Reviews of The Inn At Scarcroft
A. K. A.
Good cosy ambience. Excellent customer service. Good tasty roast dinners. It would have been better if served hot...
R. R.
Booked in here last minute today. 4 adults and 2 kids. The service started off so well. The waiter even listened to the kids jokes and came back with a good one himself. Had our starter and main. Then the service just seemed to take a nose dive. I appreciate they were busy and we waited patiently for the table to be cleared and order desserts. No one came. We had to ask for some desserts eventually and at the same time the birthday cake we had handed over. Got the desserts but no cake. We ended up asking for the bill and the cake. Got the cake and surprisingly the bill was handed to us straight away! The lady who brought it apologised and said us who were ordering at the table with the staff should be getting priority but those orders through the app were getting served before us which, even she said was totally wrong. They lost 2 stars for the drop in service. Can't fault the food though
S. M.
The meals were lovely, staff friendly and attentive and the surroundings were pleasant. The meal which was a Sunday lunch was served hot and in a timely fashion. This was my second visit in a few weeks. I previously visited on a Saturday and service was extremely slow on that date
S. B.
2 of us ate. Excellent food.
I was asked for feedback by staff and manager, I gave constructive criticism for one area that could be improved and this was gratefully recieved.
I also pointed out that my steak had been slightly overcooked but nonetheless acceptable and the manager was very keen to make sure we left happy.
Great service
G. V.
King prawn and scallops starter - fantastic
Steak - fantastic
Trio of lamb rump and shepherd's pie - fantastic
Chicken pie - fantastic
Best meal we've had from this pub so far.
Service fantastic.
Atmosphere is lacking though as it is generally pretty quiet during the week.
Thanks for a very nice meal.

PLEASE SEE UPDATE
A very depleted menu on offer, no steak, no this, no that no the other. Very disappointing. I understand that there are delivery problems but to be honest this was ridiculous! Also the place was closing early and we were made well aware of this a good 30 minutes prior to this. A rather strange and uncomfortable dinner sorry to say which is a first, as my dining experiences here are normally first class. Perhaps it was just an "off" night.
UPDATE:
Apologies to Inn at Scarcroft
Although there were problems that evening, when I spoke to the rest of the party I was with, it appears that I must have been having an off night too. They felt that my review was far too harsh and that I should retract the 3stars and up it to 4. I should also make apologies for being a "miserable old B - gg-r" and remember that on every other occasion that I have eaten here (which is many) the service, food and ambiance has been 5 🌟 star. Thank you Colin for bringing this to my attention.
J. H.
Food good quality and perfect . Great new cocktail menu .the only thing I don’t like is the menu has not enough choice . But to be fair I eat there at least once a week
l. s.
We have been coming to the new Inn for over 10yrs and never had a bad experience until yesterday. We ware sat at our table and our drinks and food were brought very quickly however following the meal we were left for over 40 minutes and no one came over at all to clear the plates . . We had to get up and ask the staff to clear the plates and get the bill as we had just been left sat there
s. i.
Wonderful place to be for a drink, foods or both, excellent customer service ... Great menu to choose varieties of good foods ... Clean, safe and up to date ... A must to visit ...👍👌
A.
Lovely pub, inside & out.
Great value food, pleasant quick service.
Very dog friendly.
J. R.
Gorgeous food and a beautiful place to sit and enjoy a meal with family and friends. The staff were very welcoming and attentive, and the food came quickly. I would definitely go again.
G. S.
Good quality food. Covid19 aware. Friendly service.
Half priced main courses tonight and one free starter or sweet next time with Vintage Inns loyalty card.
See photos for a sample day's menu and another for Christmas Day.
Only thing on the down side, car park at the rear in daylight. On leaving the car park was unlit and very dark. There are flood lights on tall stansions, but these were not working at all. An accident waiting to happen!. Sorry!
A. S.
We were served by Matt who was very attentive. The food was beautiful and we will definitely be coming back.
R. L.
My favourite pub so far. Incredible range of ales and beers, beautifully decorated, amazing meals (the burger is just gorgeous) and really friendly staff. Best place in Scarcroft.
N. H.
Great service from all the staff at the Inn - friendly, kind and attentive.
The food was totally hit and miss. The vegetable soup starter was divine… but…
The chicken schnitzel was very sad looking topped with mangled bacon on a paucity of chips with some nominal side salad. It was not tasty. Desserts were OK but no better than anywhere else.
