Reviews of The General Elliot
J. B.
Brilliant little old fashioned pub just outside Leeds Market. Great characters and good beer. Had a few beers and was made to feel welcomed by both staff and regulars!

The general Elliott leeds is a Sam Smiths pub with 2 bars 1 down stairs and 1 upstairs I went downstairs but I've been in the upstairs bar before. Downstairs is small and can get quite compact when busy it wasn't too busy when I went in. Theve got a wide selection of drinks on offer bit expensive for Sam Smiths but still a good drink no music or mobile phones allowed. I go in regular and it's decent. I prefer the upstairs bar more room and seating 💺

Basic pub not that that's a negative Great drinks, love the Doubje Four.

Another typical Sam Smith's pub, 2.30 a pint of stout. No WiFi. The atmosphere is nicer in the Angel Inn.

I went last weekend to this little pub I was very pleased with the service that we received that drinks was lovely and the bar staff was nice and cheeky 😄. I would definitely go back for a drink and hopefully it's not too long away

I have been going for nearly 20 years and feel at home there. First visits may not feel the friendliness but it grows. Staff and people are great.

Place was quite for a Saturday. Maybe down to the no phone and music rules.

I agree with this policy

Nice pub but pricey
M. F.
May not be everyone's cup of tea but it's Sam Smiths and sells well priced, decent beer.

Never had as much fun in a pub. £4.44 for two pints, funny, friendly locals. Great craic. No phone policy, like going back in time but in a good way. Will def visit when back in Leeds

Nice little pub real ale. And nice staff
J. R.
Cozy place. Pub for regulars but all are welcome. Bar staff are great, occasionally verbal but in the right way. Been there may a timer over the years with the beer always on the spot.

Although I visit the Angel frequently, I put off visiting this Sam Smiths pub for years due to its reputation. It's an old fashioned city tavern, a small bar and tiled taproom on the ground floor with wooden furniture. There is not much seating so be prepared to stand and lean. An atmosphere from a long-gone era of pubgoing. Trade is brisk and the clientele are a mixture of grizzled old Leeds folk and youngsters, both taking advantage of Sam Smith's excellent value drinks. The tapster Jackie is friendly and experienced, bringing calm to a sometimes boisterous venue. There are probably times where the place becomes a bit too edgy and full of louts, but it was down-to-earth, friendly and non-judgemental when I visited. They don't make them like this anymore, which is a damn shame because Leeds would be a hell of a lot more interesting for a night out if they did.

Great old style pub across from the Briggate Market in Leeds all local Ales Stouts and Lagers and you will find it hard to beat the prices well worth a call inbetween your shopping
