We visited to take advantage of the fantastic 2 for 1 pizza deal at the end of a stressful day and had a lovely laid back evening at the Barnbow. The food was cooked just how we like it being tasty, hot and fresh, with both the food and drinks also being great value for money. Our drinks were a little slow to come after ordering on the app but, the team were very apologetic when they realised we had been waiting a while and were also quick to rectify the issue although, we weren’t in any rush anyway. In contrast, our pizza’s arrived very quickly and the stuffed crust option is well worth the upgrade. We finished with a rocky road sundae which, is an indulgent delight and in all honesty is huge so, there was plenty for two people to share but, the highlight for us was the friendly service we received. Sue was very helpful and went out of her way to make our visit enjoyable. Nothing was to much hassle even when she was busy serving other tables and she definitely made us feel welcome to return again in the future! Overall it was exactly what we were looking for and although not applicable to us, this pub is very family friendly too which, is nice to see as, those kind of pubs are rarer to find these days! We would certainly recommend paying this place a visit!

We come here every Sunday for lunch and always have a nice time. Beth and sue always look after us really well along side the rest of the staff. Meal wise, it’s always hot and tastes good. The Sunday beef is always good, and the off carvery item are cooked fresh and quickly. Overall, friendly, clean and good portions

£9.99 for Sunday carvery, for meats, turkey, beef, gammon and pork. I had the beef and turkey.. Very tasty.. Lots of vegetables on show.. All from frozen bar swede mash and cauliflower, Brussels sprouts were hard to bite.. Decent choice of drinks at the bar. It's not a Tobey but there's more choice. Would we come here again? Yes.

So today was our first ever meal out after my wife has had a gastric sleeve, people who have had this surgery find restaurants not being understand of small portions being ordered. I have to say that the team at Barnbow was so understanding and helpful. Ethan who is only 17 years of age took on the situation and passed on to the kitchen staff. He showed compassion and understanding beyond his years. We also took our artistic boy and Rachel must of sensed his needs and just became so engaging and understanding to him with no rush in regards to his order. To many these little acts of kindness and understanding to some would not mean much but to us of a family it has. This restaurant is now our go too place for our Sunday dinners. 5 star job today team at Barnbow. Keep up the amazing work

Nice carvery, the gammon and roast potatoes were lovely. Yorkshire puddings we’re a let down though, small and very crispy - even after they were soaked in gravy. Staff were great, server Beth is doing a great job. Definitely be back though.

Went for Sunday lunch. Decent food, but not a superb selection on Sunday—eg, no wraps and carvery is significantly ramped up in price. Food was tasty, though. My wife and her friend had the carvery, which they enjoyed, whilst I had the "carvery-filled calzone". Calzones are often quite hit and miss and places like this, normally being very dough-heavy. This one was actually very nice, though; I can certainly recommend it!

Excellent service and food was gorgeous I went for a garlic bread starter which was a big pizza sized one which I wasn't expecting and that was nice then a Dirty clucker burger which was amazing and more than I could eat it was like a tower, really tasteful and highly recommended! definitely would come again, also thanks to Sue the waiter she was helpful when we needed hot water for our baby's milk bottle ect so thanks appreciate it 👌

Previously I had given 2 stars to this pub, however following today's visit, they have gained a star for a lovely pizza. The staff and food were really good, but unfortunately they've let themselves down with the cleaning, particularly in the ladies bathroom really let them down. The ceiling is coated in black mould and damp, and the dust is caked thick. I did leave feeling a bit like if that's the state of bathroom what are the kitchens like?

Great value meal offers on certain days. We visited Monday when it's 2-for-1 on pizzas and burgers. There were three of us and when we ordered they reminded we may as well take 4 meals for the same cost as 3. Great value, not great for watching the wasteline ;-) The Leeds Pale was on form too.