Ending on a positive note, the mulled cider was a really good tipple for warming the cockles and making you feel festive.
As the main course was a flop, I am pained to only give this venue 3 stars.
N. L.
I loved our time at this pub. The meal was very tasty, and the waiting staff were very attentive and on point. Would definitely recommend.

Always nervous of chain venues but unknowingly I've now been to 3, The Inn at Scarcroft being the latest. Having had a very swift response via FB for prices we had a family Sunday lunch. Most excellent, precautions for Covid well in place, staff well trained and knowledgeable about what to do, promoting the track and trace app as well. Service standards also very good, friendly team with much thought for us a family with a couple of very young ones. Lunch was most acceptable, we ordered a range of dishes including a children's Sunday lunch which The Boy ate with great gusto. The roast Sirloin of Beef was as good as I have eaten any where and is right up there at the top of the list. A steady flow of customers throughout our time there suggests a popular venue, on my list now, highly recommend.....
I. W.
Just had a wonderful time here the food was excellent and the service was a little slow but we were in no rush . Kept up to the standards of all vintage inns.
One small note was that I think the portions are a little on the small side to give value for money but on saying that all of our party would return.
M. D. S.
The Inn @ Scarcroft is a delightful place to eat, dine out or socialise. Having been here several years ago, when it was under a different name, it was a bad experience.
Finding out that it was under new management, I had to try it. The main course was delicious. Plenty served up for the price and the quality spot on. The Stocky Toffee Pudding for desert was especially delightful, though I would try it with cream, not custard next time.
The other 3 meals served to my family were given a big thumbs up, as they had the Children's portions, even though they too, were of a good size.
All in all, I would recommend The Inn at Scarcroft for anyone, even though I don't always recommend places as a habit, or by request.
Compliments to the Chef(s) and to the staff for their courtesy and politeness throughout our afternoon meal.
S. D.
Ordered steak 10 mins before they finished food & it was amazing. Apologised for leaving it so late & both the barmaid & waiter couldn't of been nicer & insisted we could order anything despite the time & made the 2 of us feel so welcome & relaxed. Would of stayed longer but the food was so nice & on the large side so could hardly move but will definitely go back soon.
Y. P.
Old and very basic food..same menu has been going on forever
D. S.
Called in for a beer, beautiful pub, lovely surroundings and atmosphere plus a nice pint
D. M.
Beautiful pub warm welcoming food was amazing price really good
J. W.
Beautiful place to eat ,reasonably priced, just been renovated and the new look, new chef and new staff are great!!!!
V. A.
What a lovely place. Warm and welcoming with really friendly and helpful staff. Lovely tasty food
B. W.
Four of us and two large dogs arrived for drinks with the option to eat later. The dogs were made very welcome, as were we. We were sat in the bar, which was very comfortable and after a couple of drinks we ordered dinner. The meatfeast stonebaked pizza was very good, the lasagne with flat bread and triple cooked chips was delicious, the lobster fish cakes were lovely and the aromatic duck salad was nice but could have done with more duck. Thank you. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening.
Z. J.
Brilliant pub with lovely interior, been coming here years, hadn't been for a while till last night where a lovely young lady with glasses served us and was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed and that food/drinks were good. Kudos to her, will be back!!!
A. W.
Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff good menu and nice food
A. T.
Always a firm go-to favourite for nice food and ambience. Often wish the portions could be a little bigger and occasionally wish the music was a little quieter (than it already is) but they're both just personal minor tweaks if I could. Very pleasant visit yesterday.
J. H.
Food was excellent, drinks were great and the staff were fab and professional!
V. H.
If you're looking for a romantic setting, this is a lovely restaurant with real open log burning fires. Conforming to the social distancing guidance really well. Waitress was lovely and very helpful. Food was okay on the reduced / limited menu, but was made better on the 50% off deal. We will go back but its not top of the list.
H. S.
Thanks for a great experience every time at the Inn in Scarcroft! Been here to eat a few times since the reopening of 2nd lockdown. Menu is great, loving the super salads and stone baked pizzas! Kids menus are a winner. Really pleased that you don’t have to book, makes it a lot easier when deciding. Thanks to Chris who has been our waiter each time, so helpful, always aims to please nothing is too much trouble. Thank you! See you again soon 😄
R. J.
Very pleasant experience all round. Staff and food we're very good, definitely will be paying another visit, in not to distant future.
