topped with mozzarella and chilli, beer is expensive but all in all it is worth the price for what you get.
C. S.
Went to Isacs to watch the England and Scotland game on Friday. Where we was seated there was a table in our way that obstructed our view to the TV and a very friendly and funny member of staff kindly rearranged the furniture for us so we could see the game. The customer service was very good, food was priced fairly and the atmosphere was amazing. Only thing I would like to see is Peroni on tap but I can't fault them for that.
R. S.
Staff are kind and quick at serving. I Highly recommend this place as it has a nice view.
K. l. B.
The waterfront is issacs! Anybody visiting Ipswich this is definitely the place to go. Good food, always a bonus, the whole experience is worth a visit. Inside or outside whatever you will not be disappointed. PS staff are brilliant.
J. S.
Love Isaacs, food tasty, good price, great range of drinks. Food service fast. Lovely place for a drink over looking the marina
D. H.
Great place good out door space live music and food
C. S.
Friendly service, great atmosphere
S. H.
Fabulous location on the marina, good selection of beers and even a few vegan options on the menu. Friendly helpful staff and great outside seating.
O. J.
Great place. Been many times. Can get quite busy depending what’s on and what the weathers like. Drinks and food very fast and friendly staff.
J.
Ate outdoors. Pulled pork burger and Isaac's burger. Ordered on an app, came really quickly. Food got cool over time but was very windy. Chairs were pretty high so feet dangling a bit!
L. W.
Went for a drink Saturday evening. Really packed so not a place to go for a quiet night. U have to order everything by smartphone to be delivered to your table here. No problems doing it and drinks arrived promptly.
C. K.
Had a fantastic time at Neptune's marina and found Issacs for a quick drink. Beautiful place and menu available.
S. H.
Nice place , plenty of space and seating to choose from ....unfortunately during our visit on 27/09/21 despite the place being quiet the jacket potatoes we ordered with chilli were both cold .....my opinion go for drinks but don't bother with food as this isn't the 1st time it's happened to us here
D.
They seem to have this social distancing thing really well organised. You can order and pay online, your food and or drinks are brought over very quickly and efficiently. The only problem is, it is so easy to do, you can buy a lot without noticing. Lots of seating with heaters. They have done it very well indeed.
T. M.
A proper utility restaurant this place is so big and varied it kind of does everything in one go.
In terms of quality I’d liken it to an upmarket Weatherspoons, nice enough quality and great value for money.
Full English breakfast here is recommended if you want cheap but good hit the spot food!
D. B.
Loved the vegan Breakfast and Amstel Bier glasses. Great place to sit, friendly staff. Will definitely go back
O. F.
Very nice vegan breakfast and lovely view
L. R.
Nice in the sunshine however is a bit pricey.
P. R.
Had a great time here. Visited for my cousin's birthday and found this place by chance, not knowing the city at all. We walked in on a match day but got a table and a really decent burger, with the tastiest bun. Obviously the beer is top notch too.
W. O.
Great atmosphere, in a wonderful location!
k. f.
Great place on the Ipswich waterfront. Great outside space and plenty of tables.
A. V.
Pretty empty when I went for Friday lunch, Social distancing and covid rules were enforced well. The Cajun Chicken Burger I had wasn't amazing but wasn't too bad. The brownie with ice cream was pretty good though.
J. S.
Great atmosphere and vibe. Good value for money and great taste. Helpful staff.
L. W.
It gets very busy, but it has the nicest outside area in Ipswich. It's also a lovely building with multiple bars and lots of seating options.
J. H.
Great service yesterday (16 April). Waited less than 5 minutes every time for our two drinks. The guy controlling people entering Isaacs was very helpful and polite.
E. P.
Lots of interesting corners /rooms to sit in , we chose the first floor outside because of the great views of the harbour and yachts. Food is easily ordered online with your phone and came quickly. My father and I failed to demolish a huge sharing plate of chilli and guacamole . My daughter had a burger of some sort which was tasty too, and again ample. Service was good and this place is open all afternoon when others along the quay have shut.
J. W.
Nice lunch on one of the booths upstairs. Bit like being in a greenhouse really..
M. M.
Very good. Clean and the staff were polite and professional. Felt very covid safe, the online ordering system was very effective and actually helps to speed up service. The food was very good. We both had the fish and chips. The batter was nice and crispy andcthe fish nice and firm.
R. C.
Great food including good options for vegans, nice views depending on where you sir. Friendly staff and a generally nice atmosphere.
A. P.
Nice place, good beer if you take the local. Best location in ipswitch
M. C.
Good location and views over the Marina, friendly, doing the Track'n'Trace Waltz as efficiently as may be. Good beer, but big city prices. Not a bad place to kill an hour, it's clean up and well kept.
