Reviews of Fly Line Garforth

Nice, clean family pub.
Staff are really friendly, good service is fast and the childrens play area outside is brill.
Few wasps about but to be expected in the summer eating outside.
Childrens meals are a good size and the carvery was brill too.
Gammon was absolutely lovely!
Dessert wise, there is a lot of choice!
D. R.
Had a wonderful meal for two, super value and very tasty. Excellent service, staff polite and helpful. Thank you.
A. R.
Really nice pub to come to when out and about in the area. We got 2 carverys and usually it's really good but on this Monday afternoon we went it wasn't so great. Not a lot of choice, things looked to be left our for a long time and pig's in blankets tasted if they had beeb microwaved.
Usually it's great and we have no issue but we would usually go on an evening or a weekend. Shame the standard drops through the day midweek!
S. S.
Found this little gem last week and it's now top of my favourite list! The dedicated NGCI (non-gluten containining ingredients) menu is a huge plus for me. There's a carvery available daily and the food is delicious, generously portioned and well priced. Would definitely recommend 👌

We had a party of 9 and our table was ready and waiting for us. Staff were polite, helpful and welcoming. We all enjoyed our meals, mostly carvery, well stocked and hot. Burgers went down well too. We were celebrating a 30th birthday.
D. D.
Staff were excellent. Tall guy with a beard was amazing. They do a fab happy birthday rendition. So for staff I'd give
them a 5* rating. Had the beef carvery. Beef was terrible, vegetables average. Would go back for a drink but not for food.
S.
Had a carvery here this weekend and we were very impressed. The staff were so helpful and friendly, and the food was great. I was very happy with the veggie options too, it’s nice to see somewhere that caters well for vegetarians. Will definitely be returning!

Popped in on Saturday evening with a group of 13 for my birthday. Had dropped off a pre-order the night before, and within 10 minutes of confirming everyone was here, the piping hot food was served. Really well looked after by Joanne and her team. Will definitely go back, lots on the menu to have next time.
B.
First visit and enjoyed it, food was a choice of carvery, or various items on the menu, so plenty of choice. The staff were great, I'm definitely coming back. A word of caution tho, the car park is shared by various retail outlets and is managed by a car parking agent, so you only have a maximum 3hrs parking. A bonus tho is directly opposite are some electric vehicle charge points, so you can refuel your car AND yourself.

For 6 weeks I would pop into The Fly Line every week for food and found the staff incredibly helpful, friendly and conversational.
Antony and Joanne always had a friendly smile when I came in and made me feel incredibly welcome - even remembering my order!
The food was absolutely banging too! And though I would often walk in, I would always roll out.

