Burger and drink Tuesday, what a burger it was! Absolutely epic. I used to go regularly when I was working at one of the student accomodations near by so it was good to see the manager still there. Back to the food, I ordered cheeseburger with double patty's, (you can have up to 4!!) Added bacon. Having been unimpressed with burgers - I had not eaten a pub burger in about a year, this was one of the best burgers I've eaten in a long long long time. The wings unfortunately were either overcooked or reheated, we ordered two different ones but both had the same overcooked / reheated taste. Won't be ordering them again any time soon. Atmosphere is always fantastic in this place, they have a pool table too! Looking forward to trying new dishes, see you again soon Bowling Green. (Watch this space, for more pics)

A really pleasant visit. I was served by the super friendly and helpful Maxine, who laughed and joked with me and made conversation which was nice since I was sitting solo. The food was hot, served quickly and as I’d expect for local pub grub and not overpriced. The pub atmosphere is cosy & rustic, with low beamed ceilings, tastefully painted walls and lots of books and crannies for seating. I would definitely return during a lunch hour.

Great pub and a real tardis once inside but still with a cosy and welcoming feel. Amazing selection of drinks offers and good food. Lots of TVs to show multiple sports and a lovely outside courtyard, a rarity in a city centre. A really good atmosphere and the staff are all friendly and chatty.

So this place yh its bad boy, no joke I'm not a comedian yh so there's no jokes coming. A bartender called Shezra (not related) was like "yo come here for a drink..." I was like " I dunno." But he was like "nar trust me you gotta come here." So I went there and I was like "why you bring me here???'" little did I know that it's a hidden gem, I'm being honest Indiana Jones couldn't find this gem and his all about finding stuff. Like stuff that melts your face, to this day I've never found the covenant... In other words this place is pretty nice would definitely go again.

Best pub I've been in, great food, great service and great servers. Amazing price and amazing food. Will always be my favourite pub. Good array of beer and the best deals. 10/10 would recommend. Edit: Just wanted to continue on with what I was saying, further along the line. Still a fantastic pub and my first choice whenever I go out for food, or drink. 2 for 1 cocktails are always a killer, ranging from £5.49. Food is amazing for the price and staff are always welcoming. Recommended to anyone looking for a nice quiet pub in Leicester.

The bowling green - cozy and warm place . Nice to hang out with friends . Tasty pies , and friendly staff . Just off the main road , so parking can be a problem . Monday evenings is a good time to try out their range of pies - coz it's cheaper than on other days .

A wonderful pub, friendly staff and an excellent choice of beers, ciders and gins. The pub has a warm friendly atmosphere. I went to meet family and friends before a Leicester city game. We sat outside in the beer garden and had a few beers. Lots of TV screens to watch live sport on. I will definitely be going back and trying the food, it looked and smelt delicious.

Relatively nice student pub. Seconds away from the DMU campus, fantastic staff, a comfortable and cozy place for catching up with friends. However, prices could be lower due to students being the dominant customer group.

This pub is lovely, it's close enough to the centre of town to nip in for a drink or food whilst you're there. The interior is nice and we loved the idea of individual tv"s at some tables which were showing the football that was also on the bigger TV. The food menu looked nice and was reasonably priced so we will be back to eat next time we visit which will be soon. I only nipped in whilst my car was in the garage nearby and was so glad I did. The staff were also nice, polite & friendly which is something that always gives me a great impression of a place and helps me decide whether I want to go back. If you're in the centre or near the University or LRI I'd definitely recommend The Bowling Green

There's always a great selection of ales, which automatically increases the star count of anywhere I review! Very reasonably priced food with offers that change daily. Moderately sized and well-kept courtyard, my only gripe being that there's not quite enough shelter from the rain. Brilliant atmosphere when there's sport on the telly and there are enough screens that you can see one from pretty much anywhere.

Went to the bowling green Friday and Saturday we were looked after very well by all the staff food great there was a big group of us a table was reserved for us on the Saturday all staff really friendly and very helpful can't remember all staffs names but the were all great Bea was fantastic thanks to you all table booked now for every home match when Leicester play after the game thanks again to you all look forward to next time

I came with work colleague friends for our work Christmas meal in the evening. The pub was moderately busy when we arrived. The spacious area we had originally specified we wanted our pre-booked meal to be located in had to be changed after a water pipe took the part of the ceiling down so we were put into a more compact area than we would have liked but needs must! The service and the food made-up for that as we were quickly served hot food and the empty dishes swiftly removed between courses. The turkey was moist and tender whilst my friend (a foodie) who had the 35 day aged 10oz rump steak said it was the best steak he'd ever eaten!! The desserts were terrific. This pub gives a 10% discount on CAMRA cards so the good range of Real Ales were enjoyed by us all in addition to the good wine that came with the meal.

The Bowling Green is a brilliant pub with a cosy atmosphere and accommodating and welcoming staff. It has a seasonal decor that is complimented by music and television for sports. The selection of alcoholic drinks ranges from beer to wines to spirits as well as non-alcoholic drinks for the early day. The prices are standard for a pub in the city and even more so for students that opt to purchase a student saver card. The Bowling Green also provides deals for every day of the week that are usually discounted from the regular menu and come with a drink. Being a student myself it is most convenient for a pint and something to eat just before I venture to another lecture, or as the local for whenever I and my friends fancy a pint and a game of pool. Members of staff in particular all hold great attributes. Liz always makes sure I'm up to date on the daily deals and Viki even offers me table service when I'm ready for another pint and Beth, also known as Bethneh! Always makes sure if I have a student saver to make sure I get a good deal. The quality of the place and the staff running it deserve a full 5 stars.

Decent ale (with a discount for CAMRA members, always a bonus) and decent food, I had the large mixed grill and the meat was excellent however the eggs and baked beans were a bit over-done, might be because I asked for the steak to be well done they thought they'd do the lot that way lol. Only a fifteen minute walk from the Leicester City ground (and the Holiday In where we stayed the night).
