Delicious pizza. A tip: The staff behind the bar could be more friendly and helpful.
H. B.Not been here in a while went for mothers day but couldn't get in till 5pm. So when ordering food they had sold out of alot of stuff which was annoying. You think they would of ordered extra for such a big day. The food was medioka, will av to go again when not been so busy to compare the difference. It is a really nice pub quite big, as has seating inside and outside back and front. It has 2 pool tables.and about 5 TV s to watch sport. Had a good atmosphere. Reasonable priced food and drinks. Pub was clean and tidy, staff were friendly and polite.

J. T.I had the Notorious P.I.G burger, honestly the best thing I'd tasted in a long while. Be careful when ordering through the QR code, I ended up with side salad instead of chips.
M. B.We don't come here often but it's been pleasant over the last year when we have. It's got nice open spaces Inside and is clean and tidy. We've enjoyed quiet afternoons, but haven't been on an evening for a long time. There's a pool table and they show BT Sports (which might get get there for an evening actually!). The service at the bar was pretty disappointing on our last visit, but nicely overshadowed by the food service. The menu is small, and not great for me being coeliac, there wasn't anything I could adapt and didn't fancy getting into detailed discussion about options with the bar staff. So I opted not to eat, but my other half chose a pizza and was really impressed- love that they have a pizza oven on site!
D. J. W.REOPENED 24/01/19 after renovation .
I have only visited the outside so far , and that only from the exterior at night!
Part of the renovation appears to be two new smoking ? sheds at the front of the building . There’s a large outdoor patio with chairs and tables which now is well lit at night . The car park to the rear is also well lit and patrons are advised to record their vehicle reg at the bar . There is a smoking shed by the rear door . This door is also the disabled entrance , and is flat and level into the building . There is also a handrail.
Disabled parking I found a little disappointing as there were three marked bays next to rear door but they were not sized out properly and a side loading wheelchair would have great difficulty due to the spacing between spaces not being adequate . My vehicle is rear loading and is quite large , but the space looked small. It’s also a sloping car park and I shall return to assess the building and check out the interior .

W.Fantastic pub to watch the football and grab a pint.The pizza's here are amazing made by hand in real ovens there a must to try!!!!!!Watch out for the parking as you must put your number plate in a machine at bar or you will get a fine.Lots of outdoor seating areas make this a very chilled out place.....well worth a visit!!!!!!

J. J.Myself and 3 friends called in for a chat and a drink. We were very disappointed. We were treated with an uncaring attitude. Wrong drinks were brought to our table and staff just shrugged their shoulders when this was pointed out to them. No refund was offered even tho the drinks were more expensive that what we asked for. Will not be visiting again any time soon.

E.This pub looks great and I couldn’t fault the food we were served on the two occasions we visited. Unfortunately the great food was always accompanied by a long wait and the service was poor. Staff seemed put out by us, and treated our every request as if we were asking to going off-menu. I hope that the venue can soon find the system and staff it needs to support an otherwise strong menu, making it the place to go for a good night out in Horsforth.

C. H.Very good social space - warm, welcoming, plently of room. Looks very tidy and fresh after the refurbishment. Perhaps not the best pub for real ales (normally Doombar, Leeds Pale and Greene King IPA, often run out of them), although there is an adequate choice of tap beers and ciders, again a significant improvement since the refurbishment. Large menu destined to suit many tastes, although pizzas are a little rich in flavour. Staff are excellent, always quick to serve yet still very friendly. Decent prices for the area.

A. A.The pub is really nice and with a lovely atmosphere. It also has a beer garden and plenty of complimentary parking (of you don't forget to register your car inside the pub). But today there was a 40+ minute waiting for food despite the fact it wasn't crowded and the staff was not precisely polite. It's a shame for a lovely place

The staff we friendly, polite and helpful; and although it was quiet kept themselves busy keeping the bar spotlessly clean - always a good sign!
The food options are... a little limited (salad, pasta, burgers or their signature stone-baked 12" pizza) but if the quality of my Sloppy Joe burger is anything to go by then worth popping in again to try the pizza next time.

T. W.Called into this place while passing through Horsforth with the partner and stayed for a drink, I knew this place had been redone inside and on the outside, which was appealing and would give it a try.
The inside is good and spacious and nice colours, and bar area. Nice selection of beers, and the foid menu, not bad, with some good choices, didn't opt for any food this time,
Plenty of staff around the bar, some looked rather bored, but it wasn't that busy , it's not the cheapest place, by a mile, but where is in horsforth ??
I still think you'd get alot better value at a Wetherspoons, but I don't think I'd argue at coming back to the old ball at some point for one refreshment .

W. C.Pizza was very bland for a meat feast. Prefer a pizza with a choice of half or quarters with different flavours. 4 corners of fire was brilliant. But a more selective choice now. In my opinion not as good but each to there own.

P. F.Big barn of a pub with a limited outside area on the roundabout. A small choice of beers. They do pizzas which aren't that great. They shown sports on the TV, so good if you're out for that. Popular with students from the uni up the road. Close to the train station, so maybe worth a punt if your train is delayed?!
L. A.As a Canadian friend said: this should be in the top 50 of the world best food place. He wants to come back over an over , ordering more sharing plate which is the best value for money meal he ever saw, until we slowly faint.

M. P.Went to Horsforth on Sunday with mrs and to take step son back to University. After unpacking all the gear, we were all feeling a bit peckish, so we decided to give The Old Ball a visit, as is was local to Trinity University. Firstly, had to enter car reg into computer at Bar not to get a parking ticket "different to back in Sunny Hartlepool, but no cost, so problem. I ordered smothered chicken and thrice cooked chips, mrs got a fish finger wrap and same chips and Liam got a Burger with chips. Had to wait a while, but we could see from other orders being served, that this was "home cooked". All our 3 meals meals were very good and the chips a treat. Good pub, with plenty of room at each table for access, with numerous TVs. Pleasant visit to a good pub and will certainly give this place another visit, when next in Horsforth.