D. C.
Plenty of entertainment on good day and night a must place to visit
S. D.
Top notch service.
The seating is very pleasant with views of the quayside. The tables were clean and the staff very friendly. Staff were helpful to recommend dishes and gave an open and friendly welcome/service.
The food was delicious. It arrived promptly after ordering, hot and cooked really well. Every dish was well seasoned and tasted very nice. I had the melted nachos and appreciated the dips in separate pots (for allergy reasons as I was sharing), this made it easier to eat. Would most definitely go back.
D. H.
Great way to spend a Sunday afternoon great band.
A. I.
Food very good and tasty food and at a good price
E. H.
Lovely place. We got married here and the wedding coordinator was fantastic. Couldn't do enough to help. Great BBQ and buffet in a fantastic old building. All the guests said it was the best wedding they had attended. Drink here quite often, love the live music in the summer, however it does get very busy. Nice cosy corners to sit in and a great court yard. The merchants house at the back is a great place for the bride and groom plus wedding guests to stay. Definitely worth a visit with a great view of the marina.
P. S.
Nice place for lunch or dinner or just a few drinks all the staff were very pleasant and the best way to order is with there in house app very quick once paid drinks come out n about two or three minutes food about 10 no complaints there very good
M. H.
Coffee with toppings was really good. Crispy fries honestly never tasted such a fries with good aroma. Nice place very first time had been here taste is authentic. Neatly maintained the premises. Outdoor seating also available with a great view of waterfront. Great service by the staff. Great place for a perfect weekend.
K. E.
Great food and views.
K. W.
Great place, quick service and food really good! Recommend the nachos and chicken legs 👍 we saw a live band playing there and it was all really well organised, we will be back soon!
E. G.
always a good place to go good food and drink
T. B.
Good large outside area with plenty of screens for sports
A. C.
Lovely building on the waterfront and there are lots of events. A friend of mine is getting married here later this year and the last time I was there they had live music on too. The food was really good and there's a great range of vegetarian and vegan food. I'm not vegan but was tasting food for a vegan wedding and the beetroot burger is amazing!
The only downside is that it is very busy. The service was still good but it was hard to find a table.
S. W.
Great for outdoor drinking and the service is excellent
M. E.
It's decent, a lot going on there and a nice view over the water. Food is pretty good too.
However, it's a really odd and confusing layout, where 6 tiers are spread over essentially 2 floors. Very odd.
Plus at certain times it does get a little rough. Went there for a drink with a friend on a Friday and had a little bit of trouble from a rough group.
But all in all pretty good!
m. b.
Close to Quay, friendly staff, good prices. Signature burger not really tasty made of some kind processed meat?, don't know what it was! Jacket potato good, quick service.
M. O.
Very friendly staff and plenty of seating options. Covid planning is in place and table service is simple through the app....once you know how. Well done guys and good to have you back!
A. S. (.
A good water front pub with a good range of food and drink. A nice range of music and live events and plenty of seating and bar area. Standard pub grub but very handy after a walk down the waterfront. Always a warm and helpful welcome
A. W. (.
Really enjoyed our work Christmas do in the top function room at the venue. The food was excellent and the team really friendly and helpful
P. P.
Really enjoyed watching the rugby here
j. h.
Best bar in Ipswich by miles.
D. K.
Nice menu and food delivered quickly. Some of the portion sizes are smaller than my last visit e.g. the nachos but otherwise a nice place for a drink and chat with friends. Drink prices about average for a bar.
A.
Really nice, spacious place in a great spot and offering a decent food and drinks menu. Unfortunately they are not taking track and trace details, there is no hand sanitiser in sight and some of the soap dispensers in bathrooms were empty at 1pm on Friday during a pandemic.
s. B.
I'm really impressed with the place, everything is completed on an app. No bloody cueing.... Burger and a beer £10....and the food is good. Well done
J. W.
Great new development on the marina, Wine and dine, chill with a beer and free entertainment on certain nights.
V. C.
Great for large family meals if you book tables before hand.
Great selection of wines, beers, ales, stout, gin, most spirits.
Dinner is good. Before 8.30pm it's quite quiet
Lovely view over water.
J. S.
Order on your phone by scanning the QR code which is printed around the bar. Plenty of outdoor seating and covered areas. Quick, friendly service.
L. L.
Excellent range of beers. Steak night on Tuesday a brilliant deal, two 12oz rump steak meals and a drink for £25. The steaks were great. Fish and chips, burger and jumbalaya meals all went down a treat with the rest of our group. Glad the piped music wasn't too loud as it has been in the past which is why we hadn't 't visited for a very long time. We wont leave it so long after this week's visit.
D. T.
If you want loaded chips then this is the place to go in Ipswich. Right on the quay so good views too.
