Reviews of Kirkstall Bridge Inn
6.
Lovely Sunday dinner!!
It’s popular so you have to book (Covid or no Covid). You get your table for two hours which is plenty and during our ‘slot’ we saw two groups of people politely told they were fully booked.
There’s both an upstairs and downstairs bar, the downstairs bar being dog friendly. The booking system asks which area you’d like to be in, including outside). The Sunday menu is simply a traditional Sunday roast with a choice of three meats as well as both a Vegetarian and a Vegan roast. The success I believe is it’s simplicity. Because the chefs aren’t having to make a zillion different meals they are concentrating on perfecting their roasts. My first test is always whether the veg includes peas, not because I dislike peas but because a lot of pubs serve these as an easy option (easy to cook from frozen). No peas here though…instead we got perfectly cooked broccoli, carrots and cabbage.
The shredded brisket was delish and yaaay parsnips, stuffing and a pig in a blanket and it’s not even Christmas!! 😁👍🏻
Topped off with a huge home cooked Yorkshire pud and no skimping on the gravy!
We also shared a sticky toffee pud with again, plenty of caramel sauce.
We will deffo book here again!
Bonus: Because it’s by the river and canal you can cross the road and go for a wander down the tow path before or after your meal/drink.
S.
Good selection of cask Ales.
Unfortunately the chicken burger was slimey and lacked flavour. At £11 this was a disappointment. Chips were OK, wish I'd just got some bacon loaded fries.
Pizzas were sold out, so guessing they're better.
R. H.
Knowledgeable staff serve the local brewery's finest selection of beers alongside a range of hearty and more innovative food. When hosted in a solid old stone building flanked by a beer garden that raises the exciting possibility of drinking underwater should it flood, there's a lot to like. Plus, they're dog-friendly in the downstairs bar.

Beautiful Sunday roast, as always. Disappointed listening to 1 disgruntled person find fault in everything (despite eating every single bit of his meal, as well as his child’s). Can’t please everyone :-)
Been many times and always faultless. Would recommend for not just Sunday lunch as food here is always spot on, whichever menu you have. Staff are s friendly and welcoming and plenty of selection of drinks.
D. w.
Dog friendly pub, good location by the river. Really nice in summer. Huge beer garden and under cover outdoor seating, can be fairly expensive and full of rowdy students at times. Car park a bit awkward to get in and out of as only one car at a time can enter/leave.
M.
This is a nice pub and the food is good, when you can get it that is. The options on the menu vary for no apparent reason. On Sundays they sometimes serve food to walk ins other times they do not. I would not recommend going here for food if you have not booked in advance.
M. K.
Great real ale, kept very well and a nice friendly pub, right next to the river ideal for summer. The pub has a cosy warm feel in winter, so ideal to visit all year round! Highly recommended.

Update: this is my 3rd time I thought I ordered pulled ham hock and dirty mac & cheese but somehow I got and pulled ham hock & portobello mushroom pizza which I decided to keep and it was fabulous I also had the best onion rings hat I've ever had as a side.. ...Top draw again food again ..I m well happy
Previous visit : Extremely tasty 2nd time and not disappointed great chefs great service great atmosphere .fab outdoor area good value all aroun

Sadly gone a bit downhill. Kirkstall beer is pretty good but the food the last time we went was so bland. Had to cover things in hot sauce, mayo, salt and pepper to make it edible. Really disappointing
S. C.
If you would like to spend nice afternoon with friends and with the beer this pub is definitely place to go. Big cosy garden with the trees making a shade in sunny day.
Service is very quick and effective even if they have more than 50 tables there.
L. S.
A stunning beer garden with a backdrop of the river Aire. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and you can't beat a pint of virtuous after 3 months of lockdown!
Plenty of outdoor seating with their uncovered beer garden, marquee, and a cosy teepee with fairy lights. They have portaloos and an app ordering system in light of current covid restrictions, all very well organised.
M. H.
Fantastic selection of beer, brewed on site, lovely beer garden next to the river, a touch overpriced to say the beer doesn't have to travel far from the brewery, but all in all a very good pub.
A. B.
All time favorite local. Good quality food, beers and a fantastic beer garden.
J. B. C.
Tipi outside plus additional outside seating. Fairy lights up. Outdoor loos. App ordering. By river. Good location.
T. R.
First time visit, lovely pub that does fantastic food.
j. h.
I LOVE KIRKSTALL BRIDGE. their Vega dishes are SO GOOD. homemade sausages and mash. yes please. also vegan proper Sunday dinner! but definitely pre book for that! staff are all always well lovely. the interior is so cute. also who doesn't love a pint of kirkstall?
A. P.
Had the ceaser salad, with added chicken and bacon. Delicious. Loads of bacon to make the £1 extra worth it! The only thing I miss is whole anchovies but I'll let them off. Had a side of chips which were proper chips, really yummy and definitely a big enough portion to share. Menu has improved since the reduced covid menu, looking forward to going back and trying the other bits on the menu.
C. B.
We were a large group of people in for my birthday and the staff were excellent. Some ordered food and the kitchen coped with our orders fine. A great pub and a good atmosphere. Please keep on doing what you're doing. I am local but for many of my friends who live miles away, this is their pub of choice. Thanks for a great afternoon / evening.
B. C.
Great pub, great selection of drinks (e.g. craft ales) and a geat atmosphere. The tent set-up in the garden with open fires inside was amazingly warm on a cold night.
S. C.
Brilliant Sunday lunch, also do vegan options. But you need to book very popular. Great beer
B. L.
Good ale House
A hours walk on canal from leeds station
Well worth a visit
G. R.
The staff are so friendly and this pub has a great atmosphere. Dog friendly, great selection of ales. The food is freshly prepared and delicious, pizza is so tasty, their homemade pies are amazing, the burgers... actually I have never had a meal here that wasn't yummy. The best is the Sunday lunch, you must book as it's so popular.
