Reviews of Toby Carvery Chapel Allerton
M. M.
First visit today and we went for the breakfast. Currently they offer breakfast Saturday & Sunday only due to staffing.
To know they are short staffed during this Covid period you would not think it - all food was consistent with the Toby Breakfast, no short cuts.
The pub is lovely and clean and the staff friendly and helpful (we explained we were new to the venue and the Toby team were very helpful).
Looking forward to trying the Toby Carvery main event one evening.
We shall definitely be back for breakfast.

I had a lovely meal at the Queens Arms. The price was good and the taste of the food was excellent. The portion size of the soup and mac and cheese was a little small however they are appetisers.
The staff members were brilliant hosts and ensured everything was alright with our meals. The restaurant was clean and not too busy.
You can book a table online as well to ensure you get a table and we used a birthday voucher which gave us £10 off £20.
Overall very impressed with the service, food and all the staff.

Went for Christmas day dinner. Staff were super friendly, cheerful and helpful. The food was delicious and beers well kept. Thank you for making Christmas day a real treat.
M. L.
A nice place for a Sunday carvery and the price for two people with drinks was actually very reasonable. The staff were very friendly and attentive so we were made to feel comfortable and relaxed. It would be wise to make a booking for the Sunday meal although they appear to manage the time setting and service to not allow the place to be too crowded at any time or have patrons waiting too long to be seated. Even so, we weren't rushed to leave but there was a steady flow of diners, during my visit, as people left and tables were cleared and reset for new arrivals. We had make a booking but I noticed that they did their best to accommodate people who just dropped in for lunch without a booking. We had a really enjoyable meal.

Food here is great for the price, always come away full and happy. My mum is on a mobility scooter and the staff are accommodating and make room so she can go get her own plate at the carvery buffet, which is nice. There is a ramp in and a clean disabled toilet so accessible as well.

Arrived early but were still shown to a table straight away (Table 7). Ordered drinks which were brought to the table as we went for our Carvery. Great selection of meats & vegetables. Excellent roasties in beef dripping with beautifully thick gravy - delicious! Waiter was excellent - courteous, patient & not pushy or trying to rush us. A very enjoyable dinner at Chapel Allerton - fully fuelled & couldn't eat another thing. Excellent value for money.

Not been since pre lockdown and was pleasantly pleased at the pleasant service and the quality of the carvery veg. What used to be soggy, bland and overcooked is now the opposite. Only disappointment was the poor veggie gravy. Price was excellent for 9 of us, less than £15 per head including some puddings. Not all of us had room after the generous main course
Finally a special thanks for accommodating our bigger party at a busy time
C. K.
Great for greens, and the carvery itself. Slices of roast turkey, beef or gammon are a daily offering. You serve yourself to helpings if potatoes prepared in the oven grill, or steamed up or as a mash. Then the peas and slices of onions, try the red onions. There is a selection of gravy and sauces. These quickly fill up your plate but should be adequate before you get some dessert. Toby is able to offer a takeaway. But remember it also has a bar. You can have that bottomless soda or Coca-Cola or your favourite tipple. Great for families too.

