Reviews of Hawthorne Farm - Dining & Carvery
D. W.
I discovered it during an afternoon walk from Otley chevin to the airport . I stopped to sample the carvery, just a small plate for less than £6 but it was more than enough. The staff were helpful and friendly and the atmosphere was laid back. It has a carpark, toilets , it's wheelchair accessible and there are bus stops nearby.

We needed a venue space for a family gathering following the funeral of my Father. Obviously it’s a stressful time, so we were so very grateful for the excellent service we received from the team at the Hawthorne Farm. Emma’s communication was excellent throughout.
On the actual day, they had reserved us a section of the restaurant for our private gathering. David, Julie and the team were attentive, efficient and made sure everything went smoothly. All the guests said what a nice meal they had enjoyed. The menu is extensive and offered something for everyone, regardless of dietary requirements or appetites.
It’s rare these days to receive such a high level of service, it was faultless. I am so grateful to the full team. Thank you 👏🏻

Seven of us came for food on a Monday afternoon.
We dined in, after some confusion of where to sit, from a confused member of staff and then a member of staff stood staring at us, who eventually asked us if we had reserved the table. We explained that, a member of staff seated us.
Then we went to order our food, due to a menu change that was happening mid week we could not have our first choices.
The carvery was very tasty, with a very helpful and friendly chef carving the meat.
We all enjoyed our food.
After our meals we decided to order desserts to take away.
Even though all deserts were still on display, there were a few choices not available due to menu changes
Overall a family friendly pub, tasty food, good atmosphere, clean toilets, great carvery.
Odd staff, and shame about the lack of availability on the menu.
Yes would try again but if we were to have availability issues again would not return