Really enjoyed it
A. C.
Good service and tasty food. Please be aware that their customer loyalty card has new terms and conditions. (No, the printed terms on the loyalty cards have not been updated.) My normal meal there includes a large coffee. Imagine my disappointment when I was told this week that my free coffee could only be a standard size one. The staff were apologetic - but said that "the management have changed the rules". Ho hum!!
K. P. A.
Unique and very special, especially the soul events. When are Phaze2 Steel Band coming back? They were the best event of the year!
K.
Very clean and tidy. Staff very friendly and service was ge y good. Ordering on the website was very simple and the food a very good standard.
Would go back again when we next visit the Quayside.
i. M.
Always love a night at Isaacs. Great staff, brilliant pub and good prices. What more would you want?
D. N.
I admit we had a slight problem with ordering (downstairs for hot drinks, upstairs for cold drinks and food etc). We Sat outside watching the waterfront and boat's, it really is delightful.
We ordered food, which was tasty and freshly prepared. There really is little to complain about. The setting is perfect, outdoor heaters to help on those chillier days and nights. Worth a visit if you're around the area.
S. P.
Popped in for a drink after a long day before heading home. Extremely unique lay out and lots of levels. Imagine it'd be nice on the balcony but as a storm was brewing it was closed off. Lemonade tasted flat hence dropping a star
G. G.
Staff are always friendly and happy to help. Drinks aren't the cheapest but that's fine, food is great and there's only a wait for food if it's a really nice day (lunch times) or if it's busy due to football/rugby on tv. Great scenery if you're on the balcony or at the front downstairs.
S. H.
When asking the waitress about my order, I was told before I could even speak your order is on its way. Bit presumptive of her when the order hadn't gone through..Which is hadn't thats why I had got her attention, the manger sorted the order and it was a lovely breakfast. The one thing I uphold most when dinning out is manners and good customer services, I love issac which is why I was shocked at the manners of this lady when serving customer. She seem very friendly to everyone else.
T. W.
It was okay. Food okay but had to wait long time. Service was OK. I think a little bit more attention to detail would have made the experience do much nicer. Will visit again.
C. O.
What started out as a small pub has slowly grown to be quite large. It has managed to keep the small pub feel as the expansion has added more rooms with each keeping that cosy feel. There is a big outside area with seats and great views of the water front. The beer selection is good with some guest appearances from the micro brewery next door. There is also a small selection of food, which is all very good.
M.
Very lovely service! 100% recommend - very friendly staff, and lovely food and drinks. Our dog was given a bowl of water too.
D.
A little pricy here but I got some great tasty food which they messed up my order on by serving me fries and then bringing my sweet potato fries in 5 minutes later. so I'm not complaining there, very cosy where we sat in a grain deposit room. was here for the girlfriends birthday with friends, upset staff did not sing and give free milkshake. but I guess the covid rules are tighter then my budget for her food allowance.
A. S.
Nice and some what simple place, on many levels. Differing rooms for different peoples needs, whether you want to sit down with friends and relax in the comfy area or sit down and chat in the bar area. Chill with a coffee or just sit down with with a beverage of your choice outside by the Dock front, relax and watch the world amble past.
Can get (very) crowded on some days when things are on in the area.
K. T.
Great place to sit and chill or listen to live music. Nice view looking across the marina. Close to town centre. Short walk to football stadium. Loads of hotels/accommodation nearby. Good range of ales at fair prices. Had several meals among our group and we all enjoyed. Great place in any weather! p.s great friendly staff.
D. W.
Service beer and food good . But as the doors were left open all the time it was quite cool all afternoon
n. s.
Lots of little rooms for group chats away from the main bars. You can reserve or hire out some. Decent prices for drinks and pretty fast service. Haven't had the food here but heard pretty good things so far. Needs more toilets though for such a big place!
L. W.
Great atmosphere, food and drinks!
J.
Lovely setting, great atmosphere and I'm told there are TV screens in the gentleman's toilet so they don't have to miss any action! There's large screens outside where popular sporting events are shown. Lots of rooms with separate bars so you don't feel that you are in a huge place. Ladies toilet is a bit grim therefore it lost a star
V. M.
The environment either on the waterfront ground level or up the deck is amazing on a bright day. Good for matches inside on a projector screen. Food is mediocre (the veg burger has been good though). Great for drink. Kitchen gets awfully late on rush hr. (they quoted 90mins for breakfast the other day so ... ... never tried it)
P. C.
First time there, it is what it is. Nice surroundgs, lots of well spaced seating. Had fish and chips, which I'm happy to report were better than most restaurants. Wife had the same and was happy so they are consistent. Would happily pop in again.
S. D.
Super fast service and food was lovely my only criticism was my food could have been hotter it arrived luke warm.
