Lovely place. Went during a sunny day, so can't comment on what it's like on a night, but what i can say is the lager was lovely and the landlady was very nice. Benches outside to sit on, but also nice inside. The toilets were very clean. One of the better pubs in Kippax.

A great friendly pub. Relaxing atmosphere and excellent beer! We drink the Organic Pur Brewed lager which very good. Most drinks are well below beer prices at main stream pubs. P and D

Love Sam Smith's prices, and the beer is excellent. Bar games including pool and darts. Could do with some music sometimes, but I understand that the lack of a licence of this kind contributes to the cheap drinks prices, so willing to forgive. Looks better since the refurb as well.

Great pub, nice beer, friendly atmosphere, no music being a sam smiths pub, no phones allowed inside the premises, the landlord Dave and the rest of the staff are great, prices have increased dramatically since lockdown thanks to Humphrey, outside is a sun trap when the weather is good

I love the place, Dave and Margaret are excellent landlord and landlady, always get a great welcome when we call in,they know what you drink as soon as you walk in and its pulled ready

Felt like I was in a time warp, trapped in a 1970's working man's club. Big room, local clientele. Saving grace is that it's good beer and cheap too.

Nice old fashioned pub.
Was there for a funeral tea, good spread.

Sam Smith's pub so it's cheap. A bit old and worn. Very much a local pub and a bit cold with strangers. When I first moved to Kippax and went for a pint in here I felt like the Americans in the pub from American Werewolf In London (don't know what that is YouTube it, you'll see what I mean).

Entirely a great delight, no loud music or sports on T. V. phone calls are band within the pub, a genuine quiet pub where you can go for a quiet drink and hold a conversation without having to talk loudly and you can hear your own thoughts in peace and quiet there is a pool table in the other bar or you can sit in the other one for a chat the bar staff are friendly I'll be definitely visiting this pub in the near future

Nice proper pub, mainly caters for older drinkers, friendly young staff, on the main road in Kippax, the first pub you come to from Garforth, It is a Samuel Smiths pub so no music (good), notices telling people not to use smartphones either, decor is nice, a large open lounge, couldn't notice another bar but for a no frills pub, and with a large car park, most welcome

Lovely friendly staff and a very nice pint.

Good local pub, busy when its sunny as it becomes a sun trap. Local beer and very good value
C. S.
Sam Smiths pub. Serves its own range of beers, brewed locally in Tadcaster. Most expensive draught beer is only £2:30! Beat that Wetherspoons!