M. M.
I'm not normally a fan of roast dinners in pubs, as there are very few of them that seem to know how to make a decent one. This pub is one of those rare few.
Roast chicken, pulled pork or beef brisket. All three cooked and seasoned perfectly and still succulent and juicy.
The roast potatoes, crispy on the outside, light and fluffy on the inside. As they should be.
Carrots, broccoli and cabbage, not over or under cooked, like most places. Just right. Edible.
Yorkshire puddings, big and crispy, with enough fluff to soak up the gravy.
Talking of gravy, decent stuff this. Cuts a good line between not being too thick or too thin or too full of bits. Nice.
The stuffing and parsnips are not my thing, so can't comment on those, but everybody else on my table enjoyed them.
I would definitely recommend this place.
M. L.
Lots of outdoor seating, plenty of space, currently outdoor toilets too.
Kirkstall Brewery beers and some guests, good fat fries.
P. M.
Thank you Bridge Inn for having the Tipi this Christmas. Wonderful atmosphere, safe and cosy. Truly lovely place to meet up with my son and his girlfriend. Delicious food too and mulled cider went down well. Please do it next year.
I. K.
Fantastic pub. Staff are friendly and the service, food and beers are all great. Excellent vegan options. Looking forward to my next visit.
J. l.
Great atmosphere and fabulous choice of drinks. Brilliant beer garden
J. K.
Stunning pub in a great location. Overlooking the river it's possibly the best beer garden around but be warned can be very busy at the slightest glympse of sun. Great selection of traditional ales, craft beers, wines, spirits and soft drinks. If you can't find something you like for the casual or hardened drinker or the driver of the group there's something wrong with you! Staff are friendly, eager to please and always willing to go the extra mile. Great Pub, Great Brewery, I can't recommend it enough. Beware of flood season though.. 😬
P. K.
Lovely staff, very accommodating and tbh never had a bad pint poured. The food is always on par, served quickly and never had any mix up when ordering a multitude of items from the menu.
A. J.
Amazing one of the best fish and chips I've ever had. Really made my mum and stepdad happy as well. When my mum was on special dietary requirements for medical reasons you delivered amazing food that she could eat. My absolute favourite pub in Leeds. Excellent service, even took home some scraps of fish for my cat which he really enjoyed.
Z. E.
Lovely pub and amazing fish and chips! Great cider on draft too
S. B.
Lovely pub with great local Kirkstall beers. Ideal for a cosy pint in or an outside pint in the sun
R. A.
I absolutely loved coming here, vegan friendly menu options and great alternative ales to choose from.
E. M.
Delicious food, excellent staff great beers and nice beer garden! 🍺
M. M.
First time visitor and met a few local mates. A pint turned into many and we were one of the last to leave.
b. 2.
Lovely outside seating area, nice staff. Beers are not nice and expensive £9 for 2 ales is too much. But the atmosphere is lovely overlooking the river and the bridge
N. D.
Well done to Kirkstall Brewery for getting up and running again after lockdown. Outside bar with 3 hand pulled beers serving their expansive beer garden. Local residents may not appreciate the slamming if the portaloo doors though!
S.
Great pub, great beer, lovely staff and a fantastic atmosphere
L. L.
The Bridge is my local pub and honestly I love the place. Great staff, drinks and food make it a fantastic place to visit. Tonight I had the lasagne pizza and it’s easily one of the best I’ve ever eaten
Well worth a venture to 👍
D. H.
Great trad pub, with really good food and company
R. C.
Amazing food and drink, staff are 100% on it with service being second to none. Food is well more than you'd expect from a "pub". Really took me by surprise, the venue is beautiful and the quality blew me away. A place for everyone to go to.
K. A.
The Bridge is a reliable bet for decent beer, good music and tasty food. Relaxed atmosphere without loud sports etc. Beers from Kirkstall Brewery (it's effectively the brewery tap), and other imports and collaborations, in tap and casked. Good vegan options on the food too, and vegan GF beer available too!
A. S.
Friendly pub with a great selection of beer. Dog and child friendly with a lovely beer garden next to the river.
f. m.
Love this pub and come frequently. Fab outdoor space and good drinks selection - though would be nice to see more AF beers.
Had the Sunday lunch today and must say I was a little disappointed. I used to come here years ago and leave actually stuffed. I had the vegan roast today and was still hungry afterwards. I seemed to have a lot less on my plate than those who had vegetarian and meat roasts. If they can't provide vegan Yorkshire's it would be good to have more of the other trimmings. Shame as what I had was very tasty.
K. F.
Always a lovely place to go for a drink. Friendly staff and food is reasonably priced
D. T.
Great pub. You have to use an app to order food and drinks but service is fast and staff are super friendly. As the Pub is next to the river it does get busy when the weather is good. So always book in advance if there's more than 2 of you.
Update-Covid restrictions lifted so no longer using the app.
Y. L.
Excellent food and drinks, reasonable prices. Cosy pub. Can't complain.
M. E.
Lovely place for a relaxing beer with a good choice on offer. Can be busy at times. Nice beer garden outside as well by the river Aire.
J. D.
Fantastic outdoor space, great if you like cask ales. Nice choice of food that you can adapt to your liking especially if ordering via the App. Quick efficient service. Given four star as I would personally liked more choice of drinks as I am not a fan of cask ales.
S. M.
Love the atmosphere here and the staff are awesome, friendly and welcoming. Only had a few beers which were great but need to go back to check out the food, the menu looked amazing
C. S.
After our long walk we popped into this place and poppy rested and slept whilst we had a drink. Although we didn't eat there the food looked great and a couple on the table next to us said it was delicious..we will eat there next time 😋 🐾👍
N. B.
Not joking best fish and chips iv ever had and my gf got a chicken burger and it looked nice too would highly recommend just watch the beer on draft its strong 💪
A. W.
It has a great atmosphere. You should visit the tent outside with the wood fire. I gave it 3 because drinks are on the expensive side
S. M.
I love the Bridge. Not only is it local so I can walk there, but also it has a great selection of beers, lovely food, lots of space (cosy pints inside or G&Ts in the expansive beer garden in the sun), and of course, great staff.
