This was our second visit, and for good reason. Although it promotes live sport it is not in your face or distracting when dining, at least on a Sunday. The staff are friendly and helpful. The bar carries 5 or 6 real ales on top of the usual suspects. There is no longer a carvery but it has a menu with a wide enough selection to keep most happy. Prices are reasonable and portions big. The quality was great.

Perfect !!! Nothing much else to say, but again it's perfect!! Beef and pulled pork burger. Staff as usual are brilliant , I can never complain, I'm always happy and full when I go home lol

Really nice food! I had a new dish made with mussels and was really nice! My husband had a sirloin and the steak was really good! The only observation is that you cant be in a hurry because the food takes long to be prepared!

Staff were all really lovely! The food really impressed us too, everything we ordered, from the roast Dinner to the Korean chicken was delicious and even though they were busy, we didn't wait long at all. They were really kind to my Granny who fell and adapted a dish for my sister without any attitude or bother. Generally great all round and we will be back!

Good standard of pub grub. A tad noisy but not an issue ... maybe not the choice for a romantic evening out bit great for a party. 12 of us and we were served in good time and only one substitution in our pre chosen meals. Friendly staff what dealt well with 6 different payment methods 😀!

Lord darcy used to be a great pub many years ago. We had some issues with food even when it’s not peak time, not to mention we have waited over 1 hour for our food. Do not order on the app because seems like they don’t check the orders and be ready to wait several minutes.

I know a very close friend who props up The Lord Darcy Bar A daily ritual with the locals. He will be loving it even more now he's enjoying his early retirement. I used to come visit when it was The Jester when I lived In Alwoodley in the 90s. Can't wait to visit again. Meet old friends & maybe some new ones along the way. ❤️👍

We visited here on 26th February 2022. We booked a table for 6:30 and when we arrived were told that there would be a 40 min wait for food as a large party had just ordered. About 10 mins later we we're told wait time had reduced. However, having arrived on time, we didn't get our food until past 7:30. Now I didn't mind that so much but my battered fish was well overdone and I dmwas disappointed having anticipated a nice meal. My husbands salmon was, he tells me, delicious 😋 Maybe I should have that next time! 🙂 Full marks for pleasant staff, also for checking for allergies, but the wait and overcooked meal let this place down. Why didn't you say something about the meal you ask...because I didn't want to wait another hour for a replacement and my husband's food was OK for him. Sadly, will think twice before we eat here again.

Went with a friend for afternoon tea the table was set up decoratively with a spring theme even a vase a flowers. An array of sandwiches in softest seeded bread as my friend has an allergy to white, a variety of cakes, scone, jam and clotted cream washed down with hot beverages. Will definitely be back well worth the money. 😋

Went for lunch today with my family and friends again and what can I say it never fails to disappoint. You are spoilt for choice if you are a gin fan like myself and it’s a nice touch having the gin of the week the recent one they had the Bakewell gin with appetiser soo nice and you can always count on the staff to give a good recommendation. They also have an array of ales on draught for the beer lovers. The food was as fantastic as always and is reasonably priced. The only problem I had to was that I was so full I couldn’t fit in one of the delicious desserts. I couldn’t recommend trying the Darcy enough the Amanda and the team are warm, friendly and polite and time permitting will make time for a little chit chat should that be with yourself, your children or just come to give your pooch a treat as it’s also dog friendly as well . We will most definitely be back soon.

We arrived at 12 noon and car parking was easy. The place was nice and there were many televisions - don’t worry they would not cover your conversations :-) We chose two fish and chips. Waited for 25 minutes but the staff had told us already that we have to wait for 30 minutes. The fish and chips were not bad. The fish were okay, the batter were a little bit too hard. The rest of the fish and chips were good (see photos). The staff was very nice, come to ask us how were the food in the middle of the meal.

Very busy place and it took along time to be served.Only one of the bar staff had any get up and go. The other staff were very busy and our waitress didn't even stand long enough at our table to hear if our food was ok before she was walking away. Been here before alot of times and never had such poor staff interaction. The food we got was nice,hot and reasonably priced but the staff spoilt the overall visit..........Went back yesterday 10th December 2018 after the places renovation and face lift.Its been transformed into a much more customer friendly environment and the staff are so much better at customer service, had a really enjoyable time.

Lovely pub. Very clean and nice inside as expected in this part of Leeds. Friendly staff and very helpful. Took my family here for food on a Saturday afternoon. Pub was really chilled out and relaxed vibe. Service was good and food was nice. No problems at all. We had been on a trip to Harewood House and fancied a local pub meal. That’s exactly what we got. Highly recommend if your in that area.

Steak well done meduim and rare at the same time it. Poor performance from the chef. Chips served in soap dish and lacking in size and flavour. I actually saw my friend have to season them himself and sprained his wrist doing the chefs job. Drinks poured into a glass as expected.

Excellent service.. More than excellent food. Our first night out after lockdown did not disappoint. However, if i have one criticism. It is that we were very very cold. I think during the lockdown conditions some kind of heating . I.E patio heaters should be provided. I know it sounds picky but it detracted from the experience.

Staff very helpful and friendly. I was surprised by the size of the menu which had no salad option at all. As it's the middle of summer and the temperature was 25 degrees I found the choice quite limiting. The chicken I ordered was good but I would have preferred not to have to order a hot meal

Good community pub with a decent selection of quality ales and lagers. It's a little cavernous inside so it's not perhaps the place for a quiet, cosy drink. However, it is contemporary yet tasteful inside, well lit and really light and clean. The food was of a high standard, especially the steak fajitas and the staff were welcoming, friendly and professional.

Brought my mother in law for 1st time, she is 90 years old. Where we were sat there were foul language loud men who could only shout to communicate with each other. We could barely hear each other speak My mum in law is old school and found this offensive so we were glad to finish our meal and leave...sorry but we wont be back !

It's clean and pleasant. A nice selection on gins behind the main bar which are very well presented. If you want to pop out for a quiet drink with some friends it's ideal. They have an extra room downstairs for functions. Plenty of parking for designated drivers.

Called in on a Sunday after the Emmerdale village tour on the off-chance and luckily managed to get a table even though it was busy, husband and I opted for the carvery lunch and it was very good. Well priced, a generous portion of meat, good Yorkshire pudding and fresh vegetables. Daughter had the fish and chips which was also recommended. Service good and friendly, pleasant surroundings and definitely worth a visit.

Decided to stop for dinner after visiting Harewood House. We had their fajitas which was well presented and tasted great. The staff were helpful and attentive and service was quick. They also have a good range of hand pulled beers and a wide selection of Gins. Good all-rounder pub for all.

The Darcy is quite a way from where we live but perfect for our family gathering. I like the Greene King pubs and our local is the Devon at Whitkirk which we use once a week. Popped in for the carvery and to check out the refurbishment. They have done a great job and the place was buzzing. Only reason not 5 stars as the Yorkshire puddings were tasteless and hard and the mash was chewy as been under heat lamp too long. Otherwise the meat and veg really tasty.

Really worth visiting. In some parts it looks like a mini coliseum. It is a small version of the Roman historical buildings you see in Rome but all concentrated in a relatively small location. Whilst the majority of the buildings have been preserved well here are pockets that need careful restoration attention