We popped in for a quick drink on the way home to see what it was like for a future place to take the rest of the family. We arrived at 1 o clock it was busy for food. Staff still friendly and polite. Food service was slow. As customers were complaining about their wait. It did quieten off around 2.30. The deco was clean and tables where kept clean throughout our stay. The Hawthorn do a click and collection food menu. The food menu is reasonable priced.Plenty of car parking spaces and disabled bays. Out side seating available. The Hawthorn is situated opposite the Leeds Bradford Airport and is on a bus route. Will be going back the next time taking the rest of the family
P. W.
Very busy, especially for Sunday carvery. Staff are friendly but too busy. Food is average at best In my opinion. Portion sizes are very generous. Personally I would prefer less food of better quality but that's just me
A.
Lovely place and atmosphere with good value for money and large selection of food. Denise J was incredibly attentive, friendly and looked after us. Always a positive attitude and it doesn’t go unnoticed. Hannah C was also very polite and friendly at the tills. Thank you for making our visit special and we will be certainly returning.
J. P.
Handy for pre airport meal. Reasonably priced. Very slow service 30+min (was not busy) wait for food unless you are having carvery. Last two visits the other members of the party had nearly finished their carvery before my fish and chips arrived at the table having inquired twice. Probably won't bother again unless having carvery.
J. A.
I've have been a few times and enjoyed both the Carvery and main menu! We always seem to have Sophie seating us and making sure we're all okay, she's a credit to your company! Thank you Sophie!
M. L.
We had dinner here ( 12 of us ) a couple of nights ago and tbh it was all pretty good.
The restaurant is huge and can't imagine what it's like when full .... I say this as the queue for the carvery was long and I guess it was only 40% full but the chap working on the carvery was working flat out ( could have done with another person ) but the meat served was succulent and veggies etc lovely.
For those of us ordering off the menu ( steak & ale pie, lasagne, burgers, wraps etc ,) all good sized portions and cooked well ,so full credit to the kitchen staff 👍👍
Our waiter was spot on , looked after us very well.
There's also a small play area so the little folks are happy.
Overall a great family dinner.
S. B.
The carvery was pretty good, meals off the menu weren't exactly brilliant. Its a large restaurant chain with the same layout in all their restaurants. Large quantities of not so nice cake. Its ok for the price you pay.
G. S.
Even though it was very busy being a Sunday, we didn't have to wait long to be served. My partner had all day breakfast which he loves & myself smothered chicken. Both meals were excellent. My only complaint is that they give you far too many chips!
C. S.
Food was good enough even if it wasn't that nicely presented and we had to queue for 25 minutes to be served.
The person carving the meat kept disappearing into the kitchen for more joints of meat, Yorkshire puddings, pigs in blankets etc etc. When it's so busy, surely it'd be better to have someone running for him, let him concentrate on serving.
I. B.
Excellent start to our holiday well situated ne’er Leeds Bradford airport
C. L.
Any time my dad wants to go out for food, he takes me here. Carvery is always to a high standard, friendly carving chefs. Waiting staff are always helpful, honestly couldn't recommend a better place.
S. L.
We used to like this pub but it's gone down hill recently. There were no staff on Saturday and one poor young waiter was left in the kitchen on his own, getting rather stressed out! We never got our puddings despite asking twice! Not a very helpful bar tender. Thankfully another guy came on the till to help who was very apologetic and refunded us so we could leave! Noone should wait 50 minutes for a slice of cake!!!
J. G.
Great Carvery Roast.
Book in advance on the weekend as it is very busy.
Good value for money.
Just across the road from Leeds Bradford airport. Ideal place for a meal to start your holiday..!
S. S.
Place seems alright. Stopped by for a coffee in morning hrs. Quite a few people in having meals so must be good. 2 minutes from Leeds Airport so will try on next occasion.
P. R.
Fantastic.
Very busy on Sundays but we'll worth a visit.
Denise j was our host and she was brilliant, she has looked after us on a number of occasions and her performance is 2nd to none.
The carvery was fantastic, meats perfectly done with an array of beautifully cooked veg and gravy to warm even the coldest hearts.
Also very helpfull with my disabled mother in a slight que jump due to her not being able to stand.
Truly legendary. Top team.
J. S.
Took my daughter to have a pint.. of coke zero.... then took her to army cadets. At a loose end I went back. The lady that was greeting was lovely, friendly and helpful. See you Tuesday and Thursdays x
C. C.
Came for the carvery, wasn't disappointed at all. Absolutely beautiful food ,lovely staff, well priced seated quickly even though we'd booked even enjoyed apple pie and icecream 🍦 😋
We will be back
Very busy but staff work quickly and have time for everyone
Big thankyou from us both
S. P.
The food was what you expect from an inexpensive carvery. Unfortunately the staff were not great. The carvery station would be unmanned for several minutes at a time and getting a drink took allot longer than you would expect.
S. B.
Great food, decent value. Good service and friendly staff. First time visit and will be back, thanks 👍
K. L.
Im giving 5 stars purely because of Dee Tate, we had 9 people in our party and she took care of us the whole time we were in, we had a few meals that needed changes and Dee sorted everything out quickly and professionally, she was such a pleasure and we will definitely be back to see her
T. H.
I came for breakfast with my daughter and grandson, the service was excellent from Lucy S , as I needed my food in a specific way and this was no problem. My grandson loved playing while we waited for our food.
R. P.
Lovely variety of food including a very tasty carvery.
Play area just needs a little upgrading some of the machine don't work. But maybe less slot machine and more building block would be better for under 5's
s. g.
Nathan was very attentive to our family's dining experience, especially with having an infant with us ,knew exactly what we would need and very helpful ,the carvery was really nice tonight thank you x
J. S.
Had breakfast today. Food cooked to perfection! Lovely. Denise, Danni and Tanisha are fabulous ladies who are so nice and polite as always.
10/10
R. H.
I have been to Hawthorne numerous times however I must say I received the best service from a lovely young man called Naithan. His customer service was impeccable and the best I have ever received anywhere! I have no words to explain how helpful and kind Naithan was. This man deserves a pay rise!
D. x.
Spot on carvery. As usual, the beef was lovely and tender, lots of veg choice.
Highly recommended and one of the best carveries around.
C. W.
A nice place to go for food and a drink the night before you fly from LBA, walking distance from the travel lodge. Reasonable prices and nice food and the cakes look very naughty yum 😋
F. T.
Really good food said we had a half hr wait got seated in under ten minutes dee tate is a really lovely waitress super friendly amd always checking up to make sure everything is good and to our satisfaction
M. B.
Very helpful staff as I am disabled and they brought the carvery to me. Food was very good and plenty of choice
G. W.
Very good atmosphere and although very busy. We had a car ery that wad fresh and well vooked and very tasty. Price was incredibly good.
I. M.
our visit was made extra special by Dee the waitress who was extremely helpful and attentive while we were dining bringing extra sauces and checking we were enjoying our food - which was great.
a.
Our go-to place for Sunday lunch nearby, food is fresh as constantly replenished, the guy serving meat was funny too, really nice guy, queue was huge but what more can u expect when it’s packed out
A. A.
Nice place to eat good menu and super carvery the thing that lets it down is the shortage of staff it takes ages to get served they don't seem to have a system between drinks and food if visiting Fridays and weekend best to book plenty of parking and an inside kids area.
L. W.
Been to Hawthorne Farm many times. Lovely food, never disappointed and staff there are always friendly. Dee who has served us many times is always lovely.
S. B.
Got what was supposed to be a smaller banoffee tart, it was huge and delicious, have had lunch here before the food is good and the carvery is excellent, would highly recommend
J. B.
Denise J was very helpful today when I brought my 2 niece's to play. She couldn't have done more to ensure we were looked after.
L. S.
Friendly and helpful staff, food is always amazing and just a lovely atmosphere! Will always recommend to my family and friends😊
K. H.
Amazing value for money. Excellent carvery. Very busy. Even on a Monday lunchtime 👌
D. C.
One of the Best carvery restaurants I've been to .always busy so expect a 20min wait.
Just visited and had a lovely carvery
M. M.
Best food ever! Great play area! I'm just in love with this place and will definitely come back! Thank you to the staff for being very helpful and welcoming! ❤️
Update from 10/08/2020
First time visit after lockdown and can't believe how amazing experience we had! We got our table changed (because outside was too cold) without issues. Food was brilliant as always! ❤️ And thank you soooo much to Libbey, for great customer service, she was very helpful and so nice! All the staff was really AMAZING! I will come back many more times! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
M. P.