Visited on a trip back to Durham from Liverpool for a bite to eat.
Great location, especially with the gorgeous weather we currently have. The service by Reece was brilliant, my friend and I were made to feel right at home with Reece’s welcoming smile! 💖
Definitely will be visiting again when we pass this way!
R. L.
Eaten at this pub on several occasions and never been disappointed until our most recent visit. Always have a steak and the most recent offering was poor, seemed small and was overcooked. Rather than complain we ate our meals and left, won't be returning.
M. S.
We were looking for somewhere for dinner with friends visiting from Australia and booked here as a bit of a chance as we had not been before and to be honest had our doubts as "chain pubs" can be hit and miss. Our doubts were completely misfounded. Food was of a good standard, reasonably priced and plentiful, service was first class and the restaurant was spotless even after a busy Bank Holiday. We would definitely reccomend. We'll done to all
A. K.
Lovely birthday celebration here. The staff were amazing. They helped with setting up the tables, the service was really good, nothing was too much trouble. Lots of people commented on how nice the food was. The chef even carried the carvery meals of a couple of guests with mobility issues to their table. A lovely time was had by all and a big thank you to all the staff team.
S. B.
It was 'ok' just about sums it up. My friend had a steak and said it was 'ok' I had a chicken burger which was overcooked which meant the meat and the hash brown were hard. I ended up leaving most of it.
The young man who brought our food and cleared out plates was very pleasant and chatty, he was the best part about this place
T. T.
Wonderful meal. Great Vegan options too and staff were just lovely. Lovely atmosphere. We will definitely be back!
R. F.
An 'ok' carvery meal. Everything just a little overdone. Beef was cut paper-thin, dry at the edges and clearly left out for quite a while. Turkey was good and well cooked but nothing special. Pork also dry at the edges and a bit gristly. Roast potatoes were almost too firm to cut with the (blunt) knife provided, parsnips were on the borderline of burnt, stuffing and yorkshires were a bit dry, even when doused with the gravy.
On the plus side, the restaurant was nicely laid out and clean with plenty of seating, service was fine, prices weren't too bad and the selection of veg was good.
P. P.
Easy to order. Food came out very quickly and the order was accurate. An ideal place to go if you only have an hour for lunch.
d. i.
A new pub that has been purposely built. It serves what you would expect on a pub menu, but with imaginative variations. I had a burger, which was very good. Decent portion size. Good service and food came quickly. Clean and modern inside. Has outdoor seating. Typical children's menu. Average prices.
J. W.
If I was rating Reece our 17yr old waiter it would have been 5 ☆ but I can only give it 4 because of my main meal. A fundamental part of this the giant Yorkshire pudding I sent back because it was bland and like cardboard, my replacement one was just as bad so I ended up eating the filling and Reece got me a free pudding to make up for that which was amazing!!!! Not a great first meal but I would go back.Vegan menu available and very family friendly, not cheapest place but not a bank breaker either.Worth a visit if only to experience genuinely well trained staff.Reece you did them proud!!!!
A. J.
Very friendly staff , nothing is too much
Food is always tasted amazing even the vegetable carvery .
Atmosphere always good
g. t.
I have been coming here since it opened and have to say it has just got better and better. The staff actually like their jobs and it shows. I can not recommend this place enough.
N. S.
Food is mediocre, Carvery was reasonable for £7.00.
Real ale is great, wainwrights and Marstons pedigree both spot on and pulled well.
Nice patio are to sit out on a sunny day, staff friendly and helpful
A. D.
Service itself was pretty good but the food itself wasn't that palliable.. we offered some nachos to share and some garlic bread.. and thats the worst nachos I have ever had!!
After a bit or two I had given up on it.
Our other friends had ordered carvery and they complained the beef was too dry and tasted just OK too.
Must say the desserts options are quite a bit to choose from and portions are really good for the price.
I tried eclairs cake and it was very nice..
If you guys are from around this area, do suggest something that I could try on my next visit..
D. G.
Our latest visit here was really good, we tried to make a booking by phone but got no reply as it was a busy father's Day but surprisingly they called us back and we made a booking. When we arrived there we were met at the door by a staff member. We were given a table and we placed our order, the staff were all young and usually this isn't a great sign but they were all really attentive and polite which we loved. The food was really well presented and tasted lovely.
J. H.
Party of 14. The carvery was excellent with a good choice of meat, potatoes and vegetables. The staff were polite and very helpful. The restaurant is spacious and very clean. Have been a few times and would recommend it.
D. G.
We had a fabulous carvery, cooked to perfection. The was plenty of room between the tables. Not packed in like some places. The staff were all lovely and friendly.whilst the pub and the toilet areas was lovely and clean. Will be definitely visiting again.
J. S.
Fantastic Sunday lunch today after Go Ape at Temple Newsam. Staff really friendly and helpful. Care taken with the food. Carvery marvellous....amazing choice, lovely meat and veggies a bit out of the ordinary. Thumbs up all round.....and my 13 year old son was full at the end which is nothing short of miraculous!
R. L.
We had a table for 6 reserved at 4pm today, this is how it went, the food was really nice and good value for money, the bar staff and table staff were all really nice too, but one called Charlotte was very polite and friendly and attentive.
We all had a good time many thanks.
Regards
Reg and family
j. r.
We had the carvery which was delicious. All the meat was spot on. Pedigree beer was lovely and staff courteous, the manager, Rhian, in particular treats you like a regular. It is our 'to go to' place we like it.
C. “. B.
Can't fault it. Food and service both excellent. Will definitely be back for more 👍
P. P.
Superb meals with large well cooked food, fantastic atmosphere, great selection of beers.very polite waiters, clean and comfy restaurant, really enjoyed ourselves.
a. r.
We had the rump steak and it was very tasty, not tough and had clearly been allowed to rest. Excellent value.
P. A. B.
Nice staff, nice plase. Dishes are ok. I would improve the carvery quality, especially the potatoes.
b.
Excellant service, pleasant staff, no issues, nice warm food. No rushing
J. A.
Lovely public house, carvery and restaurant. Family friendly and reasonably priced Variety of meals and children's menu plus carvery and cake counter. Staff very helpful.
w. d.
All the staff are lovely. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Delicious carvery.
A. W.
Lovely place, lovely staff and food always spot on.
Anthony served us this time round....he was very pleasant and we'll mannered.
S. N.
We had to change the booking a few times and the customer service was great! The table was ready for us when we arrived and the service at the bar was quick and easy. The food all came out warm and at the same time which was great to say there were 9 people and 4 separate orders! The waiter was polite, friendly and very good at his job.
Food was good and priced well.
C. E.
Staff were ace, very friendly & accommodating, just forgot to tell us to go get cavery before the menu food arrived. Not the end of the world though. Food was beautiful, had to take away dessert because we were stuffed. Cakes were huge! Lovely evening. Thank you.
l. w.
Great pub for a carvery, friendly helpful staff
Hole place was clean and the team cleaned down every table when customers had finished using them. Would definitely recommend for a cheap and cheerful lunch / dinner.
G. S.
Great value carvery especially when you have a 30% off voucher
L.
Visited the Fly Line for dinner after my friends kept recommending it to me. I was not disappointed, easily one of the best carvery's I've ever had. The staff was also really great, especially Daryl who I believe was a chef, he went above and beyond, will definitely be coming back.
R. R.
Very pleasant cheerful staff made us feel welcome.
All enjoyed meal although the pigs in blankets could have done with 10 minutes more in the oven and they don't do mash anymore little niggle .
We certainly doing another visit soon
C. S.
A really lovely friendly place. The meals we had was outstanding. Beautifully cooked the portions was plentyful. Service brilliant. Thanks to the chef Pete for his service the carvery was delicious. Mixed grills cooked to perfection.
m. h.
Nice relaxed atmosphere, food is okay, good value for money, polite staff, don't forget to submit your car registration number for extended parking time.
M. W.
We enjoy going to the Fly Line, but although it wasn't greatly busy service was slow. We paid extra for pigs in blankets and it was missed off one of the plates so I had to go and speak to someone about it.
S. E.
A more than pleasant welcome matched equally with a great selection of drinks and a rather yummy carvery to boot! Cheers for a crackin time!!!
M. D.
Excellent food n well priced, homely atmosphere
P. D.
Friendly staff, nice atmosphere and lovely carvery.

