Lovely atmosphere. The pub is designed lovely. I would class it as a hidden gem. You also get great quality food for value.

Have been here many times over the years to eat & to drink. On this occasion i chose the sirloin steak meal which iv'e had before, this time however it was'nt the best, small portions, dry jacket potatoe of which i had instead of chips, & two very shrivelled onion rings & peas. The steak was very chewy not a bad taste but very small disappointed. For a local pub it was packed with mostly men watching football, we headed outside & because it was hot got attacked by wasps constantly i won't be returning too soon.

An iconic 'estate pub'...an exemplar modernist public house that typifies the intention of community utility in a late 1960s private housing development. Jigsaws perfectly into the adjacent mini precinct of community shops and acts as a lynchpin to its surrounding habitat. British post-war working-class urban design at its utmost finest, an understated beacon of social mobility. Called into Man on the Moon a while back when I was down in Ipswich presenting at a research conference at the University of Suffolk. Nice to see the original layout still existed and the original pitched timber ceiling soffit still visible in most of the building. Seemed to be very well run by the management team on a day-to-day basis, and well operated by its owner, Greene King. Had a superb pie and chips and a pint of Guinness. All-in-all, a fantastic place to visit, in my opinion.

Staff is friendly and the place is clean.We drink and eat in this pub because of the review. I have ordered a signature Burger and its supposed to be tasty, unfortunately for me is 5/10. I find the burger bland and the fries is very crunchy and bit oily, the onion ringbis soggy, I didnt enjoyed my food. My husband on the otherhand ordered a steak and ale pie and did enjoy it but he said the plate is too small for the serving.

We go to quiz weekly and have food before quiz begins. Table is booked and waiting for us. Food is amazing value for money, good portion size, hot, and well cooked. Staff are friendly and welcoming and soon get to recognise when you go regularly. Parking is easily accessed, atmosphere throughout is good. Overall a great experience which I, and my quiz team, would highly recommend

Had to get ray away from house every day this week because of decorators so lunch and a pint at the moon has been great, with his illnesses we can’t go far the staff are friendly, the food good and Ray gets a good pint and of course my Gin tastes better in the pub. Thankyou all for making a long week easier for us, we’ll be back anyway . Why cook when I don’t have too. Also you are coping with social distancing really well.

Had a great selection of food to choose from with friendly staff. Food was fairly quick to arrive and was piping hot, tasted great. Prices are pretty good too. There's some parking outside , it was very busy on a Wednesday evening so could have done with bigger tables for bigger groups.

Food arrived quickly how ever not as described as beef burnt ends was more like stewing beef,in a bowl on top of chips with no salsa as on Menu. as it was somebody else's birthday no questions was asked. On a very hot evening 29° no air con or fans so as you can expect a pub full of people it was very warm and muggy. Not the worst place I've been to but on tonight's meal not the best either sadly.

A great pub with great staff and excellent food and drinks NORMALLY booked a certain table in October for a meal for Christmas two nights due to COVID party of six had to be three always been looked after by assistant manager nice lady Tonight arrived met by bubbly host who said we cant sit at the table we requested as the owners had moved us as they where going to sit at that table so we got put on a table in a dark corner but I had rang the pub the day before and they confirmed we where on the table asked for so we sat in the corner had ok food with great service and value for money I was willing to put this behind me until we left to see 3 people sitting at the table not the owners we had requested and no sign of food !!!!!! The same thing on wed when we ate we have tried to support the pub but seems rules for one and not the other Shame nice pub spoilt night

A lively local pub situated near Defoe Road. Opened in 1969 to commemorate the first moon landing. It offers food with a good family menu, there are pool tables and a smoking area outside. The usual beers and spirits are on offer and the staff are very pleasant and friendly. I recommend this pub as it is my local.

Since it's renovation (6 months ago ish) this place has improved beyond what it was before, the addition of new and revamped seating has brought a fresh and modern feel. The toilets were never refurbished, and to me, they let the place down. 95% of the staff are amazing and happy, however, there's a few people that further let this place down. The food it hit and miss, but cheap.

Excellent pub. Sserves the local community well. I had a steak and ale pie. It was disappointing to say the least. Plenty of pastry not much steak. The meal was microwaved which made the pie pastry doughy. The pie was dry as well.

A great, welcoming safe pub, as I have said before. The only regret that I, and a lot of people of a similar age have, is that they trashed all the spaceflight memorabilia when it was regenerated in the 1980's. The pub opened in 1969/70 to celebrate the Apollo 11 moon landing. There were large photographs of the mission all over the then two bars, but best of all was the entrance. In a case, there were large scale models of the Apollo craft - the whole Saturn V rocket, and the Command/Service modules, and the Lunar Excursion Module. At any time of day, there would be kids standing peeping through the door at this display, fascinated. All gone. Still a lovely pub, but you wish that...
