Really cute cocktails bar and lovely staff. However on my last visit hot wax from the candles above me started falling down my back on to my coat and clothes this shocked me, making me jump up and spill my drink. The bar seemed very low on staff so when I asked for assistance it took a while which was understandable, we ended up leaving the bar soon after this.

The East Village is one of the best cocktail bars I have had the pleasure of visiting. Not only do they have an extensive range of drinks options, for anyone's taste, the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. I've visited several times and end up chatting to the bartender about the drinks I like. It's wonderful. Really fun pub quiz too!

The hidden gem of Hyde Park! A great cocktail bar for students. The drinks themselves are amazing but the service level from the team here is on another level. There's about 20 tables inside and 20 tables outside (all covered btw in case it's raining). Drinks were great value too. There's a thing called shot roulette which was really fun. Can't recommend this place enough

One of my favourite Leeds bars. A great local bar serving amazing drinks at very fair prices. The staff are super knowledgeable and will recommend drinks if you're not sure what you want, or make you drinks off menu to suit your tastes. Cocktails are £5-7 and beer is reasonable too (it's served in a schooner which is 3/4 of a pint so that it stays cool whilst you drink it). The music is great and I've never not had a good night here. Amazing atmosphere, highly recommended.

Sub-urban Leeds drinking just stepped up! Fantastic cocktail bar in the heart of studentville, Hyde Park, Leeds. Friendly and extremely knowledgeable staff. My Girlfriend and myself both work in the drinks industry so we like to pretend that we know what we are talking about! For me this is the best cocktail bar in Leeds, a nice step outside the city, serious drinkers will enjoy the fantastic drinks menu. Whilst other can just enjoy a casual beer. Nowadays drinkers seem to be much more savvy with what they are drinking, and East Village has the feel that it has been moulded around this philosophy. Cant wait to go back! Big thanks to Olly and his team!

I'm a big bar fan of independent bars and one of the best things about living in Leeds is the independent bar scene. Hyde Park is blessed with a few hidden gems but my favourite is The East Village. Really friendly staff that always smile and have a laugh with you no matter how busy it is and they make killer drinks with the menu designed by the owner, I think his name is Oliver. It's open and cozy at the same time with a big New York style bar with seats and other small booth with old school games dotted about. I know I'm laying it on thick but it really is such a good shout for any occasion; first date or with a group of mates. Top bar!

Ideal for first or Tinder dates. The cocktails are both varied and exceptional. What’s more exceptional than the drinks menu however is the fried chicken available downstairs. Having had the chicken twice, both times on ‘wing wednesday’, I can safely say that there is not a single eatery in a close vicinity that can offer you better fried food.

It feels like a city bar that has been lost in a quiet part of Burley. It has a really chilled atmosphere, and the decor is on trend and cozy. I'd recommend it as a good date location or for a chilled evening with a small group of friends.

Came here on a recent trip to Leeds whilst visiting friends from Australia. Met the owner, Oli. Really great guy with loads of knowledge and really knows his stuff. He has ALOT of great stories. East Village has a delightful atmosphere created entirely by the pleasant staff who put all their effort to your experience. A comprehensive menu of classic contrails made by some of the best bartenders leeds has to offer and more. Added bonus is the hotdogs that they sell, steamed bun, ketchup, mustard. Tasty. You can't go wrong!
