Reviews of The Corn Exchange - JD Wetherspoon
A. S.
I eat breakfast in many Wetherspoons all over the UK and I have to say this one was cooked to perfection. Even though you would have thought all wetherspoons breakfasts would be the same they are not, normally something isn’t quite cooked right, but at this one every item was perfection.
It’s quite a large pub with mezzanine floor, looks like it a popular place at night.
If you want a perfect breakie then I would highly recommend this Wetherspoons for it.
O. C.
A lovely building, staff attentive. BUT one of the smallest servings of roast vegetables I've ever seen. I have family that work with Wetherspoon, I know how the roasted veg is portioned out, this portion was adjusted to be criminally small ...
J. H.
What a lovely place to visit, and thanks for the lovely atmosphere of all pictures very interesting. Enjoy your experience like we have.
B. J. W.
My family comes here a few times a year and it's always been packed, even during weekdays. The food serving times are longer than average because of this, however, the food is up to a good standard. The place is always clean, the staff are friendly and the toilets are cleaned regularly.
The venue is accessable for those with mobility issues if you are able to snag a table on the ground floor. However, I would not recommend this place for people with sensory issues due to noise, unless you are able to go upstairs, where it is much quieter, or there is less people around between busy times.
N. E.
Not been in a while, the food was very nice, quick service, ordered through the app which is very easy.
Also friends enjoyed the 2 cocktail pitchers for £13. It was also nice and quiet (Sunday around 7pm). One thing I would say is the toilets were a little smelly. Overall good experience.
P. T.
Excellent service with cheap beer.
Bit crowded at times but ordering from the table using the app made the experience a lot better than hanging round a bar trying to get served. Only gripe was the real ale was super chilled which I am not a fan of. Real ale should be cask temperature not lager chilled. That’s why only the 4 stars.
The staff were excellent and friendly.
S. S. (. V.
Cheap and best place to chill out. Staff was very professional and courteous
D. C. (. C.
Good value for money, staff were pleasant and food was served quite quickly. Unfortunately toilets let them down yet again - no hand soap, broken door catches and water on the floor in the ladies and my husband gave a similar view about the gents.
C. M.
Typical tasty Weatherspoons food that camt be faulted. Usual good selection of drinks. Pay/order at table. Friendly staff. Clientele are reflected by the demographics of the area. Wouldn't go back - but that is due to the customers not weatherspoons
G. B.
First time here. As ever food good and good price. Foh very attentive as ever its just a shame it was invaded by rowdy football fans and when customers have children it's not nice to have grown men swearing and shouting. Had we heard it sooner we would have gone to the Priory hence the 3 stars
G. G.
Cheap pub. Decent food and prices. Staff are friendly. Average really but good for a quick drink or cheap lunch.
M. N.
Ok food. Table not wiped till we asked. Popular place. Clean loos. Friendly staff. Busy Saturday lunch crowd.
M. H.
Ordered food and drinks from app. Food was prompt, bit drinks were slow. Apart from that, top notch food and good ale.
J. P.
Good place for a quick drink and reasonable priced food but can get busy on game days.
N. J.
Nice spoons right in the city centre. Quite large with upstairs tables. Service quite quick and friendly. Food the standard you expect from spoons. ... Decent without being great.
J. G. (.
Food was not great this day. Burger was black and charred. Breakfast is much better than lunch menu. Place is clean and tidy.
G. W.
Positives:
food service was quick and tasty,
Negatives:
A female member of Staff was rude when she got the order wrong!
Difficult to know if venue is open as the main doors are shut and no signs to tell you to go to other doors,
D. B.
Good food and good drinks, fast service but could get some more seats and will that fitty upstairs come serve my drinks so I can ask for her snap possibly, I mean I don’t ask for much this is just a one off
D. S.
A very nice place meal was ok
Had better but I've had massive worse on the whole though we enjoyed the place pleasant staff
A. P.
Amazing place. The best chips and fish in the world.
And the breakfast? It's heaven.