L. F.
I love this place!! Best Carvery I have had in a long time, meat was so nice and the veg choice is so good! Mez the Carvery chef was so helpful and friendly too, she helped me take my kids food back to the table!! Great service and amazing food!! Definitely would recommend and can’t wait to go back!
K. H.
really enjoyable lunchtime for our sons birthday lovely food great service relaxing atmosphere would definitely recommend the carvery great time thanks.
J. N.
Great place, friendly and helpful staff. Good value, good choice on menu.
K. R.
First visit and won't be our last, exceptional customer service by a young team, well done to all, this is how it should be done. The young manager is a credit and asset to the company. Food was delicious, plenty of choice, reasonable prices, relaxed atmosphere, clean pub. Thanks to all for a lovely evening, we will be recommending to friends and family.
G. C.
My friend and I go most Friday mornings for breakfast and it is lovely and staff are always polite and helpful
R. H.
The food was good, didn't have to wait long. Everything was in good order, clean and a good atmosphere. The staff were really nice to us too.
K. L.
We had a fabulous time at the Flyline in Saturday to celebrate our daughter's First Holy Communion, the carvery was gorgeous and our guests who had them said the desserts were delicious, huge portions. Every single member of staff were so attentive and couldn't do enough for us. Anthony and Reece made sure everything went well and were always checking we were all OK. The head chef came out and cut the cake which we really appreciated as I know she will have been very busy in the kitchen. Thank you to all the staff, you made our day more relaxing and stress free. xx
J. B.
Very polite friendly staff
Value for money hot food delicious food
k. t.
Each of our mains and a dessert had advertised items missing.
No caramalised onions with sausage and mash
No bloomer with the Scampi
No strawberry sauce with the Lemon cheesecake
Lack of attention to detail!
Can the entrance door be put on a 'soft close' as it BANGS all the time!
n. w.
Absolutely lovely night was had by all the family. Celebrated my mums special birthday here last week, food was quick to arrive, very tasty and the staff who dealt with us that night were fantastic! Thank you so much Reese and Rian for making my mums night very special. We will definitely return.
C. B.
We visited on a Sunday for the carvery. Good value for money, the carvery food was excellent and above the expected standard for the price. You place your order at the bar then take your token to the carvery (we had a kids meal so was invited to sit until the kids meal was ready before approaching the carvery). Your server will offer a choice of meats at the carvery counter and then you are able to help yourself to vegetables. The kids food options seemed promising and was to an acceptable standard however, the starter wasn't exactly what was ordered and the peas were clearly overcooked as had lost their colour. Plenty of outdoor seating and the staff were all very friendly and welcoming.
J. D.
friendly staff . Had to stand a while to be setted. We had bar service. Food was OK had a carvery. So not much vegetables options. Meet was a little dry. Nothing a bit of gravy couldn't sort out.
R. L.
Dined there yesterday with my Mum. Our 1st time there. Great welcome. Delicious food. Good choice. Reasonable prices. The staff were a delight. So pleasant and helpful. Will definitely go again. I told my wife about it and she said next time we're off together we'll go.
M. C.
meal was very nice would recomend and we usually come here for Xmas
A. T.
Surprisingly good. First visit but will return