M. C.
Lovely place and food was great 👍 and friendly staff
J. M.
Really nice interior and atmosphere. Selection of real ales could be better
K. D.
The food was very good. The house burger was superb. Apple and blackberry crumble divine. Great staff attentive but not in your face all the time. They keep the Black Sheep ali in fine fettle
J. S.
Lovely food and friendly service.
m. k.
Stopped en route from Leeds. Excellent watering hole will call again
C. R.
Food was lovely, staff were friendly it was clean apart from the window area paint coming off lots of black mould not a good site to see in front of u when eating, sham about the some of the customers in there i felt uncomfortable all the time i was there i don't think me and my family was posh enough for them, we walked in and all eyes was on us, i definitely will not be returning there to be made to feel that way again, its a shame people can be so cruel, so if I was you coming from not so much a high background I'd avoid this please, you will not be appreciated as a human,
R. S.
Second visit, will not be the last. Very pleasant ambiance. Comprehensive menu, tasty and well presented. Helpful staff with table service. Could have been 5 star rating but only three out of six hand pumps were available for various reasons, not that I was in a position anyway to sample more than one!
J. B.
Excellent, food great staff very friendly and helpful, nice atmosphere
P. S.
Decent pub and enjoyable food.
R. W.
Came here for Christmas dinner on Christmas day with my mum. Great service and good food. Good sized portions and a festive ambiance. Much preferred to making it all at home. Delicious Christmas pudding for afters. Worth the money. Honest food- none of the fancy tiny portioned gastro fayre here. Cheers- Vintage Inns.

After reading negative reviews on trip advisor we decided to make our own minds up. Well, it definitely paid off! Had a fabulous meal, the Sunday Lunch two people platter. I had problems cutting the beef, but that was easily solved by being offered sharper steak knives and the beef was tender and melted in your mouth. A wonderful selection of vegetables, roast potatoes, perfect Yorkshire puddings, and parsnips were served with real beef gravy. I ordered extra cauliflower cheese... Beautiful. My son had a burger with chips, well presented, handmade burger with real beef and a pork loin steak too. Chocolate brownie with custard was amazing! Very friendly and attentive staff throughout, from us being welcomed through to leaving. A very pleasant and welcoming place for Sunday lunch. Highly recommended ☺
A. W.
We went for a family meal to celebrate a birthday. There was 13 of us so a big group. The food was fantastic really nice. Only issue was the time it took to come however we accept cooking from fresh. We did have young children so time was difficult. However the team were great with birthday cakes etc...
R. R.
Went here for my sister's birthday, the Sunday roast was fantastic and as I'd mentioned it was her birthday when I booked, the waiter brought her a brownie and ice cream with a candle, which was a really thoughtful and generous touch. And also delicious! Would definitely come here again. Thanks to Matthew with the ponytail for his great service!
S. H.
Fantastic decor. Huge place. We had lunch on Monday 3rd June. My wife had the homemade lobster fish cake. She told me "you can tell these are homemade. They are sooo tasty."
I had battered fish and chips. The batter was crispy and non greasy. The fish itself was perfectly cooked, moist and a good size. The triple cooked chips were also done to perfection and the slightly minted peas a delight. Both portion sizes just right. Finally, the staff are professional and welcoming. Thank you all for a thoughly enjoyable meal.
R. L.
Beautiful countryside-like pub with a lot of space. Amazing food and great selection of spirits (specially gin). Another good thing: it's not a Wetherspoon. Nice area too.
D.
Nice food.
A good selection of ales and gin.
Well decorated.
Friendly staff.
C. K.
Very welcoming staff. Social distancing in place and simply a clean and delightful place. Quite an impressive clientele, a Lamborgini in the car park, and great chunky chips washed down with a Twinings cup of tea or your preferred tipple. Summer in the garden under the large parasols is relaxing here. Will visit again and again.
M. P.
We all really enjoyed our meal.
L. W.
Faultless Fathers Day lunch. Belly Pork the best around. Staff lovely. Never had a poor meal. Thank you.
H. W.
Excellent Sunday Roast! It never disappoints....
j. r.
Monday lunchtime visit - Excellent COVID procedures in place . Lovely place. Mushroom starter - looked like it had been in microwave too long ... no sauce /shrivelled up mushrooms - requested some sauce - waitress told me it had sauce on it !!! Not sure where she was looking but she should really have refused to serve it in the 1st place !!! Pate starter was nice - but toast preferable to bread . Mains - Brisket Sandwiches / Fries were ok .... i had the same meal at Vantage Inns - The Kestrel in Harrogate - far better . Abit of tweeking here and it would be a really enjoyable meal ...