Spur of the moment work lunch. Typical Toby carvery fare, though special mention to the amazing dauphinoise potatoes that were just epic and worthy of a visit just for these alone! Usual selections that were all hot and plentiful. Shame there was no IPA or Pale Ale available at the bar. Service was swift, polite and friendly. Well worth a visit and definitely be returning.
J. H.
Hi we called today for the sunday carvery, the food lovely a nice choice of meats etc just cooked to my liking. All the time we were there the staff were all friendly very tentative and happy which made our lunch very enjoyable, all the staff worked well as a team well done and thank you. See you again soon , John
S. F.
Fantastic service from the team. Caroline was super helpful. It was a busy Sunday and they found myself and partner a table after a very long day
Really appreciate the efforts of the team not to mention the high quality food I was served and self served. I was impressed with the lamb and the beef! The yorkshires were perfect.
Ran out of the leek crumble but there was plenty of other options loads of carrots and peas stuffing butternut squash and potatoes a plenty!
I always get a side plate for my yorkshires!! It makes your strategic placing of food easier!!
Enjoy everyone... out of the 15 carveries I have been to this year this is by far in my top two.
R. S.
It lived up to it's excellent reputation, first class breakfast with quality ingredients. My wife, daughter and I had a lovely relaxed time this morning. Thank you chef and front of house staff.
S. H.
Wasn't aware the restaurant stopped serving 8.30pm, booked table for 7.45, food was good but some had run out and looked messy. Bill put on table while eating mains so felt awkward asking for dessert. Drinks machine turned off before 8pm so had to go to bar to get drink which meant grandson couldn't go get his refill which was paid for. Waitress was lovely but must have been awkward for her. Website doesn't mention service stopping at 8.30. Surely if they close at that time they shouldn't take bookings for 7.45. Not easy to eat a meal, have a coffee and enjoy it in 45 minutes
B. P.
Our waiter Jean Paul was lovely.
The carver (didn't get his name) was friendly and funny.
The gravy and roast potatoes could have definitely been hotter however the beef and creamed spinach were delicious.
g. 8.
Toby Carvery is usually really nice wherever you go, and yes it was not too bad tonight food wise. However when you book a table for 7:45pm and then it’s not till you’re sat eating your main course and they come and put the bill on the table, and have refill drinks and can’t actually refill them because the machine is turned off, they tell you it’s because the place closes at 8:30pm and they stop serving food at 8:00pm!? It does explain why there was hardly any vegetables to choose from for a start, but then we were made to feel rushed and very awkward asking for any drinks and dessert after. This was meant to be for a birthday too so we felt really rushed, couldn’t do what we wanted to do and sit and enjoy the meal. It definitely wasn’t worth while getting the refill drinks as there was no real way to refill them aside from queuing at the bar (which meant leaving the food to go cold in the process as the pub was still very much open and fairly busy.) Not a good experience I’m afraid. This will certainly influence us in booking somewhere to eat in the future.
P. H.
Our first visit to a Toby anywhere since before covid struck.
Not much has changed in the intervening period. Sad to note that there was no bread sauce today, nor mashed potato, which was due to a technical fault! We did not think the 'roasties' were as good as we remembered them. Our server, a French man, was very happy to talk to us at length about travel problems regarding returning to his family for holidays.
S. C.
Myself and my two sisters went for a meal yesterday at about 2 o’clock. Two of us wanted the carvery and the other sister wanted a cheese and chutney sandwich. Both carvers were clap cold and the sandwich was terrible. The bread bap was straight out of the fridge and inedible. They did put both dinners in the microwave but I’m afraid they were still unacceptable. We will not be going back but I have to say the staff were very accommodating. The Garrett Girls.
E. L.
Let's face it you can't beat a good carvery on a Sunday. I always enjoy coming here. The only thing stopping me giving it 5 stars is the standard of the meat. The amount of money this company must make im sure they can afford to buy some decent joints of meat. The beef and lamb are pure fat.
m. G.
The carvery was very good as usual but 2 of our party ordered off the menu and the waiting time for this was appauling the waitress apologised for the wait but this didn't really make up for the wait.
It appears that your online orders seem to take preference over the people on site which I feel is wrong our booking was for 6.30 and the ordered food didn't arrive until 7.15 not good very disappointed with your service on the night will rethink next time I consider using your establishment.
M. C.
Meat portions seem to have diminished but still plenty of veggies to choose from. Severe delays caused by staff having to prepare takeout meals before serving restaurant clientele.
Food itself was good as always.
R.
Lovely atmosphere. Good, hot, fresh food. Staff friendly and on the ball. Lots of parking. Will continue coming to this Toby despite having two closer to us.
P. B.
I've visited the restaurant a few times with family and it's always been great! The staff are always friendly, and the carvery has a good choice of meat and vegetables!
S. W.
The plates wasn't cleaned properly crispy food stuck to the bottom of 3 out of 4 plates.
Also the bar man was ignorant, using his phone while serving and pulling my drinks
D. B.
Everything was on point, as expected.
Only disappointment was The app works for everything except Paying . Although i had received 'successful' via the app. it hadn't gone through .. so beware ..
R. L.
good selection of meat and vegetables but they are always only lukewarm and we have to ask for them to be reheated in the microwave. Wine is good value
P. P.
Service was excellent and were extremely helpful accessing seating for our granddaughter. I will be recommending in the future
A. B.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Food was wonderful.
Nothing to dislike. Nice comfortable atmosphere.
Or waiter was very good and asked us straight away if food was satisfactory.
Chef knowledgeable about allergies and was very helpful.
We were visiting the area but had such a good time we would come again that's 211 miles.
D. B.
Excellent value for money, the food was well prepared and the tables aren't overly cramped. The staff are friendly and accommodating, overall a lovely place to go for a dinner at a reasonable cost
S. H.
Great experience here. They were so good with my allergies. Went through everything with me. I had my own plate, knife and folk. I was super impressed
H. B.
Not been 4 a while. But did not disappoint. The food was lovely but thought it could of been a bit hotter. There was a good variety of meat and veg, and condiments. Was good to see the pub and restaurant was really busy. The staff were very polite. Will defo go again soon.. good value for money.
P. Q.
We've used this Toby carvery several times over the years and it's fairly good - but like most carverys much depends on how long the food has been standing
it was tasty though it could of been a little warmer but overall I
would recommend - it's a popular carvery and usually busy.
S. A.
