We visited The Cedars for Father's Day we were a party of 5. Greeted by Karl we were served very quickly and our table, that had been pre booked, was ready for us. We all had different dishes but I must say that the meats were plentiful, hot, well cooked and tasted delicious. The staff worked very hard on such a busy night. We will be returning pretty soon. Highly recommended 👌

We use the cedars usually when we have a family birthday. We always come back because we know that the food is always beautiful and tonight was no exception! Always had a great meal here.Tonight we were advised the food may arrive a little late as there was only one chef working.The food was bought out quickly,all together(table of 10) hot and all steaks cooked to perfection!! Fantastic service ,well done !! Keep up the good work 👏

friendly service and its quite clean in the food area but carpet is coming up in the ladies toilets I did tell them about it some time ago but nothing seems to been done its a safety issue as could quite easily trip over the carpet on the way in and it wouldn't take much to sort it out they could quite easily glue it back down or take the carpet up and lay tiles down or some other floor covering apart from that the toilets are quite clean considered its a very old pub but landlords are doing a great job in maintaining the place so 10/ 10 to them both and I will return when I'm next in Leicester

The food was pleasant, good quality pub grub. My Mum's steak melted in the mouth and the portions are large. Would like the waiting team to be a bit more polite and a bit more enthusiastic. Having been a waitress myself I would've never taken a person's plate without explicitly asking if they were finished and just little touches like that. But overall would happily go back and recommend to others. There's a nice large coy carp pond and lovely beer garden. However the carpet is not wheelchair friendly as it's COVERED in pot holes. Overall a nice family friendly pub with great puddings.

Lovely setting in the garden, good atmosphere. Great food. Luckily for us it was dog friendly so we could take our lady friend into the bar and garden area. I would rate higher but as we were sat in the garden area, and to be fair the order we placed the requests were not listened to and order was wrong, but because we waited so long for food we didn't bother complaining as we also had a 2 year old guest who was getting agitated. I would rate higher again if service is better and staff listen and and behave a bit less robotic, maybe the job wouldn't be so bad. Everyone loves a bubbly waiter/ waitress.

Lovely setting and good traditional menu. My picky son was disappointed that there was no option for non-spicy chicken burger (2 kids burgers apparently wasn't good enough!) But the rest of us were very happy. Beer was very drinkable.

The Cedars is a lovely spacious and Historic characterful pub we popped in for a drink before picking up a Takeaway from the Main Street (Our Lockdown Routine) !! but on looking at the Pub menu couldnt resist trying out some of the fayre on offer Dad had the Sizzling Beef Fajitas I had the Superman mixed grill (only £10.99 !!) And my partner had Haloumi Cheese and fryed Prawns plus Garlic bread and coleslaw We absolutely loved the food and must admit not to eating here for ages because it was always tied to a big Pub Chain however the King Henry Taverns are a small local chain who have definitely got a winning formula !! Will definitely visit again !!

I usually come here with 4-5 family members ranging from 14 to 70 years old. The tables are a nice distance away from others allowing conversation to flow without interruption. The food quality depends on what you order; I usually go with a steak which is always cooked beautifully. We usually come at about 6pm which happens to be happy hour so drinks are very cheap making it quite easy to lose track of time! Overall a nice place with a great atmosphere and good food.

Pretty great food and good value. Nice environment/atmosphere, including a pond with big fish in that you can see through the windows close up. Fairly quick service. Fajita came as a tray of ingredients and wraps to assemble, very nice presentation if you like that, they brough the chicken and veg over in a platter still sizzling vigorously.

A little disappointed that there was no Sunday lunch on offer but soon was happy that the Fish Pie was to die for ! A really generous dish and served piping hot ! We were also tempted to have the sponge and custard as a desert because we were near the window and it looked cold outside and we needed stoking up to go back out in it :( will definitely go again! :)

It's had its ups and downs over the years but my recent visit indicates that The Cedars is set to become the go to pub in Evington once more. Friendly staff and good quality no nonsense pub food at an affordable price make it a good choice any day of the week. Its new manager is promising to make some adventurous improvements in the near future. Watch this space.

This is one of the best pubs I've visited. For starters, it's a beautiful building with lovely surrounds and ample parking. Food was reasonably priced, good quality and served in timely fashion, ordering on phone app was handy. The garden was very nice, we stayed out till things got chilly. Inside we had desert and relaxed in a nice atmosphere.This is a pub that you could happily treat like your own hangout all day long. We will return.

Good cheap pub food, kids eat for a £1 off kiddie menu, our kids had the burger chips n peas, and the pizza and chips which they seemed to enjoy. They have a menu for under a fiver for lighter appetites(ideal for the older kids/lite bites etc, our 10 yr old had the macaroni and garlic bread which was was nice, but main menu is good for an average appetite. Go large if u hungry. Garden is large for families on nice days, plenty of seats in side, drinks prices are reasonable too. Food service is good. I had half roast chicken with peas and chips, side of gravy, chicken was a little on scrawny side and a bit over cooked, but ok. The salmon n new potatoes looked nice. Had to queue to order food and drinks but it was a sunny bank holiday. Overall, not bad.

Had my my 9 year olds birthday dinner here. Table booked. The decor and surroundings were lovely. The staff were very accommodating and helpful. The menu is extensive and really good value. 7 people mains plus some desserts, some drinks and a free bottle of wine. Just over £10 per head. Will definitely be going back.

The lady who served me behind the bar was lovely and her customer service was very good. My friend who was with us had appalling service from who I think was the manager! We spent around £45 each couple and it clearly says on the menu that you get a free bottle of house wine.I was offered mine but my friend had to ask for his.He was then told very abruptly by the bar man you have to ask for it! The bar lady said no they just get it and he then argued the point with her in front of us. The food came and there was something missing from each order,this was quickly resolved and the waiter was very apologetic. I ordered a Toffee dream Delight and it came minus the chocolate sauce.I think the cooks need to know their menu. Hence only giving 3 stars.

The Cedars is becoming a fantastic family pub. More events, pool table, large screen TV is making it a "place to be", exorcising the 'old man pub' that it was getting a bit of a reputation for. Dog friendly lounge and garden, just a lovely chill place to be.

Go there often and normally its fine, but yesterday we went with a large group and the food was all dried up (apart from the chips) and the bar man was abrupt and grumpy. If we hadn't been there before, we wouldn't be going again!

Had a fabulous meal at the cedars. That said I was disappointed with the following: The temperature in the pub was chilly owing to the fact that the door at the rear of the pub was open allowing children to run in and out of pub. It seems to me that these days parents are incapable of keeping their children under control. As well as spoiling our meal with their constant noise we watched children dangerously sitting on the wall next to a pond displaying a warning of deep water. It seems that there is a need for someone on the staff to ensure that parents supervise their children in the pub garden. It is not enough to just display the notice that says that children should be supervised. Will it take a tragedy to get this message across!

I went here on Sunday for a family meal. My grandmother is quite frail and finds steps incredibly difficult, but there was no way to avoid them. There are steps to get into the building, then a couple more down to the bar. We then had to sit by the bar as the restaurant area has so many additional steps, and it wouldn't have been fair making her walk that distance. I understand it's a pub, not a restaurant, but I still believe they should have a readily available allergy menu. There should be one online. It was ridiculously busy when we went in, and there was no way to get the attention of the girl behind the bar when she always had 6 people queued up. Most of the food was enjoyed thoroughly, my only complaint being that my chips were extremely dry and clearly overcooked. But from what I gathered they had just had a rather large party order at the same time as us (there were at least 10 adults, and quite a few children), so I can forgive that.