Went with wife and 2 sons 14 & 19 Sunday early evening to celebrate son's birthday. Wonderful barman ( and all the staff who served us) who showed us to table, and recommended great beer. Clean spacious eating areas and good sized tables with comfortable seating. Delicious good size portions starters ( hot oozy brie bites, garlic mushrooms) and main meals, which all came hot and within good time. Carvery only had beef left ( my favourite choice anyway) and had large Yorkshire pudding, with plenty of meat and veg (4 choices) and roast potatoes. Gravy also hot, tasty and plenty. Son had beautiful steak cooked to medium-rare perfection, and wife ate all her lasagne, and other son ate all his scampi... always a sign food is good! We all had a wonderful time and looking forward to going again. Only niggly negatives.. soft drink pumps were not working but family loved alternatives, and at 7pm? expect more carvery choice left??? But I'm being picky! Cheers 🍻
J. F.
Nice Sunday carvery. Nice pint. Say no more 👍
A. P.
Lovely to be greeted and taken to your seat, one of our party couldn’t come due to having covid and his 3 course meal was wrapped up and given to us to drop to him ,Christmas crackers too .
Food was lovely and we had a lovely seating area to ourselves it wasn’t packed out and extremely covid friendly .
The price was good too
One thing for future is maybe a different soup , we are not a fan of onion soup and would have loved any other , and a few people we spoke to said the same .
But over all the staff worked very hard and it was beautifully decorated and lovely Christmas music
We had a great time despite one family member missing
Thanks so much Fly Line Garforth
R. L.
I only visited for a quick pint of cider, it being a very warm day and me being fed up from a morning of town shopping!
The greeting was warm and friendly, the service fast, friendly and efficient.
I stayed and had second pint (served by a different young lady but equally as professional, cheerful and competent.
V. W.
Great pub for food and drink. Really friendly and polite staff. The food is always nice and plenty to chose from in the menu. Good choice for vegans too.
L. W.
A great place to go for food & drink at an affordable price. Can get busy on the weekend so recommend booking a table in advance
B. E.
Very friendly staff, food is as you would expect from a chain like this. There is a play area for the kids and TV for the footy. I was disappointed with just one thing, it was not very clean as I found out when my daughter dropped something. I searched under the crossovers of the vase of the table and it was loaded with old food that had been there for quite some time. Pricing was ok too with me my partner and 2 kids getting mains and a drink each and the kids having a pudding each came to a reasonable £40.
D. H.
Moved to the area a few months ago and fell in love the Fly Line. I’ve stopped by for the odd drink while the car charges outside or after walking the dog, I’ve been for a quick lunch and for a night off from cooking. Each and every time the staff have been amazing. Joanne, Bradley, Ben, Pete to name a few. Always very friendly and helpful and honestly just generally enjoying what they do which is amazing to see these days!
My names Dan, and I’m an alcoholic. But only at the fly line.
J. G.
came for Father's Day and was really happy with the Carvery nice play area for the kids too and staff friendly
E.
Nice family gastro pub, plenty of space with a decent carvery and pub food menu. Drinks are reasonable and staff are friendly.
Just remember to register your car licence plate on the screens in the entrance so the car park charges don't catch you out.
P. T.
Really lovely carvery, beef and turkey were cooked to perfection. Lots of choice of veg too. The chocolate eclair cake is gorgeous, tasty and light. Staff are really nice, helpful, chatty. Thanks
K. P.
I have returned here 3 times in the past month, I was pleasantly surprised by the way I was greeted at the door by a smiling young gentleman. He asked how we were and if we were having a good day so far, he walked us to our table, chatting and friendly. We were seated, he asked if there was anything else he could do for us and then went off on his way.
Continually throughout our lunch, staff asked us if we needed anything, if our food was ok did we need anything getting. The whole experience was refreshing compared to other pub restaurants we have visited in our local area.
My husband and myself have discussed and decided that The Flyline is now our favourite go to pub, either just the two of us for dining or with family and friends from now on.
Thank you to all the staff at The Flyline for you service and your smiles, see you again soon.
J. B.
Great food great staff... And the people all seem nice... No ruff horrible types...
A great place for nice people
E. G.
A lovely carvery - although they bring the food to the table at the moment to help maintain hygiene. I was very surprised by how nice the veg was. It felt really healthy, although that was counteracted by the fact the plate was huge! I was expecting a small amount more than a medium when I went for a large plate for the sake of an extra Yorkshire pud, but I was wrong. I was absolutely stuffed, but it was totally worth it. Staff were pleasant too.
G. C.
Friendly staff, good food, good prices. Perfect
J. M.
Supurb Carvey experience
Went for a cavery with family, brilliant service from Mary Anne the head chef, the meat and vegetables were fab and the quailty was above other places.
The service was quick and easy from the start and the staff could not do enough for you. There is a friendly welcoming feel as soon as you walk in. Parking and access is great especially if you have a push chair or wheel chair. If you havent tried it yet i would deffo pop if you wont be dissapointed.
S. H.
Great service by very pleasant and helpful staff. Food typical pub grub and carvery but tasty and fairly priced. Guinness was served perfectly. Ate and drank in a pleasant outdoor eating area (patio with shrub borders.
D. H.
Always a great place to go for a drink as it's a good layout and staff are great also it's nice and quiet
T. W.
Enjoyable visit with my granddaughter she loved the pizza
E. M.
Brand new pub with an high choice of different type of food and drinks.
High quality gin and good beer.
Slightly long wait.
S. R.
Nipped in today for lunch, lovely friendly staff, had a club Sandwich with fries, and other half had a mixed grill. Both were lovely, worth the money. It wasn't busy, atmosphere was nice and relaxed and toilets were spotless.
Going to try the carvery next time, will definitely be back
K. M.
This was my first visit to fly line and I wasn't disappointed. The environment was clean the staff were very friendly and the good was delicious. Good value for money.
Will definitely be going back and highly recommended.
R. P.
Visited the Fly line for dinner and its one of the best carverys I've ever had! Didnt catch the name of the chef but he had a beard, food was delicious, will be coming back again!
K. H.
A Marston Pub, really good value for a quick meal, we had lunch and it was very good, staff are friendly and the place is kid friendly.
R. R.
Absolutely superb service. I was very impressed with all members of staff we dealt with. Well done training and management. Food as you would expect from a carvery of this nature. Children's play area.
L. H.
Excellent service as always. Our server Daryl was lovely and friendly and recommended the nices knockout burger. We will definitely come back!!
S. N.
Great food. Awesome prices. Wonderful staff.
A. C.
Visited with the family and would recommend the carvery. The staff were always helpful and Daryl made sure we got full value for money on the carvery.

