A very interesting place to go with friends! Super close to the uni, so there are a lot of students. Great vibe, beautiful decor. I noticed they have some interesting promotions as well. We would visit this place every time after we had some events in our school. Fab staff. Good selections, tasty foods and drinks. The gaming area is a lot of fun!

Good food and a great pint just felt understaffed when we visited. Only 2 front of house staff were working on the Sunday for bottomless brunch and everything else that came in leaving them drained and in a bit of a bad mood. Genuinely felt really bad for them 😕 hopefully they can improve staff numbers for the future would genuinely be spot on other from that.

Exceptionally good place with awesome music, people and staff. They also have food and drinks for reasonable prices. Especially the chickenwings still make my mouth water🤤. Especially Kiara (I hope I got the spelling right) the bouncer and her colleague are doing a great job and make you feel welcome and special and make sure you enter the pub with a smile on your face. Thanks for a great time! Definitely will come back soon!

Cheap craft and cocktail on Thursday, good deal. On a not so busy Thursday saw the staff chatting and laughing by the bar, not sure if this has sth to do with my chicken finally served to the table COLD. Not so hospitable staff, feels weird and receive eyes when talked to them. It’s a place near uni supposedly it should be a friendly place.

Nice, spacious student bar with some great incentives such as 30p chicken wing Wednesdays and Thursdays, free pub quizzes with cash prizes and cheap drinks. Pool tables and games consoles are a nice touch as well! Would visit again

This pub is fantastic! There are always good deals on such as wing Wednesday, where one wing costs 30p, or Karaoke night, where drinks are very cheap. The atmosphere in this pub is always nice and they have pool tables available to use. The pub also do fabulous food and breakfast menus!

Been coming here for 4 years. Food is always great and the atmosphere/decor is awesome. Probably wouldn't go when it's peak Otley Run hour or there's a big football match showing though! Staff are usually pleasant and the fact I can buy cereal is just amazing. Loads of card/board games to play as well. Just a really chill place to catch up with friends that's close to uni.

Studenty venue right next to Unis and reasonably priced to reflect the clientele. Loads of seating inside. Did a mid-week lunch and the baggette with crispy chicken was ok.

Nice place for a late breakfast or a gathering with the gang. Whatever the occasion it's a nice cozy place to visit. If you have a "more" loyalty card you are gonna enjoy free drinks or food in a couple of visits.

The Library is a primarily student pub, always a good shout to go to when you have gap hours with your mates, and their weekly offers make it more appealing to visit, on Tuesdays they serve the 25p pancakes and you can never go wrong with those, so grab your friends and do some bit of day drinking, pool and pancakes if you're looking for a fun afternoon activity

Wings were lovely on wing wednesday, although the menu is misleading, the wings come plain and you add dipping sauce, the menu states the wings are "drenched" in sauce. Delicious despite this.

This review is for The Lending Room, which is upstairs. It's a great venue, decent size, can fit a nice amount of people in. The stage is a decent size, not too small, not too big. The soundman is very knowledgeable and accomodating. Good beer on draft, and can pay by card. Parking on street near by. Overall cool place to host a show or watch a band.

I have been going the library pub for at least 15 years. The food is good quality, and the atmosphere/building itself it quite pleasant. They have a wide, if slightly expensive range beer, but unfortunately the quality of the beer is very bad and often tastes foul. If staff cleaned the beer system regularly it would be alot nicer pub.

Went to the library pub yesterday on a Otley run and the bouncer Kiara was so lovely and went above and beyond her duties as a bouncer. She was so helpful which can often be a trait bouncers don't have. It has made me want to go back to the library pub knowing she works there as a bouncer!

Understaffed on Saturday (or the staff were inattentive) - our food was sat at the hatch for ages not being served, so someone wasn’t checking the screens. Putting that aside though, my friends and I love The Library Bar. It’s got great music, vibes, drinks selection and food. Thursdays are £3 craft beer and cocktails glasses, pitchers are £6. Bex, Jack, Steph, Jamie, Rob and Abi can all whip up a mean cocktail, and Seth and Daisy cooked some delicious burgers, would highly recommend The Melt burger!

Great drinks prices for pints and cocktails on a Thursday, and had the Prime Video football matches on. However, the night was let down by a 30 minute wait for table service drinks, with only one person doing them for the whole venue. Wrong to put that much pressure on one person and to advertise so much a service which clearly doesn't work as well as it does in other venues staff wise. Wil use bar next time

Great venue upstairs, called the lending rooms. Downstairs very busy it's a student place and literally across the road from the main site. Good range of beers, food and snacks. The burger I had last time was really good and they do coffee which is great. I'd prefer it at a quieter time, I'm sure there are some especially out of term time.

The environment is lovely yet late night some guys start creating mess after getting drunk & 2 control them sometimes getting difficult. All the students of leeds university came here right after studying 2 relax themselves ..... doesn't seems they're here 4 studies rather partying & socializing only !!! Really fun quiz night on a Sunday, with a different theme each week! Great range of pints that you can't get in a lot of other places, which can be a bit pricey, but the points scheme makes up for it to some extent. Reusable Coffee mugs are very handy, as you get free refills for the whole semester! Fab range of food, including vegetarian and vegan options, and non-alcoholic drinks including some great smoothies!