Delicious carvery, lots of fresh veg and selection of 4 meats and roast potatoes to die for. The cauliflower cheese was obviously frozen cauliflower so avoided that but all in all, a really good meal. The lady behind the bar was absolutely fantastic - nothing was too much trouble and she was very friendly and helpful, as we're all the staff. Will definitely visit again. Prices very reasonable too.

We only came for dessert. 9 of us in the group we ordered 6 children bottomless ice-cream. The staff were so attentive. One of the children have allergies, the staff checked before us ordering. Then they made sure the cutlery the child had was cleaned again. They also double checked all the ingredients. Great service and the carvery did look good. We will definitely try next time

We'd been to the Ninja Warrior experience and decided to continue the fun with a carvery. Google told us this was the closest one and so we went, knowing nothing about it and having never been. We are SO glad we did! The menu had a decent choice and the prices were very reasonable. Nothing we ate had any flaws, and we had a brilliant time. Most of the staff were outstanding. Couldn't have asked for more friendly and helpful people, and a special mention to the waitress we kept harassing by the silver polishing station. She went above and beyond to make our visit a good one. This would have been a five star review, however we arrived at five - which was the earliest we could book online for tea - and they had run out of all meat except for turkey. So with two members of the party having had their heart set on gammon, that wasn't great. So if you're going to go - which you should - go early for a lunch!

Great staff in the events room last Friday (08/10/2021), buffet issue for vegans was sorted very quickly and managed to get an amazing burger in place quickly. Loved the building but the event space only thing was it felt too big roof height wise. Enough space for a second floor 👀🤌🏼

We frequently visit the Barnbow as it has been my local for about 15years now. Today we dropped in just to try out the new menu they’ve launched. I had the double bacon cheeseburger meal and my partner the crispy bbq chicken burger. We also ordered a side of mozzarella pizza pin wheels. As always the food was top notch and the burgers were really tasty. Great food so hats off to the chefs. The pin wheels were also very nice and something different. Bar staff were pleasant and always helpful. We were served by sue at our table who brought our food out. Great service and very helpful as always. We’ll definitely be back to dine out again here. The Barnbow is fantastic. It has been my regular haunt for some years now and the warm welcome never appears to dissipate. Breakfast again this morning was beautiful. Sunday lunch carvery was excellent ,food piping hot and fresh, 4meat choices all beautifully cooked. 2 of our party required gluten free this was requested on booking and apart from cauliflower cheese everything was gluten free even the Yorkshire puddings and gravy. Wesley greeted us and took our order Kieron was the chef both very helpful as were all staff we had dealings with. Highly recommend will definitely be coming again.

I have no idea what as happened to this place. Very clean and tidy, friendly staff, the food was nicely cooked but extremely bland and the small carvery was on a side plate. Covered the food in salt and pepper and still made no difference. Would return if everywhere else was full. It's a shame because it was one of our favourite places to eat before covid!!

Bex at the Barnbow pub Crossgates is an amazing asset to the company. We visited and she couldn't of been any more helpful, efficient, pleasant and a real hard working individual. Bex made our visit to the pub for breakfast such an enjoyable experience, we visited again 3days later. Unfortunately she wasn't on duty, but we were served by a very nice young lady, which I found out later was Bex's daughter. I approached 2ladies sitting at a table who appeared to be management and informed them both of our visit and experience previously. They were both very polite and thanked us for approaching them both with such good feedback. We will return again soon great spacious place to visit for a cheap brekkie 👍👍👍

Nice, peaceful atmosphere. Visited midweek at 6pm. Ordered pizzas and understandably re covid no salad/pasta buffet available. Only chips were offered as an alternative which we didn't want. Bowls of individual side salad would have been totally acceptable... surely? Wouldn't have ordered pizza if made aware. Not everyone wants chips with everything! Disappointing.

I just wish that the vegetarian breakfast came with unlimited vegetarian sausages like the normal breakfast does. I do recommend the veggi breakfast how ever as the sausages are great. There is also unlimited tea and coffee for £1.99 with breakfast and that is very reasonable.

