S. Y.City centre location, extremely spacious - they have both indoor and outdoor space. Make sure you catch every corner of this fancy place cuz it is so cool! Came here on my birthday which was a Monday so it was not busy at all. Interesting vibe and trendy decor. Such a good place for friends to hangout and have a drink. Their foods are amazing!! With so many vegan options avaialble. I got malaysian curry it tastes light but so tasty. Good selections of foods and drinks with good price. Fab staff with good service! I enjoyed a lot!

A. L.My first time to what I've come to understand is a local favourite. It felt very covid secure, and the atmosphere in was buzzing. There's roofed seating which is perfect for a rainy day (you never need to cancel your plans). There's also just seats dotted in three courtyard if you want to catch a bit of sun with your cold beer. Plenty of food and beverage choices that you order and pay for on your phone. The food was fresh, hot and delicious. No bland fare here! Would definitely go back again to try the pizza and cocktails!

Got served really quickly, I had a perfectly made vodka lime and soda, believe me these can be made badly.
There is a good atmosphere in this bar with mixed age groups. The courtyard and covered terrace has always been a huge asset to this bar and the whole area was full, so we sat inside at a table that was hurriedly cleared and cleaned for us.
I have visited this place many times and will keep returning.

C.The worst thing about this place is that you have to choose only one thing from the menu! It all sounds so good! I'd recommend the korean-style boneless bites - they were ace. The waffle in the sweet-freak burger didn't work quite so well, so if you order that then swap one of the bun sides for the waffle and you'll do just fine! Decent beer selection too. If you're in Leeds, go here!
D. M.I have visited the venue in Leeds on numerous occasions and the quality of food and the atmosphere never fails to disappoint. Today I had the big cow burger with sides of jerk slaw and sweet potato fries. I could have easily done without any side holidays as the burger with its brisket coating cheese and and onion toppings was humongous. If you're feeling the hunger and are in Leeds I would recommend giving this place a try, you managed to go on a diet afterwards however
M.Can’t ever fault nation tbh! Shout out to the whole team. Food was so good yesterday (the vegan beyond burger every time) and the plum porter ale is my fave! Love the art in the toilets too. Bloody great.

L. J.I recently went on a Saturday afternoon/evening. The staff were fantastic and I couldn’t fault them. I had the wings which were really good, which I was recommended by a member of staff. The beers were all good and reasonably priced. Music selection was good also. One of my favourite bars in Leeds and I would recommend to anyone who is thinking of visiting Leeds for a night out.

C. J.First visit back in a very long time, service was faultless doesn't matter how busy the bar was there was someone there to serve you and really friendly too. Remember why we used to frequent so often in our younger years!! Good selection of drinks too but very limited on vodka, why only 2 when you have 10/15 of all other spirits?!!

It's popular and can be hard to find a table if you're visiting at a weekend or after work.
I've recently tried the pepperoni pizza too, which I have to say is the best I've ever eaten out side of Italy!

N. W.NofS, my personal experience was marred by factors outside of your control. The need to QR scan in and Table app order, with limited menu. My phone would not open the table app, fortunately my friend ordered for me. I much prefer to be served by a person and have interaction with staff, I understand this was not possible at the time of my visit. The atmosphere & food were of good quality & value.

M. J.My daughter and I visited the Leeds Nation of Shopkeepers, which was pre booked on line. The service received was exemplary from both Hannah and Billy. They throughly checked ingredients and catered for my dietary needs. The food was was delicious. Highly recommend the tobacco onions as a side dish.
Overall venue is lovely, staff professional, food delicious and site is covid secure. Plus outside heating!!

M. T.Went on a Sunday for lunch and it wasn't too busy. Lovely atmosphere and plenty of spaces to sit inside or outside. We went to also try the vegan menu, I've had the vegan lasagna and it was fantastic.
Jus had a pint of cider as I don't really drink but the drinks menu was quite big so I don't think anybody would be disappointed.
Highly raccomanded for a meal or few drinks out. Also for vegans as they have plenty to choose from.
m. t.I went for the first time for a Sunday lunch with some friends. I decided to go because they have a good range of vegan food. Me and my sister had the vegan lasagna, it was delicious. My friends wanted to have a Sunday roast but unfortunately was unavailable and they had a roast chicken instea.
The atmosphere was lovely, we were sat outside but the inside looked also very nice. The staff was very friendly.
The only thing that was under my expectations was the service. The food took a whike to come even if place wasn't busy at all maybe they have less staff in the kitchen on Sunday but I will definitely come again.

The bad - the food is ok... but there's loads of better places to eat in town. Most frustrating is that kids aren't allowed in at the weekends, not even during middle of the day... which is crazy, for a 'child friendly' city.

C. L.This is quite an unknown pub (in my opinion) and it's definitely a hidden gem. The drinks are well priced, the outside area is lovely the staff are freindly. It delivers a real home-pub feel and it's in the very heart of leeds city centre! My boyfreind ate here and he loved the food, we cant wait to return once lockdow is over. My loss of the star however is because the place seemed to lack lighting inside, it was really very dark! And there weren't many people there so the atmosphere wasnt great but that may well have been due to the off-peak time we visited :)

M. R.Was a little sceptical of this place because it was very quiet when we arrived. Was not disappointed, food was amazing quality for the price. The menu was so varied - had everything from wings to pub classics. There was even a whole section for vegan / vegetarian which suited my friend very well. Fish and Chips with mushy peas are a must! A full meal was less than £12 and drinks were also reasonable too. Great choice of ciders! Can’t wait to return.