Very friendly staff reasonably priced can’t say any more than that really nice food would definitely recommend it to others. My partner and I are visually impaired and they were very helpful and accommodating.
T. C.
Great staff and great food. Really good value. Would highly recommend.
A. M. F.
Wonderful carvery. Fast service, great surroundings and ideally situated and easy to find. There are 4 choices of meat or you can have a slice of all of them. Highly recommended.
D. N.
We went there for a change from their Carvery at Oulton. The Outside entrance lighting was not very good, not one member of staff wearing a mask, we were sat near a fan/air con and were cold a member of staff turned it off, I tried the beef again and turkey, I had it last week at oulton and found it to be the same as the week before at oulton, tough and chewy and more or less inedible and the cauliflower was hard, the turkey was fine apart from that the meal was ok
D. R. P.
Came with my blind partner, one of the best Carvery I’ve had for a long time. As we both blind staff very accommodating and helpful
Will definitely be booking again
Thank you
j. p.
Food very good reception person very helpful as where were sat conservatory with a window sill full of water moved us quicky and with no fuss excellent customer services
K. T.
Food was delicious but roasties were abit hard and turkey was a bit dry. But loved everything else the yorkshire puddings were lush
S. P.
Lovely but can't help feeling there are more interested in the delivery side now myself and a young mum was stood waiting to be served and 3 chefs were doing that side of things and we were just stood but food was nice 👍
F. P. P. S.
The buffet was not very clean, there were bits of food all over and the range of sauces was quite small. No cranberry sauce and very little apple sauce.
T. C.
You can't complain at the price but I'm going to anyway 😀 Two of the meat choices were down to the dried up nub of the joint but they wouldn't being out a new joint until some poor beggar ate it.
The turkey was very nice but I wanted beef or pork.
j. s.
Very nice food served pretty quick friendly polite staff loved the atmosphere and table service x
M. G.
We go regularly to this Harrogate Road Toby, the food is always lovely, and staff are really welcoming when we go in.
Well worth a visit.
L. H.
Toby Cauvery have some welcoming staff and to be honest amazing food and i totally recommend going here for a day out and it will be worth it!
P. W.
Food was awesome, great value for money. Left there well and truly stuffed.
D. D.
Nice , beautiful local pub! Decent quality of food
D. B.
Food very good as usual and unobtrusive service. Good value for money.
Y. H.
Always a lovely experience and staff go above and beyond.
Food excellent
T. B.
Seated quickly but had reserved ahead. Sunday standard carvery includes two very thin slices of meat and at £15 per head including one soft drink each is getting expensive. Unlimited veg including bubble & squeak...yum but no mushy peas! Not brilliant value I have to say but usual carvery fayre.
J. S.
Loved it all! Meat was great maybe a little dry but other than that a pretty standard roast. Don’t fill the survey in as you won’t get a reward after as it states. FALSE ADVERTISING
T. L.
Cool place. Beautiful setting and lovely breakfast
M. B.
Went with my partner for the first time, we really enjoyed it. Nice clean environment. Friendly staff. The food was absolutely delicious 😋. And the prices are very reasonable. We will definitely be going again.
R. B.
Easy booking. No waiting on arrival. Very friendly staff. Ease of paying through app.
n. h.
To say that I paid for the xl meal the chef was very tight with the meat he put on my plate
a. h. (. h.
Went today had the nicest carvery of my life and really nice ice-cream also the lady serving me was really nice good customer service is something that is really important to me I think it's something that just makes everyone feel better thanks Toby carvery.
R. F.
Went for a morning breakfast, staff were a bit dull. No service with a smile. The breakfast looked like it contained great sausages, what a disappointment, low meat content, turned to mush, one good thing was the amount of food you get and bottomless coffee. Eggs not runny, hash browns over cooked. One thing it really needed was a bit of tlc on the seasoning, try adding some herbs and pepper to the tomatoes and beans.
P. W.
Haven't been for a while but just as good as I remembered it. Food and service very good.
C. K.
Had dinner here with friends, everyone loved it, the food, service and staff were top notch! Thank you!
F. M. (.
Visiting in Leeds and decided on a Sunday roast here. Attentive service, decent servings, and good choice of veges and in a pleasant surrounding. Enjoyed it, and if I the area again, would certainly think of going back.
E. F.
First time in this place. All I can say is the food is excellent and the staff are too. If I'm ever in this area again, I will try my best to reserve a table again. Cant fault the place. Keep up the good work.
L. M.
Lovely food and very friendly helpful staff
Y. W.
Fabulous carvery, friendly staff and cosy feel pub. Highly recommended.
R. B.
Excellent food, lovely cosy atmosphere, polite staff
K. W.
Great place, lovely staff & lovely food. The bad points would have been having to wait to be seated to then only be told to seat ourselves in the bar as we hadn't book which was understandable. however we didn't have the process explained to us and was unsure where things were. we had to look look for things ourselves this could have been due to staff shortages.
D. B.
Lovely carvery but disappointing I can't use my Blue light card on a Saturday!
S. D.
Toby Carvery Chapel Allerton is my local so visit it often. The food is good old English fare and always fills the spot. Its reasonably priced and delicious. Staff are friendly and polite. Pop in if in the area I promise you you'll enjoy every morsel.
K. H.
Good service from friendly staff, deliciously cooked meat from the carvery, slick, modern decor that's up-to-date. Would go back there again and recommend it to others.
c. w.
Nice and quiet, well spaced out tables, plenty of choice of fresh veg and well done roasties
L. D.
We have been here about 3 times now and the food is absolutely top notch!
Friendly staff, nice atmosphere. The carvery is second to none. Love it here
S. G.
Our local carvery!
Always a lovely meal...not worth making a home roast anymore although my hubby still prefers mine...flattery 😉
I'd say my roasties are better but then I'm not cooking for the world and his wife, am I!
d. w.
Fantastic place for families or just two people brilliant Vibe and staff are fantastic
T. C.
Worth it for sure. Huge portions fresh veg and quality tasty dishes for a reasonable fee. I have to admit i was prejudiced before i went and thought it would
Be like restaurants i went to as a kid in the 80’s but the standard is great
J. M.
Great food good service and polite and respectful staff
L. T.
One of the best carveries I have ever been too. Excellent selection of meats and a fabulous choice of neverending veg and gravy. Spot on!
E. G.
Lovely food and very friendly helpful staff.
J.
Service was top notch, the lady that we first spoke to as well as the chef that hands out the food was great. Me and my family felt like they were very welcoming. Food was ok, lovely grilled mushrooms.
V. V. P.
Went for dinner on a Saturday and was absolutely great! Good service from the door host, the waitress and even the carver were extremely nice and friendly to talk to, plus, the food was really good for a very great price. Highly recommended!