L. B.
Not been here for years and wow it was soo nice! I ordered sirloin and chips. It was all soo incredibly nice!! Perfect! Had peppercorn sauce with it too and it was lush! My son had fish and chips and he was loving it too! Same as my partner who ordered lamb pie and we all inhaled it all! Not a crumb left! I have to say I prefer veg with my meal so I missed that with my stake. But I nicked some from my partner and the carrots was lovely as they were grilled :)
Non of yssaid no to pudding. I had the Belgian chocolate brownie with baileys icecream. The brownie was very rich but VERY moist and as of that it was great together with the icecream! I loved it! My son and partner had the crumble of the day and my partner loved it. I tasted it too and yes! Full of flavour. My son thought it was too sweet..Apple and plum. Nice! :)
The atmosphere in the pub is lovely and vibrant! The fire was going and the heat from it was lovely.
I recomend this pub to anyone and we will certainly come back again!
Also, the service is absolutely spot on! I've been to other places where they seem to want to forget they actually do have customers. The Inns is nothing like that! They are lovely everyone who was working tonight (1/2/2020) and so fast with the service!
Wishing you all a great year 2020
A. C.
Early evening pleasantly surprised to find enough customers to create a welcome atmosphere.
Food tasty especially the vegitarian option, and hot plates.
Dog friendly comfortably roomy.
S. H.
friendly and helpful staff. Meal was very nice just not nearly enough! we had fish finger sandwhich with only had 3 small fish goujons so left with a lot of bread and no filling. This is a lovely place to go just a shame the portions are not value for money. I've just had to make my friend a snack as she is still hungry.
D. “. W.
Really nice , cosy place with a large beer garden/outdoor seating area.
Staff are attentive and helpful
We visited during a lunchtime. The food was really nice and the atmosphere very relaxed.
J. C.
I've only ever been here for food woth some friends. We have been a few times over the last few months and travel past other places to eat while getting here which says a lot. The food has always been excellent here, the variety of food is great and it's all cooked brilliantly. The staff have always been incredibly helpful and very friendly always taking that extra minute to ask us how are day has been and making sure were all set. I would definitely recommend The New Inn, especially of there is a group of you wanting to eat.
H. J.
Quiet and friendly, as good as any other chain pub. Good service and a cosy (comfortable, not small) environment. Both times I have ordered food there were items on the menu which were unavailable, however the menu provides plenty of choice anyway.
L. F.
Nice friendly place..good parking facilities.. Clean and welcoming decor..quite enjoyed our Sunday lunch only cons concerned my wife's Yorkshire pud which was frozen and they never offered us any cranberry or mustard. Excellent children's menu. Would definitely come again.
j. n.
Brilliant food and service... wouldn't hesitate to return...
G. S.
Great traditional village pub been coming here over forty years..! Great food good pint..!! Friendly helpful staff 🍺🍺😁👍🏼
J. L.
Good food, service is OK but we go in a group of 5 laughing and chatting so they probably just let us get on with it.
E. A.
Lovely place and tasty meals
G. B.
Excellent pub with great food at reasonable prices. Very attentive staff with friendly demeanor.
m. o.
Great food and well managed social distancing. Plenty of sanitizer to us, felt safe and the food was delicious. I recommend the Hunter's chicken schnitzel, it was delicious.
S. W.
Stunning food, beautiful surroundings, amazing staff - willing to accommodate a small young family without issue. A little pricey but the quality was worth every penny. Will definitely return!
A. M.
Thank you so much for a wonderful evening at The Inn, last night.
All of the team here had a chance to socialise together with each other and our families and friends.
Your staff were delightful and the food was delicious. Everyone said that they would definitely go again.
A. M.
Lovely looking place, great beer garden, food and drinks are all good with one minor exception. Like far too many places these days the chips are terrible, if they aren't frozen chips then they should buy different potatoes! Don't that put you off though it's a great place to visit
T. C.
Been going here for about 15 years now we've always enjoyed the comfortable friendly atmosphere, the good but basic menu, the selection of beers and open fire's.
The excellent staff have changed a lot over the years but Ann always been there with a friendly smile when she serves you a pint, Judith has been the assistant manager for a while now and she's wonderful.
S. M.
Great food, beer and service!