However it is the second time it happened today that they told me I had to wait 1 hour for food - I can see there is some people in here, but 1 hour to deliver burger and chips it’s a bit too much. Please consider replacing the cook or buy new equipment.

Y. R.I really enjoy coming here. There's some great food, and a good spirit selection. While there are a broad selection of beers, I often find myself coming back to the Camden brewery beers that are mainstays on the taps, as some of the guests are disappointing. Never a bad suggestion as a place to eat or drink though!

P. M. (.There was a queue at the door when we arrived. This is always a good sign. The weather outside was really cold. We requested an inner table. The staff understood and managed to find us one.
We ordered our food. I had the burger and my son had the chicken. It came with some really nice homemade chips. Presentation was lovely too. The food was delicious. No wonder the queue!
K. G.A nice comfy pub with an exceptionally nice out door area. The outside has both an open area and an area covered by awning, great for our hard to predict weather. Not a bad selection of beers and ales as well. Like most pubs in or near the city centre it gets very busy at peak times and you will struggle to find seating.

A. G.This is more of a contemporary hip bar with nice decor and good atmosphere. The best thing about it is the beer garden which is very large, cozy and looks great in the evenings when the lights are on. It has a good selection of cocktails and drinks. The main negative about it is that music in there was extremely loud. There was not a lot of people in the bar itself when we went there on friday but the music was still blasting. Then we entered the beer garden and everyone was there - probably like us escaping the loud music inside. Not a place where you would go if you actually want to chat and hear each other. But maybe it is like that only on the weekends. The beer garden is great, so will be returning for that.

E. K.I have been here many time throughout the years. This place have never stopped evolving. Last time in September 2018 new roofed outside area and super covered outside area are great for a good time in a nice weather while inside area is perfect to order some food, listen to music or play boardgames. This place has two entrances - main and outside one, so it is easy to leave. In the night time it can be surprisingly packed as it becomes a disco-party-club.

There's loads to choose from on the menu and the food is always the best quality. Would definitely recommend this venue to anyone, for a quiet drink or a good night out. The courtyard is one of the best in Leeds and the drinks range is amazing.
C. S.They usually have a decent range of beer and the food is good. I really like the tobacco onion side, which are small crispy fried onions that are a bit spicy.
Otherwise I had the chicken katsu burger which was good but could have benefitted maybe from a few veggies on the burger. It only had the chicken and the sauce.

A. R.We've been to eat at nation 4 times recently and every time the food has been great! My husband loves the big cow burger and the lobster mac n cheese, I have had a few of the salads which are all really fresh and lovely and the hippie burger is tasty too (really nice to have a veggie burger that doesn't fall apart) The beer selection is good and there are plenty of decent soft drinks too. The staff are friendly and efficient and I love that we can bring our dog!

R. G.Staff are mixed - sometimes excellent, sometimes too cool for school. Either way, it's not a major deal. It's not like anyone's rude, but aloof on occasion. And of course, it's one of the best places to sit out in the city centre. Not because it's a gorgeous garden, but because it's massive and there's loads of room for all. It also has to be said, I really enjoy the weird bathroom noises. (Birds, air sirens, odd talking.) But often that's marred by a bit of a sewage smell.

S.Great place. We came for lunch and was nice and chilled. Service was 5*. Food was good; burgers and tasty treacle bacon. And they serve poutine!! Rare find in the UK. And of course an excellent selection of craft beer and cider.

Once again they did not disappoint as the burgers are truly spectacular (They were great portions, full of flavor and not greasy. Definitely on the top 10 in Leeds) and the atmosphere was good too. My only criticism would be the chips which could have been a tad bigger but we can't all be perfect can we?

been coming for 241 on burgers for years now. the vegan hippy burger is pretty dope if you add some of that hawt scotch bonnet sawce. also the new beyond meat vegan burger is IN. SANE. I've eaten that an endless amount of times now.
the staff always know what's vegan to drink too and the craft beer selection is normally excellent. I've definitely seen the odd vegan ale on too.
they have board games (we love a bit of scrabble on a chilled sunday) and the best beer garden in the city. never so busy that you can't relax and in the height of summer it's lush

Inside is large and friendly with a hipster crowd, except on Friday and Saturday nights when the big groups change the vibe. J. J.Quaint décor and the seating area wasn't uncomfortable. My partner and I ordered burgers which were tasty. The chips that come with the burgers also tasted good but there weren't many on the plate which was a disappointment - particularly given the price of the meal.
Drinks were fine, the usual range plus a couple of real ales, although no Archers for my partner's lemonade.
A great venue if you're in Leeds looking for a burger on a Sunday night, just don't expect to be feeling full afterwards.

S. D.Nation of Shopkeepers is an amazing pub/bar, with a huge, crowded bar full of bunting and random memorabilia. We went on Saturday, and the indoors venue was taken up with all-day gigs - but who wants to be indoors on a day that sunny?
The big beer garden was full of smily boys and girls in their twenties and thirties, listening to music and drinking unusual booze like Fruli (raspberry beer) and Mexican lager - which seem to be standard up here.
Given that the atmosphere was so cool and friendly, we didn't expect much of the food (thinking it was a pub, not a restaurant) - we were wrong. My chorizo and halloumi burger was the stuff of dreams: a big juicy burger, in a bun, topped with chorizo and grilled halloumi (I presumed it was a burger made of chorizo and halloumi) served with a huge pile of chips with their skin on.
A full five stars for this place - I just wished they'd move it nearer to my house.