Was quite busy when we arrived it took a while to find a table. The food was absolutely lovely! I had Macaroni Cheese with BBQ burnt ends which was delicious! My partner and little boy had the carvery which they also enjoyed! We got the chocolate fudge pudding and the serving was enormous! Will definitely be returning
M. W.
We always use this before we fly from Leeds/Bradford Airport.
Always busy best to book a table so you don't have to wait.
l. C.
Food was excellent... Amazing carvery. Very clean and well run. Such friendly and helpful staff. Special thank you to Daisy, lovely young lady. Highly recommend.
M. G.
Good service, good atmosphere, decent food. We didn’t book on a Sunday evening but all 5 of us were seated straight away.
They had a children’s area which all 3 of our children played in 11, 6 and a 1 year old. The broken machines should be removed however as they only caused disappointment.
The food was served promptly after ordering at the bar. The staff were helpful and even provided a box for our sons cheesecake to take home. Reasonable price.
Definitely returning if we ever want a carvery!
N. D.
Food was nice, but ther service was very poor which is disappointing. Long waiting time for meals even though it wasn't very busy. Table staff waiting around. A member of staff behind the bar didn't look like he was enjoying his job and it showed in his customer service. Matthew was very welcoming and helpful....
J. K.
Place was crazy busy for a Thursday but they managed to squeeze us in. Portions were more than generous, even though we opted for 'Small Carvery'. We were too full to eat the dessert we'd ordered, happily our waitress was happy to box it up for us.
E. H.
Such a wonderful place to dine with really friendly staff. Great place to watch the planes on a sunny day. The Carvery is to die for and the cakes are amazing.
E. F.
The food wasn't very warm. Not enough people serving. One man taking orders and serving drinks, so a long wait.We were sat near a party of twenty, loads of children, very noisy, just what you want for a relaxing lunch.
J. A.
5 Adults and 1 Child all the adults had standard carveries and a child's chicken nuggets meal plus drinks. Lovely restaurant with child play area. Friendly staff. Restaurant/pub just over from Leeds and Bradford Airport Yeadon, Leeds.
M. A.
Booked a table for a birthday treat for myself and partner, haven't been here for well over a year and was really looking forward to it.
And I wasn't disappointed.
We didn't wait more than a few minutes to be seated - there was a bit of a queue in front of us.
We were told there was up to a 40 minute wait for food but we were fine with that.
However, it came in about fifteen minutes.
The root vegetable pie I had was delicious and my partner said his scampy was lovely.
The portions are good, I think it is great value for money and the desserts are amazing!
The staff were friendly, helpful and attentive, the place was clean and tidy with tables being cleared and cleaned as soon as they became vacant.
Lovely place, lovely meal and can't wait to visit again.
Thank you
J. W.
You couldn't ask for nicer staff they are warm and helpful throughout your visit.Food is homely with massive portions so go hungry, prices are really reasonable so it won't break the bank. The only small negative was Apple Pie was microwaved making pastry soggy and the toilets needed a clean and a bit of maintenance.Yeadon airport is very close so worth staying here night before a flight .Well worth a visit!!!!!!
C. L.
They have been struggling a bit with poorly staff here.. But wow Leo the chef and kitchen crew..you still did us proud..Calvery near fails to please.. Katsu chicken burger also delish.. steak and ale pie huge! All perfect. Keep up the good work.
C. S.
Nice place to eat and with a view of aircraft taking off or landing (if you're into that sort of thing).
W. S.
Good food at a good price. Very friendly staff.. would deffo recommend
D. E.
This is a family orientated eating house it is well laid out quite roomy. The food is generous and very varied I had a small carvery which is was generous in potion and very well cooked the price is very reasonable would recomend
B. H.
We went the other week, food was nice. Was a bit under staffed but we had a brillant waitress called Julie who was very efficient and nothing was too much!
j. r.
What can I say. The fact that I am stuffed and can't move is enough. The food from this place is delish. If you can finish the pudding after the main you are a special person and need to enter man v food because I can eat but I had to submit.
J. L.
Lovely carvery the team are really good and welcoming especially during these difficult times. Our carvery meals were really fresh and hot
D. P.
Seemed to be very busy,Unfortunately there was an hours wait to be seated before food. However nicely located right near the Airport and looked like great food.
A. P.
Great value carvery. Nothing special but, it does its job really well.
E.
Was amazing food for price and quality. Denise J was our host and was amazing. Couldn't fault my experience
R. R.
Excellent quality and good value.
Great service by Dee Tate! She was very informative and nothing too much trouble
J. S.
Went to hawthorn farm again with family, there were 6 of us & we all throughly enjoyed the carvery , lovely food, good value & very friendly helpful staff always good & we always all enjoy. Thank you
N. E.
We came today for a Sunday cavery for my 21st and Denise J could not have been anymore helpful we tried booking but there was a glitch and she was able to sort us a table out no problem the service and food was amazing and Denise J always was checking and making sure we were OK which was lovely cannot wait to come again for a lovely family meal xx
J. P.
Brilliant service as always from the amazing staff member Denise J she makes sure everyone is happy and is extremely reserved and calm manner and service with a smile ... extremely professional and is always willing to help at 1st hand ... just amazing!!! Hard to find staff with all the quality this lady has ... Jayne from Leeds
J. B.
Good vegetarian option, had the cheese and onion pie was a decent size, built like a door wedge. Had to go for a nap after eating it.
m. r.
We came with our granddaughter & boyfriend for lunch & we all enjoyed our meals they even gave us a box for leftovers as there was so much food well worth the money, we will go again delicious 😋
C. B.
Celebrated a friends 40th, really helpful staff, great food, would recommend. Has kids play area, useful to know for another trip with the family 👍
S. B.
Very rude bar staff and cheeky told bar person to get a drink she said ooh what's most expensive drink and took £7 for a drink the food was ok. Felt this was tarnished by the girl at the bar probably won't return
M. J.
Lovely place helpfully staff good coffee and cake not time yo eat full meal but looks lovely xx
K. A.
The carvery is well worth the money food is very good the desserts are devine plenty of choice staff are very friendly
S. S.
Excellent management- it was my bday and we brought our own cake to which they kindly supplied some plates!
R. B.
Sunday carvery superb the beef just melted in your mouth. Staff brilliant we'll be back
C. A.
Good food, especially the deserts.
The setting is nice and comfortable with local history on the walls.
c. d.
Last memory of the UK, quite impressed. I got nachos for starter, the nachos had too much seasoning other than that the Farm Giant Burger was delicious and the strawberry cheesecake was gorgeous and nicely served for my birthday. 😁 From my family - Good selection on carvery, good Al carte menu, something for everyone.
D. B.
There were 3 in our party, we ordered 2 carvery and a golden years 2 course. We waited almost 25 minutes until I jogged their memory, the 2 course golden years was brought out at the same time! The waitress said "well you should have said you wanted it separately, do you want me to try and keep this warm?" , ooh good idea. The lady that brought the rest of our order was very pleasant and checked we had everything. Couldn't fault the carvery, beats Toby hands down
S. R.
Great food as always but the service was a little lacking due to staffing shortages. The guy on the carvery was working very hard and still smiling and cheery with everyone. The young girl seating people didn't seem to know which seats were free and had to be guided by another staff member. I'd recommend booking a table to avoid waiting.
G. W.
Loved the small carvery at lunch just before our flight, and a Couple of beers
A. J.
Great meat from the carvery and lots of choice with the veg. The gravy was very tast
B. L.
A very nice carvery, well priced. Lots of space when we went. Bar service a little slow. Overall a good experience.
P. R.
Typical carvery really. But has large garden area, large car park and very convenient for the nearby airport. Great place for the plane spotters.
M. S.
Fantastic experience and fabulous food with a special mention for Dee Tatte the very helpful and friendly member of staff served us today making sure to go the extra mile to help us....
D. L.
We would just like to say that the service was outstanding, and we were served by a lady called Helen, the experience that we received after a long flight was amazing .
The carvery was just what the doctor ordered after eating Greek salad.
I highly recommend to all
L. p. j.
Called on a off chance managed to get a table. Took a little time to get to the severy for our food which was very good.
B. F.
I come here at least twice a week. The food is excellent and good value for money. The choice of vegetables are the best you can get anywhere.
The staff are very friendly and willing to help when ever asked.
Its kept very clean including the toilets.
Also I would like to thank a young man called Ben for all his hard work he does and for clearing the tables constantly.
Well done everyone there !!!
J. N.
Came here with a few friends and our daugthers had a lovely meal. Very nice lady served us Denise j very friendly lady