V. G.
Really good evening here today! Good vibes from the moment we arrived. The food was some of the best I've had whilst out having a drink. We had a chicken burger and pizza and they were
made sharpish! Shout out to Drew as our server and the rest of the Staff! Quality place 🤟
A. W.
Now I can add 'fantastic new year's to my previous list of positive comments. The Bridge Inn never fails to impress. I love it here!
N. L.
Excellent choice of beers. Good food. A place to spend ages with friends and family
T. R.
Warm, friendly pub on a wet winters evening. Perfect additional bonus of a heated teepee to seat more visitors.
V. M.
Delicious food (roasts and normal menu), delicious beer and staff are always really friendly. Dog friendly outside and downstairs in the pub, and the staff give the dogs attention too which is always a bonus. They’ve put a lot of effort into being safe during the pandemic. I’ve visited around 5 times since reopening, both inside and out, and have been impressed by the measures in place which staff always consistently enforce.
W. P.
Went with the gf, nice half with good food!
S. T.
Great atmosphere, fantastic food, friendly service and great beer! What more could you ask?
R. M.
Visiting for drinks and food on a Sunday afternoon. Very good staff, happy to move us to a table in the sun, excellent beers and a fine selection of gins. Although the food menu is reduced the Sunday lunch sandwich was excellent and a very good idea for outdoor eating. Thank you Kirkstall Bridge
B. E.
Absolutely great place, very nice friendly staff.great ales as a good price.a really friendly place
m.
My first trip out after a year of shielding. It became clear very quickly that everything had been done to make it a covid safe venue. I was greeted in a friendly way, but also making it clear that the rules in place had to be adhered to. The beer was up to this breweries usual high standard. A good selection of food, also to a very high standard. I was able to relax and enjoy an afternoon/early evening out. Thank you to everybody involved, can't praise the organisation and staff high enough.😊😊😊😊😊
P. T.
Lovely christmassy atmosphere in the tipi, seasonal music, mulled cider and great beer as usual 🍻
A. S.
Don’t usually review but had to share how good my Sunday lunch was. Honestly the best I have had in a long time. Lovey chilled atmosphere too
s.
It was good for a weekday lunch with colleagues outside. A shame they didn't do hot drinks outside.
A. P.
Excellent pub located on the River Aire. The beer is mainly Kirstall Brewery's offerings with a couple of guests - so great cask and keg options!
G. W.
Another great location with great choice of beers and good food
L. T. E.
The best Sunday lunch! Book a table to avoid disappointment.
A. l.
I do like this place for a nice little drink and food witch may I say is lovely but I will not lie unfortunately I didn't have the best experience the last time I was here. They have gone on to a app service only witch unfortunately is not clear on how to do it, I think if they put information on the tablets the bast way to use the app I think that would help with all the confusion. That been say this is a disappointment for me and I love the traditional way where I speak too a person.
M. K.
I love it. Lovely pub in a beautiful location. Friendly staff, nice clientele and a great choice of beer. Definitely my kind of place.
F. P.
It has a beer for any taste and mood. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. Although the food choice is not like the usual chains it has tasty veggie and vegan options and gets better and better! Can you tell is my favourite pub?
M. G.
Lovely pub with great food and amazing staff! They have plenty of beers/ales to choose from.
The beer garden is amazing, but can get really busy in summer.
I prefer the bar downstairs as it has a more modern decoration/atmosphere than the one upstairs. They also have a cute lovely little wooden room you can reserve downstairs.
Don't forget to try their fish & chips, pizzas and strawberry sour!
G. C.
Friendly staff, good atmosphere. Ace beer
M. W.
Love this place and proud go be able to call it my local. Great drinks and good. Sunday lunch is knockout.
K. H.
Nice little bar with plenty of outdoor seating under cover. Good selection of local ales and a decent pint too.
S. T.
First pub I've been to since lockdown and was really impressed at how well they had things set up in the beer garden. Everything at a safe distance, really clear where to go, staff all wearing face coverings. And table service was friendly and attentive but kept low key so it still feels like you're at a pub. The staff here are doing a really great job and the place deserves your custom.
A. B.
Another great trip to our new favourite local. Service here always informal and very friendly. A few pints of Stowford press for the lady while I had a session beer to begin followed by Kirkstall pale.
After enjoying the relaxed atmosphere we decided to fill up on hog baps and roasties. Sandwiches were great, a bit of crackling in the bap wouldn't have gone amiss but no complaints - apple sauce was tasty however serving size v moderate - only downside was the roast potatoes. Same texture throughout and missing that initial crunch. Will return soon and thanks to the staff for their consistent friendly service.
E. A.
Great atmosphere over bank hols big cue due to tour d's yorkshire but they cope with it awesome only downside is food wasn't being served buy the time we was hungry but they was food on and 2 other foods early on but that didn't stop the fun great music that was put on to and great use of pallets for seats and tables.
T. S.
Great pub, staff so friendly. Been there so many times, foods are great & very reasonable price. Unfortunately my fone are low in battery, so no pictures of foods we ate today . Totally recommend if you're in Leeds, should visit.
M. F.
Popular local pub that does a terrific Sunday lunch --you need to book .
E. R.
All in all, a really lovely local pub. It has great drinks, delicious food (especially the sunday roasts dinners - meat, veggie and vegan!), friendly staff and a great atmosphere. The beer garden is great in the summer, and they are dog-friendly too! Could not rate them higher - well done Kirkstall Bridge Inn. If we lived a little closer we'd be regulars for sure.
p. t.
