What can a say a lovely hidden gem in the heart of Thorner Village Staff are very welcoming The Land Lady is Tracey And Her Husband Richard local village people also make you feel welcome The fox provides many different types of beverages from tea coffee soft drinks larger guests ales as well as gins whisky etc so something for everyone The land lady also does a selection of meals at fabulous prices Great outside area fab area for families with play equipment Sheltered area also with heaters KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK THE FOX TEAM

The Fox is a village pub. There are no fancy trimmings, it doesn't have a generic menu that's the same as hundreds of other pubs and there's no Wacky Warehouse. It's comfortable and fun with local maps, paintings, trophies, collections, the winners medals from the charity fun run that starts and finished at the pub each year. The beer is well kept and varies with guest beers rotating regularly. The Fox in Thorner being a wet pub. They are nonetheless perfect for refreshing the army of walkers who pass through the village each weekend. I find the service welcoming and friendly, the clientele similarly warm. At this time of year there's also a guarantee of roaring fires and a possibility of chestnuts. The new year will see the Sloe gin competition again which is always competitive and a big charity event held each year in aid of a local hospice which always spills outside taking over the large car park, beer garden and kids play area with a music stage, marquee and stalls. Tuesdays are quiz night, there's live music with an established Open Mic event and weekends bring occasional live acts. This is a pub that's a pub, a village pub, and doing a fine job of that rather than trying to be something else like many pubs are in a difficult time for the licensed trade.

Great local, but well behaved visitors receive a warm welcome as well. Also welcomes dogs, and has water bowls outside for them. Friday night is fish and chip night, with the van parked in the car park!

Very nice pub in Thorner on the outskirts of Leeds. Does not serve food which is a shame and the changes in management does nothing for customers loyalty. Shame as it has a lot of potential for what is a lovely country pub.

A lovely old local pub, still with all it's old historical features and traditional hand pull ales, one being my late father's favourite tipple.. 'Black Sheep". Homely comfortable atmosphere and small cosy Taproom also with a real log burning fire place.. awaiting the winter months. Another favourite of mine and deserved of five stars is, its 'dog friendly'!. Garden seating area around the back with a lovely play area for child. We only called in for one drink on our way home from Bostonsparr... will definitely go again.
