We went here for the first time after its refurb. I'm not exactly sure where the £250,000 has been spent, but the place still looked a little tired. Unfortunately the food was not that spectacular. My mixed grill was missing the chicken and the "skinny" steak still came out for chips. That said, the waiting staff were quick to correct the issues and were very accommodating.

A Mixed bag... but no mixed grill!! Wife had booked us into the soft opening today. The front of house staff were amazing, however the food was not up to scratch. The new decor looks brighter and fresher. The dog friendly area is a nice touch for the dog-loving community, especially as there are a lot of walkers around and during wet weather could add some shelter and extra revenue. We were served by Jack and Ezme, amazing duo and was Jack's first day. After his nerves had settled and he got into conversation he was a really palatable fellow. When asked how aged the steak was (as on the menu it just said "aged") he didn't know the answer, but used initiative to get the answer (28 day on rump for those who are curious). Starters were very good. Brie dippers worked really well with the amazing red onion chutney. Much better than mozzarella as the melting point of this cheese means it doesn't become a tough, stringy mess (take note Maccies). Chicken in buttermilk was very moist, yet thoroughly cooked. Only issue was salad wilting slightly due to being left on the pass Wife ordered surf and turf with peppercorn sauce. I had a mixed grill with a bourbon BBQ sauce. Now the problems started... Almost 40mins after starters were finished we were presented with our plates. The wife's peppercorn sauce had turned into a sauce dianne (that wasn't on the menu at all). My 28 day rump was overcooked into well done. Both plates sent back. Attempt number 2. Wife's 8oz steak had 2oz (roughly) of fat after cooking. My rump came even more cooked and drier than before. The egg was medium-rare however. On this 2nd attempt the portobello mushrooms had vanished (and weren't cooked very well the first time around). After a short meeting with Ezme and the representative of Marsdens we discussed the issues. All drinks and meals comped and we took away a desert, which was a delicious and nice touch. Our points made to staff were quite small. The main point being meat station relaxing and enjoying the cook. We understand the pressures of new staff and new decor. Hopefully the soft opening was a learning curve, especially as they probably didn't expect a couple of critics walking in. The wait time for others also seemed excessively long, and we overheard others complaining. There was also other tables not served food at the same time. At about 40% capacity they seemed to struggle after half an hour. I just hope in the coming weeks they can pull together and iron out any issues. We will hopefully return in the future to see improvement 👍

The manor is looking fantastic since the refurb! I have visited the manor twice recently, once as part of a large group and once with a friend. I ordered a sirloin steak when I visited with the large group and it was extremely tough and unappetising. I presume this was due to the large amount of food ordered in one go. On the second time I ordered a burger and it was fantastic! A bit disappointed it no longer comes with onion rings though! Both times we were served by Esme and she was a fantastic waitress! Polite, helpful and an all round fantastic member of staff! 👏🏻

I had a great time here today. Started off with some lovely brie dippers as a starter, took advantage of the 2 stakes and a bottle of wine for £25 on Thursdays offer, and ended off with a rocky road sundae. Esme our server was quick, very polite and helpful. The food came out well presented and tasted nice, and as an added bonus came in good time too!

After not visiting for a number of years it was a welcoming return, from the easy booking of the table online, a nice friendly welcome on walking through the door, quick service for both food and drinks with such friendly attentive but not imposing staff. Esme, was a great asset to the restaurant. In addition a great selection of vegetarian meals in the menu which don’t assume your vegan or just want a salad. We’ll definitely be back soon.

We've just had a delicious meal at the newly refurbished Manor, Glen Parva. The decor is fresh, modern and tasteful, all the staff were extremely welcoming, especially Esme, Wilson and Jack. The Sunday roast was tasty, best Yorkshire's ever, so light. We really enjoyed our visit and will be back soon.

First time visiting after the renovations. So so better! Lighter, airy feel to the place, and the little things like the board games available for use are all showing how much thought has gone into the place. The food was really nice, infact the steak was outstanding. THE best steak I've had in years. The staff are all attentive and on hand if there's any questions. Big shout out to Esme, who served us, and went above and beyond at all times. Great to see that a pub that was pretty good before is now really good. Looking forward to going more often now.

Lovely building, plenty of parking, wheelchair accessible. Good menu with plenty of choice. My meal wasn't very hot when I last visited (27th Dec). Specials menu didn't show that lunch meals were two for the price of one. I wouldn't pay the full quoted price for the meal I had

The launch day was brilliant, the staff who greeted us and served us were fantastic. We came for the paw patrol eat and meet and my son loved it! The food was piping hot and really nice no complaints at all. He also has allergies and the kitchen and staff were very accommodating.The place looks really fresh and modern wel definitely come back!

