O.Stopped off unexpectedly en route to the airport. Lovely food. Fantastic value lunchtime set menu. And really friendly and welcoming staff. Toilets clean, place seems well looked-after. We had a great experience!
S. M.Good pub, nice food but short on selection of ale, only 1 IPA. Lovely bar staff made us feel very welcome. Good choice of vegan and vegetarian food. Even larger options for meat eaters. Don't get to the dessert but fair choice. Friendly staff, gave us good directions and we're friendly. Would visit again.
l. r.Ended up pulling in here completely randomly as we were driving past and it just looked so lovely! And we were not disappointed! Every single member of staff was so warm and friendly, the view sat outside was BEAUTIFUL, lovely decor, really speedy great service. This is well out of the way and nowhere near where we live but I have absolutely no doubt that we’ll be back, worth traveling to! What a gorgeous place and the staff are absolutely exceptional. Thank you and see you again soon! :)

M.Although the table had been booked 2 weeks in advance as we had a family gathering coming up upon arrival there was no details on their system, thankfully we had email confirmation on the phone, knowing this isn't a fast food service its appreciated the food does need to be prepared.. but with the farce of their hostess not being able to find booking and the added waiting time for the meal to arrive (almost an hour) our guests had to rush their meal to catch the train.. so the whole experience was pretty sub par.

L. G.Usually pop in for drinks. Ordering for table service via the Ember Inns app is really handy, and the service is always really fast and friendly. We've ordered food here a number of times too, and it's always been tasty and good value for money, with plenty of choice to suit most tastes . Good place to take the kids for tea too
M. S.Went with family, arrived before 5pm so was able to order the special of 2 courses for 7.49. The homemade soup was delicious and the Hunters chicken was very nice too! The rest of the party had fish snd chips and sausage and mash, which again was very nice. The staff professional and friendly. Will visit again.
A. P.The pub itself is okay; a fairly good selection of drinks and plenty of tables. Food is reasonably priced compared to other pubs and restaurants in the area, but my meal was a bit disappointing; the steak was practically cold and the salad looked like someone had emptied the bits from the bottom of the salad drawer of a fridge onto my plate and it also contained onions despiteme asking for none. The other people in our party seemed to enjoy their food, so I guess I was just unlucky.
The pub has a car park with quite a few spaces (some round the back).
N. B.Decent food and a well kept pint of Tim Taylor’s Landlord BUT exactly the same fish and chips, ordered within minutes of each other at 12.45pm , can be £9.79 on one menu and £5.49 on another menu until 5pm . Watch out for this con trick and order from the “Fixed Price Menu”.

M. B.Called in for lunch today for the first time in years. Atmosphere is brilliant and the decor is clean and stylish. The menu has amazing variety, and the staff were really helpful accommodating some of my strange food requests. It’s definitely better than your average pub grub, and reasonably priced too. We ordered a burger, and the lasagne, both were excellent. I’m pleased we revisited here as it’s reminded me there’s a good local spot for easy casual food that’s great quality.

Such a brilliant atmosphere and the drinks were all well presented and very reasonably priced. The 3 staff members that stood out were Jai, Harvey and the manager Adam. I will definitely be going back there next week for the quiz. And apparently there's an interactive quiz on Thursday nights as well!. I think I'll have to go and try that one out. Just a brilliant pub to have on your doorstep.

H.Called today for dinner lovely pub, lovely dinner and friendly staff, be warned though I tried to eat outside but unfortunately the wasps made this impossible and started circling my food a few ended up in my food I’d only had a couple of mouthfuls, we moved tables but unfortunately they were still round us. Mother Nature at its best, lesson learnt, we called at the Toby carvery but there was a huge wait and we were warned about a wasp problem outside prior, after already experiencing this problem we refused I ended up eating at our 3rd destination, maybe a warning would have been good, like with the Toby carvery otherwise I will definitely call again 😊 thanks

A. B.Good fresh looking interior. Covid rules in place but did not cause us any problems complying. Food was very good, decent portions and the steak was tender and cooked to my liking. There is a good selection of ales, lagers, wines and other drinks available. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Booking ahead did help due to social distancing reducing available tables. Will definitely return.

M. H.Can not fault the service. We book at table during eat out to help out. We ordered steaks and they were over cooked and very grisly to the point of it being unedible. The manager on shift was very apologetic and issued a refund for the food. It was nice to have such amazing service even through the meal on this occasion was not the best.

E. M.The 3 stars are for the staff. The food was deplorable. Ordered turkey roast what came was everything mixed up on the plate with the turkey "thrown" on top. Anemic roast potatoes and parsnips all the food hardly warm. Ordered cauliflower cheese extra that was hot in small metal dish pieces of cauliflower with runny white sauce over it. No cheese taste and made with powdered sauce not made correctly as tasted floury. This was my birthday treat some treat. Will not repeat the experience. My daughters mixed grill was ok apart from 2 greasy eggs thrown on top. Her plate was very greasy. Shame shame

P. W.Full marks to Adam and the team at the Stone Trough. We visited late on Bank holiday Monday and enjoyed a casual evening with food and a few drinks. Adam explained the covid measures to us as it was our first visit since they reopened and both me and my wife work for Greene King pubs so outings are few and far between!! All the team we encountered were both friendly and polite, the food was prompt and tasty and the ale crystal clear. We love the pub and will be back as soon as we can!

G. S.This pub is a regular meeting place for me and my friends, however for the second week running since of the food has been below their usual standard.
Last week my friend had to leave nearly all her £11 steak as it was full of gristle.
Against my better judgement I tried it today and it was just the same.
We told a staff member who passed the feedback onto the chef.
He said he was going to contact the supplier about a faulty batch.
Will give it a miss for a few weeks

My wife and I called at The Stone Trough, Rawdon , tonight, Saturday the 7th of March (2020). The guys behind the bar were super friendly and efficient, plenty of banter without being over the top. The food was superb. I had the Gammon, perfection, as were the desserts. Brilliant pub.
S. L.A bit disappointing as far as food goes. The Japanese style chicken was 3 small pieces. The pie was very short of filling. Bad point was they could not mixed grill has they had run out of Rump steak and was unable to substitute with other cut.
Staff where very good and apologetic for the issues. Service was ok not to long await.

The menu is fairly standard pub fare, but with some nice and slightly unusual vegetarian options, and really rather enticing desserts.

The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, swapping dies on meals to healthier alternatives for us and helping pick options when not 100% what to have. I usually go for a steak with new potatoes followed by apple pie with custard and always tastes delicious.

H.Called in to have a lateish tea only had breakfast here since the refurbishment we were very happy with the food and service we both had garlic cheddar mushrooms in a creamy sauce on toasted ciabatta all I can say is scrumy we followed that with hunters chicken looked slightly odd with the bbq sauce on the side but yet again scrumy clean plates from both of us. We would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to have good food at a fair price.

My friend and I had the lovely tomato and basil soup with a small piece of ciabatta. No complaints there. She had lasagne which was strange, with red wine and no taste of garlic or tomato and no layers of lasagne. It was more like shepherds pie with a sheet of soft lasagne on top.
My belly pork was tasty but seemed like it had been boiled as the fat was white, soft and unappetising, not rendered down at all. The broccoli was really hard and not cooked, and inedible.
Sorry Stone Trough, very disappointing.

G. B.Nice pub and very close to the airport. Food was quite expensive. The food was just like weatherspoons but more pricey. Vegan burger with salad £9.99. If you want chips it’s an extra cost.
