We had a delicious Sunday roast here, sepcial mention to the nut roast which is one of the most delicious veggie options I have had. Slightly let down by the service, there were a few tables in the bar whose reservations had not been properly booked in so there was a fairly long wait for the food and had to pop to the bar to get another drink, but we were not in a rush so we didn't mind much. All the staff were really friendly and welcoming. It seemed like a place which attracts regulars back time and time again and fostered a social atmosphere.

Coming back from a ride to south-end my friend I were getting hungry. We saw a sign for the Highwayman pub along with the knife and fork symbol so pulled in. This was at 2030ish, not only were they happy to cook food at that time of night but the landlord really made us feel welcome. Can not stress how at home we felt in this place neither of us had set foot in before. Had a fantastic steak (mate had a burger that he rated very high) good size portion of chips with each. Very relaxed and quiet inside, comfy too. Highly recommended

Attended the recent Ukrainian indepence day event for a 3 course meal which we thoroughly enjoyed with a bottle of wine. As usual David gave us a lovely welcome. An oasis of calm and tranquility on the A140 thank you.

Me and my wife hosted our wedding meal at the highwayman. The food was absolutely delicious all of our guests agreed. David and Olga were very professional and accommodating to our needs and the serving staff were all very friendly. The building itself is beautiful, all of this made our wedding meal unforgettable. Beautiful quiet pub and restaurant! Lovely friendly staff the service was great and the food was perfect I had the steak, it was massive 😂 my partner has the duck breast which was also incredible, definitely going again soon and recommending to family.

First time here. Visited for lunch. Very old building but whilst beamed and having a very comfortable and cosy feeling, it is still airy and very light due to the fantastic large windows looking out to the pretty garden. Arriving to a very warm welcome from the owner, he invited us to sit down whilst he organised drinks and brought over menus. I ordered a smoked salmon and prawn dish to begin and my Sister ordered warm goats cheese with a walnut and beetroot salad. Complimentary rolls and butter were brought to the table and then our starters... Both beautifully presented and equally delicious, if you have a smaller appetite, the goats cheese would be enough for a main course. We then ordered the house speciality chicken in mushroom sauce, which came with a lovely selection of fresh vegetables, and a seafood platter. I don't usually order chicken but would have this again in a heartbeat. It was a generous, succulent breast in the most flavoursome sauce... I highly recommend it. The seafood platter, I'm assured, was also amazing. Too full for desserts, we skipped straight to freshly brewed coffee which was beautifully hot, had a lovely flavour and was served with cream and a mint chocolate. At £27 p/h for 2 courses, soft drinks and coffees, it's a very reasonable price for delicious food in lovely surroundings. Will definitely be going again :)

Walked here from Needham today and had a delicious anniversary meal. Could not fault a thing. And lovely friendly welcome too. Definitely be back. Roast dinners are amazing.