N. C.
Did not feel Covid secure at all. No masks required at all. Like a pandemic never happened. This is my opinion only. Staff still friendly and everything was like before. Just felt a little unsafe.
G. W.
I love this place .on a Sunday is a super chilled vibe .be warned the hole place is cashless and you can only order via their app or website so no cash orders which can be a pain
S. A.
Many nooks and crannies, with all areas like a completely different bar. Music downstairs with a pizza parlour. Sky sports upstairs, quiet areas too. Prices are in tune with rest of town. Nice setting looking out over the water. This was a Sunday afternoon. So fairly quiet. Local Singer, Charlotte Peck was performing, a great voice - check her out!! Overall a pleasant experience.
A. A.
Stayed at Salthouse, could hear the amazing atmosphere during FA Cup Final could here the cheering, thought next day to pop in.
I think his name was Richard very welcoming nothing was too much, catered for our brunch needs(no beef) amazing venue.....well done guys!!
High five for post covid-19 and amazing breakfast especially for the "Eat out to help Out" 2x breakfast with OJ....£6.50 😱
M. B.
Probably the most popular bar in town! Everyone kept recommending this place..
It has different seating areas inside almost to different genres! It's cosy and beautiful. Drinks are a bit expensive but worth the experience. Food looked delicious too, but we didn't try.
A. G.
Thoughtfully renovated, excellent, quirky old building. Polite helpful staff. Splendid food, side dishes are great - the most enormous onion rings I've ever seen and they allowed us to buy some cheesecake to takeaway 😊
m.
Honest David's reviews.
Only popped in for one drink so hard to give a full review. It was late December and at night. The place seemed quite busy coated to the other pubs we had been in that night, mostly a younger persons pub I think.
I can imagine it being really nice summer when you can sit outside and look out over the marina. But my partner who has been there in the summer days it does get really busy then.
All in all a nice place... Maybe we will go back in the summer and do an update.
Gets a 3*** for now
J. S.
A lovely place to come along to and have a drink. Always very busy so service can be slow. The wedding packages looks amazing, but I wouldn't like the thought of walking through a pub dressed in my full attire!
K. L.
Stopped for morning coffee and bacon sandwich, very reasonably priced. Sat outside as a lovely sunny day. Social distancing applied. Had to download app to phone and had to put order in through phone and pay online by phone. Wasnt over keen to do this way but no alternative!
Was all quite easy to do, no cash being taken
K. P.
I can't think of another public house that is quite like this. Although I have only visited the once I must say I'd live a pub like this in my town! A highlight was finding YET another bar room hidden away on the other side of the large outside sitting area. People were all very friendly, staff were great. And I had a proper good evening there, I'm glad it was in this pub.
E.
Nicely decorated at Christmas with tasteful lighting. Showed multiple football matches on different floors of the pub, extensive seating and little cosy rooms to suit large and small groups. Nice selection of drinks served by friendly staff.
M. S.
This place is right on the quayside and has fantastic views. Great to sit with a drink outside and watch the boats go by. Shame there are not more shops or attractions in the area but there does look to be some development happening. Good amenities and thoughtful decoration in keeping with the area. Wide menu and good quality.
M. B.
I have always liked this pub, lovely position right on the waterfront. Large outdoor and indoor areas, food is OK and loads of sports. Defo one for the younger crowd. Music on Sunday's can get rammed. A good vibe most times you go in and used by a mixed crowd.
M. W.
Excellent bar and eatery. Good service with a smile with all the sport in every nook and cranny.....even the loos.
A. W. C.
Food is great especially the pasta 🍝 and great place to watch sunset go down from the harbour .
J. T.
Great place, nice food 👌
S. S.
Love this place, but who doesn't in ipswich food is always good with a full plate! Depending on when you go the atmosphere is always a vibe. We'll worth a visit
W. D.
This place is good for pretty much any night out. It's massive inside and out. Has loads of screens for sport, has live music, has decent food, and is right on the waterfront - making summer evenings particularly pleasant.
It's about ten minutes walk from the centre of town.
G.
Very nice for a summer drink
C. H.
It's got lots of different areas to sit in, my visit I sat outside watching life go on then when it got chilly I sat downstairs in the small coffee cafe, mid week my friend and I sat a d had a quiet drink in the snug with the club chairs and the ventilation shaft in the ceiling. It was interesting reading about that room and what it was originally.
C. C.
Go quite often for special occassions or starting off a night out. Really nice pub. Loads of different sections to stand in including outside with sports on Tv. Drink prices are ok. Food is really good. Can sometimes get a bit hot and too busy at bars but expected for a good pub with views of docks/location. Tempted to knock 1 star off due to arrogant male bar employee, clearly made mistake and was rude when I insisted he corrected it and on recent visit disapointed to see he was still there a month later. All other bar staff have been most hospitable.