Excellent pub. Old fashion, cosy interior with a good selection of beers. Friendly staff too👍
L. H.
went for Sunday lunch and wasn't disappointed. food was excellent and there was plenty of it. staff were friendly and very attentive. it's a great little pub with a good atmosphere. if you want to go for Sunday lunch make sure you book as they get booked up. Will definitely be back
M. S. R.
Loved this place. Good local beers, friendly staff and a nice beer garden near the water. Worth the ride.
C. C.
Slow service for food which was totally un-adventful. Bread overpowered the fillings.
R. M.
Really enjoy visiting this pub. It's my local, it has great food, a good selection of beer and a friendly atmosphere. Gluten free options for food, dog friendly, and really friendly staff. My favourite pub in Leeds!
j. f.
Dog friendly, cosy little pub through the day time. Great local ales, and a fab selection of veggie and vegan options on their food menu, as well as plenty for the meat eaters.
The staff were all really friendly and accommodating, even after our dog had a little accident at the bar.
Would absolutely recommend to anyone!
D. S.
Nice old place close to the river. Plenty of their own beers on tap and bottles with some guest beers too. Free WiFi.
J. G.
Fantastic Sunday lunch including Pig's in Blankets and lots of fresh veg. Service was great as well. Can't recommend enough.
J. C.
Always pop in for a drink when I go to Kirkstall, timeless pub
B. M.
Traditional English pub with a lovely interior and generous selection of home brewed beers. Can be a bit steeper than chains but you pay the difference in quality. Also serves food but I haven't tried it myself, would definitely recommend!
M. C.
Very nice Ploughmans lunch for 2.
Sit at a table, order via their app. Food and drinks appear quickly. Very pleasant.
L. A.
Met a couple of friends here on a Saturday afternoon. Hadn't booked but got a good table and the service was excellent. App really easy to use, quick service and the food was lovely.
N. W.
Nice pub, seem really well geared up during the covid madness too. We had a variety of their local beers and range of food. Burger was average but the rest of the for was nice. Would happily come back again :D
D. H.
Great pub. Lovely decor. Wicked pizzas including vegan options. Brilliant staff
S. M.
Booked for a Sunday roast. The meal was lovely, but the outstanding service from the staff made my day! Our friend had an issue finding the location of the pub and the staff were positive, friendly, helpful and informative. Thanks again!
R. D.
Great range of beers and a fantastic outdoor seating area. Also has a decent sized car park if you're driving. I didn't eat but a nearby table were tucking into a very tasty looking pizza. Quick service by friendly staff.
B. I.
Great experience from start to finish.
A fine selection of ales and beers. The two behind the bar were really friendly and welcoming. Nice chat about the beers, a couple of small tasters and we ordered some food. A Kirkstall pie and sausage and mash. Both were great and went down a treat.
Would definitely recommend a visit if you're passing.
S. W.
Great food nice atmosphere and good service
D. M.
I live a short distance away and should visit here more often than I do. That’s kids for you though ;o) A first class selection of ales are on offer and knowledgeable staff on hand to help, should you need it. The food is superb. I had lamb and mint pie last visit. It was tremendous.
M. T.
Lovely pub. Very nice food, superb pizzas and burgers. Nice outdoor seating area by the river for the warmer months and a car park out back. A bar up and downstairs so it's not normally to much of a wait to be served. Highly recommend this place!
S. H.
It was ok as had to sit outside, but would love to go in the warmer months.
r.
Great and fresh food, highly recommend
N. P.
Really nice cozy pub, staff really nice, I got a charteurie board which was lovely!
R. S.
Excellent fish sandwich for lunch, great range of beer, friendly staff. You really can't go wrong here.
R. S.
The perfect pub with great beers!
O. P.
Old style pub with nice outdoor seating area.
K.
Lovely pub, very inviting, dog friendly and great selection
S. B.
The beer in here is second to none. Very well looked after, a great selection that changes frequently. A bloody massive beer garden that, in the summer, gets very full. I've not eaten here for years so can't comment on that aspect. I visit every few week to meet some mates that live locally and we always stay for too long! Nice pub.
P. B.
This was my first time here. My friends had raved about the place so I thought I'd give it a try. I had just been on a nice walk along Kirkstall canal and popped in for a quick pint as it would be rude not to. Virtuous was tasty as even and going down nice so decided to order some food. I ordered the chicken burger. When it came, about 20-25 minutes later, ( I have no objection waiting for food when they are busy) it was obvious that the oil needed changing but most of all the chicken burger was very, very dry. I told a member of staff about it and he did apologise but I was that hungry and didn't fancy waiting any longer for my food i ate it. If I come back again then hopefully I will have a better experience.
A guy who i believe was a manger came over and apologised for the food and very much appreciated the feedback. Very kindly offered me another drink on the house but I had had enough.
M. C.
Birthday lunch with the family.
Great selection of beers, coconut stout was very very good!
Staff are very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.
Food was excellent, good menu to choose from.
We will return!!
Thank you.
D. p.
Had first meal out yesterday since lockdown food was fantastic only thing could do with outside heaters, would have stayed longer. All staff are fantastic and friendly
P. J.
Nice beer, good grub and friendly staff, what more do you need for a night out.
D. B.
Friendly staff and lovely food 😁
T.
Great food and a good selection of ales. A fantastic beer garden perfect for chilling info out in with a few mates on a lazy afternoon. Would also recommend this place for the fireworks on bonfire night. All in all, a real diamond in the rough. Highly recommended.
K. L.
I love this bar. Very chilled traditional and lovely waterside beer garden. Even better on a bank holiday when festivals are on. Food is okay, could be a touch better but it does the job. As a pub though (which is how I rate it) it's top notch.
S. L.
Great food and excellent beer
I. P.
Always a pleasure been here , one of my favourite places to drink.
Great beer , great service and amazing beer garden.
Felt very safe with the precautions that were in place.