Well kept beer .
M. C.
Been to a few carverys .this is a friendly atmosphere and nice food .went on a Saturday for the first time was quieter .Still better to book in advance. Would recommend 👍
N. T.
My local Toby carvery, Yorkshire puds too dry. But everything else perfect!
P. P. G.
The carvery is a great place to visit in the area for a good quality hearty roast dinner.
P. C.
We went for lunch today excellent service and food. Staff on the ball attending to anything we needed quickly and efficiently. Made our day today was our wedding anniversary. I managed a small pudding with my coffee My wife was delighted to be able to take a slice of fudge cake home to enjoy later. Next visit we will try the breakfast carn't wait. Would recommend highly to anyone.
M. T. M.
Nipped In, but staff all polite and friendly.
Just how it should be
A. l.
Me and my fiance had a lovely meal our waiter was very friendly and chatty
M. S.
The welcome was amazing by JP however the rude lady with blonde hair made us very uncomfortable especially when regular customer turned up.she said do you have a mask he said no so her reply was JUST SAY YOUR EXEMPT IF ANYONE ASKS...considering we were sat able to hear, my partner was dressed in his ambulance gear ready for shift. What idiot says this when we're in a pandemic. The food was nice but better coffee could be used. JP thank you but blonde lady your in the wrong industry
D. B.
Great food, lovely service
T. T.
Nice inside but the caravry was not so good the meat was fatty put more on one plate than the other bar staff great chef not so great
W. S.
Not the top end, but quite OK.
G. T.
A decent restaurant, much the same as any other Toby Carvery. Clean and well appointed. We went for the all you can eat breakfast. Sadly Covid means that you can only have 1 plate and it has to be served up by the person behind the counter. No return visits, so not exactly unlimited, if your a big breakfast fan like me.
Also, the breakfast range is greatly limited from its former glory. But sausage, bacon, Yorkshire pudding (for breakfast?) Beans, tomatoes and fried eggs make for a decent breakfast, so don't take my comments as a complaint just a fair description.
Friendly and helpful staff, following the current rules for social distancing, and the quality of the food is to the usual high Tobyy standard. Great value for money. I'll be back. 😊
P. S.
not bad bit pricey on the beers .
s. p.
Very busy but service was good. Our waitress was warm and friendly and upbeat. The carvery appears slower, some dishes not replenished quick enough. The roast potatoes a huge disappointment. Some of the potatoes have been roasted whole but turns out uncooked in the middle.
R. C.
No meat or dairy alternatives available although advertised.
T. C.
A wonderful lunch staff very friendly
A. T.
Almost always spot on.
Occasionally they do not keep their meats and their veg selections for the carvery topped up, and the turkey & beef can sometimes be dry... but the majority of the time the food and the service is top notch.
I always keep coming back!!
They do a good buffet breakfast too!
G. H.
An excellent meal with great service for my 3 year old daughters birthday. I would heartily recommend this restaurant to others.
K. S.
Decent food. We got sat next to a really loud family we asked to move and they moved us no problem. The lady that served us was lovely.
D. T.
The atmosphere and service is always very good
T. G.
Good social distancing in place, clean and not too busy. Carvery is "choose and tell the server", it's then handed to a waitress who follows you to your table, therfore "table service" - well thought out and very safe. Well done.
T. W.
Rocked up for an impromptu Sunday lunch with my husband and hungover stepdaughter who are both vegetarians. We wanted hot, fatty, salty stodgy food and we wanted it with as little fuss as possible. We got what we came for. It’s a very popular place where food is turned over quickly so it’s always fresh. Simple food cooked well. All the staff are friendly and fast. The price is pitched very well and the decor is up to date and fresh in relaxed/ comfort style. Ideal place for an unpretentious, relaxed Sunday lunch.
T. w.
I make a special treat now and then for me and my family to which we enjoy every visit. Spot on food. Staff brilliant 👏
A. C.
Amazing place where you can come with your family or friends. Very friendly staff, ready to help at any time. Food amazing.
S. C.
Wow food was spot on and excellent service and price
M. R.
Fantastic Meal here at this Toby Carvery, thought we had been to this one before but, we hadn't!! Meal was superb, meat was well cooked and we got good portions of it as well. Veg was very good as well! Service was excellent, Hayleigh looked after us brilliantly and nothing was too much trouble! We will definitely be coming back here!
P. D.
Visited today first time after the refurbishment and its really good. The staff excellent, the food quality great and the whole thing very reasonably priced. The Carvery vegetable standard brilliant and the chef's special (Butternut Squash in a garlic sauce) fantastic. I can see now why it can get so busy and just in case I would suggest you reserve a table. Would I go again?. Already planning it.
A. I. (.
Went to book for Christmas day lunch, but so busy was asked to phone in next day. We called back and they had given us the phone number and contact name. Spoke to a very nice lady called Jane, she booked our table for Christmas day, took our deposit and then said looking forward to seeing you again at Chrustmas. I thought that this was nice. Now looking forward to my Christmas day meal. The food looks very nice and presented well and smelled delicious.
J. B.
Lovely food and friendly helpful staff
B. C.
My first visit since the refurbishment which has been done very nicely, and the layout is better in the dining area and the servery area. Incredibly, the food tastes better too. Change of chef. It was good before but even better now, with potatoes with more flavour and veg given a little but of TLC to make them neither over cooked or hard as hell. A nice place offering super value for money but most of all is great friendly service, for, most of the time no tip. Well done all the staff.
R. M.
The meal was excellent though the bill was a bit high at nearly £80 for four people. The atmosphere was good and it was nice to be able to dine inside again.
J. T.
Delightful and reasonable and due to my medical condition I was allowed a child's size meal. Lovely staff too. Roll on next Friday! Been in since this review had to beg for a child's portion and the food was cold especially the cauliflower cheese which was hard as well. They seem to think I'm trying to get away with not paying for a full dinner but I'm not I just feel full quickly and although children's meals were £1 I paid the full price as I offered to. I don't want anything for nothing
P. W.
Cannot go wrong with Toby at Chapel Allerton. The staff were always welcoming. The food was great but like any Carvery place, if you are going when they are about to rotate the food then it is not its best. I have seen people commenting that they are tight with meet but for a fare review, we have always get big portion of the meat and if we think it is not enough then can ask the chef for more and they have never refused to top it up for you straight away. When the they are really busy and the food delays, they sometimes offer free drinks without us having to complaint so I find that thoughtful. After all we just love this place for a nice quick meal.
D. R.
Service good and staff friendly. Food is good, but, sometimes if not fast turnover it can be cool. Probably to be expected.
Extremely good value for money; and lovely venue!
As not Michelin Star restaurant shall give Toby Carvery four stars.
D. O.
Loved it staff so friendly made to feel very welcome lovely meal shame most deserts were off the menu
L. H.
Food was lovely. Haven't been there in a while but I enjoyed it. Definitely recommend.
S. c.
Always can rely on for a decent roast!
E. W.
Food was good just no mash
N. J. R.
The queensHarrogate road leeds , a large carvery style pub/ resturants. Used to be a great Tetly beers pub, now just a genetic brand Toby carvery, its ok and food offerings ok , OK kind of sums it up !
S. W. (.
Very friendly staff and tasty food
M. L.
Only called In for a beer. Place seems OK.
R. C.
We arrived without booking, seated fine, pleasant staff ,clean carvery, polite chef , nice carvery, yeah good.
S. A.
Had a good meal, not been for a while but would definitely be back.
M. S. M.
Love the carvery. Only one real ale, hoppy IPA.
V. T.
I ate the food before remembering to take a pic. Lush
M. H.
Basic Toby. Could be better if table service during covid restrictions actually worked. Would improve 100% if they had a word with locals with yappie dogs. Love dogs but constant barking just too much.
J. b.
Always a good atmosphere great staff and great food x
S. “. S.
Lovely carvery at lunch time today, staff very helpful. Good Covid precautions in place. Good value for money.
4 Sept 2021. Again a brilliant carvery today, brilliant choice of meat and vegetables. Good value. Staff very helpful. Thank you for a lovely meal.
C. M.
Great carvery and price, the staff here keep things topped up so nothing is ever empty for long and the refill drinks are a bargain if you're having a few soft drinks with your meal. The meat itself is very good and the gravy and roasts are great.
M. D. S.
I have always commended Toby's for the excellent food, Carvery especially. It is a lovely, quiet (can get louder in the afternoon) place to sit with the family and have a meal.
For smoking, you can go outside in the rear of the building where you can see the cricket ground, and if your lucky - when in season - you can watch them play for free.
Prices are fair for what you get, though some of the meats in the Carvery go quicker than others. The deserts are to die for. Yummy - if you spare space for any of them after a big meal.
D. T. M.
Reali enjoyed our visit to toby carvery . Nice and clean and the customer service was on point we will definitely be back 🙂
G.
I've had better experiences at this place, my last one wasn't the best, it will be a while before I go back, probably try somewhere else
R. F.
My favourite cavery lovely food always changing veg and other things to mix it up
K.
Always a good selection of reasonably priced food and meals. Bottomless soft drinks are always a plus for me, and I have never left the restaurant hungry. Always friendly staff, and quick service. Plenty of parking space, and easy to find in a taxi too which is always helpful. Will definitely return and would encourage anyone else to try at least once