K. d. K.
Family friendly spaces out in the open, indoors, and on the balcony. Beautiful views of the Quay!
Great for sports with multiple flat screens and a big projector. Staff are always very friendly!
Good food and a good variety of alcohol. They have student discounts on Wednesdays and various discounts here and there. Portions are big but a tad bit pricey (Still worth it in my opinion).
Definitely between the best pubs in Ipswich.
M. B.
Staff were absolutely amazing
S. W.
Enjoyable drink in a lovely setting
D. S.
Great location....
That's about it really. Two beers on draft. Ghost ship and doom bar. Ghost ship out at midday. No bottled beers.
Food just about good enough.
An opportunity wasted given it's prime location.
No clue how this place averages 4.6 stars.
T. T.
Barman in the rear bar has no idea... not watching the bar, serving in the wrong order.... i would not hire the idiot. Went to the up stairs bar hopefully the customer is important there..... a lot better. The team behind the bar, very perceptive. Management, might want to retrain the team in the rear bar. They were useless.
S. B.
Good place for sitting outside as has patio heaters. Easy to order drinks using their app and service is good.
P. B.
Brilliant in the summer when the sun's shining but gets very busy. Not great for sport bar big events, world cup, Olympics and will not put the sound on if asked. When all the bars are open it's great however frequently when crowded only two bars open
v. m.
Absolutely brilliant time, team behind the bar were polite. Good atmosphere and good prices.
W. S.
Not bad in my opinion but I know others love it. Drinks are OK but all served in plastic cups. They have a few good guest beers from the Briarbank micro brewery round the back though which are quite nice.
A. M.
It is querky, fun, interesting and has so many different areas where you can seat.
I went at mid morning for a coffee, and it took me really long to get it, there is only 'the coffee shop' that serve coffees and they had only 1 till, not enough for all the custemers.
R. B.
Great digital service through app.
Large and tasty portions.
Gluten free looked after
Covid safe.
Sunshine provided.
Great experience.
N. A.
Can get very busy, especially on warm days. Live music and sport on television outside. Popular with all ages. Children are welcome, I believe until about 9 or 10 from our experience. Car park off Duke street near uni.
N. A.
friendly staff, great coffees and food looked lovely. not too busy but was a Friday lunchtime. Many tables available as seating on many levels. definitely go back soon.
D. 5.
Very busy at the moment, unfortunately the people in here are the problem. Reasonable food even in the cold outside, cold pint and the staff tried there hardest to make people stick to the rules. Maybe better in an afternoon rather than evening at the moment
d. g.
Always friendly to customers and dogs, good food, good selection of drinks and MASSIVE! So many areas to explore and always tidy and well presented
D. C.
Lovely place but does have it's faults. Staff are either all over you or no where to be seen. Can take a while to be served. Both if its quiet ot busy.
Prices are a bit more than you would expect. Food can take a while to come and quality does vary and also whos cooking too.
Plastic glasses but happy to give you a glass bottle. How does that work out.
The last time i was in there. I ordered 2 full english breakfasts. Waited over an hour and me and my Partner were the only ones in there.
B. H.
Just finished a superb plate of fish n chips. What's not to like! A* in every aspect. £8.50 for a delicious meal = good value in my book! Keep up the excellent work ❤
P. S.
Always a nice place to drink. Will be even better once they can have live music again.
T. D.
Brilliant location with gorgeous views of the harbour. Indifferent drinking, which with the brewery at the back is inexcusable. Sport screens very prominent. Go on warm evenings and have something bottled on the upstairs terrace.
E. K.
Nice atmosphere, good customer service but the food is not great. Strongly recommend the bar though 😃
M. M.
A good stop to sit and have a coffee and take in the lovely view of harbour life. Or just enjoy people watching whilst sitting outside in the sunshine
P. C.
It was ok today. Breakfast was lukewarm and they forgot my daughters extra sausage and sons toast after also not putting beans in separate bowl. So only average today I'm afraid.
C. B.
We love this place. Stunning views of The Harbour. Different rooms on different levels inside the historic building. Decent menu. Coffee house is separate in ground floor
Z.
I've not been here for 15 years. Wow, what a transformation! It was always decent but now it's grown arms n legs. Get yourself along to Isaac's soonest. It's ace, with tons of outdoor space and beautiful views over the marina. Service is good, the door staff are pleasant and interactive. It just has a good vibe about the whole place. We'll done Isaac's.
C. S.
Very nice. Wasnt too busy at this point but can be absolutely rammed. Nice big outdoor areas with sport on for those that want it. Even tvs built into the back of the urinals! Food was good and not too expensive.