D. B. (. D.
My brief visit to Leicester was extended thanks to going for a quick drink with a friends in this bar, friendly atmosphere good service, a definite place to go for food and drink…..a venue where you can easily make new friends
J. C.
This is a very easy place to find due to it proximity to the market, which is fixed stalls. The building itself dates back to 1850 so has history. It is a great building for a pub plenty of character as does a lot of Wetherspoons. It had a good crowd in at 9.00 when we were in, really busy. There is seating outside next to the market and a lot of indoor seating on different levels. The toilets are on the ground floor for a change. At night some of the tables and chairs make way for a dance floor giving it a different vibe on an evening. The service was spot on whatever time I went in.
T. B.
Another great spoons, the building is superb, food and drink always worth the money. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone.
s. s.
Great service and great prices served food but I didn't eat not been in there for over 30 years
S. B.
Very slow on serving table service ordered drinks and food at the same time had to wait 25 mins for our drinks and another 15mins for our burnt meals
The pub wasn't that busy either
Strange the meat was burnt but our chips was cold?
S. R.
Great deal on a meal with a beer or spirit and mixer. Food was great and staff were very friendly and polite
A. J.
typical spoons but always packed, with two bars it's a great place for drinks
M. R.
It's not bad, usual pub really nice and big. Food is ok and drinks are cheap as per
S. C.
No condiments .
Quite shabby inside & dark.
Food wasn't too bad and arrived quickly although could have been a little hotter
Staff were very pleasant & helpful.
S. M.
Good prices and seemed short staffed but overall fine
I. S.
It's a chain pub that sells cheap food n drink and does it well. Huge place and you get what you expect
R. W.
I was having the tyres on my car changed so went into the pub for a cup of tea. 0.99 not a bad price. I'd been walking the dog earlier and had not had breakfast so I fired up my mobile data and ordered a meal on the Wetherspoons app, they had a deal on my ham, egg and chips. A soft drink and the meal for £3.99, and it was great. Service was quick and the staff were polite and informative. Loved it!
L. K.
Me and the wife always go for a drink whenever we are in town and the atmosphere is always fun and staff are friendly and polite and food is always nice
N. T.
Cheap beer, quick service and food arrived fast. Can't fault it
N. J. F.
Great place not alot of real ales on needs to have back on menu spaghetti bolognese
D. H.
Staff ok,beer ok otherwise a depressing example of the shouty nasty society people think is acceptable
B. M.
The food and drinks were amazing and the staff were helpful. I dined with my friend who I haven't seen for a year and it was nice. I order the skinny chicken burger and salad and really enjoyed it. I would recommend to come to this JD Wetherspoon soon. Thank you to everyone who are keeping the restaurant busy.
M. W.
Went in on a night out. Weatherspoons seem to have a bad wrap for attracting certain crowds. The Corn Exchange is a decent place to call into for a drink on a night out, or a meal during the day.
R. W.
Beautiful decor and spacious, but on Sundays it's slow service due to demand
D. N.
Good place but they don't have proper glasses but it still ok
T. S.
Day time this is....Love coming here we made it a place we go once or twice a week us girls or with family for lunch and remember a good friend who we loved spending time with and going here for food also having a laugh. 💫
A. B.
Really cool building and friendly staff. Slow service, poor staff were overwhelmed.
R. M.
A bit grotty needs refurbished but as ever good beer Guinness service good
R. C.
Wonderful and modest place.
Good selection of beer, one of the largest i have seen around.
Very economical and value pricing, great food and very pleasant service...
Cheers to the staff for the wonderful service and smiles...
Will highly recommend...
K. G.
Pretty poor as Wetherspoons go, Normally good news but doesn't quite hack it !
H. H.
On a hen night that started at 3pm. Possibly need some more staff as they were struggling with clearing tables and washing glasses. Felt sorry for the staff. But they served us quickly with a good attitude. Had an excellent afternoon in there followed by an excellent night elsewhere.
P. S.
Really saved an iconic leicester building. Doombar at 99p a pint!!
E. F.
Tables tidy. Did give us the wrong drink but sorted quickly. Breakfast was nice. Prices very good!
S. L.
I gave three stars, because to be absolutely fair it needs improvement in certain areas.