M. B.
Nice carvery, a bit more price wise cos close to airport but nice food
L. S.
Me and my friend Hannah came to have dinner tonight here. I got the wrong drink and Ben came and corrected it for me. When we ordered our food we came and sat outside with the lovely weather. When our food was brought, by josh, it was wrong and he took it back and corrected it (he did not take our order from the beginning) he came back and made sure that he got the correct order for hannah. Both were very polite people
S. A.
All you can eat breakfast, hello? Why wouldn't that warrant 5 stars.
Very convenient location too, just by the airport.. get full to the brim and fly to off on your jollies. 😎
G. G.
Best cheese cake I've ever tasted. I love the idea that we can eat in or have carvery and cheese cake take away. I've never been disappointed! Quality yummy food for such a good price.
S. C. A.
The carvery was brilliant, decent scenery and the staff were very accommodating.
You must try the cakes!
C. R.
Very nice carvery. Standard meal. Not much meat..
k. d.
I’d been into this place a few times just for a drink whilst waiting to collect friends off a flight. Decided to take my best friend for lunch yesterday and we were not disappointed! We were greeted by a lovely lady, Denise J who was so helpful and informative. The food was great, good value and tasty. We arrived about 11.30am and ordered off the main menu but the carvery looked great and there was a queue when we left. The most impressive thing about Hawthorne Farm was the astounding cakes… I don’t have a sweet tooth but I just had to take a slice home. I went for the crème egg one and wow it tasted as nice as it looked! It did serve 3 of us and there’s still some left. All in all a great place for families but also if you want just a quiet meal or drink Denise told us there was an ‘adult only’ area.
It seems to tick all the boxes… great service, good food and a relaxing atmosphere.
D. H.
Very large portions. Value for money food excellent. Would recommend.
A. I.
Ample parking
Lovely welcoming staff
Nice carvery
Amazing puddings!!
It isn't our 1st visit...won't be our last!!
A. R.
It was just great. Carvery exceptional value for money. Friendly staff. Perfect start to our holiday.
J. A.
It was delicious, it was clean, it has a child's play area for various ages and I am honestly so pleased with the kind and respectful serve we got will eat here again for sure
G. H.
Me and my daughter come here at least once a month for the carvery. No complaints from us. Always a nice meal and friendly staff.
D. W.
Only called in for a drink whilst we waited for flight to arrive. Quick, friendly service. Comfortable seating. Large parking area.
S. c.
Its usually brilliant but went on a Saturday this time. Main course was lovely but my desert came late and frozen in the middle.
N. W.
A reasonable lunch after having tried to order everything that had run out and then coming to terms with the weird queueing system where every time I got to the front of a queue (there were usually 2) I was told I was in the wrong one (having just watched everyone in front get served) there apparently was only one official queue and you had to guess which one it was a game I wasn't good at !
P. N.
Pre booked for 6 people and we were seated quickly. Food orders straight forward and hassle free.
We ordered starters which were brought out in good time and they were very good.
We were asked by the waitress if we were ready for our mains but they didn't appear for the best part of 45 minutes. The steak was rock hard as was the hunters chicken. They had clearly been under a hot lamp for some time. There were plenty of staff but most seemed to be standing around and carrying the odd cloth except for one young lad who was rushed of his feet and meeting himself coming back. He was extremely attentive and couldn't apologise enough for our wait for mains. It wasn't his fault and we all commented on how he seemed to always have his hands full whilst others didn't appear to be doing very much. He's a credit to your team and well done young man. You carried the most of the team that evening. Very disappointing experience overall though.
J. N.
Good food, fast service and friendly waitress. Good prices also. Only comment would make which is negative is there were a lot of tables outside full of dirty glasses and plates
L. S.
Was Sunday and very busy so advise to pre book a table, plenty off choice on the carvery.
L. N.
Food was the very delicious and not expensive, friendly staff.
J. H.
Amazing food, amazing service. Well worth the 20 minute drive to get there and eat.
P. H.
The best pub grub I've had for a long long time 100% recommended
K. G.
Lovely place. A fine breakfast and a perfect environment for 5s and under to play in the family area. A great setting.
P. W.
Great good food very polite friendly staff but thanks for the enjoyable time we had while waiting to go to the airport recomend it to each and all of your
M. G.
I called in with2 friends they do a carvery and a very good menue while your there you can see the planes take off plus they have a beer garden worth a visit
N. A.
Excellent food , great staff , fantastic environment. Highly recommended. Dessert heaven .
t. b.
Friendly and helpful staff. Lovely food and lots of it. Will be going again.
S. L.
Awful service, need separate queues for food and drink, waiting while someone searches for a voucher for their cheap food is painful l when all you want is a pint...
r. d.
Great place to visit. Good food and looks really nice.
K. G.
New Year Day meal for 16. Food was delicious and didn't take too long to arrive. Staff were really friendly and helpful and they all worked so hard. Would definitely recommend especially for a large party of people. Can be quite stressful for 16 people but they made everything really easy.
N. A.
Very average slow service (great people)and didn't have what I wanted to eat from the menu (fish)
S. S.
Just got back from an all inclusive holiday. Flight home to Leeds Bradford airport so we decided to go have a roast dinner and it was flipping lovely just what we needed, the food was amazing. Staff were lovely too!
D. &. C. C.
We had a lovely breakfast here. Highly recommended.
D. N.
Our second visit and it just keeps getting better each time. Awesome carvery and cakes to die for.