P. B.
Lovely clean and warm welcoming atmosphere from all the staff especially daryl he always goes above and beyond The Sunday carverys are beautiful my new favourite place to dine
G. B.
Lovely surroundings, friendly staff and nice food. A nice lunchtime visit. Just remember to register your car reg as ticket officers are keen
S. V.
Very nice spacious pub serving nice food at affordable prices.
I ordered a beef sandwich with chips and my partner ordered a roast beef dinner, which both were lovely. Outside is a lovely seating area which both inside and outside are easily accessible to the disabled.
Atmosphere was nothing special but the pub is very clean and friendly. Service was good but because this was a quick visit that is all I can say.
P. L.
This would have been a five star review if it wasn't for the very negative parking situation.
Limited time and being forced into sharing details just to park is intrusive and annoying.
The pub/restaurant is pleasant and modern.
The staff are polite and helpful.
The delicious carvery was plentifully stocked, and the meals from the menu were also well made and tasty.
Service was fast and friendly.
Outside is a small play area suitable for juniors.
D. D. C. C.
Beautiful clean pub, staff very attentive, meals amazing.
G. T.
Quite a long queue for carvery, which moved slowly but was peak time on a Sunday so can't complain too much (a second person serving would have been good though) HOWEVER... Superb quality food, such great value for money too. Absolutely will be returning for many more Sunday dinners!
j. h.
Staff very welcoming, nothing too much, lunch very nice carrot cake delicious.
E. K.
Such a clean and well maintained pub, family atmosphere and nice food. I would have liked any kind of offer, like a two course menu but still, not expensive overall. Staff is lovely.
B. B.
Lunch time visit on opening day. Staff very friendly and efficient. Food was hot, delicious and reasonably priced. Carvery was delicious. Great choice of sweets. Generous portion of flake choc cheese cake rounded off a lovely meal.
R. S.
Surprisingly good food, our party had gammon steak (x2), sirloin steak and a double bacon cheeseburger plus prawn cocktails to start and there were no complaints from anyone. We were taking advantage of the government's 50% off food scheme and so it worked out at £10 per person with an alcoholic drink each. Only thing I would ask to improve would be a bigger menu to choose from, but all the classics were there.
L. H.
Just been with a group of 10. The food was great and the service was excellent. I had a burger and it was really tasty. Others went for the mixed grill and everyone was happy with their meals. The kids meal deal was great value! They also did huge cakes which you could take away. Highly recommended
A. V.
After hearing mixed reports I decided to give the fly line a go. I was quite impressed. I and my family ate from the carvery. 4 types of meat with all the trimmings, all fresh veg. Beer is a good pint and has a good outdoor area which is a great sun trap, with a children's play area.
Will I visit again?....... Too right I will.
P. F.
Good food and for the price of 2 meals for £10.00 you can't go wrong!!
B. P.
The dessert menu is one of a kind. The freakshake cake is delicious plus the melt in the middle chocolate pudding is a match made in heaven. Great atmosphere, very bright and colourful, vibrant and open plan. Carvery deck is well presented and serves fresh food all day long. Staff are both welcoming and friendly. They are professional and are very helpful.
M. W.
The food isn't particularly exciting but it's cheap and local to me. The staff are always amazing though. Really friendly, welcoming and helpful
A. C.
Called in for lunch. The place was packed but we were shown to a table very quickly. We have read about Reece in other reviews and he certainly lived up to his reputation by making us feel welcome by explaining the system and recommending various meals. My wife opted for the carvery while I chose from the menu. We were even given a 5 minute warning that my meal was on its way so that my wife could go get her carvery and we could eat together. Overall we are very impressed with the service, the food and the prices. We will certainly be going back for more
M. S.
Food was delicious! we had the carvery, the beef was succulent and very tasty. It is one of the only pubs I know to serve diet orange on draught and the staff are very friendly. We will be back rather soon, thank you.
c. p.
Came here for lunch and couldnt recommended it enough, we were served by Rean and he was so helpful, food was amazing and our waiter said the chef was his brother so well done to both members!

Visited The Fly Line this evening at 6pm with my husband. The staff were friendly the food was tasty and good value for money but the atmosphere did not lend itself to relaxed dining. I think it is absolutely great that families should be made welcome but misbehaving ill mannered children that were not supervised by their parents created havoc. There were two small children no more than 2 or 3 years old left to run around by themselves throughout every room in the pub including the bar squealing and shrieking and bouncing balloons on stick. When they were eventually collected by their respective parent, the tantrums started. Consequently, other slightly older children joined in, wandering around. In the meantime staff were trying to dodge these children while carrying hot plates of food. Family friendly places like these are a great idea but the pub also serves lots of couples, like ourselves, that were also dining early evening. Perhaps the room on the left as you come in through the main entrance could be reserved for parties over the age of 12 years so older couples, or adult only groups can dine in a more relaxed atmosphere. This has been the policy in another well know chain of pubs creating a dining experience that draws in everyone.