I attended here for a meal with a few friends, and the table we were shown to was sticky and could have done with a good clean.
The staff were friendly enough, and I do realise it was a busy evening but in these Covid times we live in, clean tables are important.
M. F.
The best place to start if you wanna have a night out in town
R. S.
Nice bar, wide range of food and drink.
Plenty of space, usual mini marathon to upstairs toilets lol
It was busy pre football match ko.
Easier to go bar for drinks, as ordering on app took over 20 mins..... and that was after approaching staff to help..... which they did.
A. W.
The employee Kingsley was super helpful and friendly, loved him need more employees like hims
C. C.
Decent makeover of a grand old building. Two decent vegan breakfasts.
a. b.
Was disappointed with the choice of real ales. Had only about 5 pumps - surprised by size of this pub.
D. W.
Good cheap beer Good atmosphere everytime we go in and like the table service from the app
L. G.
Very busy, but the Staff were excellent , thanks ✔️
t. f.
Nice atmosphere, table service was a bit slower than usual, but still had a great time.
S.
Nice place friendly staff food fantastic and really quickly brought to your table
R. S. H.
Staff lovely good pub friendly people.
M. !.
Lovely place to visit.... A lot cheaper than Toby carvery (£20 for 3 full meals) and the food was beautiful.
Well worth a visit, I love all the old pics too from the days this country was OK to live in.... Nostalgic I is lol
H. K.
Nice place for a quite drink or some good quality pub grub.
Staff are really really good and accomodating
A. D.
This is a very mediocre wetherspoons. There's plenty of seating inside (provided they don't randomly close upstairs and kick everyone out, best not to sit there as you never know), and two bars, but the service is always slow regardless of how busy it is. The staff are mostly quite friendly and do work hard, so the below problem seems to be management related.
My main complaint is orders arriving missing components, without the staff telling you and with you paying full price. I've had Godfathers with no lime, Chilli con Carne with no sour cream, and the beer is often in the wrong type of glass for that brand. This happens very often. There seems to be some kind of issue with stocking and keeping a consistent par. This doesn't happen nearly as often at other branches.
J. F.
Ohhh the chicken wings...... i couldnt get over it.... so delicious
S. S.
Great and cheap ales, nice food too :)
I. P.
It's a wetherspoons, cheap, good service, plenty of room
R. T.
The best spoons in town, but the food isn't the best!
R. W.
Quick coffee to fill time. All good.
B. W.
Easy to get served and the food is decent standard.
J. W.
Cheap, decent food, decent drinks, service was ok, bit felt like maybe an extra staff member of two could have been useful.
S. S.
It's a Spoons. It does what it says on the tin. Liked the layout, staff were friendly.
S.
Cheap good music great staff
C. M.
Good food and polite friendly staff
S. J.
Good food at good prices, always a long long wait unfortunately but that comes with the popularity
P. E.
Not too bad.. I guess good value for money.
J. G.
A spoons is a spoons. Good beer selection and reasonable service. Food is of a higher standard than other spoons locations. Building and site is well maintained.
J. C.
Superb building architecturally and the usual Weatherspoons comfortable and welcoming set up. Certainly worth five stars.
K. G.
Love it here!!! Great food and environment. Staff very helpful and friendly
J. A.
Guy fell down behind us in the pub staff were very nice and helpful
L. C.
The customer service was amazing and the atmosphere had a really calm and chill vibe. The food was served quickly and any inconvenience was sorted out respectfully.
D. N.
Service a bit slow and clientele down at heel. Abbot ale ok
d. l. d.
Cheap food always good atmpsphere weterspoon brilliant as always
J. W.
It was nice but the staff didn't really care and even though we didn't go during a rush we waited about 45 minutes for food.
The food was nice though and very well priced. I'm sure the wait was do to unforseen circumstances hence no less than four stars. Good pub and pub grub, perfect for students as they love the cheap menu.
L. L.
Nice easy brekkie before watching Harry Potter and the cursed child, wasn't the hottest
A. D.
Standard wetherspoons pub beer is average but cheap
S. A.
Decent place for a spoons, it's not as good as it used to be pre covid as there is no dj there anymore that I've seen. Still pretty mint though food and drinks all good.