S. G.
A very pleasant sunday afternoon spent here. Lots of seating areas, courtyard, verandah overlooking quay and indoor bars and coffee shop. Live band. If sitting in courtyard will be too loud to converse tho. Staff friendly and helpful. Food a bit disappointing for price. For instance i had a black bean and pepper sausage jambalaya. As black beans the headline ingredient i looked forward to these, but received a large bowl of rice containing 10 small beans. Nicely spiced but not what was suggested.
I. W.
Great location right by the water. Enjoyed a freshly cooked veggie sausage brioche this morning, and i can recommend the vegan breakfast stack. Its a lovely, big rambling and historical pub
J. M.
Very cool place by the waterfront for a drink with your mates or family. Friendly and chilled environment.
K. S.
Brilliant location and beers always good. Perfect for a hot sunny day. Food is ok.
C. R.
Great place to go, first visit here, would hiley recommend. 👍
V.
Brilliant monitors in the mens restroom
D. M.
Great location, great food, great drink! Food is very well priced and drinks are priced average for the area. If returning to Ipswich I'd consider coming back here on a warm day.
K. M.
Their brewery beer was excellent
C. T.
The greeter was lovely but the vegan breakfast was not pleasant the sausage was dry and the soya pretend bacon was a tasteless. The meat breakfast was better and the latte was nice.
T. L.
An all round huge pub with all there is needed for when you go out. With many screens in all areas there isn't much Isaacs is missing. Quiet cosy areas, private area for events, outdoor undercover and heated smoking area, terrace and a variety of foods with an attached Pizzeria.
Truly friendly staff and a great place to go out at with the occasional Band or DJ.
R. B.
Loverly sitting by the boats and watching the world go by .. good beer and food and service was good to. Well worth a visit
M. E. J.
Easy to order via their app. Food arrived quickly. Excellent value and service.
L. S.
Nice vibe during the week, but boisterous on the weekend sometimes. Food above average.
Bar staff are nice enough. Oh sweet Jesus some of the managers though. If you're not suited for customer facing roles please just reassess your life choices.
Appreciate they might not deal with the cream of polite society but when you treat everybody with the same pathetic contempt as you'd reserve for aggressive drunken teens you're awful at your job. Not speaking for all of them but when she reads this then she'll know who I'm talking about.
Oh, also plastic glasses!
H. i. T.
Absolutely brilliant place for breakfast, lunch, dinner, nights out. Always enjoy going there, great atmosphere especially outside during The summer! Will consider this place my local
R. L.
Although the staff at the bar was friendly. The food was not too perfection. The burger was tough.
c. t.
Great early evening drinks.
S. S. (.
Beautiful outdoor looking over Ipswich docks. Very sociable place available tv for watching all sorts sports. I mainly watched live football here. Great atmosphere food and very cold drinks available also indoors sitting if weather is bad or too cold. Here chillaxing with my mates
D. O.
Warm cosy place on waterfront, quick service by app, steak was enormous and cooked to perfection
S. S.
Always a great atmosphere!
S. C.
Pleasant enough my beer was lovely my friend found his not so nice
W.
I enjoy coming here, mainly when its quieter. We popped in for something to eat on a Saturday afternoon. Even tho it was raining we still had a lovely view and the food was tasty also. Definitely one to try if in Ipswich.
M. J. H.
I really love stopping off here coz it has well everything I and most importantly other people look for....
Views across a lovely Marina full of beautiful boats, a lovely clean public house with restaurant (it's really is gorgeous inside) and food quality you'll enjoy....
and to top it off plesant friendly staff and management....
It's best during the day in my opinion!!
If you like a pint and to play pool I'm afraid that there is not a table, this makes it one place the wife would come with me as I just leave her an empty seats to talk too normally while I am much happier playing pool against someone else, (sorry to my wife in advance).
HELPFUL? LEAVE A RESPONSE OR 'LIKE' THANK YOU
S. T.
Not the best meal I've ever had at Isaacs. The jacket potato was luke warm and quite hard. I asked for a new one but pretty sure it was the same one just microwaved a bit longer. Not so bothered about that as at least it was hot and edible this time around but not impressed with the waitress telling me it was "a matter of preference" - am really struggling to think of who might actually want to eat a half cooked hard jacket potato out of choice!! If I go again I will stick with nachos or chips.
A. P.
A great venue if you have visitors looking to see the Waterfront, Marina and some night life. Good day time meals and evenings sitting on the Waterfront are lovely. Night time security is polite, even when the place is very busy (and it can be very busy closer to the weekends!). The place to be out socialising in Ipswich it seems!
D. P.
Good venue in a central location. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating areas. Several bars with a good range of drinks. Food is also served here. They also have live music at the weekends.