R. S.
Nice place. Was only there for an hour but looked great. Good selection of ales and largers alike. The food that was coming out looks delicious, I was with my mate and he spoke highly of the food. Good prices too. They also allow dogs in which is a big plus for walkers. Outside seating looked nice but it was too cold when I went. Would recommend to anyone looking for a nice pint or a decent meal, or both! Will be returning for sure.
R. H.
I've had a couple of not too shabby roast dinners here. Fairly large place with a decent sized outdoor area. Staff are friendly enough and service is pretty swift. A solid gastro pub.
C. M.
One of my favourite places. Definitely my favourite pub. Without question. Great atmosphere, brilliant staff. Fantastic Sunday roasts!! (Other food is great too, but the Sunday roasts are next level) It's just ace.
A. W.
Great pub. Cosy. Friendly. Good beer selection. Clean. Not too pricey. Only downside is frequently very busy. Sometimes difficult to find a table. Have to book for Sunday dinner.
D. T.
Nice pub, can get busy. Had a lovely lamb shoulder for Sunday lunch once. Great range of beers, including some interesting American imports on draft, but consequently they come at a cost!
A. M.
Great pub, lots of seating and the outside area has a great choice of seating too. Heard the food is good, but eaten here so review based on a place for a beer only. Good selection of ales and ciders.
C. P.
Lovely lovely food, I'd just recommend adding a few more twists to the more traditional dishes. Quality beer from Kirkstall brewery, well kept. Massive beer garden next to the river, can watch the sun set too. Perfect!
D. C.
Fantastic place. Good food great beers lovely staff too 👍👍
E. H.
Great pub. Good beer and nice food. Great location on the river with plenty outdoor seating in the sun on the bank or in the shade under the trees. Inside the upstairs is lovely old pub with wood panels and downstairs a little more trendy. Would highly recommend a visit!
D. D. D. D.
Local beers, food, board games beer garden- a water feature after heavy rain, take care on the steep steps when going down to lower level, the only downside really
A. F.
Atmosphere great. Its a pub not a bar. Staff friendly. Had the fish and chips. The fish tasty with a thin crispy batter, and real chips. Great local beer too.

Very popular place especially on a nice day. Popped in after a walk around Kirkstall Abbey (well worth a visit only a 10 minute strole away). Despite being packed, the staff were friendly and accommodating and were more than happy to let us in with our 2 dogs as long as we sat downstairs. Food was great with every vegetable you can think of on the plate. Would definitely visit again.

A fabulous gem of a pub - amazing beer selection, lovely staff, great outdoor area (and indoor of course) and - at the moment - really clear guidance around Covid-19 and keeping everyone safe. The new cosy teepee with log fires is a great place to spend time too.
M. H.
Great drinks, delicious food including homeade pizza. Board games available as well. The only downside is that when there's an event on, they don't have a TV or projector to display the sports outside! Nice beer garden though and the perfect place to enjoy a couple pints.
S. o.
A lovely warm welcome by lovely friendly staff. A comfortable atmosphere and nice surroundings. The food didn't take long to arrive and was tasty and plenty of it .Price was very reasonable and drinks were from a local brewery. Highly recommended.
D. E.
Fantastic pub. Very friendly staff, and great selection of beers, especially local ones. No stupidly loud music, so especially great for meeting and chatting with friends. Reasonably priced. Not swarmed with students, too!
S. H.
I had the best vegan roast here. Sat mongst all the meat eaters but I did feel short changed... Except I didn't get cauliflower cheese on mine !!!! Great select of craft ales, fab Riverside seating for those who wish to enjoy it. But you must book early (1 week ahead) as this is a very popular venue for a Sunday roast.... Worth every penny. I will be back when I'm in Leeds
J. M.
Has a good selection of food and an even better selection of beers. They're dog friendly and family friendly. When the sun is out their outside area is great for having a summer drink or a winter warmer.
J. R.
Fabulous location, particularly the beer garden among the trees in summer as the sun slowly sets. Food is tasty. Two levels inside pub with a bar on each. Very comfortable atmosphere.
M. J.
Love this little place. The only letdown for me is the cider select.
Food great. Staff great. And its local to me
R. W.
Superb, friendly staff in a brilliant pub. Very dog friendly! My only advice, in the current climate, book a table in advance to maximise a great time.
K. M.
Really don't know what it is about this pub but it just seems a natural place to go and I'm not really a pub person.
Good food, nice selection of ales with a generally good rotation of the beer list.
Is a dog positive location and overlooks the river Aire. Functional, relaxed beer garden and decent level of service.
G. P.
Lovely local pub fab food and great selection of beers. Fab beer garden out the back by the river, very child and dog friendly, make sure you book ahead if you want Sunday lunch though it does get busy!
S. M.
Love Kirkstall brewery beers this is a lovely pub with excellent traditional pub food and regularly updated ales. Lots of outside seating next to the river. Dogs welcome and parking available but it can get busy.
L. H.
Gorgeous beer garden - best this side of Leeds. Sit by the river and watch the world go by or enjoy dog spotting on a sunny day. Great food at reasonable prices and quick service
S. H.
Excellent choice of beers and food
S. D.
Good beer and food. Really nice beer garden at the back overlooking the river. Slightly let down by tables being booked up in advanced (something which I find very annoying in a pub...), which does put me off going in the winter as there can be loads of empty, but reserved tables.
A. H.
Great range of beer from a local brewerry. Well cooked food and good service (booking recommended for Sunday dinner). Nice riverside woodland beer garden. Family and dog friendly.
m. w. (. t.
I don't go to pubs but I made and exception and I'm delighted I did. This is the jewel in Leed's crown. Excellent fish and chips and good selection of beers. Love it
J. C.
Always enjoy my visits, the range of food and drinks never disappoints, excellent environment for group visits.
B. T.
Suggested by our Airbnb hosts and not disappointed! Lovely beer garden by the canal, great range of beers served by really friendly staff. Meal was proper English pub food and really delicious!
K.
Amazing location and great outdoor seating with reasonably priced food and drink. The pizzas look delicious!