M. L.
This is a really good spoons. Can't recommend it enough. If you want to get the unbeatable price of spoons and a nice place, central to sit, then this is the best place in the city, in my opinion. Pretty clean, though at times it could be a bit untidy as per usual busy times. Service is relatively fast than compared to other spoons. All in all, a wonderful place.
S. G.
Poor service when busy...missing drinks on orders
J. M. (.
Okay for a drink with the lads, but not the place when it comes to a family setting. The noise can be quite loud, but fine to look past with your mates.
S. B.
Nice town centre pub, can get very busy and hard to find a table on the weekends.
R. F.
Nice food lovely pint and very very nice price
J. T.
There's a very nice atmosphere in this establishment, the age of the building really adds to the character.
due to the location of said pub it can be busy during the week & due to this it might not be good for families, but it's perfect for couples and small groups of friends.
The menu has been trimmed down as of late, but the food continues to be of good quality and is reasonably priced considering the location of the Pub.
S. B.
Had the fish and chips though busy was served efficently and quicy
P. G.
Standard spoons pub in the UK. Lots of seating for food and bars on both floors of the venue. Easy enough to order from the app or at the bar. Food and drink as standard is great value for money. There is music and a small dancefloor on weekend nights which is good for starting out your night. Service obviously takes a hit during this time since the place is packed full of people.
G. S.
Great pub Great range of beers as always
d. m.
Can't go wrong at the price they charge. That's why it's so busy .
T. M.
Went in last Saturday afternoon, bought 4 coffees, we asked machine for 2 Mocha's and 2 hot chocolate, they all tasted like hot water, we mentioned it to staff saw them checking machine and tried again, same result, mentioned it again and after discussion with other staff we were told they were out of the chocolate powder
We left, unimpressed (30 years a customer)
C. F.
Perfect place for an affordable meal before a night at De Montfort Hall.
S. M.
Cheap drinks.good place in the center.good ,friendly staff.
m. d.
Food is decent here but the app ordering service is an absolute shambles at this Spoons. Multiple times I've been left waiting for my drink for more than 20 minutes and more often than not you're halfway through your food before the drink shows up. Even when it's not busy it's an issue.
R. S.
Great atmosphere in this lively town centre venue. Used by youngsters and oldsters alike ! Prices are exceptionally reasonable and you can drink as much tea and coffee as you wish for the princely sum of just £1.35 for your refillable cup ! Brilliant selection of real ales on offer, again at prices that are lower than all other places. Staff are helpful, friendly and efficient and definitely switched on to offering great customer service. Well done Tim Martin for your chain of pubs.....even though I disagree with you 100% on Brexit !
R. B.
Lovely building, ambience, food ànd prices
J. B.
One of the best weatherspoons I've ever visited, great atmosphere
J. F.
Absolutely great food.very friendly
a. j.
Does what it says on the tin...order via the app and food and drink is on its way!not a bad starting point on a night out in the city centre...some guest ales £2 a pint bargain!!
T. M.
Very good staff was nice
J. G.
Dark, dingy and in need of a refurb. The food came out within five minutes of ordering on a Saturday afternoon, and the waiting staff looked like they obviously didn’t want to be there. The place also had a lot of ‘crack heads’. We went outside and there was a mad woman pretending she was the police! We stopped by for a quick drink at 12am the same night and there was a DJ on. The place had a dress code so the clientele was a bit better. However the music was not very loud compared to other Lloyds Bars.
J. S.
Great service and excellent food
R. L.
We popped in for lunch whilst in town, good food, nice staff and lots of room between tables.
S. P.
You know what you are getting at a Wetherspoons pub, this one was a bit like a drop in centre but breakfast was nice. Cheap and cheerful springs to mind.
L. M.
Spacious establishment. Good prices for food and drinks. can't complain.
T. P.
Great place for catch up drinks with the uncle I the day then great for loud music and dancing in the evening
V. K.
It is what it says. Posh drinks and snobby people? NO!!! Great deals and average food? Definately!!!
Spacious place with service working very well during the covid-19 circumstances.