Chris&aAngela always go to the Hawthorne farm there is no better place to eat and always there to greet you with smile Denise J xx thank you
C. T.
We go to this place with my family and it is fantastic! The manager is wonderful and always makes and effort, we will be back.
D. C.
Very nice. Friendly staff. Quality food too 👍
M. N.
Good carvery, good selection of veg and 4 meats available. Went on a Sunday at lunchtime and it was busy and queued for a long time to get our food from the counter.
There is a small area for kids to play in.
N. P.
Dee Tate looked after us all
She was great es ever!
Lovely food also
D. B.
Breakfast was great. Really fresh, tasty and good selection. Buffet style on hot plates. Fresh food brought out on a regular basis. Free tea and coffee. £6 for a regular (normal dinner size plate) plus a bonus 20% off through the AA. Would definitely recommend and will be going back again for breakfast.
F. G.
Great place lovely selection of breakfast fare ,and friendly staff recommend it highly and the selection of cakes are delicious .
M. R.
Very busy pub. There was a large choice on the menu, however the manager did seem a little put out when ordering one meal which was out of stock and he had to recommend a different item; the soda was poured from a bottle as opposed to a pump.
L.
We have been to the Hawthorne a few times in the past couple of months and the food has been lovely. Chicken burger was really nice. Staff all really friendly as well. It's improved so much from our visit a few years ago!
D. W.
Was passing by early afternoon on a Sunday so decided to see if we could get food here. It was very busy, but we managed to get a table straight away. Great carvery, very filling and plenty of choice of different meat, veg etc. We also bought two puddings which we took away with us which were amazingly massive! Would recommend!
T. W.
Usually we go to the carvery and have only recently discovered that they do breakfast from 9am till 11am.
Well I can say it’s a fantastic all you can eat breakfast at an affordable price, good quality breakfast items with tea, coffee or orange juice for a little extra.
Myself and Glen enjoy it that much we have become quite the regular.
All the staff are really friendly and polite and a special thank you to Denise as she makes sure we are well looked after.
I love the atmosphere here on a morning as it so relaxed and friendly.
I would definitely recommend anyone to try.
M. R.
Called today it was extremely busy but well organised. Food was lovely & would like to give a special mention about Denise who worked her socks off, a credit to the team nothing was too much trouble & was always making sure the customers were looked after. She made sure a customer along with his wheelchair bound companion had everything
they needed without the need of getting up & about in the busy restaurant. I mentioned this to the duty manager as I felt she definitely went above & beyond. Well worth a visit if you're passing also the cake aways are amazing!!!
A. A.
Food was enjoyable, carvery is always good. Good service.
J. L.
Excellent quality service and food.
Staff friendly and helpful.
k. c.
First family meal out for a very long time and it was perfect. Everything was explained by the greeter, waitress introduced herself a few minutes later at the table. Perfect for any questions about the app. Food ordered within minutes, served in a few minutes, drinks arrived with food. Carvery was plentiful, well cooked and good portions. Desserts were a delight, as always. A couple of small hiccups but all dealt with professionally. Customer service here is faultless. Would highly recommend this place to anyone.
D. G.
Delicious food, desserts as big as your head, reasonable prices and friendly staff. What more could you want? It's also near Leeds and Bradford Airport.
G. M.
Enjoyed the carvery but had to queue for at least 20 minutes until served
M. S.
Went to Hawthorne farm today with family 6 of us altogether got a very warm welcome and we all chose carvery I chose Beef & Turkey wonderful choice of veg my only disappointment was that the sprouts were like bullets you could hardly cut them and when I tried to cut my beef there was a big seam running through it so it was difficult to cut but I noticed it was the end of the joint of beef the turkey was beautiful. We had a lovely afternoon and I decided to take pudding home so I ordered a strawberry cheesecake which I love from you it's the best. When I got home I was very disappointed with the size of the portion as me and my husband had been a few months ago and brought a piece home and it was twice the size. But had a lovely afternoon will be back again soon. Service was excellent the cappuccino machine was broken so I couldn't have my favourite coffee so had a latte instead wasn't the same. Knives could be sharper rather blunt.
L. N.
WOW went here with my partner today for the first time the food was amazing, the staff was very nice and welcoming can't fault it will definitely be returning I would definitely recommend people to go here and try it you won't be disappointed
M.
It is ok not good as it has been price want up . when I want on Tuesday food was not good as been bacon and sausages .
t. w.
Everything was good except I had to join a long queue if I wanted another drink or something
R. G.
Great carvery, massive cake 🎂
👍
C. B.
The Carvery was delicious, with tender meat, & a great selection of vegetables, friendly service. The sauces needed topped up and the food needed to be hotter, or a microwave made available. The vegan torte was delicious.
L. S.
The food is normally a lot better then it was, the chips were over cooked and the salad was a bit soggy the cake thou, wow had carrot cake with fresh cream and it was amazing
W. E.
Always a good experience, great food, fabulous desserts, clean, very helpful staff. Highly recommended.
Updated Sept 2022! Despite a price increase the Sunday morning buffet breakfast is still lovely.
k. c.
Best breakfast in the area, all you can eat and plenty of toast.
K. R.
Normally Farm House Inn are exceptional. Food was over cooked, no one checked our table , lots of diners had to go and source their own cutlery, tables not getting cleaned. Dissappointing visit.
B. W.
Good honest food . Gets very busy ar the weekends . Next 2 leeds and Bradford airport
M. M.
Friendly and quick service. Nice to sit outside and watch the planes take off from the airport.
C. S.
Go here every Sunday for carvery, bit disappointed they no longer have the carrot and swede on the carvery anymore, was my fav. Staff always friendly and happy to help, wouldn’t go anywhere else for my Sunday dinner!
C. L.
Lovely carvery. Decent slices of cake. Nice views of the planes from most seats too :)
S. B.
If it wasn't fir the friendly helpful waitress then the score would have been 2.....
13th Jan. was the visit and they were shirt staffed however the chef was rude with customer at the carvery and the food wasn't cooked right. Boiled potatoes were hard as rock..stuffing not even cooked....pork very pink....no gammon (always have gammon). That lovely helpful lady reassured us and apologised.
They were lucky to have her working that day.
M. M.
A family friendly environment, nice staff and great food.. we have our business Xmas meal here with the ladies and gents from Sentinel Squad UK.
Myself and wife call up several times through the year.
Highly recommended
L. C.
Whilst the food was well cooked and hot a 40 minute wait, when we were told we would wait 15 minutes on ordering at the counter, is poor especially when we had to chase the food up twice. Being told the delay was because we did not order on the app does not account for other diners arriving after us being served quicker because they allegedly did order by the app-how do serving staff arrive at that result?
Good value for money but not the service we expected.
P. H.
Lovely carvery meal. Unfortunately the new person carving the meat only does very small portions. Very small. Not sure if it’s policy or the person carving.
L. B.
Had the large carvery plate. A good quality carvery with a decent portion of meat and wide selection of veg. May have over eaten due to lack of self control. The large portion is huge.
C. B.
Called on after returning from hols. Was busy, had a few non reserved tables. Food looked good for the carvery. However, it was luke warm. Mentioned to waitress who wasn't really bothered.
r. p.
Run of the mill chain pub food/atmosphere, absolutely fine. Had the carvery, nice selection of veg. You know what you're getting and it delivers. Not really a place for fine dining of course, but plenty of choices for all types of palate.
C. B. (.
Went for the carvery, , £7.99 for a standard plate, bargain. Or so we thought.
Extra yorkshire and pigs in blankets for £1said the massive sign inside the pub,
Got charged £1.50. Not a problem
The pigs I'm blankets where overcooked, the yorkshires were flat, the beef chewy, the carrots peas, and cauliflower cheese I think had only briefly been introduced to what ever system they used to cook them, nearly broke a tooth on the sprouts. The roast potatoes were more like jacket potatoes, hard in the middle, even harder on the outside.
Worst meal I've ever had there. Definitely won't be going back
Such a disappointment
N. P.
Great meal in a pub that is in need of a makeover, tired carpets and general feeling of a 'it needs a good dig out'...Portions are excellent and the sweets as the picture show could choke a donkey, all at a decent price.
I. H.
Great food, good choice of beers, and the staff are really friendly, ideal for Leeds Bradford Airport,if your young enough, get someone to drop you there, get a meal and a drink then 5 minute walk to airport terminal, no need to pay extortionate fees for being dropped off, then get picked up at same place after your hols and have another meal good for plane spotters as well, what a diamond find this was.
B. H.
Great for a family meal with young children - one of our regular eateries.
P. L.
A lovely carvery was had. The beef and pork was cooked to perfection, seasonal veg lovely.
The desert menu very nice, but best was their homemade eat in or take away large cakes.
M. D.
Me and my wife had dinner there, our table was booked for 5 so just on dinner time and it has really busy (which is good after the year they must have had) but the service really wasn't good. I had the chicken and mushroom pie, the pie had a very peculiar taste to it and the pastry was hard. My wife had the chicken escalope and that was delicious. I think we may have gone at the wrong time, maybe next time we will try a little earlier and see what happens.
L. H.
Been today, haven't been for so, so long. Food lovely, waitressing staff friendly, bar staff miserable . I don't know why people who work here are miserable, if you don't want to be there, should try another career. Visit was great and food was as lovely as ever.
k. r.
Food was phenomenal the gravy is so dam good we had to go get a extra gravy boat full. meat was cooked to perfection nice and moist. And £45 for 4 meals plus's drinks isn't bad at all
B. J.
Excellent service, waitress on duty today most helpful.
A. H.
I had a really nice breakfast went for the large one.they just gave me a plate and I served myself.3 sllices of bacon 2 sausages a good portion of mucherooms 3 eggs tomato ash browns toast. Been looking forward to it all week.i'd really recomend it. I usually enjoy the Carvery that's a joy too.
P. A. w.
First time visit and absolutely fantastic carvery, and friendly staff
Highly recommended 👌 👍
R. E.
I'm a regular customer here, always come back as the food is fantastic and the staff are lovely and friendly. My favourite carvery around and brilliant breakfasts. Great value for money, I will be back...again!
N. W.
This pub is a large venue.it offers carvery.menu.very large desserts wich you can take away. Reasonable prices.you can either book a table or just turn up.they have a family side and over 16s I think , on the other side of the pub.there is also a well equipped play area for younger children. Also a very large seating area outside. My only downfall was the amount of flies around us while eating the only thing I have to moan about.
P. S.
Service quite slow, the queue for the Carvery, despite being short took an eternity as only one member of staff at lunchtime!!! He was not only having to get refills from the kitchen he was having to carve the meat etc. The quality of the food on the Carvery was not up to the normal standards we have had before. Poor experience this visit.
G.
Like a lot of people my wife and I have been careful about where we visit recently, and haven't ventured out to eat more than a handful of times in the last 6 months.
Never visited Hawthorne Farm before and just happened to look in on a recent return from a day out walking.
The instruction displayed were noticeable and clear and we were greeted by warm and friendly staff who made us feel safe and at ease immediately.
The help and advice when seated was again clear and good, and we felt very comfortable.
We chose to eat from the carvery, and after being escorted to our starting position, the politeness, food service and assistance was impeccable. We initially weren't sure how 'self service' was going to work, but with a protective screen and staff plating up for you there wasn't a concern at any time.
The food itself was as you'd expect, nicely cooked, hot and very enjoyable, and good value for money.
(Although I would have added another * had the sprouts been cooked a bit longer! - My personal taste)
I would also add that our experience was at 4.30pm on a Wednesday, so may of course be busier and slightly different at peak times.
All in all it was a very pleasant meal out and would have no hesitation in visiting again when in that area.
Well done to all involved and continue with your high standards.
K. T.
Lovely food prices very reasonable beautiful gardens very warm and relaxed place to eat
J. B.
The meal and drinks were very nice, staff friendly, slight problem, not enough staff, which had been explained to us before, apparently no takers for staff vacancies. The kids were kept amused in the play area and made friends. Overall we had experienced a pleasant afternoon, with a good atmosphere and a high standard of food, will go again for definitely.
M. R.
Far too many tables for staff to keep a check on everything in my opinion. One lovely staff member and the rest like robots. Frozen all the time in there. Food wasn't anything to write home about.
l.
Called here on Sunday to give the place a try. Couldn't get through to book so just turned up. Was lucky to get a table as it was packed. We ordered food at the bar ...I was having carvery so had to queue. It was very busy due to covid rules ,so no self service. Took me about 20/30 mins to get my food but it was 5pm on a Sunday so maybe other times will be less busy. Food absolutely faultless ...yorkshire puddings are huge! Other items ordered off standard pub menu are delivered to the table . My daughter got a slice of cake to take home and a slushy. Will definitely be back ,loved it.
T. T.
Sorry to say veg too hard, stuffing like past didn't seam cooked ,