I have been in here now 3 times over the last month for their unlimited breakfast which on the whole is tasty, very filling and great value at £4.49 (mushrooms a bit extra, but are lovely) the staff are friendly and helpful, its a great way to peacefully start your day. The only negative for me is the bacon is a bit tough unless any fresh has come out and the beans are too runny but thats just my taste. Will go again soon.

Went as a family of six adults today for Sunday carvery. All tables was reserved with bookings. The manager (Ben) kindly adapted a table of 4 seats to accommodate the 6 of us, going the extra mile for us, very much appreciated. Service from bar staff was fast, efficient and tentative, ( them serving guests in order of attending the bar). The food was cooked lovely and enjoyed by all 6 of our group. The managermand staff worked very hard today in a full to bursting public house. Thank you for a lovely relaxing Sunday lunch time from me & my family.

Had Sunday carvery & it was pretty good. Meat very nice, veg & potatoes cooked well & no long queues or waits like you can get elsewhere. Also more room around the tables so you don't feel hemmed in. You pay a bit more than others I've been to, but worth it for reasons mentioned above. I do think they are a couple of green veg short of excellence (only peas) & the ladle for the gravy was ridiculously small - like trying to get it on your plate with a tea spoon!

Service was good, apart from I ordered a calzone and not a signature pizza. There was a bit of a delay for service, but the chef apologised from the offset. The updated menu looks good too. It would be good to do a 2 or 3 course menu too.

My partner and I went to the barnbow looking forward to pizza only to be told there was only carvery available so was disappointed then I learnt The reason why. The chef had slipped in the kitchen and was awaiting an ambulance the carvery was very tasty and all the food was hot. The young man behind the bar was super friendly and the young girl clearing the tables was a star well done to the staff coping in this difficult time for them we had a lovely evening

Had a carvery after eating I was asked by young member of staff how was it well I said I thought the carrots was under cooked and didnt get a good portion of meat. A Manager then came over apologised and offered me free pudding. Very happy with the service I got and will be back 10/10 for taking notice of my feelings about my meal

I always venture to the Barnbow as it is my local pub. Been comming in here for around 9 years. Im always welcomed in a friendly manner. The new covid service process works well with been greeted at the door scanning NHS track and trace follwed by sanitation of the hands. You choose a table or allocated depending on how many people and how busy it might be. Its no where near the same as it used to be post covid but this is as good as it gets anywhere you go these days. Payment on card or phone is brought to ypur table upon service of drinks. Food is good, I usually get 2 for one pizza on a monday eat one in house with a few pints then eat my 2nd later that evening or even for breakfast the next day. All round good pub, Just taken a hit from covid so its a little quieter but apart from that 5 stars in my book!

The food is nice and reasonable prices, definitely an improvement since the refurbishment. Staff are the only issues I really have, when its not very busy all the staff seem to disappear and leave you stood waiting for a long time, when they do finally decide to come out to serve you they are quite rude and rush your order so they can get back to playing hide and seek.

The staff are lovely and really helpful, but they're so understaffed they are rushed off their feet with how busy it was so it took ages to order food or drinks and 40 mins for a kids meal to arrive which was stone cold. It's cheap food so I guess you get what you pay for because I had the carvery and it was as though it had been sat there for a week, I actually bent a fork trying to cut the Yorkshire pudding. Desserts are lovely and we did get a discount when signing up to the emaisl.

I drove past this pub on my way home and Google asked me to review it. This is a nice pub to drive past. It acts as a visual segue between the derelict factories and Manston Park. It takes approximately 2 - 3 seconds to drive past from East to West but if you are travelling north up Austhorpe Road you will maintain 10-15 seconds of visual contact after you come over the railway bridge. On brief inspection there seems to be ample paking and plenty of room for smokers to congregate at the front. I will definitely drive past this pub again.