G. M.
Great Venue to eat and drink
L. H.
Great atmosphere for having a night out with a group of friends on weekends and a classy place for having a mid-week meal. Great open areas, clean and functioning facilities and a good selection of food and drink at all times. Conveniently situated adjacent the Leicester Market.
K. M.
You get the food and drink for a very reasonable price that's why I like it.
A. P.
Great for a pit stop while out shopping or even waiting for the wife to finish shopping lol. Food is nice also with and gd variety including sharing platters if your with friends. Personally I prefer this pub during the day as at weekends it becomes a night club and tends to get really busy. Hence the 4 stars and not 5
S. g.
Great value for money. If you want 5 star surroundings don't come here. But if you're on a budget, you want a reasonable meal & glass of vino then it's just the job.
m. k.
Decent food and a great place to go if you want affordable food! Ideal for students or large groups as the bill won't come to a fortune! It has most of your standard pub type foods and has always been clean and tidy every time i have been.
p. l.
We all enjoyed the meal and drink and will be calling back soon
D. R.
Huge pub, usually very crowded, but still possible to find a free table. Friendly staff. Great atmosphere. Menu is slightly different from other wetherspoons pubs. Delicious steakes, but only serve sirloin steakes.
J.
Great for prices food & drinks, people watching, sound staff,
s. h.
Enjoyable evening, good price on food and alcohol.
Was nice to see there was alot middle age people there, it's refreshing see good number people out having nice time and no trouble the whole night.
Clean and well staffed we all totally enjoyed our evening.
J. T.
First Time Visiting.. Great Breakfast. Great Staff and Good Value! Plus, Free Hot Drink Refills is a Big Bonus .. Just Need the Time to Stay and Enjoy it.
c. “. b.
Great food affordable prices
B. G.
A busy, popular and friendly watering-hole. Ideally located at the back of Leicester Market. The food is good, prices are reasonable and staff are very warm, friendly and professional.
M. M.
Lloyds No 1- The Corn Exchange is absolutely wonderful. The meals are very tasty. So much to choose from. Also when you have a cup of coffee and tea you can have as many refills as you want. A good choice of foods is available. My friends and I had a good time there.
N. W.
Good food, good portions. Fast service. Just what you expect from a spoons 👍
T. L.
Inexpensive good food and drink is the hallmark of a Wetherspoon establishment and long may it continue!
This one is in the former Corn Exchange (the name is a dead giveaway, isn't it) in the very centre of the City of Leicester - namely the Retail Market - which is adjacent to it.
It has been well restored during its adaptation by Wetherspoon. A nice aspect is that there is a first floor balcony running three-quarters of the way around the building so those who wish to dance/party can do so on the ground floor on Friday and weekend nights without inconveniencing those who want to drink, eat and talk too much due to them being upstairs - the volume of the disco can be a bit unbearable at times though!
Has a disabled accessible entrance/exit and a dedicated disabled toilet.
Busy at times due to it's location so there is sometimes a bit of a wait but the friendly staff do their best.
N. S.
Typical wetherspoons pub. The building is nice with comfier seating. Staff were friendly and service was quick. Some of my friends were using the wetherspoons app which worked well. They have good cheap food and drinks too.
T. V.
Food was really nice, 4 stars because the service was a little bit slow, and we had the drinks after the lunch, but that's okak
C. L.
Lively and spacious friendly environment
M. W.
Very nicely set out,
staff are very helpful , cheerful and friendly.
Now for the best part .
Serve a great pint and a damn good steak.
Very highly recommend .
Worth a try.
Very competitively priced.
D. T.
Fantastic food and fantastic Cocktails great price plus great service. 🇬🇧
L. G.
good atmosphere, kind of loud, good service, lots of space. favourite with students
E.
food and staff are lovely
T. B.
Service was slow, took an hour to get 2 drinks. Apart from that pretty decent
D. M.
Very busy but decent service and food was only warm at best.
