Reviews of Lawnswood Arms

Really improved since reopening. Food is much better and staff do a good job.
Only complaint is the two for £10.99 dishes seem to be reduced portions to full price dishes so defeating the object if you like a full plate.

We had a small party of 24 (was initially expecting a party of 34) and made a reservation.
The food was okay, it every much depended what was chosen on the menu. Some of the sandwiches were great and very plentiful in portion, such as the chicken sandwich for £10.99(?) was probably enough for three people and other items were absolutely fine. Sunday dinners, some were served cold, without the accompanying sauces and others just weren't particularly nice.
The staff were helpful to accommodate the group and reserved 5 tables close together for us.
One of the downsides of the booking was how difficult it was to get hold of the pub.
Initially they were only allowing a two hour slot, but we had people travelling from a far so that wasn't ideal. As such I said I'd call back to confirm.
From the initial conversation to a few days before, so around 3 weeks, I tried to get in touch 26 times to discuss the booking. Voicemails were left but calls never returned. When I did get hold of someone I was told I would receive a confirmation email, but never did. So tried to get in touch before the day to make sure everything was booked in.
Staff were friendly and we had a great party

Just moved back to the area after a couple of years of being away and thought I'd try out my old local.
The Lawnswood has changed a hell of a lot since the last time I was here. The place seems more up to date, more organised and more family friendly.
Food was lovely, we went for the good old Fish and chips, piping hot and great portion sizes, LOVE the wide range of Gins that you now have in and my partner enjoyed one of your many cask ales.
A lot of new faces behind the bar and a lot of new managers. The service was spot on, staff really friendly and really helpful. We tried and struggled with your new app but a member of management pointed us in the right direction.
The atmosphere was great, you could see that the place was still nice and busy, my partner loves what you have done with the bar area and will be joining you for future sport.
I am happy to say that we left satisfied with our first visit back and that we will be returning as regulars. Keep doing what you are doing and we will see you soon for Curry night

A good Greene king for the food, better than others in Leeds. I'd give the veggie roast a miss but the Nachos are always a winner. Loads of seating indoors and outdoors

A very traditional pub serving snacks - hot foods and beers. We called in for our treat of the week on Sunday morning. Ordered a large - small breakfast with tea.
The breakfast was great value for money and served piping hot. The only pitfall was the sausages were over cooked. The tea was supplied in a tea pot a pleasant surprise these days. I will be returning to this venue to sample the evening meals and of course the beers at some point,

Ate an early lunch here. Asked for my burger without a bun and no onion rings. Lee immediately asked if I would like to see the Gluten Free menu as he could offer a burger with a GF bun and salad. This is the first time someone has picked up on my request to not have some items as a possible allergy. Thank you. Oh, and the food was piping hot when it arrived.