I visited this carvery on Monday 23rd July at lunch time. The service to start with was a bit slow but I have nothing but praise for the waitress . I didn’t get her name unfortunately but I scalded my hand whilst getting some bread sauce which was very runny and boiling hot . It splashed over my hand. I asked the waitress if they had any cream to put on it and she immediately brought me a burn plaster. It worked marvellously. Thankyou so much for an enjoyable visit which could have been much worse. And the food was good too.
D. S.
Perfect portion of meat lovely tendy turkey moist beef lovely all veg minus sprouts you could eat perfect roast spuds chefs friendly all in all 10/ 10
c. b.
Definitely one of the better Toby carveries. Food was quite good but the roast potatoes could do with some seasoning and it wasn't hot hot but just ready to eat sort of temperature. (I know some people who are fickle about things like that).
Would go again.
C. C.
Came here recently with the family friendly staff lovely food but outside the it seems the food was getting taken over by bees
R. S.
Excellent service and staff, lovely restaurant and food. Far better than the EGO run cafes that are trying to be restaurants but in reality are just cheap and nasty. When I say cheap I don't mean the cost of a meal that is expensive compared to Toby.
R. K.
Good Food. Good drinks and Cheap!
M. S.
Very reasonably priced, staff and manager are very friendly. Will definitely be going again.
T. H.
🥩🥓🍳🦴🍲this is my absolute favourite place to eat as much as I can, I used to go here (before the plandemic) with my mates biggish and smallsie (you think their names are funny.... wait till you see em lol)
I’m an absolute meat head and a bit of a connorsher when it comes to gravy and let me tell you they do not disappoint, not one bit I usually pay for two plates so my veg doesn’t touch my meat and I like to take my time. (Little tip bring your own mug ☕️from home so that you can get extra gravy, stafff don’t seem to care)
I’m not usually a big fan of green food but I’ll even eat some of theirs (but mostly I just load up on potatoes🤣) as soon as my for hits the plate I’m in heaven and I’m not in hell till the next day 😉.
The tpilets are nice and roomy with lots of interesting local ads to browse while you have a wee and there’s lots of cool Toby jugs and paintings of famous foodies everywhere really gets me in the mood for food .
Only downside is the claw machine, biggish has a bit of a gambling addiction and we had to pull him away from it last time after he was 20 quid out of pocket mind!!
Overall a great laugh and delicious foods
P. S.
Fantastic Sunday carvery. Staff warm and friendly.
A. H.
Decent size place with ample seating and parking. The food has always been good when I've been and the staff have always been helpful and polite. Nothing negative to say or to complain about. I've been here several times before and will continue to go.
A. V.
We were late arrives so not much choice left, but the waitress was brilliant.
Your staff in general were pleasant and friendly
M. T.
Absolutely lovely staff. My four year old had an accident and they looked after us very well. Great atmos, food and beer.
A. L.
It is advised to book a table before arriving here. Once table booked, service was excellent from start to finish. Meat was cooked beautifully and the fresh Yorkshire puddings were a change from the usual cooked from frozen ones... Refillable drinks were a lovely addition too!
T. B.
Carvery was plentiful. Staff were pleasant and welcoming. Chefs had good banter on the line which I liked. The seating area is comfy and cosy. I understand that it has recently been refurbished...well I thought it is was lovely. Great value for money.
l. w.
Mine & my partner's go-to carvery. The breakfasts and carverys are always delicious. There's rarely a queue at the food station, and the food is always hot. They could perhaps improve the food slightly with more meat options. The chefs are not always too fast at replacing items at the carvery so there can be a little wait at times.
S. J.
Good service, nice carvery. Clean.
Could do with better airflow as it does get very warm
K. B.
Food didn't seem as good as I remembered on a recent visit - it lacked flavour and seasoning. We visited for our child's second birthday and she didn't seem to mind. The buffet approach is novel for toddlers and proved a good distraction.
K. F.
Food was only just warm and they're quite stingy with the meat portions.
Went at lunchtime on a Sunday which must be their busiest time because the service was slow, it was too noisy to hold a conversation and there were kids running around everywhere. One child almost ended up with a pile of plates on his head when he ran around a corner smack into a waitress coming the other way. You'd think they'd ask the parents to keep the kids under control but this level of chaos seemed to be the norm.
On a positive note though the staff are friendly and polite.
N. P.
great food and excellent service.
C. F.
Did not book a table but got our party of 3 seated straight away on a Saturday night. We ordered drinks and a starter but were told our starter was not available so went straight to the carvery. As we were being served the waitress came back to us and informed that they did have our starter. Excellent service and very good food. Three people with drinks starters and carvery all for £32. Very good value. Highly recommend. But would advice to book online as it was busy and think we got lucky.
T. h.
Having lived very close to the Toby carvery for over 2 years I had never visited before today. I can report that I was pleasantly surprised by todays evening carvery, it was delicious. Front of house staff were welcoming and serving staff were no nonsense. I intend to return for the exceptionally well priced breakfast.
D. W.
Unfortunately this experience was not as good as usual. There was too much pepper put in the mashed potato and burned my mouth.. horrible. The roast potatoes were all burnt and over cooked. The carrots were wet and soggy and the Yorkshire puddings were tasteless. One good thing was the really tasty new potatoes. My mum left most of her dinner very unusual .my mum and i went there on Tuesday Friday and Saturday of first week of October 2018 the food was delicious they had my favourite vegetable Swede we also had pigs in blankets. My mum not a big eater ate all her dinners plus pigs in blankets plus ice cream and a flake. Our favourite waitress is Caroline she is always helpful and makes a fuss of my mum who has dementia. Jane is always helpful too I love this place it's great xx.
K. B.
Food is normally of good quality with friendly staff. Would've been a 5* however I've been for breakfast before and over heard the Manager saying to other members of staff how the quality of clientele how massively decreased (this was in regards to a family who were there with their children).
R. S.
The best Toby Carvery in Leeds in my opinion. They're all supposed to be the same but this one has the edge due to its ambience, the very pleasant staff & the excellently prepared & presented carvery food.
One snag - it's getting so now you can't just decide to go on the spur of the moment you have to book.
T. G.
This was our ???? Visit ! Not a regular, but we have visited a few times a year for the past 20 years or so.
So..."Toby is what you get" and by that I mean they can be relied upon for quality and consistency. On this particular Sunday, we booked a carvery online, on that afternoon - very easy and convenient.
At 7.30pm it was busy but safe were great and attentive. Food was good, hot and fresh, although they had trouble keeping up with demand - so a15 minute wait was endured, but u understandable and I rather have a wait and fresh, than quick, cold and old.
Overall, ok, but better on quieter days / times :)
L. K.