One of the now fairly typical carvery style pubs that represents great value for money. Family orientated as usual, but with a good selection of beers, typical but good choice of food on the menu and an open, friendly atmosphere. Don't expect gourmet and this will tick most of the boxes.
V. M.
Staff were very accommodating and friendly. The food was beautiful. We had a great time.
M. W.
Been a few times now, perfect location, do shopping and then have lunch. Good price and good quality carvery. Not able to drink alcohol at present due to medical condition so had soda water, NO CHARGE, bargain indeed. But watch out where you park as one area is only 11/2 hours and there's cameras everywhere, 1984???
H. K.
Great place to visit really good food and not to pricey. Staff are always welcoming and polite.
J. M.
So after waiting a while we visited the Fly Line for a meal tonight. So here is my honest review.
Service - could be slightly better, but when asked they were prompt. Staff very friendly. Maybe still new staff but can’t fault them.
Food - party of 12- few had carvery and it was really nice, meat lovely and veg was nice & fresh. Best carvery we’ve had for a while. Other menu food was really nice and portion size very good.
Desserts - to die for, good portion well nice.
The venue - clean & now ce but it’s nee and a welcome to Garforth.
Drinks - pricy than other places and spoons, but you don’t mind paying a bit more when having a meal out.
In summary really nice and I would go again. Still new and once sorted out a few issues it would be 5 stars from me.
M. S.
Great cheap carvery. Perfect if you have young kids. You can get your carvery straight away and then deal with the inevitable toddler issues with food, whilst at least you ate yours and if the demands for the slide/playground are too much you can take it in turns whilst the toddler food shows up which can be 10-30 mins depending if it's really busy and Sunday.
If you're in a rush the carvery is a great option as it's on everyday and the only waiting will be at the bar and at the carvery stand if there are people infront.
Food is brilliant for money, I've had better but I've also paid twice the price for far worse.
D.
This place is cheap and cheerful but the carvery is average. I don't expect a full selection all the time but, you shouldn't need to ask for fresh veg because the stuff in the dishes is beyond dead.
But the staff are friendly, my advice is to order off the menu.
G. Y.
Friendly staff, good value meals the carvery was really good. More space in and around the tables than most Marston's pubs. Which would be handy for wheelchairs and push chairs. Nice outside space as well.
S. S.
Very nice indeed. Like the three sizes of plates. Would be nice if they did pots of coffee. Love to see smiling staff, including chefs, so nice. First visit, definitely not the last, might be a favourite
S. W.
Lovely food great staff had a small issue with our order but was dealt with straight away
C. S.
We had the cavery on Sunday eve. It was very busy at 5pm. Good service, cavery was excellent. Large plate was actually too big for me! The staff were all friendly and helpful. Refills on the sodas which was a winner with the kids. Could do with more regular cleaning, there was food on the floor, only reason I'd not given a 5*. Puddings were superb too they deserve 5* 😋
B. M.
When this first opened last year it was lovely and staff were really nice. It's REALLY going downhill and fast in my opinion. The meats are either dried up or non existant. The chef this evening wasn't wasting any of it!! Dry, fatty yuk!!! I held back until he went for another joint! Lack of veggies waiting to be topped up..... Not a good experience tonight. Very disappointed. 😏😣🙄
L. T.
It must be very popular. No scampi, no fish. Other things "off" the menu, sold out. But if you have time to wait, the value is very good. Some great deals and very large portions. Service could be better, not the waiters, (they're great), the food delivery! . Wanted Salad and chips. Got salad THEN chips later 😋! Will give the Flyline another try, but not on a Monday night.
s. p.
Lovely carvery, great friendly staff, clean... and the deserts WOW
D. G.
Went on Boxing day with the family without pre-booking. I think it was books only but it was early and quiet. Food was good. Only negative was that the kids meal took a while to come out despite it being very quiet, however it was refunded to us without us complaining.
J. B.
Popped in for lunch while shopping, friendly staff and good food, along with a manager who went that extra mile. First Class.
G. S.
Food was very nice! Lovely atmosphere and the staff were friendly, would definitely come here again! Had the carvery and it was well worth £8
T. C.
Really nice welcome from Lucy and her team. Quality veggie breakfasts. They take dogs too, where you need to sit in a separate area which is no problem at all.
S. F.
Our first visit to The Fly Line but certainly won't be our last. A great pint of Marstons Pedigree and the range of food on the menu is awesome. All 3 of us were very happy with our choices which arrived in good time and hot too . If you are looking for decent pub food and a nice relaxed atmosphere this will tick all the boxes .
A. C.
Been a few times food is always very nice but called tonight with a couple of friends for some drinks staff very friendly and always had time to talk will be going back
T.
Great food, great service, easy to book although booking isn't always necessary. Good menu, easy free parking but most of all lovely helpful staff.
W. E.
Great car boot, flea market, everything you can think of for sale, good prices,
A. B.
Loved it ..Great food really friendly staff and a really good atmosphere. Thanks to all the staff for making our night a really good one 👍
L. C.
Met here for lunch with a friend. We both had sandwich with roast potatoes. Very prompt delivery of food, sandwich was delicious and fresh but the roasties were inedible, like concrete! Didnt complain as no one came to table check in the 90 mins we were there, nor did our plates get cleared before we left. On the plus side, good range on menu, nice surroundings and refillable soft drinks. Would go again as we may have got them on an off day and the sandwich was lovely.
G. T.
Early dinner for us today. Food good, staff are so polite and attentive, particularly Rean who is always very welcoming.
K. M.
nice carvery very enjoyable.
excellent service from Ben.
Thank you.
C. E.
Tried a carvery today. It was ok. Drinks quite expensive. Friendly staff and nice little park area for kids to play in.
G. B.
Friendly experienced staff, great range of drinks and food
D. W.
Cheap and cheerful. Good play area for the kids in enclosed pub garden. Carvery is pretty basic but cheap so worth it for that. Refillable soft drinks is great.
S. C.
Average pub? restaurant. The foods good and the ppace has been busy, maybe as it's still new, but the wait for your order can be long.
Not tried the carvery yet but may try it if we go again
I had to smile at the waitress :-) Three of us went, two oldies and our 20 year old granddaughter. She wispered in our granddaughters ear passing her a card to give a review.
Seems us oldies are not capable of giving the place an online review, so maybe you should ignore this one.
P. B.
The Fly Line,Garforth a very nice pub which is fast becoming one of our regular haunts. The staff are always efficient, friendly and polite. The food is very good with plenty of choices. The carvery is terrific value. All in all this is a new pub with a nice ambience.I love this pub.Oh! And the beer is well kept too.
T. J.
First rate. Visiting family who live in Garforth and decided to try the Yorkshire Pudding wrap which, they highly recommended. I wasn't disappointed as it was delicious and the best Sunday lunch I've had at any eaterie. Looking forward to my next visit already.
E. K.
Loved it. Family friendly and a lovely Sunday dinner.... Although the xlarge Yorkshire pudding was more than I could face.
M. R.
Plates not warmed so meal soon goes cold
The tureens that the vegetables are in the Bain Marie ,the coating in the dishes is all peeling off and doesn't look very nice,it's about time that the brewery provided some more dishes
Returned to glycine last Friday 4th March,
The dishes were still in the same off putting state, after telling me that they were going to be replaced for Christmas
f. f.
Great for CMPA children. The children's menu is clearly marked with what doesn't contain milk and they actually do a dairy free and soya free ice cream which was a welcome treat for my little boy who got to join in dessert with his cousins. Staff gladly accomated a table of 9 of us at very short notice. The carvery was lovely too! The outside play area was a nice addition for keeping the children occupied for a little bit.
R. Q.
Very good service, carvery very nice, compared to other leeds pubs. Service great, I asked the staff to amend my childrens meals to add deserts (after we had paid). They allowed me to do this and altered the bill to suit. Nothing to much trouble, very impressed with lewis and the team. Thank you
C. J.
My very first visit with family and friends was very enjoyable and all the staff were friendly and helpful and polite couldn't ask for anything better service was excellent as well and really enjoyed myself
M. H.
I got the small plate roast dinner. You don't expect portions to be big but the chef was literally shaving the slices of meat off. Could be a bit more generous with the portions.
M. C.
Came in for the first time at Saturday night and we were impressed at the friendly service we received especially from Jade who is a asset to them. The prices were reasonable and the food was lovely. We will definitely will be coming again. Note to management , Staff were over run but still managing to remain positive and friendly.
J. J.
Usually pop in here on our way back from a hospital appointment, but this time the poor bar server was on his own and it was extremely busy!
My food order was wrong so got sent back so that meant by the time mine arrived my friend had already eaten and had to sit and watch me eat mine, which made me feel uncomfortable (just my thing!!)
Its not easy getting into the disabled toilets if you wheel yourself in as its opposite the bar/eating area door. You have to push that open which is heavy, then wheel forward while holding onto the door, as no room, then open disabled door while moving back holding both doors! It really is a bit of a nightmare!
But usually i wait until home depending on how many diet cokes i have!
The food order usually is spot on and it is always a very busy popular place.
And the food is nice, your usual reasonable pub lunch. They do a carvery too.
C. N.
First time we been here for my mum's birthday .we all enjoyed our meal .would come again
A. R. L.
Positives.. Food ok, pleasant staff, reasonable pricing and a good range of beers.
Negatives..Kids running around unsupervised without being challenged, has a feel of a food factory canteen. (ps I have a young child, a well behaved one at that) nothing worse than trying to enjoy a Sunday lunch with family and having out of control kid/s running around your table when they're parents are the other end of the dining area ...management! U need to sort this out !!
D. R.
The food was good quality of the food was good the service was good too would recommend
S. T.
Welcoming staff, quick and easy ordering, choose your own table.
Excellent quality food
M. W.
Lovely polite bar staff and lovely atmosphere. Our first visit and we will be back again
D. P.
Fab food the staff really friendly especially the bloke carving the meat(Daryl) i think his name was very helpful
C. W.
Cold meat, told waitress but nothing done. Wasn't told about the parking situation upon entry. Could now get a ticket which they said they'd sort
K. H.
Went for the carvery which was pretty good value and very tasty. Much nicer than our local Toby and not as busy. Small kids play area too.
A. G.
Excellent staff and nice food
N. B.
Good food at reasonable price , it’s drinks prices that push the price up.
A.
Food was okay. But only okay. Dont think I will be returning. After waiting 45mins for our food The chips were covered in grease and had no potato left in them they had been re-cooked that many times. We complained and they brought us all fresh bowls of chips.
A. b.
Food excellent dont change the tomatoe n basil soup. Bar manger fabulous ty . Our server not so good sorry she didn't know weather my meal came with a salad I had already ordered it to come with a dressing of balsamic vinegar salad did not arrive when it did no dressing no apology from server. We did complain and issue came to a valued and amicable result thanks to the bar manager she does her job well very well ....
R. M.
Give it a bit of time I'm sure all the creases will be ironed out but it's OK. I like how the tables aren't too close together and it's nice and bright. Haven't tried the food yet but will be back to try it with the family as there looks plenty of choice at reasonable prices.
P. A.
We've been several times now, for carvery and other meals. All times, service has been great and food quality great too! Highly recommended.
M. M.
OK food and drink available here.
Apple Pie served tastes brilliant but they are stingy with portion size.
Remember to enter your car reg number on the iPad at the entrance otherwise you could be landed with a hefty parking fee if you stay a lengthy period of time.
w. b.
Always a lovely experience, great food, very reasonable prices, relaxing environment & staff always so friendly & attentive
P. R.
Everything was excellent the staff was friendly and helpfull the food was great the steak was fantastic well done to you all we be coming back thanks
P. “. W. A.
Not the best..Booked on line asked for window table or booth, got niether , even though place was only half full (Friday evening 7pm) so we moved.
Vegetarian option limited but opted for Veg burger and Tac o veg (basically Yorkshire puddings with filling) waited over an hour from order. Positive first , young lad waiter was nice, veg burger hot and tasty, veg tac o thing cold and same filling ( 2 bits of cauliflower ) whereas meat version has 3 different types , veggies loose out again.
Told waiter it was cold he said he'd microwave it ...you can't do that with Yorkshire puddings ! Hmmm.
It was nice but not worth £9
Never mind beer ok pricey at £3:30 a pint.
Don't think we'll rush back sadly.
Good point also we realised there's a home bargains next to it !
M. W.
Good little pub, fair drinks and close to shops for convenience. Not tried any of the food so can't comment.
J. K.
Very polite and helpful staff, basic pub grub but enjoyable, tasty and decently priced
S. M.
Nice pub for a carvery, friendly staff reasonably priced
o.
Excellent food and service, the Sunday roast is smazing, vegetables perfectly cooked and meat always juicy and tender
A. P.
Very nice,, clean,,friendly staff...
Food was very nice..
(Not quite there yet though)
Carvery was nice... gravy was a tad watery though
Over all a nice place to eat...
F. K.
Above-average well-priced Carvery - have visited a few times and always impressed with the staff, always a pleasure.
D. R.
Great space, great employees. Sunday carvery had a good selection but was not as warm as expected straight away. Feedback given and was followed up straight away.
A. g.
Lovely food and even lovelier staff. Was there for my brothers 50th. Will be returning
C. L.
Came in for a meal and was persuaded to stay for the quiz, had a great time with my husband and we can’t wait for the next quizzes to come
W.
Good food and drinks on offer including off the menu or the carvery. I've got ample meat the times I've been and the vegetarian option include a cheese tart. Marston's beers on draught include Hobgoblin and Wainwright.
P. C.
Great new place...the staff were all lovely nothing was too much trouble ....my daughter and I had the carvery as did my little great granddaughter ...the food was the best carvery we have had in a long time....the meat was so tender and the taste was just how it should be Will definitely be going again xx
p. p.
Cut back on staff ment we had to wait over an hour for service, the food was gorgeous as normal, staff that were working we're great, would be 5 star if not for the long wait for food. We had booked a table!
W. T.
Depends when you go whether carvery is good or bad. The last twice we have been the beef has been tough & the meal was not very nice.
j. b.
My and I had a cold drink at fly line really nice but we had to wait for our chips but he brought 2
Lots just to apologise for them taking so long
J. W.
Great place choices either to sit outside or inside large capacity with a choice of either to sit and watch sky sports or alternatively to sit somewhere quietly good quality service with very nice staff /nice people I give it a five star rating
T. H.
Had an excellent Carvery Sunday lunch, with my family, for my Mother's 89th birthday. Eight meals delivered and enjoyed by all.
R. H.
Smart welcoming place to eat. 1000% nicer than the Wetherspoons scum down the road. Dont forget to submit your reg number for extended parking time.. Thanks
C. M.
Such a friendly atmosphere! Lovely food and fantastic service! Loved the roast and the breakfast! 👌
M. W.
Had the carvery which tasted really good and there was a wide selection of vegetables. Nice and clean. Staff very good too.
S. T.
Lovely staff food value for money. Worth a visit.
M. C.
Consistently good Sunday lunch & really nice staff.
S.
Went for Sunday lunch.. what I call a cheap and cheerful pub.. if you want to grab a quick lunch from the menu or the carvery it's a good place to visit... watch out for the 3 hr parking regulations or there a ticket waiting for you on your doorstep a week later..
D. A.