We visited Hawthorne Farm, 04/08/2021, with a party of 12, usual thoughts is a 12 gonna be a struggle. All arrived at different time as travelling from different location in Harrogate & Leeds so wasn't so much a problem getting organized. We were, certainly I, was greeted well with a pleasant manor even though you could see they were quite busy.
With it being a carvery and an alternative menu I just checked what we needed to be done to get us all eating together. I was told how to organize this, again pleasantly. Got food all sorted. Some from the menu most from carvery. All the food was excellent and plentiful. All stuffed couldn't move or eat another thing. Then the dessert menu came.
Ok, we'll have some of that. The sharing portion of Eton Mess was amazing enough, but the single portion of fudge cake was just WOW. How she ate that I just don't know.
Above all the praise for food, the service was so much better than a well known top celeb restaurant I'd eaten in recently. Won't mention which one as Gino might get upset.
Excellent service. Very polite manor, and very nice people made it a very enjoyable evening. I would happily visit there again without question. I would defiantly recommend Hawthorne Farm to anyone and everyone.
Thank you all for everything that made an enjoyable evening.

Always a treat to go here. Everything is good
L. T.
Lovely breakfast again with great service from Denise J :)
K. O.
Carvery nice but 50 mins wait for a mixed grill asked for well done steak was still really bloody sausage tasted like that had been cooked then re-warmed defo wasn’t worth the money I paid for it
N. N.
I have been 3 times now all within a month. I always get the Ultimate Carvery. The first time I went the the older gentleman who serves the meat went in the back to get the bigger plate for the Ultimate Carvery. The second visit a younger man just used a normal plate, I didn't say anything. The last visit it was the same older gentleman from my first visit and he put the meat on a normal plate. I said last time you gave me it on a bigger plate. He wasn't happy and went in the kitchen to get a bigger plate. What is the point of paying more for a bigger carvery when you are being sneaky and putting it on a smaller plate?
D. M.
I don't know what happened to my review, but will try again. I was told there was no chicken tika, so tried the chicken skewer without chips... It arrived with chips, and all on top of a flatbread, which unfortunately had gone soggy by the time I found it. Otherwise it was a good meal just spoilt by the soggy flatbread, and the chips I didn't want.
m.
Great breakfast as always!! Denise J is such a breath of fresh air! Aways smiling and nothing is ever too much!!
J. C.
Although not a fan of carvery I have been here several times because my son loves a roast dinner. The food is decent quality and really good value.
H. N.
Food was lovely but the meat portions are very thin slices when they used to be quick thick slices and nobody answer the phone any day and they say to just turn up and they will seat you but if you don’t book you’ll be waiting along time before being seat. Booking hardly ever works
Y. B.
My daughter (Sam) & grandchildren took me out for dinner. Which was Absolutely Beautiful, loads of vegetables. Gammon & Pork then we went out to watch the planes taking off. Had a great afternoon with them all. Definitely Recommend out ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
A. V.
Great food lovely helpful staff and good prices Always busy but always find a nice table lovely atmosphere
Y. A.
Nice place to eat. Family Children area is really Great. Food grand, just be careful with the cheesecake, VERY Big. Grand.
P. B.
Excellent food in the main. Fabulous chips. Overall much better than spoons
C. T.
Lovely food. Guy behind the carvery had to work alone for a long time, seemed very unfair.
I think the staff could look a lot smarter than they do though, I wasn't impressed.
J. W.
Staff very friendly, everyone couldn’t do enough. Philip thank you for help with vegan choices, you went the extra mile. Supervisor well done to your staff. Food brilliant too. Thank you everyone.
S. &. G.
Decent enough. Undercooked sausages .
But VFM right up there . Recommended 110%
J. W.
Lovely place for a family meal great prices and food
L. L.
I recently visited here with my friend, all Covid requirements were met.
The friendly front of house staff were extremely helpful and on hand to take care of us... the male manager that day was really on the ball.
We both had the carvery... what a selection. The meat was cooked perfectly, the vegetables and condiments were served on our plates by the waiting staff and nothing was too much trouble for the team.
We will be back!
K. K.
Really nice place had the carvery.. Good food and good prices.
J. W.
Excellent value.......
We, my wife and I and two friends, have just arrived home from Hawthorne Farm and are resting our well fed stomachs after tucking into the carvery. My goodness what excellent value. The food was superb, the meats, a selection of 4, were roasted to perfection, the vegetables were just right not boiled to death as in some pubs/ restaurants and the service was spot on. The chef carving the joints was very polite and friendly in fact the whole experience was very pleasant. We will definitely be going back.
N. C.
Great food and drinks. Ideal for a pre holiday afternoon.
H. S.
Nice carrots,Dee tate super helpful, gave us advice on deals
M. M.
Very clean. Very good service and food was fantastic. Bit disconcerning as no spaces between tables. The place was packed. Considering we have only just come out of lock down, this eatery was packing in as many as they could. Wouldn't go again
D. B.
It is what it is a carvery, however very well done and a great dessert menu to please just about anyone but beware the portion sizes are huge. 😱🍰👍
l. p.
Wow, I have visited a few places with the eat out to help out offer and they were all ok. But having today visited you I have to let you know how impressed I was by the measures you have taken, you have thought of literally everything. We felt so safe, your staff were amazing and as usual food fabulous. You have gone a long way on making people to feel safe going out again which is such a big deal at this time. Thank you so much and you should be very proud of yourselves, I hope you share this with your team as they are a credit to you.
N. M.
Amazing carvery, Dee Tate was amazing too
K. P.
Mixed answers whether accept nhs discount (says online does). Presumed manager rudely stated paperwork changed and said couldn’t have it. Fair do’s but no need for rudeness.
P. M.
My son and I have just visited Hawthorne farm and we have had excellent service with all requirements of social distancing addressed.
We both opted for the carvery, the beef just melted in the mouth and the gravy had definitely been made with the meat juices. It's 10 out of 10 from us and we hope to be visiting again soon !!
m. s.
Called in for all you can eat Breakfast can go for refill as many times as you like very happy & full nice clean and happy staff 😋
s. a.
Fantastic food, plenty of it, full of flavour, brillant atmosphere.
A huge thank you to the wonderful staff for sing Happy Birthday to me & even Put candles im my cake. Fabulous evening.
J. H.
Food was lovely and very well presented we were a party of 9 all ordered different things from the menu and all arrived at the same time. Everyone enjoyed their meals.
D. B.
Beautiful food, great prices. Lots of seating and you can see the planes take off
M. B.
Excellent food, great staff and brilliant apmoshere
B. E.
Very friendly place. Food good and served quickly. Nice and clean and quite spacious
L. M.
Erm, was there for 9am most of staff are definitely not morning people 😕.. but breakfast was ok. Waffles were nothing special though.
b. g.
A very mediocre carvery, staff were friendly and helpfull, and the premises were clean and tidy. I personally found the portion of meat very small, and the rest of the food was nothing to write home about. Its the first time I have used a 'green king, establishment for a carvery for a meal, but didn't compare favourably to any of the Toby inns I have ever been in.
J. P.
Really nice carvery with a choice of small, medium or large plates (prices go up at the weekend). Plenty of potatoes & veg and they even had roast parsnips (yay!). The pub is surprisingly big but not congested. Nice decor & atmosphere with attentive staff. Nice toilets too (always a good indicator I find!).
J. H.
Great place to eat. Bar area, family area and a kids play area. Carvery is amazing and comes in different sizes. Staff are always friendly and helpful and the desserts are ridiculous. Can't help but take a picture to send to friend and family.
They look and taste incredible and you can also take them away for when the carvery has been a bit much but you don't want to miss out.
F. B.
Really enjoyed our time there good food 😁👍
M. N.
Great food. Absolutely great service from Leanne the assistant manager.
A. B.
It took 55 mins to get our food and when it finally arrived it was stone cold. The team leader called Denise was so nice and a valuable member of staff.
A. A.
The reception was excellent, we had a good walk
L. S.
Celebrating our Grandaughters birthday and all the family enjoyed a fabulous evening at Hawthorne Farm. Can't praise the food enough. I opted for the carvery and it didnt disappointed, beef, turkey, pork and gammon have ample choice of meat and with 10 veggies to choose from, by far worth every penny. With 10 of us having different choices from the menu, scampi, chicken, burgers, fish and skewers we were all happy. All the staff were very welcoming and attentive and Dave (who I assume was the Manager) was on the ball checked on us regularly, service was fast and nothing was too much trouble. We had asked for a very quiet area, as this was our first time out as a family since before lockdown
and I myself was very anxious about health and safety through COVID. I shouldn't have worried, safety was obviously high on Hawthorne Farms priorty, and all the relevant restrictions were being met. Well done and thank you for a very enjoyable experience. We will be back.
D. M.
Great breakfast and staff really friendly 👌
A. P.
Love it here. Spend a lot of weekends having carvery or the Yorkshire pudding wrap here. Nice atmosphere and the staff are amazing, always friendly and make sure you're happy with you're food. Location is great as it's right next to the airport and you can sit in or out and watch the planes land or take off. Nice family, friendly place. Would highly recommend.
L. D.
Food is good, a big carvery that you plenty of choice with and can pile your plate high.
Play area for the kids as well which they really like. Limited beer selection.
I. C.
This is the first time I brought my mum and she’s elderly and my mum really loved the service and everything and she said your staff have a lot of humanity and respectful and very generous and wasn’t pestered as we’ve been to many pubs and we were pestered every minute and they don’t have your generosity and she thanks you a lot and in future we will only visit you. You are 70 stars from five 😂
I. A.
Easy free parking
Good hot food
Very well priced desserts for the quantity
Vegan food available though when I went they were out of the beetroot burgers
Friendly staff
Delay in food time - ordered a tea and a cake, the cake took half an hour to come, and the wrong dessert was brought first but they did immediately change it and the cake was an amazing size and they hae boxes saved to take home because they know you won't finish it all!
P. S.
Very covid aware and we felt very safe when eating here. Ordering drinks and food is done via the app at your table. This may put some people off but is actually very easy to do. No queuing for the carvery, you choose the items that you want and it is delivered to your table...good sized portions! A great dining experience!
A. S.
Good food for this type of eatery at reasonable prices.
Should of taken some photos of the cakes as they are amazing.
Could not eat it on the day so taken home and a slice lasted two days!!
Awesome.....
P. P.
A very nice carvery with a choice of 4 meats and every vegetable you can think of including cauliflower cheese. You have a choice of sizes as well to suit your appetite. Well cooked food good service at a brilliant price. I really enjoyed my visit. If you don't want the carvery there is a good pub type menu.
R. B.
My partner and I came to eat here with a few friends.
The restaurant is a good size and due to being a peak time, it was also very busy!
Having seen previous reviews about the food and service we were expecting to have to wait a while, but! Within a minute or so we were greeted with a big smile from a waiter named *Luke*, who showed us to our table, handed us our menus and clearly explained our options and how to order.
We chose from the menu as the Carvery was busy and although we had a picky eater with allergies, Luke listened patiently and made sure that our requirements were met. The food came very quickly and was both hot and delicious! (If you do not have room for desert there, I would take a piece of cake away with you) I could not fault the food or the service and will be sure to return again soon!
A big thank you to Luke for making our experience memorable! And to the kitchen who cooked our food perfectly.
P. Q.
Second visit to the Hawthorne in two weeks both times very good. Pleasant and helpful staff and there's plenty space between tables plus the food is good and the deserts are large and a good play area for children. Shall be going again.