Food was lovely, though I ordered a large wine I received a medium. Though it was fault of my own I didn't realise till after I drank some and could not prove.. when i was asked to check my bill and was charged for a large I mentioned that I actually received a medium but as I had already started my drink I couldn't prove it. Just an apology would of been sufficient but I received "Oh ok"this wasn't good enough. Food was delicious and venue is very nice. I will visit again but check my drink size before starting to drink.
A. H.
I just want to say I come to your carvery at least once a week and love it, your pub is very clean and a lovely atmosphere, the staff are always very pleasant, polite and very helpful, the only gripe I have is, and I've noticed this over the last couple of weeks is the meat, or lack of it on your plate!! By the time the chef has sliced it, it is just slithers on ur plate, which is a shame bcause your food is always lovely and hot and i really enjoy visiting you.
C. D.
Great service and luscious food!
K. N.
Not overwhelmed with the visit. It was very busy and we were placed at a table in an awful position near the kitchen and fire exit with people coming past constantly.
The food was ok, there was plenty of it, but not sure it was good value for money.
R. E.
Went following recent refurb and was very impressed its so much brighter and an even more enjoyable place to enjoy fantastic carvery with 4 meats and ace selection of veggies. The staff are always so friendly. We travel all the way from Harrogate just to have dinner here. Also love the app! Makes paying so simple and we got a 40% off voucher today. Thank you Toby carvery 😁
S. M.
Sunday lunch with my wife. The food was fantastic. The waitress very attentive without being intrusive. The guy carving(Carl I think) was extremely chatty, pleasant and seemed genuinely happy to be there.
Would recommend... We will be back.
J. F.
A Fantastic experience with top quality food. Also a comfortable and safe feeling environment in these times.
Y. W. L.
Good food and good value, what's not to like.
T. “. L.
Certainly a new experience in the queue with 52 Chinese students (virtually all of whom are in the queue in front of me) but everyone serving the carvery performed their role admirably and we were all served politely and quickly. Very impressed. Especially with the new take out option that I chose.
C. A.
This place is just consistently good, we've been to a few toby carverys and had issues on more than one occasion. Im sure all tobys must be given the same food by suppliers but theyre taste nowhere near as good as how they taste from this place, unusual for a chain. Hats off to the chefs. Service always decent too
J. M.
Food was absolutely brilliant as always, service was great girl that served us was brilliant with my grandson who is autistic. She went out of her way for him, that little touch goes a long way. A big Thank you. 100%.
r. g.
Very nice, 1 of the better toby carverys around leeds, freindley staff, clean & tidy,
P. M.
The carvery was acceptable in choice, however the cheese mac tasted burnt and the food was tepid not hot. More annoying was I paid for drinks on my card and have been charged twice for the one card transaction.
Not a wonderful experience.
V. H.
Always a good meal and excellent service.
L. S.
Was a little disappointing, we called and booked a table, was told the only time available was 12, arrived and was told we was booked for half one. Was seated but over two tables that were positioned awkwardly. This meant the celebration was very disjointed. The food was nice but we were left to our own devices so when the bill came there was errors. Such a shame as when we have had celebrations in the past we were always well looked after.
S.
Bit disappointed on this visit. I have give Toby 4 stars because it's normally fresh and good quality veg ect. This time the meat was good quality but the veg, peas, cauliflowers cheese, roast spuds had been sat there too long. Bit was a quiet early evening so I'm sure as the night got busier the veg would have a faster turnround. The plastic cutlery was so hot in the veg I had to use a napkin was a definate ouch moment when first touched.
Staff welcoming. Just had coke so not sure how the alcoholic beverage is.
I will go again but if its the same quality as my last visit it will be bye bye Toby..
t. w.
Very popular so it was very busy.the choice of food was good and a good range of meats on show, including Lamb.there is no size so it is one price for your meal.I think it was £7.95pp.plus drinks.
R. S.
Good food and great prices 👌 👍
R. R.
Went there with my girlfriend and it was already busy at 17:30. Great service, staff and food. We'll definitely be going back. Maybe on a Sunday to see how good the lamb is!
H. C.
Standard carvery, good range of veg. Staff range in terms of helpfulness, some were lovely and friendly whilst others were begrudging to help
M. R.
Breakfast wasnt great, lunches are decent on the carvery, there are better toby's in leeds to visit though.
D. O.
Average food quality, ran out of meat on the carvery at 6pm so left with a limited selection until the next joint was cooked. Vegetable selection was limited and tested frozen not fresh. Staff were accommodating and good wheelchair access to all areas of the bar & dining area
a. m.
Very nice pub and great food. A friendly staff always adds to a good experience.
I. L.
5star always for me😍😍😍😍😍Greatfood
I. S.
I had booked a table for 7 people for the Sunday breakfast. I was asked to pay when i arrived and I paid for all 7. 2 of my friends attended 5 mins after and were asked to pay. They were unaware that i had already paid. This is bad service. Even though i had booked and received a text to confirm, there was no table reserved and I and my colleagues had to move tables together. I felt the service was poor.
N.
Excellent Value!
The bigger carvery is worth the extra wonga... My wife piles her plate so high it affects the local gravity field!
Bottomless drinks and pleasant staff make this a regular dinner stop for us...
A. R.
Nice pub for quick good food. Carvery is well stocked with plenty of meats and the veggies always seem topped up and in good form. Staff were efficient and pleasant, good price, great meeting place with plenty of space. Would recommend.
L. M.
24th June 2018
Enjoyed the broccoli and brie parcel today, while my daughter enjoyed the carvery. Great place to come, I always enjoy the food here. Nicola was our waitress today and she was really friendly
D. H.
Pleasant atmosphere. Friendly staff. Hot and tasty meals. Excellent service. Safe environment with sanitiser at hand and distancing in place. Highly recommended 😊😊😊
B. B.
Worst day of the year so far for weather, but food was great & worth the trek.
J. L.
Toby Carvery today was brilliant. Didn't think me and 3 friends would be able to get a table as we hadn't pre booked, but we did. We all had carvery which was excellent . Lovely atmosphere . Staff where friendly and helpful. I would thoroughly recommend this place .
R. N.
Good well run and efficient. Meat choices good and of good quality. Choice of veg good. Only complaint was the vegetables are not kept hot enough on the carvery counter. Need to be kept much hotter in my opinion.
P. D.
Felt ripped off. The meal was nice just like it always is full stop however they had an offer on of 25% off if you had been there the week before. When we went to take up this offer we discovered that the fact that we had ice creams which we are normally a pound after a meal meant that we couldn't take up the original offer. As in all offers with these companies they do not tell you this in the small print.
M. B.
As far as a Toby carvery goes! It was lovely. Friendly staff. Enjoyed paying on the app and walking out, they way the staff look at you is just amazing! Expect what you would get from any other Toby and you will be just fine.
A. R.
Lovely place after the refit. Very welcoming and comfortable. Good value as well. Clean and hygienic. Large car parking with easy access for wheelchairs etc. Beer is good as well. Good wine selection andkids play facilities at the back as well.
