Good spoons. The food was nice and to be honest the pints of Corona I had were the cleanest I've ever tasted. I ordered the ultimate burger and it seemed to be nicer than other spoons meals I've had in the past. Overall 5 stars !

Spoons #31 on my Spoons quest…. Popped in for breakfast after doing Temple Newsam Parkrun. Good efficient service, did have to wipe the table, busy Saturday morning. Nice breakfast, hot food, nice coffee. Limited free parking nearly on the front. Ample outdoor seating

A very busy but calming Friday afternoon in the Briggate. Our first time here, and we weren't left disappointed. As always, JDW's offer a decent meal with a pint for a reasonable price. The staff were fast, friendly and very helpful. Food was piping hot on arrival, a nice tasty burger and a lovely Guinness to wash it down. Only fault, and it's quite a petty one, the Guinness was hit and miss, you got one good one and one badly pulled one, a couple had 'head overflow' down the side of the glass. Apart from that, a very enjoyable experience and we won't hesitate a return.

Large interior plenty of tables and booths, seating area outside front and side. Always a varied selection of guest ales at unbeatable prices, although they must get extra small barrels as I often find they're off or end of barrel. Food is decent for the money and service is always prompt.

Tuesday is stake night.Grilled to perfection with a fluffy jacket potato, proper butter. Mushroom, and peas with Peper corn sauce definitely hit the spot and super on the pocket. The briggate is full of character, plenty tables, booths, and a lovely log fire; the place is chilled with pleasant staff. If you're looking for value, it's a great Witherspoons .😉

There had been an electrical fault on that side of the street so their internet was down so ordering ap not in use, ordered at table. We had 3 rounds where there was mistakes with drinks! I've only ever been here for breakfasts, so this may be an entirely different review to someone coming in on a Friday night! Deceptively large spoons with a free car park around back. Lots of seating on tables, booths, tall tables and more. Breakfast is the usual top spoons quality, and service is super fast. Staff are always pleasant and friendly. It's our go-to pub for a good breakfast. 👌

Visited with some friends on a Friday night. The pub was busy but there wasn't much of a wait for drinks. We used their app to order which was very convenient, even though it kept crashing. All the members of staff were friendly and happy to help us even when we spilled a drink. I would definitely visit this place again, they have lovely deserts and pigs in blankets.

The prices are good and it is a very large place so always plenty of room for seating. Although the bar regularly seems busy there are usually limited people working behind the bar, this normally means long waits to get served. All in all a good bar and the staff situation could easily be sorted out to make it a great bar

Been here several times. The meals been fine each time. Only thing this time we were there a couple of hours and so many tables were reserved but still no one was sat in them when we left!

Great 'Spoons. Much bigger on the inside than it looks! Friendly staff, good service, nice & clean and with well-maintained toilets to boot! It's lovely and cool inside during summer bit warm inside during winter as well. The main toilets are upstairs, but there's an accessible toilet on the ground floor for those who need it. Food is good too, and very good value for money!!!

I went there twice in the same day. In the late morning it was lovely, not too busy and, as I was meeting a friend, the perfect place to sit and wait. I came back again that afternoon around 4.00, it was bursting with people, very busy and jolly. Had I been a much younger person, I would've enjoyed it immensely. Still, it didn't take long to be served and we found seats.

This place is frankly one of the best pubs and on the whole at least one of the best restaurants I've been to. A wide variety of ales, large portions, hygenic areas, a wide range of food to choose from including vegetarian and dairy free menus. There seems to be no downside. And the staff seem to want to be there. If you ever have plans around the area then I would seriously consider eating there. I just wish there were more places like it!

The best breakfast at a Wetherspoons, and we have been to quite a lot. The service was outstanding. I always have the small (childrens) breakfast, and its the first time I have been asked if I wanted a warm or cold plate. Also the breakfast was very well presented. But we sat and watched a man in a wheelchair who was served his food very quickly but was sat at a high table, not one member of staff asked if he would like to be moved to a low table to eat his dinner not even the manager. Relatively new when we visited and deceptively spacious inside, this Whetherspoons is definitely one of the better ones. A number of guest ales were available along with the usual good range of food at very reasonable prices. The service was decent and food arrived quickly. There is a well kept and pleasant looking outdoor area with a good amount of seating.

We sat at a table and ordered our food on the app. We waited 2 minutes and the drinks arrived and that's where the good experience stopped. 25 minutes later we got breakfast but part order missing. Pancakes slightly overcooked bacon under cooked. Went to find the manager and staff were in the kitchen crying. Will poss give it another go but not in no rush