R. N.
Friendly staff. Food a little pricey bit good quality. Nice selection of seating, sofas, comfy chairs. Fire. One downside and maybe might not affect all, but punters seemed unfriendly and not a nice atmosphere for us.
M. T.
Good food generally, with one exception tough steak, pleasant service.
L. B.
Called in today with my husband for lunch. Food was delicious and the staff were very good. Will definitely come again and would be happy to recommend. Thanks to everyone there.
J. P.
Very very good food and frindly service.
C. S.
Despite covid, everyone was crammed into one area of the pub to eat - which seemed odd when there were plenty of areas with nobody in them. Sadly the food is not up to the standard I've had in other Vintage Inns either. However the place is very clean and the staff were friendly.
P. D.
Great lunchtime meal for four people. Staff very welcoming, menu always being updated. Will keep returning and recommending
A. T.
Just had a lovely lunch there. Nice surroundings, menu was good value for money and the food was really good. Staff very friendly and helpful.
T. D.
Staff friendly & welcoming. Had the Sunday roast - the lamb shank, potatoes & parsnips were lovely but sadly the Yorkshire pud was well overcooked and the veg undercooked. The gravy was rather uninspiring, almost tasting like bisto.
G. P.
Quiet lunch, good menu good food. Staff very welcoming.
R. S.
Very good 👍 meal, with excellent staff, but service a little slow.
P. H.
Excellent food good parking not far from home.
I really enjoyed my experience here and will be returning in the not too distant future
A. D.
Great food. Pleasant service. Great price. Will be back one day.
S. H.
First time we have been in for a long time. Loved the warm cosy atmosphere. Staff were very friendly (even if they did forget our 2nd pot of tea/coffee..lol).Food was also very good. We will be back. Please thank your staff on our behalf.
s.
Nice warm fires good wines and beers nice food. Free parking .
D. D.
Amazing food ... wonderful staff would highly recommend me and my family will be back
M. D.
Great for a good meal and family occasion. Prices bit higher but good choice on menu. Kids meals lovely not usual kids pub rubbish.
H. A.
Lovely welcoming feel. The young woman behind the bar was lovely, really friendly
J. M.
Very good service and excellent quality food would recommend for Sunday lunch
D. S.
A little bit disappointed with the food and the service.
G. A.
The service was not really up to scratch - almost from walking into the pub, when we were told that someone would come and seat us in the restaurant and nobody did.It continued when our sharing platter was brought to us without any plates and when we had to remind the staff about the drinks we had ordered (the majority of staff at that point were standing around the bar, chatting to each other).
More than the below-par service, both my friend and I felt the food was not of particularly good quality. The starters were very overcooked - notably the breaded chicken and the " garlic" bread - or else were salty, served with dips that were quite inedible. The main courses, too, were of an an average standard, with my friend's fishcakes being overwhelmed by the mustard as opposed to being enhanced by it. The salad and Mediterranean vegetables, too, were soaked with oily dressing, meaning that most of that was left uneaten, too.
To cap off the evening, we were interrupted in our conversation by the waitress coming over with the credit card machine, almost imploring us to finish up and pay rather than have a leisurely end to the proceedings.
In all, I would not recommend the food or the service to anyone who cares about their dining experience, and would certainly not be coming back for second helpings!
R. S.
Interesting and reasonably priced menu, both fixed and a la carte. Table service. Adequate range of real ale. Friendly staff. Very quiet on mid-week lunch time.
S. P.
Went here after a hospital appointment . So thought why not so glad we did . Write both ad burgers very tasty and the sauce in pot was to die for . Only thing is I didn't see a gluten free option so I was naughty ....
S. P.
We went for a 2 course meal - The soup of the day and main. They accidently forgot to put our starter though, but this was quickly sorted to a high standard - although it say curried cauliflower soup, but it was more like vegatable. The mains we had were lovely, meat pie's, mash, greens and fish cake. All prepared lovely. Attention to detail could be worked on, but will go again as it's beautfiul.
J. M.
We waited one hour and twenty minutes for our lunch today. We were told there was a 40 minute wait due to there being a Christmas party on. The problem was that there seemed not to be enough staff on. One bar member to serve the whole pub including the party of 35! Today's visit was disappointing.
G. M.
My daughter and I popped into here for a bite to eat while traveling around the lovely country side. The food was excellent with service to match. Hayley was so good. Thank you Hayley.