S. W.
😷-up to the usual decent standard I have experienced with Toby Carveries
around the Uk 😋
G. J.
Nice and cousy, particularly since recent refurbishment. Good service. In rather irritating way slices of meat becoming not just thinner, but almost transparent - I do understand why, but cannot help being touch annoyed about it.
K. G.
Lovely place, polite accommodating , attentive staff. Lovely food.
P. S.
Great food. Except the potatoes could have a range and by range I mean sizes. They are all really big so loose the roasted flavour inside . Smaller ones are always yummiest. I'll be back next week hopefully they will.see this and chop smaller pots .
B. I.
A mediocre experience but it is a perfect example of you get what you pay for. Dry fatty meat, Flat Yorkshires, A good selection of overcooked veg. Condiments from a soup bowl stuck to the sides from being there while a hundred people slop it onto their overpiled plates trying to squeeze every penny they can out of the budget meal.
I did however win twenty quid out the bandit while we waited so in effect the food was free. Was it worth it? Probably not.
C. L.
This is great for good, cheap fodder. Haute cuisine it is not. Veg fresh but could be hotter. Meat quality and portion size good. Uninspiring but tasty food for the masses. Much better than McDonalds!
S. M.
The food was really good.
M. A.
This was the first time going to Toby Carvery the food was exceptional I had the king size carvery the service was impeccable the server was close by at all times so he could deal with any problems or to take our order.
I would definitely recommend going and will be making more trips there.
S. T.
Top food, top service, top staff and great value for breakfast. We'll definitely go again...
D. P.
Been twice to carvery, first time all the food really good, second time, veg's good but meat' s were drying out.
Staff were nice both times.
Will go back again as overall happy with food and staff and prices.
P. S.
If you like carvery's then you'll like this place although just going for a pint is a little boring. Staff are attentive and polite and the drinks are probably amongst the cheapest in Chapel Allerton. The restaurant is extremely dull and lacks atmosphere and the food is largely unappealing. One for true fans.
C. C.
Our waitress was Aimee. She was wonderful, giving advice and assistance. Was knowledgable and extremely helpful, and friendly. Helprd us with all aspects of our meal, which was a really good carvery of good quality, the beef in particular was excellent xnd enjoyed by all our party.
L. W. (.
Food was good but service just awful. Busy day, told we could sit in bar but not to expect any table service, thought fair enough especially as we were told we wouldn't find anywhere else to eat locally and had hungry kids. Waited at food counter for ages, nobody was in sight. Told 15 min wait for gammon and no roast potatoes?
E. H.
Delicious meal very attentive friendly staff and felt very self
M. H.
Very good value, nice food and a pretty pub. The staff were not rude as such, but they seemed rather disinterested and could certainly improve their professionalism.
L. G.
A must for anyone wanting good quality food and service. Absolutely lovely and clean.Friendly atmosphere and staff. Morning breakfast is one of best I ever had.
L.
Lovely food, loads of choice, great atmosphere, fantastic service and the best roast potatoes this side of Yorkshire 😁 Booked a table for a special occasion and was extremely impressed with the help to make sure everyone had a good time. 5 *'s for our waitress 👍
h.
I can take my son with special needs and be so well looked after.
Thank you Caroline and John Paul you are both amazing and all the staff are beautiful.
Good always hot and fresh.
M. D.
The meal was lovely. Staff were very attentive helpful but not in your face. I would recommend for a very enjoyable meal out
M. B.
Beautiful meal. Good serving staff. Very clean and covid safe. Would definitely recommend.
B. C.
Good quality carvery or menu selection. Always busy so good to book if you don’t want to wait. Plenty outdoor seating in good weather.
J. B.
Pork was excellent and good service lots of choice for vegetables some different from the normal ones
C. P.
Absolutely love it here go often the only problem I have had was my own fault left my phone on the table when I went to get meal and someone decided they want it like I say my fault won’t stop me going just wish they did more sprouts
I. M.
Always a good meal here and value for money. Sadly the roasties are never as perfect as in photos on the internet site and FB so a bit of digging is involved to get semi decent ones. The meat portions are at the discression of the carver but usually enough for me.
My other gripe is that the single glass pop price should be a lot less than the unlimited refill price because as it stands, most people take the unlimited choice (if asked...see below) and then just have one glass anyway. Good for the company but not the customer. Also the unlimited refill price seems to go on the bill by default. I can never remember being asked which I want.
Nothing I've said will stop me going but I'd just be happier if changes were made.
t. f.
Very very tasty food for a good price we go there often
S. E.
The food was delicious and the service in the dining area was outstanding but the carver was a bit rude after recommending we all came here to family who was visiting the country from America it was the only part of the dinner service that let it down ... how ever we expressed our feelings to the manager and she made up for the experience... but again can not fault the food
d. h.
Great food good atmosphere
J.
Nice place with a nice atmosphere. Too many babies & young children though. Meat was dry & a bit fatty. Great customer service. Live the decorations, style, etc.
s. h.
Good family pub great staff ,friendly atmosphere and a great place to enjoy a good meal
T. G.
Amazing as always . Good food . Very tidy place to eat. Never any complaints. Remember to look on 'vouchercodes^ for 40% off makes meal even better.
M. G.
Great carvery selection friendly staff. Lovely atmodtphere
G. R.
Super friendly staff, brilliant great value for money food, excellent drinks selection, suitable for, couples, groups, families or solo dining, the staff are always on hand and nothing is too much trouble. We'll worth a visit and you won't be disappointed.
A.
Toby breakfast...all the trimmings - all you can eat - served in a Yorkshire Pudding. For hungry travelers just passing through this offers a great start to your day fill up on sausage - egg and beans, cereal and toast all washed down with piping hot coffee or tea...yummy 😊😊
J. F.
Always enjoy the carvery. Good variety. Stuffing very dry and either under or overcooked - very dry! Staff and service great. Good disability arrangements.
J. S.
Good Home cooked food. You can pile it on, and boy, some people did. Got that "eyes bigger than belly thing" but value for money. Ice cream brownie thing nice, but melt very quickly. The Saute potatoes and pumpkin "del". If you want a Sunday off or treating family, get over to Toby. Remember can't use coupons on Sunday! It's in the small print.
S. M.
Good staff and excellent service and very helpful to all customers including those with disability I saw staff been very helpful to two blind laddies
L. M.
Food was great, tender yummy meats and good carvery selection. Kids desserts were good but the main desserts were pretty lacking.
L. D.
Nice food however as a vegetarian the broccoli and brie parcel could've been given more thought as there was room for improvement. Very nice staff and vibe
H. W.
Top class carvery. Aimee the waitress was really friendly and helpful. Showed us how to save money by using the Toby Carvery app. The food was good and plenty of it.
F. N.