Surprisingly good menu for a student pub and their vegan menu is affordable as well as a interesting. Great little nooks to get your head down with some work or have a catch up with friends. They have loads of deals throughout the week and the sports arent offensively loud unless there is a big game on. the venue upstairs hosts a variety of music and is worth checking out. Would recommend also getting a more card if you're a frequent flyer here as points stack up quickly

A classic destination for a Thursday night drink - whether you’re going there as a society or enjoying a pint with sports. This place is a perfect match for students, so it can get rather busy at times. The alcohol is really cheap, so beware of those pitchers. The food is quite tasty too - especially burgers.

This pub is a big place and can be nice and relaxing throughout the week with a mixture of students and working men and women. The breakfast is average and the drinks are expensive but that's expected in a city. If you buy a breakfast dont buy a orange juice because its almost as much as the breakfast. I've only been in The Library in the day time so I can imagine that pub can transform into something greater at night.

Went here to meet a bunch of friends. The room we were in was a bit warm but the rest of the place was large and fine. It clearly attracted uni kids but was a great and lively environment. They had a billard table and some TVs, well. The deals on drinks were great and we have a special uni club discount, so they were even better. Service was quick and friendly although some were obviously new but there was someone behind them to help move things along. The location was near the universities but far from the city center. I'm sure we'll be back with friends again.

Friday and Saturday nights the main bar of full of students in fancy dress. The rest of the time it's a chilled out and civil place to be. The function room does its own thing and has a separate bar and loos. Choose the right time to go and it's a nice place to be, but if you're after quiet and civil don't go on a Friday or Saturday night.

Cheap and cheerful student pub just outside the city centre. In a beautiful old building the interior is done out nicely. The menu is good and at a good price. Suggest this place for a lazy Sunday afternoon if you are not a student but all other times it is very busy, which is fine if you want that :).

Probably great if you enjoy sharing a pub with people fancy dressed as various odd things and being rowdy, or if you're into football. Decent selection of drinks, food looked OK, just odd clientele. Also noted groups of young lads that either had incredibly small bladders or were visiting the toilet constantly for other reasons.

Quick fix. The usual chain food from pubs around the area. Nice food though. Options for vegetarians and Always very filling! Creative specials every now and again which really tempt you to try them! Love the drinks (infusions and can cocktails especially) and these are only made better by the amazing deals offered every day such as £3 pints after 5 on a Thursday. Go and enjoy. Download the secret dj app as well and queue some of your favourite songs.

The library is a nice place for students and their friends. It's also a sport pub. There is a variety of ales on tap, plenty of people and good affordable food. It is a great place to hide from the world of problems while being young and stupid. It is good for big as well as small groups and staff is quick and friendly.

Some of the BEST live music I've ever seen from smaller acts. Sittuated n a thriving student area right next to a stunning park is a theatre type venue with limited space to park, an ordinary menu of drinks and £5 entry on most nights. Catch it on a good night and drink before going.

Has Brewdog's alcohol free Nanny State for drivers who may be attending gigs, but costs the best part of £4, which is as much as for alcoholic offerings,which seems a bit daft. In evenings can get busy with students on the Otley Run: not something I'm bothered about but a heads-up in case you are.

I have been here for 4 years. The best place ever to have breakfast, lunch or even dinner. Next to the engineering building so it's a super convenient place for engineering students at The University of Leeds. Foods are affordable and great taste.

Good pub opposite the University of Leeds and adjacent to Hyde Park. Frequented by a mix of people but popular with students. The place is spacious with a large bar and extensive drinks selection. Above the pub is a performance venue called the Lending Room which has regular performances from local and visiting bands and musicians.

I like the atmosphere here and staff are generally nice but it's overpriced and I particularly think the food isnt good enough. Last time I visited they were also massively understaffed (during the week) with only one person on the bar so a queue formed and it was a 20minute wait to order food or get a drink. Its a student pub but also tries to do sports and hipstery games (like having a ps1).

I went to The Library to see bands upstairs in the Lending room. Upstairs was great, good stage, excellent sound. Food was good too! Downstairs,... Crowded, rowdy, fights breaking out, half hour wait at the bar. Not a pleasant experience. Maybe I caught them on a bad night, on the TV was live rugby followed by live football. Not for me I'm afraid,!

On my last visit I ordered I ordered the southern fried chicken and chips which was meant to come with "Zingy Lime & Chilli Slaw With Sesame Seeds" but actually came with some dry grated cabbage and carrot but as per always there was no staff around to question it and as I'd already paid just left.

Went to the The Lending Room to go to a gig. It was a little confusing to find as it's actually a room in upstairs in The Library (which is a bar, not an actual Library). Go through to the far corner near toilets is a door to lead upstairs. Prices are good and wide selection of drinks. As well as TV for sports fans. The venue was good for music events, it has good sound and a nice large stage. Unsure on the capacity of the Lending Room but probably around 200-300.

Great bar. Clean toilets. Good mixture of people. But the best thing.... Whilst closing up, a homeless guy walked by, i gave him some money and a few cigs. Then the bouncer, Dave I believe (I was slightly tipsey), came and gave him everything in his pocket.. The homeless guy said he could now afford to stop in a b and b and get a bed and a bath. Faith in humanity was restored. Really nice to see.

Cracking, ever-changing selection of beers, near infinite choice of gins. Nibbles and meals available for vegans and regular folk. Can get understandably busy on occasion, especially around regular otley run times, but if you aren't expecting that along this road that is really your problem, not the pubs!

Usually visit the Library on the Otley Run, as it is a must visit venue, but it is usually very, very full at peak times, making it very slow to get served. There is inevitably groups of students in Otley Run fancy dress, which is great for the atmosphere, and really fun to see, but as I am old enough to have actually been in here when it was a library, it is not a place for me to linger a long time.