Great customer service, reasonably priced menu & amazing starters. We only ordered starters but I'm sure all there food must be gorgeous.
J. D.
Lovely stAff....chatty X friendly...food hot which is unusual as at other carverys the food is lukewarm unless you get there when they open .. would have liked a bit more meat otherwise we really enjoyed it ..
R. M.
Had an absolutely wonderful time at the Flyline. Very welcoming and attentive staff.
Would definitely recommend.
Well done Team Flyline.
C. B.
Nice and new and pleasant food. Free parking on site, no kids toys for toddlers which are sometimes present in this type of eatery or crayons and papers. Pop in now and then.
a. f.
Staff very polite. Pub very cosy and clean
Carvery average but I guess good value on 2 meals for £10
P. W.
Set out well for Covid safety. Limited menu and real ale availability but to be expected as we come out of lockdown. Plenty of outside tables and chairs for when the weather allows.
R. C.
The two meals for £11 is excellent value for money. We had burgers ,toppedwith bacon, and accompanied by well cooked chips, onion rings and coleslaw.I finished with hot chocolate pudding and ice cream. Also two refillable diet cokes. All for £22!All food was served within 10 minutes in spite of it being a busy Saturday night.Staff were friendly and attentive. What more can you ask?
H. H.
Had fun at the Tuesday night quiz. Friendly staff. Food is average reheated pub standards along with a carvery.