J. F.
Had the Carvery it was excellent. All good.
D. F.
It's okay food. Been twice and would go again. Value for money yes.
C. C.
We had their buffet breakfast with a standard size plate. Excellent value, all cooked well apart from the black pud which I think had dried out under the lamps due to a lack of takers. Friends had egg Benedict, others, waffles and ice cream. Everyone happy with their choices. Recommended and would be happy to visit again.
P. C.
Very busy on a Sun lunchtime but got served very quickly, seen to have a good system in place. Didn't eat thou so can't comment on the food.
M. Z.
Great carvery. Lovely food, reasonably priced and good service. Couldn't fault it.
R. V.
Great pub but have been unable to eat every single time we have been as they finish serving food far too early! Very disappointing for such a large destination pub that is set up specifically for dining... Have ended up going down the road to Murgatroyds, Stoops and Stone Trough every time. Such a shame.
C. A.
Really nice breakfast, all you can fit on a plate for a good price. The pancakes are really nice too. I visited with a kid with special needs and, unusually, had absolutely no problems here. The staff are great, I can't emphasise that enough, even the door staff was friendly and welcoming. Airports are busy places that always raise my blood pressure (even when I'm not travelling) but the staff not only offered prompt and courteous service, they were superb at making me feel safe and welcome, and security even took the time to show us somewhere to sit and watch the planes after our meal. All in all, a fantastic day out that I unequivocally recommend.
S. W.
Absolutely great place for all, lovely surroundings along with the famous carvery.
It was really busy and the staff did an excellent job.
The dessert bar is second to none with the homemade cakes and the giant eclair is a whopper, very happy with my experience, thanks Steven Wilson.
j. j.
Pre flight meal carvery good value&hot.staff very friendly
J. E.
The staff here are amazing! Food is great, and good value for money. Nice clean facilities. Safe, clean children's play area. Really though, the staff are amazing!
N. S.
Nice food but service is very slow especially waiting for food to come out at breakfast, shame really
D. T.
I visited hawthorne last week with a friend and well what can I say. It was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. From the moment we walked in our host Dave was amazing, he explained the new covid rules superbly and made us feel very welcome and comfortable. When it was time to eat he took us up to the carvery and explained once again the process, the food was plentiful and cooked to perfection, the staff couldn't do enough for us and and the whole team we came into contact with was so friendly and helpful, I will definitely be visiting again in the near future and cannot wait
H. E.
Really enjoy this place. Good for kids with the play area and decent food menu for all. The carvery is lovely and I only knocked off one star as the veggie option of mushroom pie took half an hour to come to my table after being told it would only take 3 mins (and twice asking about it) and by then I'd already eaten the rest of my plate. They put it in a box for me to take home on request though and it was delicious the next day. Amazing cake too.

The set meals here is average at best however I have to credit them to their carvery as the food is very nice. You get a large portion of meat and a large plate for a great price (with the regular size) (this can be upgraded to get more meat, Yorkshire puddings and some pigs in blankets) the Yorkshire puddings are lovely and taste homemade (I'm not sure if they are). The huge downside is how busy it gets and the waiting time. We had it wait half an hour to be seated and then there was a large line to pay for carvery tickets and then a large line to the self serve carvery. All in all the carvery is brilliant, the set meals are average at best and the service is sometimes poor however not all the time.

Family-friendly, very busy at Sunday lunch, but they under promised and over delivered - we were told 15 minute wait for a table and were seated well before then. Queue for the carvery was slow but did keep moving. Food was good and generous portions as help yourself. My first visit but will be back.

Julie is so lovely and a great waitress - had a great time

One of the best carvery. Don't get me started on the cakes, they are huge and really nice.

Nice food and service, staff good.

The basic pub food you would normally expect from a chain of beefeater/ weatherspoon type establishments is much improved at this place, fresh and tasty and has one of the best menu's I've seen 😋 if your not having the amazing carvery. Well worth a visit, definitely five 🌟 for pub food 😀👍 good prices aswell

Lewis was really polite and helpful, great service.

Times are changing and it is odd to witness new procedures laid out in order to accommodate customers in this difficult time of covid 19. Hawthorn have implemented these changes well however I feel they need to ensure customers do infact follow theres for the safety of other customers, i only say this due to my table being 1m away from another table, now this could be OK if the customers that Hawthorne sat there remained seated however they did not and repeatedly throughout my meal came very close to my daughter and I. Their child didn't have any parental discipline and continuously ran around my table and entered the childrens play area, inspeight of several signs and red and white tape condoning off the area. One staff member did see this child and said once that it was closed due to covid but didn't say anything else when the child continued to play in the childrens play area.
The food was lovely as I have come to expect over the years of coming to Hawthorn.

A nice atmosphere for a Sunday evening. The carvery was good plenty of it! Only order large if you are a big eater. The mixed grill was slightly disappointing. I would have gladly swapped some ofy generous portion of peas for another type of veg or salad. On the whole though the meal was value for money.

Exelent pup for something to eat before you fly, and not airport prices

Food good and plenty on plate

Very welcoming great selection of alcoholic and soft drinks and food menu is large from full meals to sandwiches. Full table service or can be ordered and paid for using a simple app would recommend to everybody.

This is a very busy place!! I went with a group of 8 people at 6pm ish and found a table for us all . The bar service was speedy and ordering food easy. We were asked to wait for a few minutes whilst the carvery was being replenished, however the short wait was well worth it and the carvery was excellent. As a disabled person it's really difficult to go and get my food so a member of staff took my order for me , and delivered it to my table. The staff were kept very busy for the two hours I was there and went about their work quickly and quietly. I can see why this place has become very popular . Plane spotters paradise. I dropped one star not because of what anyone did it was because of one of my pet hates!!
The baby changing facilities are in the disabled toilet and considering this is a new build the toilet is not large enough. The baby change had been left open so I couldn't get in and a family member had to put it away for me . Then I discovered that I couldn't get my chair next to the toilet because there were three large waste bins in the way!! I managed but it's embarrassing and unnecessary in a new building.
Hence 4 star instead of 5?
Breakfast menu is served from 8am till 11am

Very busy on a Sunday afternoon long queues for the carvery. Staff very pleasant and helpful.

Great place great food. All staff are polite and helpful. Play area is amazing for children.

The carvery was excellent, good food, well cooked, with very good service. A large car park and good food attracted many visitors, but a huge seating area ensured seats and tables were available and the food was delivered promptly. I particularly recommend the enormous deserts and for good measure they provide a take home facility in a secure plastic container.

Not the best evening out...luke warm chips, over cooked burgers, thin and tasteless gammon steak...very disappointed this time after we enjoyed a nice carvery on our last visit!!
S. B.
Enjoyed a very tasty carvery, there is a choice of small/medium and large portions, and there is an excellent choice of meats and vegetables. There is also a good choice of other options if you don't want a carvery all at reaaonable prices. The staff are very pleasant and courteous.

Enjoyed a carvery meal to celebrate my grandsons birthday. It was lovely and very good value for money. They even let us bring our own birthday cake. Thank you. We WILL buy pudding next time!