Carvery was very nice. Would definitely go again.
P. L.
Visited a couple of weeks ago, staff are friendly (as with most Toby carvery). Food was great. Had a choice from 4 different roast. Great selection of veg.
c. j.
Love this place. It's advisable to book in advance as they get very busy especially on Sundays. Food is always lovely as are the staff. The price is fantastic. I visit here a lot.
K. H.
Great value and always fresh food, 4 Carvery Roast is the best and lots of vegetable choices which you can have as much as you want. Excellent service.
J. C.
Great family restaurant - good for a carvery and all you can eat breakfast. Kids and adults love it as there's something for everyone. Brilliant value for money.
S.
Not up to usual standard.carvery counter was a mess. and not as friendly as it used to be .the condiments container's left empty.not enough attention to detail .it seems to have all gone down hill from when it was refurbished.
K. P.
My little lad and Mrs live it here, the food is good not great imho but nice clean pub with really friendly staff. We go regularly so clearly they are doing something right.
a. t.
Would recomend this place the food was excellent and the service was amazing especially Jean pier I think his name was,was our daughters 14th and she needed cheering up and he cheered her up with her happy birthday ice cream so thank you very much for that
a. s.
Great place and food other than the French sounding guy who didn't have a clue what he was doing and thought he was exempt from social distancing while with a customer who they cut the que for
M.
Great for a Sunday carvery and all you can eat breakfast. Great value for the money great staff and a nice place to eat and meet friends and family. I would give five stars but it's the frozen veg that let's it down.
A. M.
Good food as always, the chef services to table is an effective way to keep the carvery experience while staying Covid secure.
S. D.
The service was good, the staff were nice. However, the food was disappointing despite the reasonable pricing and the place was not as clean as we would have liked.
J. S.
Went with a group and my son. Couldnt find a changing mat. So a group member asked a member of staff at the bar. The reply was we dont have one change on disabled toilet floor. Baring in mind our groups paying for about £300 worth of food and drink. Our group leader sees me changing son on floor and gets tokd whats going on. She asks another member of staff and theysaid theres one in the disabled toilet. Safely say we wont be taking a baby again any time soon.
R. B.
This might be the best place ever for a carvery. The staff are so friendly too. Great drinks menu! Good size portions.
N. Q.
Absolutely love this place. Staff are friends and welcoming.
They have a great vegan/vegetarian menu and the food tastes delicious
L. B.
Nice big Toby Carvery good for family meals only reason I didn't give it a 5 star is because beef ends up really chewy and over cooked but other than that I can't fault it. Very good enjoyable experience.
L. C.
Buffet breakfast which u serve yourself. Sausage, bacon, mushroom, tomato, beans, scrambled egg, fried egg, herb potatos and Yorkshire puddings! They also have a toaster with butter and jams. Very filling & a great price.
E. S.
Came two days ago. Could do with staff being a bit more friendly. The potatoes were cold altho nice. And the veg was too aldenti. Overall I left with a full belly lol. 👍🏾
J. W.
Good breakfast for the price , plenty of seating, and if your eggs are too snotty then the chief is only too happy to give it a right good basting. Staff very helpful.
J. J.
The place is tidy and clean. The waiters came prompt and were very friendly. Obviously the food was nice and food plus good attention are a winning combination.
J. B.
Lovely experience. Friendly staff. Food was lovely.
A. B.
Slow service let the evening down. However, food great value for money. Shame about the service or would have been 5 stars.
D. C.
Make sure you book a table if your planning to have your Sunday lunch here. The food is spot on as is the service. The only grumble I have is that the meat is cut very thin especially the beef🤨. Enjoy👍
D. V.
The food was great, could have been hotter but the staff were really friendly
M. B.
All good
D. S.
Amazing food. Always love going here!
M. J.
Well organised during the Covid-19 restrictions with only a few changes to the menu. Vegan and veggie options still available.
F. L.
Good food. Was not crowded at lunch times also you can help yourself to yorkshire puddings yeeyyyyyy i usually use oulton tobys but this one seems a lot better and the staff had time to make us feel welcome ty for a great lunch with my wife
j. l.
Yorkshire puds were a bit dry rest OK.
E. G.
Went for carvery as recommended unfortunately food was cold, but ate it all the same and didn't wish to complain at the time as it is a lovely place and possibly a 1 off x
J. E.
One of the best in Leeds no doubt - good service, food is always on point and the atmosphere is chilled! Nice for a quick feed or nice for a long stay!
B. A.
warm cosy environment with the opportunity to keep up to date with sporting news if you want. Nice variety to create full english breakfast everytime. Cant go wrong. Only giving 4 stars and bot five bexuase the recipe for the hash seems ro have xhanged and didnt enjoy it like i used to. 😆
K. I.
We went to eat around five something and the staff gave us one hour. Good enough. We had two Carveries. Very nice.
L. H.
Great atmosphere, price and pints
P. M.
It's a Toby carvery...it's quick, efficient, service is smiley. Meat's a bit tough and the veg is a bit meh. But no better or worse than any other chain-pub carvery.
D. L.
We are regular visitors to this carvery, food is always fresh, hot and really enjoyable, they also have special offers from time to time.Well worth a visit.
J. R.
Food was nice. Staff were great. Decor is becoming a bit shabby and my wine glass was filthy. Enjoyed our visit all the same
l. J.
Really tasty carvery and generous portions of meat which is unusual in my experience of different areas. Staff polite and welcoming
M. L.
Cheap, honest, abundant food served from a surprisingly fresh carvery.
J. G.
super food...the staff are lovely and friendly service especially for safe dining at the troubling time..
D. A. T.
Really nice food as you would expect from Toby's. Service kinda depends on whether it's busy or not. It's best to reserve a table online before you go.
P. M.
As per normal out time here was great, the staff where very attentive as per, the food was good, we enjoy coming here and would recommend it all our friends
R. B.
Good food and very reasonable price. I have found the staff to be a little snappy at times though.

Nice dinners. Served by the cheerful jean-paul. Merci!

Very nice food and atmosphere. But there wasn't enough vegetable opinions and they could also do a chicken option at the carvery.

Good when it's busy (weekends) although there's a bit of a wait. Avoid the carvery on weekday evenings though... It sits there all day and tastes horrible and chewy.

The food was good, roast potatoes were the only let down- far to dry and tasteless.
Staff were rude and not welcoming atall!

10/10, would enjoy being attended to by a diminutive Kier Starmer-alike again.

I mean it's Toby's. Not great but not bad.

The service varies depending on the day, and the choices vary depending on the time (want gamon on a Sunday? Go after 7pm. But the food is still good and it's cheap

I had to suddenly leave. Had a full plate of food at the table. Dealt with a problem and when I got back they told me I could have a fresh plate of scran. Very courteous & much obliged!

Standard Toby carvery. Was alright but nothing special! You can have a nicer roast dinner at home if you ask me.

I can only speak for the breakfast as that's all I've had there but we'll worth the money, went back for the carvery on a Saturday afternoon and the food was lovely 👍