Came for lunch with children. All staff were calm and spoke to the kids to make it more enjoyable for them. After asking for recommendations on food from staff our server Macey advised the southern ultimate burger…… she was spot on, desserts she did it again. Great food. Highly recommend it. Macey did amazing and would return again just for the service we received let alone the food!!!

Have been a regular visitor for years but unfortunately out visit on Saturday was one of the worst we have had there. A starter, desert and part of our main meal which we wanted was not available which I guess was due to it being extremely busy but disappointing on our part. We sat near two very noisy parties, just wanted a quiet night out but maybe that was our fault for picking such a large pub / restaurant. The decor was very nice and full stars to the staff who we can't fault.

Good has improved massively since the refurb. Our server George went above and beyond to ensure our needs were met. However the ladies toilets were extremely dirty and unhygienic, the cubicle I visited had no toilet roll and a used sanitary towel on the disposal bin. The toilet was filthy with feces on the seat and the pan !

The new decor looks amazing. Excellent food and service. All the staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient. We will be back many times I’m sure. Thank you

We visited for our dinner and to come and see the entertainment Steve Sinatra. the lady who served us was polit and friendly. The singer was amazing such a good male vocalist hit all them high notes he took request and kept everyone entertained. He involved the audience. First visit since the refurbishment, and whilst the removal of the wall was a nice touch not alot has changed. when it came to the food we was sadly dissapointed, no 2 for 1 which is what made the manor our go to and when we asked about it the waitress said instead the food is a little cheaper and better quality. this wasn't the case food had to be redone which meant us all eating at different times and whennit comes to cooking a steak you might as well have not asked how we would like it. however the staff was very friendly and most helpful and the atmosphere was good. in conclusion, its time to try somewhere else 😞

We have been regulars here for years. Often visiting 4-5 times a month. We understand the pressure pubs have been under over the last couple of years but the decline here is very obvious. Tonight we returned two sirloin steaks which absolutely stunk. We didn't even try them. The last time we ordered steak here it was so poor the waitress informed us everyone had complained and a replacement would be just as bad. I just think that's awful, you know it's bad but serve it anyway. The manager seriously needs to look at the £7+ cheeseboard too which was embarrassing. Even the ale tastes like quick cask, not what we should expect at premium ale prices. A real shame as we used to love it here.

We used the Glen parva Manor to celebrate the life of Barbara Anderson after her funeral service. The staff were extremely attentive and ensured we were all catered for from the beginning of our visit and until we left... even asking if we had a blue light badge to give us discount. The refurbished Glen Parva Manor is stunning. I’d have been happy to sit at any table but in front of the fire in the snug was lovely. Great atmosphere, attentive food service from Faith (Brie dippers super tasty and crispy and the Chicken Roast had a great yorkshire, veg, red cabbage and roasties) Drinks served by George were perfect and very well put together. All service was prompt, and our extra requests all accommodated. Looking forward to returning soon, thank you!

We went here for an afternoon lunch. The building is really attractive, and it is in a nice setting off of the road. There is some outside seating and a children's play area. The menu is a two for one style, and they also have daily specials. The quality and quantity of the food is really good assuming you do two for one - couldn't fault it.

Its the perfect pub in my view however it would be nice to have music or a duke box down there as there was music on outside but i couldnt hear it inside. I've come here a couple of times with friends now. The staff are friendly, although could have some training with drinks(didn't know what a stout was). It's set in a nice, historic building, and has a large spacious garden. It's got a play area, so it's good for kids, and both times I've been there, there's been families enjoying themselves.

We have been going to the Manor for years as a cheap and cheerful meal with the family or friends. This is the first time for a while though since lockdowns and what not and have to say I was a little disappointed. For whatever reason some of the prices have shot up, over £18 for fish and chips? Kids play area they have a closed off but for younger children and an open bit for older children. Great selection on food all main courses are 2 for £10 and they have certain deals for certain days too. Tables are separated nicely so theres enough room to put hghchairs on or just feel you have that extra privacy. Staff are lovely and welcoming too. My only disappointment is that I've not visited this pub sooner!

We visited the Manor tonight as we had been before in the past and enjoyed it. In my honest opinion the place has gone downhill, it looks tired and in need of a spruce up. One of my pet hates is sticky tables, and ours was sticky, - the menu also had something sticky stuck to it... - Maybe they should wipe over the menus and tables a little more often? The staff were pleasant and attentive, but there were not enough of them to serve the customers quickly and efficiently, and this was reflected in the long waiting time for drinks and courses to be served. (When the main arrived, we also had to ask for some cutlery as none was supplied upon ordering.) We couldn't fault the food, it was tasty and well presented, however I did think the portion sizes had been reduced since our last visit. - Come on Manor, I'm sure you could do just a little bit better.