S. O.
Lovely friendly staff and great little sun trap beer garden.
D. D.
Great beer garden, friendly helpful staff. Dog friendly and nice food
F. G.
Great place to head for afternoon drink. Had lunch as well and I didn't want to leave. Will definitely be heading back for another pint or two. Perfect place to enjoy some sun.
M. S.
Great pub. Great beers. We ate there on saturday night and it was so good we went back for sunday lunch the next day. The roast beef was fantastic and they had excellent vegetarian options which isn't always the case for sunday lunches. Highly recommended. Book in advance as it gets busy.
C. C.
Cosy, relaxed and friendly atmosphere in this lovely characterful pub. Helpful cheerful staff, delicious and ample beer selection and very good value well cooked food with some quirky twists on classics. Always a pleasure to linger here!
M. S.
Nice beer and fish and chips
L. Y.
This is my local, and in general very reliable for good, affordable beer. The food can be a little hit and miss, but if you're looking for a place with good craft and this is near you, it's great.
L. F.
Classic pub with a wide variety of both food and drink on offer, great location just off the canal so ideal if you've been for a walk to just pop in, also very near to Kirkstall Abbey, would recommend the Sunday Lunch!!!! Spacious outside seating by the river, Two floors of seating indoors, friendly staff and always an enjoyable atmosphere. Highly recommend, one of the best pubs in Leeds in my opinion.
T.
Lovely place, great Pub experience
V. M.
Great pub. Brilliant range of beers. Food is delicious. Highly recommend the chicken wings - wings Wednesday deal is good! - and the amazing pies - pie and a pint Monday is amazing!
R. K.
This is my favourite pub in Leeds. The bar staff are friendly and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The beer and ale selection is wide and varied. 100% recommend coming here.
I. C.
Best lamb Sunday dinner! Good portion of meat that just melts in the mouth and plenty of yummy sides on plate. Huge yorkie too! Bit pricey but worth it! Nice staff and don't forget their own beer! Kirkstall 3 swords never disappoints!
M. D.
Great. A good selection of real ales (other drinks are available) and an interesting menu ranging from pub grub to more ambitious, but all very nicely prepared. Especially enjoyable to eat and drink in the sunshine in the pub's large outdoor area adjoining the Leeds Liverpool canal in the heart of Kirkstall.
p. A.
Great pub, wide selection of beers and top notch homemade food, had a bit of a wait on the food but it was well worth it. Pots of gravy wouldn't hurt too; no such thing as too much gravy lol
D. W.
Nice ale house with good food. Lovely summer spot by the river. Could do with a larger gin menu though and perhaps a better draught larger, Veltins is the only non Kirkstall Brewery larger and its minging..... In my opinion! They allow dogs in the bar downstairs.
W. L.
Amazing selection of beers and spirits. Food is outstanding and there's a lovely beer garden at the back if it's a nice day. Try the bacon fries, they are incredible.
W. C.
Great salt and pepper chips and some pilsner brewed locally I believe. Nice pit stop when you're walking the canal in the sun
K. W.
A truly great pub - great range of beers from Kirkstall Brewery (who own the pub), brilliant food, big car park and canalside garden. Great staff too. I love it.
J. G.
The tipee in the grounds was a great experience, there were 3 options, 1st to sit in the gardens,2nd in the pub and thirdly in the tipee , the wood burners inside were lovely and warm, table service, social distance , just a lovely atmosphere , highly recommended
R. H.
A few good gf options here on the menu. The bacon fries are yummy. Lovely in the summer as the beer garden is spacious and well kept.
m. c.
Lovely atmosphere and real ales, great food as well. 👍
G. Y.
Great beers kept well, good food and great staff. In short this is how you run a proper pub.
A. V.
Good solid pub. Brewery tap (although the brewery is now elsewhere) serving all the excellent Kirkstall beers. The food looks great but I didn't try it.
K.
A lovely place besides the river with good selection of real ales
h. u.
Quite simply one of the best pubs I have ever visited. An excellent venue, brilliant food (the pizza especially) and a wide range of interesting beer on pretty swift rotation.
D. G.
Newly reopened following the coronavirus outbreak, it is now a socially distant space. You need to leave a nice and telephone number for Track and Trace (details kept for 21 days in keeping with government guidelines).
You can either sit outside where there is a bar, or inside where there is table service. All payments are by contactless card or phone app
M. C.
This pub is a MUST to visit. Food is TOP NOTCH. It's ran by students and it's so busy at times but so worth a visit. We love the different Ales and banter from staff. THEY ARE SO POLITE!!!!!
M. W.
As a beer " officianado " the only issue is that nearly all the IPA,s / bitters after a few beers taste the same !!
Even the guest beer on our second consecutive visit was over hopped over hyped IPA .
It's a destination pub for the "Country " dwellers that dress accordingly but live in the City.
I think a little more thought & guest beers AKA Timmy Taylors or Theakstons would benefit.
Didn't have any food but judging by the huge Pizzas it looked good.
D. W.
I like this pub but its so hard for me to waddle back up the hill with my crutch. I really think you need a ramp or a personal taxi service.
B. R.
Good pub in a good location, food was nice too.
D. C.
Great food and great beers, plenty of choice for vegans
J. W.
Nice - cool staff, great location, great beerage and chilled out events. Don't forget to return your glasses and use the bins. Don't worry about parking on a weekend - everything is in order.
L. C.
Dog friendly, fabulous beer and yummy gluten free pizza!