A. W.
Really nice place, the staff & speed of service was excellent & the food was lovely
B. D.
Lots of space. Beautiful interior. Great service. Delicious food. Generous portions. Perfectly executed covid procedures. 6 stars out of 5.
R. B.
Great environment, friendly, helpful staff, easy to order drinks safely at the bar and online.
R. P.
Very good, very sociable, staff brilliant food great, lovely on a summer's day / evening, would recommend
P.
Sunday morning. Took 40 mins to get our eggs on toast . Came cold . But I was still nice . They offered to make fresh but we didnt have time. Have the missus her take out coffee for free.
M. S.
Absolutely lovely place and food very friendly staff but paying a bit awkward as it's all on line kept losing wifi so had to repeat all the card payments again photos on facebook lovely setting ipswich waterfront isaacs
S. N.
Lots of stairs internally. Food reasonably priced but chips were served lukewarm and nothing special. Lots of hard high stool seating. Certainly capitalising on the lovely views of the marina.
G. E.
Great food and atmosphere. They have made a really good effort with disabled access although it would be better still if they found a way of making it easier to access the bar where you order food.
m. o. t. q. d. s. n.
Decent pub... which seems a decent atmosphere...👌
S.
Great pub, and with great food and entertainment. Situated right on the edge of Ipswich docks, and so is extremely popular.
H. S.
Lovely and unusual layout makes this a great little place to visit.
E. C.
Great spot to watch the footie, with TVs everywhere. They even have TVs in the urinals! Food and service is great too, amd iff you're not much of a sports fan, they have a huge sun terrace and many bars indoors
C. M.
The carbonara pasta was pretty good.😊
W. B.
Food was not very hot, and burger was over cooked. Was not busy and easy to get table
m.
Always a really good atmosphere and drinks prices are always fair for good gin! Just a shame we have constant plastic cups! (I understand why! But I miss good old glass!)
R. W.
Great multi level bar bit like a German beer hall.
Location fantastic.
Food average and a little cold, but for location and a drink fantastic
a. a.
Great pub, chips were solid cremated unfortunately and food can be hit and miss. Drinks prices on par with area. Nice atmosphere
J. B.
Very dissapointed with the bank holiday food menu. Not much more than rolls and salads (is the chef on holiday???) and is served in paper and plastic take away boxes. Eaten here many times, food normally excellent but VERY poor this weekend. Saw some patrons come in, read the menu and leave. Wish I'd done the same and eaten elsewhere. Come on Isaacs, you can, and do do, so much better!!!!
J. P.
Love this place! Great food at affordable prices. Live music to everyone's taste. Family friendly also function rooms available which my family have used in the past. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Thank you yet again Issaacs for another enjoyable experience
D. O.
What a loverly setting ,brilliant food ,we are veggies and the Hollumi burger was amazing, good service and friendly staff.
M. L.
Lovely view of the Waterfront with a great option for seating, my meal of a chilli con carne was delicious and a great sized portion
K. K.
Lovely place, good selection of fine food!
M. S.
Most attractive venue for fun, sports and social events on the waterfront. Good food and drink with regular activities from live music to live reindeer at Christmas. Would recommend
G. B.
Beautiful sitting in the sun having a cuppa

Better venue for drinks than it is food as the quality tends to be hit-and-miss. Extremely busy during peak hours. Lots of gin & craft beer available.
P. L.
Good social distancing and staff were really attentive and fast with table service. Great afternoon with friends.

Perfectly adequate bar. Little bit of everything, outside space, decent food, sports, music. Good alrounder, excellent place to meet a group to start your evening off.

Great venue for music, food, beer and socialising. So many choices of where to sit. Inside, cosy or busy bars, outside communal tables or smaller options. Pizza, coffee and a view of the waterfront. Fab.

Love this pub so much character can't wait to revisit, great food too
L. B.
Big pub over lots of levels and rooms, plenty of space for large groups. Good inexpensive food options. Great historic location on the Ipswich waterfront

Great little pub.. We stayed out in the courtyard moat of the evening. Food was good and the location works especially if you're staying in the travel lodge across the road.
P. G.
Very good polyglot of a pub restaurant. Coffe shop ? We have that. Pizza Restaurant ? Yup got that. Burger Bar ? Duh.. of course. Wedding Venue ? Are you crazy. How could we not. Bar ? What do you want ... indoor, outdoor, terrace, casual, cozy, upstairs, downstairs. Yeah all of those. Great place.
J. S.
It's lovely but had to wait 25 mins for coffee ,we weren't the only ones

Have used Isaacs for birthdays in our family, other social gatherings, taken my disabled 85yr old poppa who also suffered dementia. He loved to 'people watch' and admire the boats /yachts while enjoying a drink. Also, we used Isaacs for my father's wake this year. We could not have gone to anyone more understanding and caring, from beginning to beyond requirements of a place of business. The food was amazing and very reasonably priced. Everyone was courteous and kind. Thank you to the lovely staff at Isaacs. Poppa would have truly approved, as did our family and friends.