Slowest barman I've ever come across here, not only the youngest but obviously had no idea about customer service. Waited 10 minutes while he messed about with previous customers order this lunchtime whilst other two staff had served everyone else courteously and efficiently. The carvery and desert were delicious, the barman needed training.

For a relaxing drink this is a really cosy and comfortable retreat. There’s plenty of seating with tables and everywhere is clean. Although it’s clearly geared more as a restaurant the staff were friendly enough when just getting drinks and it was really welcoming. There’s a large carpark but if you’re walking from the airport direction it’s annoying that there’s no side entrance, instead having to walk right round the perimeter to get in; fortunately the nice atmosphere makes the extra steps worthwhile though and the music throughout the pub is really effective. On a Friday lunchtime it got quite busy, including some big groups for lunch. There’s a nice range of drinks and the prices, including for the food, was reasonable. To pass some time I’ll certainly be returning when I’m in the area.

One of several visits to have a mid to late morning breakfast. Fairly consistent, albeit food quality varied a little, as did temperature of it too! Any issues were addressed without question. Excellent value for money. I usually dine on the largest option breakfast, with unlimited tea or and coffee. Service and waiting was attentive. Clean and tidy venue, being of comfortable temperature and air conditioned. Ample parking. Will try the carvery at some point for lunch or evening dinner. It looked ample and appealing. The venue includes full bar facilities and has a large, indoor childrens play area, adjoining part of dining area, as well as also being an Hotel neighbouring Leeds & Bradford airport, around 1/4 miles away. Overall an excellent venue and experience almost achieving 5 stars.

Need more staff on bar taking orders

Love this place. It's amazing for how close it is to the air port but can hardly hear the planes. The service is really quick and tastes really good. The drinks selection has a wide variety and the desert items are as big as your arm. Couldn't even finish it and I have a black hole for a stomach. Would definitely recommend to anyone who loves good quality food for a good price. 👌🏻

Very close and handy to Leeds Bradford Airport for those going to it. Free flat large car park. Wheelchair suitable main entrance and facilities. Standard menu for this chain( we have visited 6 different locations). Staff are great. The desserts are very generous so they do "cake away". Be aware the carvery closes at 9:00pm. Seemingly regardless of them taking your money for it. Out party of 13 were a bit rushed by this.

Great before you fly. We always eat here before catching a flight back home to Spain. It's very reasonably priced and the carvery is great. The sweets are to die for, unfortunately being diabetic I can't, damn. .. however I do enjoy a real ale and they have plenty. Give the place a try before you fly.... you won't be disappointed.

Had better, had worse. Carvery is inexpensive and you get generous portions. It's usually rammed so service can be a bit slow if your ordering off the main menu. There's a free play area for children, but this is very run down. There are only a couple of tables in view of the play area so one parent ends up waiting for food at the table while other watches kids.

Visited today without booking, were made very welcome, sat outside with our dog and ordered food on the app. Staff were very helpful and kind and made a big fuss of our dog. Lovely burger and pie plus cake to take home. We will be back!

Cracking tender meats and fresh veg. The best carvery I have tried and above all the staff go the extra mile especially with our disabled guests. Well done guys, the chefs were hot but not bothered a tough job in any weather.

Despite it being a busy Tuesday lunchtime, my friend and I ordered lunch and drinks. The food came within 10 minutes, ahead of the 15-20 minute estimate. It was hot, plentiful and very tasty. My friend chose Yorkshire pudding, sausage and mash and I chose the under 600 calorie option of gammon, egg, pineapple and salad. Both were excellent. My friend swapped the giant Yorkshire for two smaller Yorkshires with no quibbles and was asked if she wanted more gravy by a very helpful assistant who was clearing the table next to ours. We both enjoyed an ice cream in a waffle cone for pudding. We will be returning soon to sample their dinner menu. Yummy.

Very nice large areas for drinks and dining. Menu had good choice and the carvery excellent. Staff and service also good. Outside tables and car parking. Very near the Leeds and Bradford Airport. Would recommend.

This is a good quality family pub. I arrived at 6pm on a Tuesday. It was not too busy with no queue at the bar and I was able to place my order straight away. The food took about 10-15 mins to arrive and it was a good meal. I would be happy to eat here again.

Lovely little carvery but can get very busy. We go alot after school for an ice cream treat and to watch the planes take off/land.
I have been for breakfast as well and for the price its a really good meal with as much toast, tea and coffee you want.
The kids love their kids set menu but also how much they can get on the carvery if the feel extra hungry.
The cakeaways are amazing and my last one lasted 3 days ( I had a layer a day!)

Very clean and spacious. Good parking. Food and drinks were fine. I'll go back. Like the concept of carvery breakfast and the food was very good. Just found the organisation a bit complicated but that could be me. I'm a silly old boy. Like. For me a good indicator is the state of the toilet and they were very, very good. Visit if you get the chance

Great food and very well-priced, with an effortless atmosphere, attentive staff, and the best (and biggest) slabs of cake anyone could ask for.

Good breakfast, horrible carvery. We do like this as a family place but all hated the carvery. We've cancelled our Easter meal here now. Will keep coming back for breakfast though. The carver was rude too and refused to give me three Yorkshire puddings. Toby Carvery beats it in quality, service and experience.

Good food, good service, great prices relaxed atmosphere.
Great for the family and adult only parties too.

Been here lots of times but this time was disappointed, I chose the fish and chips, the batter on the fish was soggy & the fish was tasteless. The bar & waiting staff are lovely , welcoming and friendly ,will go again but choose something else

Went for Sunday lunch 26th of September had the carvery, the chef that carved the very happy and helpful, got loads of meat .very nice indeed will return .

Full English, kept us satisfied until landing in Prague. A good way to start your journey.

Love this place. Go there every week with my hubby. All the staff are lovely EXCEPT the older, bald, spectacle wearing gent who is always behind the bar. He was NOT a happy chap when I had to make a TINY complaint about my mum's food. I've NEVER had to complain there before, but my mum's food was inedible. Hopefully you never have to make a complaint here, but if you do, avoid this man!

Not bad we did not have a resavation but was shown to a table we were not told to order food on a app after waiting 20 minutes I had to get the waitress attention and she got order she was very nice and explained everything it was the manager that put us on that table he should have explained to us

Great service, food was delicious and the portion sizes are big. Good value for money.

The reason I haven't given you 5 stars is because the carvery was very underwhelming to be quite honest. The food was cold and the meat dry. Every single part of the carvery tastes the same, whether you had a roast potato or a piece of turkey, all one flavour. So I thought it was quite expensive. I ordered a coffee which was £2.50 and this was supposed to be an americano but it tasted like water! So no, couldn't give you more than 3 stars.

Lovely place, we had the Sunday carvery which was well cooked, tasty and plenty of meat & veg choices. Great vantage point for watching the aeroplanes coming and going. You can just drop in for food but I would advise you to book at busy times as there was a 40 minute wait on the Sunday we went.

Nice food, Great price and lovely deserts however we came with my 10 year old step son and was told we had to sit in the children's area.
He had no interest in going into the play area as it is aimed at smaller children. He was also alone so would not have created a fuss so I am unsure are why we had to go sit in children's area for no reason. We were even offered a seat nearer the back we had to sit right next to the play area. This was my husbands first visit after I had praised my previous visits. He wasnt impressed.

Lovely venue and a great location for watching the planes take off . Food is typical carvery (extensive selection of vegetables). Meat is limited in amount but good quality and 4 choices. The sweet 'trolley' is amazing! One is more than enough to share!!!

Fantastic Carvery, Excellent service. It was very busy when arrived, having walked from the airport Travel Lodge. Unbelievable large slabs of cheesecake available, had to take a slice away with us because the Carvery was so big we couldn't eat another thing. Very helpful and attentive staff despite how busy the place was. Needs a pedestrian access for those walking from the airport direction though.

Very child friendly atmosphere staff can have a laugh especially the manager ben and Denise T definitely will be coming back 😀