K. D.
Quirky, unique pub in the area. Welcoming and warm atmosphere; lots to look at in terms of decor, such as old pub memorabilia, photos, mirrors and adverts along with the actual interior design and woodwork. Pub specialises in local ales but also has a choice of artsy ciders and lagers in bottle/cans. It has two floors, the lower darker and more moody than the upper with corners to get cosy in and often with lit candles. Two bars are available and a large selection of outdoor seating next to the river. It's prices are middle-high depending on your outlook, but worth every penny. There also a yummy selection of modern style pub food - from brisket sandwiches, squash and sunblush tomato, spinach sandwiches to pies and veggie burgers, then small fancy bites like camembert, crispy duck, nachos or whitebait. Food served from midday until 9pm Mon-Sat and until 5pm on Sunday with a separate menu. It's definitely worth a visit whether you want some tasty local beers and food or a relaxing atmosphere to sit and enjoy. Dog friendly and car parking also!
C. M.
Brilliant large Kirkstall Brewery pub. Big pub garden. Lovely selection of their own cask and keg ales with a few quality guests. Nice food.
M. S.
An absolutely amazing roast, everything so flavoured. Highly recommend. Very very busy though so pre-book or prepare to wait for one of the bar tables to become free
A. W.
Great pub with friendly helpful staff good choice of real ales, nice food, beer garden next to the River Aire not far from Kirkstall Abbey. Just add some friends and go there and enjoy the experience of a really good British pub.
A. B.
Kirkstall Brewery's sensitive renovation of a classic, well-loved Leeds pub. Full selection of their beers & regular guests. Great food, famous for it's Sunday roasts :-)
S. G.
Lovely little pub with excellent Sunday dinners and endless selection of beverages to match! If you're going to for Sunday dinner look to book at least 2/3 days prior as you will be turned away on the day
J. S.
Great place for food and drink
A. P.
Nice vibe, friendly staff, very good hand cut chips!
J. M.
Food really good. Staff very helpful. There was an issue with my food which got sorted out straight away. Ate there with a few friends who also highly recommend the food - vegetarian pie and gluten free pizza
W. S.
Nice place with good atmosphere. But food quality has deteriorated. Especially the vegetarian burger, which is awfully distasteful. Selling this dish is nothing more than a disgrace.
I. H.
Had a great few pints and some delicious food today with the Mrs, booked again for Friday!
M. J.
Best real ale pub in Leeds. In fact anywhere. Great selection of beers, lovely food and always a smile and chat with the friendly staff. Thank you.
S. F.
Good pub. Good food. Good wine. Downside is its always busy so you can't always sit down and the car park is full. We're not going anymore because if this.
A. D.
Lovely place great food Dog friendly order off the Kirkstall Brewery app
H. H.
Great new menu of food including many vegan and vegetarian options. Great beer. Amazing location and beer garden when it’s warm.
B. H.
Good food, good beers and nice atmosphere. Great for all age groups. Lovely garden too next to river.
G. S.
Good beer, friendly vibe.
Crazy busy when I visited so not much in the way of seating options but that's not really the pubs fault now is it?
A. W.
Brilliant pub for those who want to enjoy beer properly in all its varieties, really brilliant, fully deserve 3 years of camra awards. Riverside beer garden is great for the rare days leeds has "beer garden weather". Food is excellent too. Only reason it doesn't get full five stars is the same issue i have with most great real ale venues: it is not cheap, i am aware that sourcing such a great range of beers is not cheap and the tax burden pubs like this overcome is unfairly high, but when 2 good pints is near enough a tenner, then an average west leeds resident like myself will be off after a couple with the wife i'm afraid
C. S.
Fab, great beer garden for sunny days. Really good selection of beers and great food, especially Sunday lunch which is best booked to ensure you get a table.
S. L.
Good pub with good food and excellent drink choice if you're into ales. The pub is located directly adjacent to Kirskstall Bridge crossing the river, hence the name. There is a mid size car park at the back for those driving and the pub is set over 2 levels with the entrance to the carpark and outdoor seating 1 level below the main entrance level. Nice out door area overlooking the river Aire.
D. T.
Lovely garden, good drinks, slightly pricey but worth it
D. W.
Great Pub, Great food. Garden ontbuck is even better with the addition of the teepee!
S. F.
Very nice old pub and well kept beer (if a little pricey) but just a lovely place to hangout in the warm weather and have a pint on the way to the supermarket 😎
S. P.
Great range of beers, not just Kirkstall Brewery's own. Extensive beer garden. Upstairs and downstairs bars. One of the best pubs in the region.
B. S.
Met for late lunch on a Thursday, so not too busy. Great choices on the menu without it costing an arm & leg! Fish & chips were excellent!
r. s.
One of my all time Leeds favourites. At the minute they have an outdoor pub to order from to help with social distancing and they have a tonne more tables too. Make sure to book before you go at the weekend!
A. M.
Great pub - Fantastic ales (local, domestic and international), good food and relaxed, dog and child friendly environment. Deserved winner of several annual best pub awards, well worth a visit!
d. a.
Great food through the week and one of my favourite Sunday dinners. Nice selection of drinks, plenty of outdoor seating and lovely old decor inside.
Parking is good but can get full at peak times.
D. P.
The Bridge is pretty much everything you could want from a traditional pub. Great range of ales, relaxed atmosphere and good food. A pretty much flawless a pub experience.
L. T.
Brilliant place to have a drink and a bite to eat also very dog friendly
A. I.
Always a pleasure! Great food, amazing choice of beer. Out doors is fab when weather is good. Dog friendly a year round.
D. P.
Good pub, nice food and drink but food can take a while to come as soon as it gets slightly busy. Doesn't stop me from returning, I just know now to order well in advance of being critically perished.
S. C.
first time we have been here. Our daughter took us for sunday lunch. The food was outstanding the service was superb and the selection of local ales was fantastic. Will definitely be goung again when we come to see our Daughter in Burley
S. R.
Good views. Great food. Even better beer. Arcade club around the corner. What's not to like. Dog friendly.
E. A.
Great little pub getting very popular now so stuggle sometimes to get parked chips where bit over done yesterday.. but it is kid friendly. Whats missing is a little wooden climing frame and swings in far corner. Staff are knollageble about that they sell but i have to say they have been lot friendler in past and they was just like chatting amonge themself
C. S.
My favourite pub in leeds. Great beer. Friendly staff. Good food. Awesome beer garden. Reasonable prices. And close to my house.
