Excellent value for money. Clean and spacious with very pleasant staff. The food is good and is prepared fresh for you. There was one error made on my order which was very quickly rectified and did not spoil my experience at all. I had a mixed grill, which was made up of very nicely prepared meats and fresh salad. Thoroughly recommended!

Great food. Steak and ale pie highly recommended. Ossett Blonde pint was perfect. Friendly place. We called in whilst walking down the Leeds / Liverpool canal. Food available Wednesday lunchtime. Very good, clean, toilet facilities. We will definitely be going again.

Went for Sunday lunch and there was a choice of beef or gammon, I chose beef but regretted it as I could have soled my shoes with it. Also could have done with more vegetables. It was quite pricey for what we had. They didn't even have horseradish or French mustard!

Not a great advert for a place to dine. After hearing good reviews about The Owl, we decided to book the venue to accommodate 45 people for a wake following the funeral of my mother. When we arrived we were asked to move to a small area at the rear of three pub which could maybe fit a dozen or so. My sister asked to be moved to a more suitable locaion so they asked the current diners in the main area to move out to accommodate us all! They didn't appear to be too happy. The buffet food was average to be fair with defrosted, soggy quiche being the talking point and dozens of sandwiches left to dry up. Needless to say there was plenty of food left over at the end of the event which we asked to be bagged up then threw away in the skip. Certainly not worth the £7.50 per head we were charged. Would not recommend for a buffet event.

This venue is very child friendly and a pleasure to visit. The chef is a jolly old fellow who takes pride in his food with both taste and presentation. The bar staff are a bundle of joy. I will certainly continue to take my family here and will most definitely be pre booking Christmas Dinner again.

This is a really great pub! The staff are really friendly, Gina the landlady is a star. Great selection of beers for the liker of real ale and fabulous food. Try the pies :-) Live music is often on and is usually pretty good. All sorts of other events including an August bank holiday beer and music festival lasting 3 days (in conjunction with The Barge over the road) which gets better every year. A really good pub!!!

1 minute walk from the picturesque canal at Rodley. The main restaurant area was temporarily closed during roof repairs last week, but we had a lovely, traditional Giant Yorkshire Pudding, filled with loads of roast beef, vegetables and gravy. Served by the friendly barman.

We had a fabulous afternoon. (A baby shower.) The price of the Becks blue per bottle alcohol free is absolutely ridiculous . The food and venue was fabulous. Only the price of drinks let it down. Not sure I would recommend.

This pub is 'ONE of the best in the area. The food is absolutely beautiful. The ambience could be nicer with some music on low in background in the dining area. Overall, once you've been you'll not want to go elsewhere!!

This is a very good little pub. Located just across the road from The Rodley Barge, with whom they hold a beer festival every August! As with all the local pubs, they offer a good selection of real ales and also serve some very good food! We have eaten here a few times and have never been disappointed!

I wanted to reassure readers that The Owl is currently open! I've been this evening (1/5/15) and had a lovely meal. The food is great and prices just as good. I went a few weeks ago to see local band The Roosters play live too. It's a nice venue.

The problem with the Owl is that the quantity of food differs each visit. One time we ordered Garlic Bread and received 4slices with a small salad dressing, the next time I visited I received 2 slices and no salad. Also it is the same with the Chicken Goujons, 3 one time 4 the next?

Was a bit dark in the bub .and when we went it was cold in the pub wile we were eating our lunch .I still kept my scarve and coat on .pie was lovely but was served with frozen chips garden peas and gravy .was £10.95 .so want be returning.