K. C.
We have stayed at this hotel 3 times, location is great as right on the beach, its location is good for people with walking difficulties, also flat for wheel chairs, hotel is excellent from reception staff to restaurant staff, and staff who look after the rooms, restaurant has a good variety of food on the buffet, a nice touch is they do a theme each night on different foods from around the world, which is separate from the buffet,as yu enter the restaurant there is a separate serving hatch for this and is cooked there ,excellent hotel.
B. W.
We had a lovely breakfast
V. H.
The meal at the fly line was really good it was a birthday get together and we all really enjoyed
A. B.
Unlimited soft drinks if you order the bottomless drink, reasonable priced, good food, the bad is you don't get your own refills, you have to go to bar so if there's a queue and not many staff... You have to remember to put car registration in lcd on entrence of pub or bar, you are limited to 3 hours parking and they warn you that they can fine you.
S. W.
Risk assessment and safety in place. Quiet enough to be confident to drink and eat there. 4 of us ate and it was cosistently good
H. M.
Went for a coffee and chat with family. We were the only customers in. Service was quick as you'd expect but we didn't have food.
c. d.

Have nothing but good things to say about this place, I go each week with my customer who uses makaton to communicate and the staff couldnt be more accommodating and interested in what he has to say and are eager to learn what each sign means. Highly recommend going

Great location and price for food unfortunately I have visited twice now with a large group and the carvery isn't the best the meat is great and we'll cooked but the potatoes are very dry and uneadable I think they should look at how long they hot hold there vegetables because it as ruined the meal twice now

Not as good as other Marstons carvery pubs we've visited. Food not very hot and beef fatty. Also ran out of Hobgoblin.

Nice roasts and well kept beer, shame the establishment allows young children to run riot outside and sometimes in whilst their parents sit and stare into their phones no doubt on social media.