We continue to enjoy Isaacs from time to time, to this day.

Large, trendy waterfront pub. Loads of seating inside and out with easy access for wheelchairs. Popular with young and old.unusual place well worth a visit as it has a real buzz

Great place. Was there during a football match, hundreds of people outside watching it, and I was I side with some friends playing board games. Nice food, just about someth8ng for everyone in terms of space

Great place to be, lovely staff, very hard working and helpful! My band played a gig there and it had such a great atmosphere! Really great food and beer as well!
S. M.
Fantastic place good food and drink and friendly staff
J. B.
For drinks in the evening this place was fine. However when we went for lunch, my partner ordered a burger and a club with some garlic bread, they only ordered the burger, that's 1 out of 3 she had to explain twice what she wanted and on the final time of explaining it the lady was shocked that she wanted a club sandwich ASWELL AS THE BURGER!? There was two of us, we spoke to you when we came in! Did you think I had left since then. Listen to what customers say to you and even if she wanted both of those things herself don't be such a judgey bint.

Solid place for food and drink. Nice breakfast from early. Inside or out good set up. Busy from early on which is great to see. Good locally brewed beer-Briarbank

Stopped here for breakfast. Great food, great service and good covid measures. Look forward to coming back.

Great food and atmosphere timing of the food was incredible . Couldn't believe how fast it was and was tasty too. Small menu though and Pepsi max wasn't great
L. N.
Nice breakfast, easy to order on the app. Lovely view
C. M.
This place is lovely it's in a great location it's expanding all the time and it's always popular with local people it's biggest downfall is the fact that the beer is served in plastic glasses. Doesn't matter how nice the beer is when it's served in plastic it's never the same.
D. M.
Gets busy but even when busy the service is quick and good, plus food served within 20mins when busy. No complaints! Shows sky sports too which is a bonus!
T. C.
Can be busy on student nights due to the University near by, but other than that the food is great, lovely place to sit and have a few drinks with friends. Great sitting in a very historic building.
L. K.
Amazing place with amazing marina views. Plenty of space in and outside. Nice customer service. Price not so expensive for this area. Usually crowdy, especially on evenings.
J. B.
Atmosphere and food excellent unfortunately our waitress looked like she was forced to work

Nice atmosphere and brilliant setting. Drinks a little on the pricier side but not too mad and definitely worth it!
C. R. N.
It's ok for a drink but food is nothing amazing. The outdoors area is nice in the summer. The hire rooms are good for parties and events.
H. M.
Plenty of seating, good and relatively cheap food, alright choice of drinks.
L. M.
Very polite staff, good beers 🍻 outstanding experience.

Great pub food, definitely worth every penny and a perfect selection of drinks too! The location has a view straight into the Ipswich marina.
W. W.
Only went for a drink service a little slow but overall seem a ok place
K. C.
Service wasn't great. There was hardly anyone around and the dessert took twice as long as the mains, which didn't make any sense. Food wasn't exceptional either. Don't think I will be coming here again.
D. G.
Typical pub, having given a modern make-over. It is right next to the Marina, overlooking the yachts. Food is alright, staff is friendly.
s. s.
Great range of beers and other drinks can be a little crowded which is a concern with covid
D. W.
Nice place with great atmosphere, not the cheapest of drinks but with the caliber of people that attend is a good thing, a very social place to be in a Friday and Saturday night, but also excellent for a lunch during the day with good views of the Ipswich yachting scene.
J. M.
Lovely breakfast, really enjoyed it, staff very helpful. Breakfast again tomorrow!
S. F.
A really nice pub with a great garden and veranda. Classic pub grub, they've also got a pizza place on the side! Lovely in the summer.
J. C.
Perfect place to socialise, grab some drinks and a bite to eat whilst looking out over the water across the marina.
On a warm summer's evening this is THE place to be!
L. J.
We had an amazing evening in one of the domes. Faultless
H. W.
Relaxed atmosphere,reasonable prices,visible security.
Much of it is open air so this does mean people can smoke which is only negative point.
J. M.
Great restaurant, lovely food, highly recommend
R. C. T.
Always been fond of Isaacs, since reopening after lockdown, changed have been made, ordering from app on phone at table, entrance/exit changes, that kind of thing, but nothing too intrusive, still worth a visit, hopefully it doesn't lose its vibe.
A. C.
A truly special meal
Lovely venue in a beautiful location and delicious food. Family party 9 relaxed chatting drinking and laughing together perfect thank you