S. K.
This is a lovely place in the sun (probably pretty good in the cold as well) by the water and lots of outside space. Dog friendly too. The food looked good but as to taste and service I don't know.
K. D.
Great beers and good food. What more do you need. Lovely atmosphere as well.
E. B.
Great low-key atmosphere, delicious food, and a reasonably priced pint. The staff are friendly and the beer garden is a must on a sunny day
J. r.
Great pub. Kirkstall brewery's beers and quality food. Well worth a visit. Especially in summer as you can sit next to aire in there beer garden
J. B.
I love this pub, great beer selection from the kirkstall ales to an exciting range of guest ales. The food is great too but service can be slow when its busy
R. H.
Never had a bad experience until today
There's been a recipe change on the chicken burger - its never been spicey, doesnt say spicey on the menu, doesnt say its southern fried chicken, nothing to hint that its spicey and it never ever has been.
its always been a nice plain chicken burger
I have an intolerance to spicey food so this has always been a good choice for me, or their bbq chicken wings
well cue today and I order my usual
it comes
and low and behold its stupidly spicey
despite it not saying so on the menu
so now I'm sat waiting for ages for an alternative meal which I dont even particularly want
Now yes its my fault for not double checking, but its also false advertising to not say its southern fried chicken - especially as its never been spicey ever
M. L.
Excellent Sunday lunch.
P. T.
Lovely little pub, sympathetically restored. Good vibe, plenty of games, good beers, great food and with only an occasionally flooded garden.
J. H.
Great local pub. Brilliant atmosphere, amazing beer selection and delicious food. Good sized off road car park.
A. G.
Friendly service. Great selection of local beers and even better food! Top tunes and a beer garden to boot! Love this place!
J. M.
Excellent service and really good beer, and very reasonable prices, will book again
D. S.
Went for a roast, and it was nice. Felt more like a roast your mum would make than a typical pub roast. Pigs in blankets were a nice touch.
S. A.
Nice pub with nice pub food. I had a beetroot burger and my friends loved the fish and chips. Good choice of on tap beers.
S. S.
Awesome pub and local!
Great food, welcoming staff and the best beer in Leeds.(virtuous)
M. H.
Great pub with a fine selection of beers and good food. Nice alfresco area though it's best not to sit by the river when it's in flood.
C. L.
Nice pub. If you want to eat you need to book which we wasn't aware of. Got a good beer garden by the water.
R. L.
Lovely bartenders, great front of house standards, and great varieties of beers. Did once pay a tenner here for a beer, but it was a coconut porter and it changed my life.
R. D.
Great service and really good food. Quiet upstairs.
D. M.
Great food, great drinks, great location, not too pricey. No wonder it's become busy of late! Worth making a reservation for dinner and sunday lunch
L. M.
Thanks to everyone at The Bridge for feeding us with some good food and as always a good choice of hand pulled beers, pale ales, largers and spirits and they have a very lovely large beer garden for everyone to enjoy. Cheers from everyone on the Kirkstall Festival Committee
H. D.
An excellent meal in the puppy friendly downstairs area of the pub - the bombarded hand cuts, mussels and burger were all great and my only niggle would be that the beers on cask didn't feature a Yorkshire Bitter, which is more a grumpy old git that insists on referring to real ale rather than craft beer railing against the fashion for IPA than a major objection - The brewery's own pale ale was very tasty :)
K. R.
The food portions are good and value for money. Good range of ales and a friendly atmosphere. Will go there again.
A. H.
Lovely real ale pub serving good home cooked food . Great atmosphere and friendly staff! ,definitely worth a visit 😀
T. G.
This establishment has a great range of beer and soft drinks as well as hot drinks. I hey do sell meals and snacks. They have a beer garden which is on the side of the river aire
B. A.
Warm atmosphere, lovely staff with great service and knowledge, food is fantastic makes Christmas feel festive and lovely with the music and toasty fire. If you are thinking of coming just do yourself a favour and head down you shan't regret it.
E. A.
Friendly, knowledgeable, experienced staff
A chef with a firm grip on his art (coming from a ex head chef-good god try the pies!)
Great beer, no drama and comfortable surroundings-get yourself to the bridge immediately
N. P.
Enjoyed Kirkstall pale ale with a burger.
I wished I hadn't bought the car.
A. H.
Great selection of beers and wines plus cider Staff really good and friendly service is great and staff are really helpful. Would recommend this very interesting place to anyone
R. H.
Excellent ale selection. Be careful what you drink a lot of the beers are STRONG. Stick to kirkstall brewery ales if you don't want to empty your wallet.
M. S.
Great fish and chips
T. W.
Good atmosphere and good beer's,definitely be back👍
T. H.
Well I don't really go to real ale pubs for the food and ambience?, however if you fancy a sit at the side of the river or just chill in what is now getting harder to find (Thanks to Wetherspoons) a real pub then look no further.A real gem, good food friendly staff and great ales including regular dark ales such as Black Band Porter.Ample parking at the rear.
Tim Holmes
A. S.
Great Sunday lunch and staff were nice and very helpfull.
E. A.
Busy, fun crowd, some lovely food (can't resist a schnitzel!). The beer is from their own brewery and there's some I interesting stuff there.

ALWAYS just what you need at the right time. Pizza and a drink. Get out of the rain and sit in a lovely, chatty pub with your loved ones!!
D. B.
Having visited Kirkstall Bridge Inn on numerous occasions, we've never been disappointed, great Sunday dinner and a vast amount of cask ale, the downstairs bar is dog friendly, but I would recommend booking a table as it gets very busy, service is very quick and the staff are very friendly and polite, car park to the rear of the pub.
a. w.
This award winning pub does so for a reason. Excellent choice of ale. Brilliant real pub food. And it's a pub!!!
C. B.