B. S.
Lovely Sunday lunch here today. The staff were very friendly lovely atmosphere. Not too busy and most important food was delicious . Recommend 100%
F. B.
Lovely and tasty food. Reasonable prices. Hospitality and service 100%
I would definitely recommend it!
S. G.
2 x couples: Nice food plenty to eat but not out-faced, reasonably priced, the staff where all lovey so friendly, and courteous. We have had a very enjoyable evening at the New Inn.
J. B.
Went for Sunday lunch.. all staff were very helpful and nothing too much trouble. Food was very good and presented well.... many thanks will be back
D. D.
Go here for a meal occasionally on a Wednesday evening before going on to the cinema. Good food. Central location. Can be a but busy at times, but it's a good local pub and good place to meet..
D. S.
First time, will let you know after eating but the place looks splendid
D. J.
Good atmosphere, good drinks. Service was good but understaffed for a Sunday afternoon. Waiting over half hour just for a dessert. Food was slightly lack luster but overall decent!
A. S.
Sunday lunch was superb. Hopefully a return to form for this pub
e. b.
Looks a lovely place. Only had a drink. Most people in there didnt looked particularly pleased to be there but it was Leeds Festival weekend so probably not too happy with traffic sito.
M. S.
Friendly staff nice food
B. S.
We had a large two family meal and the service matched the food, wonderful. Polite, well cooked and priced competitively. We're going back.
j. h.
We have eaten at the New Inn at Scarcroft quite a few times and everything has always been lovely the staff wonderful , however today we were served at the bar a "gentleman" he was very aloof and and not very helpful and he proceeded to get 2/4 of our food orders wrong even though I checked them with him. When the food arrived he was clearing tables near ours and when I said our order was wrong he argued that I had placed the order wrongly. The waitress apologised on his behalf and didn't seem surprised that it was his fault. He came and apologised in person later in a very patronising manner. I will go back to the New Inn but I will insist that I am served by someone else as like I said the rest of the staff have always been very perfessional.
R. M.
Excellent Atmosphere, Excellent Food and friendly staff. Highly recommended
H. B.
Went here for a lovely Sunday Lunch, the food, service and atmosphere were all excellent. We were seated next to a cosy fire which was lovely . Will definately be back.
C. H.
Cracking meal, excellent service, pleasant surroundings. Will be back in the future!👍
M. C.
Really nice place to eat and drink, just a little expensive.
j. m.
How disappointing. Took my Mum and my wife and our 2 boys for Sunday lunch.
My Mum choose the beef pie and I chose the Lamb shank pie (?) to try something different. My wife and the boys (6 and 3) chose the traditional beef Sunday lunch. We ordered a drink each - 2 wines a J2O an apple juice and lemonade. I added some cauliflower cheese to share. Oh dear.... The pastry on both pies was like the cover of an old book. The Beef pie was less than half full in the dish and the Lamb shank pie was just bizarre and tasty like the animal had die of old age. The Cauliflower cheese was inedible i.e. not cooked at all and was sitting in a sauce the texture of white water. The beef was stringing and fatty and SO overcooked. My 6 year old ate all the veg etc from his plate and attempted to cut his meat. He asked for my help and I as a 6ft 15 stone man could not actually cut it. When the waiter appeared (I believe the front of house manager, to clear the table, I asked him to take my boys plate into the kitchen and try himself. He returned to finish clearing away and told me he couldn’t either and had a word with the chefs. From all the staff there appeared to be a complete lack of customer interface that mattered - they had turned up to work to be payed and were just getting through it and then they could go home. Although I wouldn’t pay for the Cauliflower cheese I stated to him that I did not want a refund on anything else as we had eaten parts of the food. It was and is just so disappointing that as a family your occasion is ruined by either bad Management or just a lack of pride in what they deliver. I do not write reviews normally but as my 84 year Mum was paying the bill I felt I had to let my thoughts be seen. It would appear after reading some of the other reviews on the web we were not alone in our experience. What a shame for the chain behind them. Maybe a mystery caller on a Sunday would be a good idea.

Solid local pub food, if not unspectacular, in an area where there is a lot of choice with numerous eateries ranging from low cost to higher end. See also the Bingley Arms in Bardsey, or the Half Moon Collingham.

This place has just changed hands The new landlord has gone to great lengths to completely change the approach different menus the price scale has changed even though it is a multiple chain public house There is food to suit all tastes from the more discerning to the couple on a quick fill up fuel stop It has its locals as they all do but is becoming very popular with all concerned
