Called in for a pint while walking the dogs. Real ales on offer at the bar which is a must for me. There's also plenty of outdoor space too. Had a meal which was spur of the moment but portions not very big for the price.

Quaint little pub by the canal. Stopped in for a coffee after a stroll along the canal. Dog and family friendly, lovely polite staff. I imagine this place could be very busy at weekends, we went on a Monday and it was quiet but probably because food is not served Mondays and Tuesdays. Still a lovely place to sit and have a drink after a walk.

A popular pub in a prime location by the side of the Leeds/Liverpool canal in Rodley. The problem on a sunny Saturday afternoon here is parking. A recent addition of a small tea room across the road has doubtless increased the issue for local residents. If you're lucky enough to find a spot to park, then the next challenge in good weather is finding an outside table at either to sit at. At the pub there was additional space on a grassed area that appeared to be closed so I watched as several couples searched without success for a seat. On the plus side, The Railway is child and dog friendly, has decent service, a limited but well priced pub grub menu and serves a well kept pint of Timothy Taylors Boltmaker.

Dog friendly pub sandwiched between the River Aire and the Leeds Liverpool Canal. Has plenty of outdoor seating to the rear and to the side in the gardens. Also has bike park by the gate. Serves a good drop of Wainwright's beer. Also has Timothy Taylor's Boltmaker on handpulled cask ales. Homemade food served 12 til 8 Wednesday to Saturday and 12 til 6 on Sunday. Vegetarian options available. Friendly staff. Would revisit, especially after a lovely canalside walk.

I have walked past this pub countless times and never been in for a beer, I am glad we finally did on a beautiful sunny afternoon after a walk down the canal from Kirkstall. A large beer garden that really does get the sun and what looks like fantastic food. Give it a go as you won't be disappointed.

What a lovely early evening meal, all the food is homemade and really tasty, very dog friendly and we were made to feel welcome, The chef approached us for a chat and let us sample his curry which was excellent. The young lady from the bar spent time chatting to us in the beer garden. A really good atmosphere and we will definitely be going again.

First time eating here this week, it’s a regular stop on our walks along the canal but have never been for food before. I’m not often a big fan of pub food - I often find it too “try hard” or too “not tried enough”. The menu here is very simple, but the food is outstanding quality and incredible value. A lot of thought obviously goes into creating and making it. We ordered salad and hand cut fries, but we saw steaks and burgers that looked incredible. We will be going back to try more of the menu. It’s pet and child friendly, and has a lovely welcoming atmosphere.

Good, honest Yorkshire pub. Great pint of Theakstone's Old Peculiar. The highlight for me was the beef and ale (Theakstone's OP) pie. Proper pie. Chef, who hails from South Africa is very proud of his pies. We weren't brave enough to try his All Day Breakfast Pie.

Lovely spot with nice outdoor seating and lovely food. Beware though it does get very busy at peak times. The South African chef is top and the Beef Brisket is absolutely immense! Has Timmy Taylor's beers on tap and staff are friendly. Visit!

Visited here a few times over the past few months as the food is fantastic! Salads are gorgeous, the pizzas are amazing, the staff are very friendly and helpful and they have plenty of space outside in the beer garden. The menu isn't huge but the dishes they do serve are made well and excellent value. Will certainly return and recommend to anybody visiting local. The pub is just off the canal path as well so ideal for lunch or a drink if your having a walk along the canal.

The bubble cars have been calling in for our monthly meeting for many a year now. Whether it is sitting outside in the summer warmth, or inside next to a glowing log fire, the ambience, staff and food keep us coming. And long may it continue.

Mid-week pub lunch - I came here with Hubby and our puppy Obi. We both had the steak and ale pie with chips, mushy peas and a gravy boat. The flavours in the pie filling and the pastry were wonderful however the meat was quite chewy. If the meat had been tender I would mark it 10 out of 10. The Chef came out to ask everyone if they were happy with their food, Hubby replied before me saying that it was lovely. He doesn't like to complain so I didn't comment. Other diners seemed happy enough and I would come back.

Travelled over from Liverpool. Advertised as dog friendly so we were able to take the dog inside while we ate. The staff were friendly, good service, decent portion size. Ordered the homemade steak & ale pie, which was full of nice thick chunky meat and could taste the ale in the pie. By far one of the best pies ever tasted. Would highly recommend and will definitely be visiting again.

Really cosy and old fashioned little pub. A beautiful historic building carefully maintained with original and quaint memorabilia from the era of steam trains and trams. The staff are very welcoming and attentive who are quick to take your food and drink orders with a smile and a chat. All orders are placed at the bar and food is brought to your table. The food quality is excellent and delicious, very reasonably priced and arrived within 15 minutes which gives the impression that everything is cooked fresh to order. Overall the service was fantastic, the prices are very modest and I would definitely go back again.

We have stopped here on many occasions when out for a walk with friends and dogs. The pub is warm and welcoming with a good range of ales - some brewed locally. They offer food and are also dog friendly! There is also a beer garden for when the sun pops out!

Ace for a stroll down the canal. Stop off for a quick drink on the way back. Nice little beer garden round the back but the sun sits on the front in the afternoon. Love this little pub, not a regular so to speak but nip in on our way past sometimes.

Walked in after a stroll along the canal. Nice old building set just off the canal. Plenty of cycle parking, but no car park. Beer is standard fare, but kept well. Food is good and good value. Nice large beer garden. Low on traffic noise, but close to the railway 😂. Good way to end a walk.