A. K.
Fine as always. Bring back magners
H. D.
It was a very hot day in July 2018. I was thirsty and being Monday I was able to enjoy lower prices for Mondays at Lloyd's No.1 in Leicester. One of the very few pubs with price list and food and drink menus on every table. Plus there is information in the menus like calories for each dish and percentage volume of alcohol for every drink. In today's IT world information costs money but in Wetherspoon pubs this much valued info for good health is provided free.
O. F.
Needs updating but staff good
W. L.
Great food and Drinks...
C. F.
Come here quite often for a fry up. Cheapest place in city centre but always good food. Plenty of room to have 2 little ones in high chairs and our pushchairs at the side.
M. W.
The food is nice and there is a great variety of food . It's a Wetherspoons. In other wetherspoons they have started to serve pizzas but it hasn't currently been updated here yet . Slightly dated inside but staff are nice enough. Would recommend .
M. M.
I don't hate it. The food is good very reasonably priced. The place a bit dark but the atmosphere is friendly and staff very pleasant.
J. F.
Run of the mill Whetherspoons pub. Food is ok but not brilliant. Drinks are reasonably priced. Lots of seating upstairs and downstairs during the day. Gents toilets need to be more regularly cleaned as they weren't in a very state.
M. J.
Great drinks and great food. Just don't expect to be able to talk to your friends/partner if you go for a late evening meal on a Friday/Saturday as the music starts early and it's loud..
M. D. F.
Corn exchange was a very nice experience, even though both times I have been there was for pub crawls. Seating is very comfortable, very nice music, and a large variety of drinks to meet all of your needs. Friendly staff, definitely recommend going either during the day or a drink at night!
L. G.
Couple of drinks after a days shopping. Perfect
J. B.
Not really my scene these days but all part of the stag do pre-drinks... Quick service, good offers on drinks if thats your thing, and a vibrant atmosphere. Don't bother trying to start a conversation though, you'll barely be able to hear yourself think, never mind talk!
M. R.
Very busy early doors 6-8pm so not sure what it would be like later on. Staff were OK, long wait times for service etc.. Ordered some drinks via App but took so long I went to the bar to remind them!
L. P.
A gorgeous building, set in the heart of Leicester.
The interior is very pleasant to look at although it does succumb to the usual Wetherspoons setbacks.
It's regularly very busy and service at the upper floor bar is often slow as it is infrequently manned. It's very open with high ceilings so the sound carries a little too well at times.
The food is pleasant and economical. I tend to stick to the classics like lasagne and halloumi fries which are always very tasty.
Drinks are wide ranging and well priced.
D.
Drinks at great prices. Very enjoyable time going their with freinds. Also can get very living with the multiple groups of people who are mostly students. But that's exactly what Wetherspoons are for. Uniting drunk uni students togather under one dome for great , embarrassing or odd drunk times with freinds and strangers alike.
A. M.
I really like to drink beer here, and they are good beer super cool 🆒
A. B.
Large pub in the center of Leicester market.
Staff seem to be run off their feet dealing with people who have ordered food and drink via the app.Toilets are always grubby. Food is okay
J. M.
Ok Wetherspoons, does what is says on the tin!
N. C.
Great food fast service Great for a drink and a cheap meal
n. a.
Very huge building! suitable place to eat or drink
c. t.
Decent pub/restaurant.
Food good for the price
Y. W.
Great prices for drinks, food not good now for Coeliac.
D. C.
Typical Lloyds/Wetherspoons establishment set in what was once a grand old building. Cheap food and cheap drinks bring out the best of the chain but often brings out the worst in clientele. No frills, no thrills.
S. g.
Great value for money. If you want 5 star surroundings don't come here. But if you're on a budget, you want a reasonable meal & glass of vino then it's just the job.

Great place
B. G.
A busy, popular and friendly watering-hole. Ideally located at the back of Leicester Market. The food is good, prices are reasonable and staff are very warm, friendly and professional.
C. G.
Fine spoons good service
D. L.
Just walk in no one stops you
Table not cleaned between customers
A. W.
Decent food and a pleasant atmosphere, let down slightly by the strange smell.
J. W.
Great place to go for a drink with friends, lots of options and tea and coffee etc as well. I'm a regular here and I love sitting outside with friends in the sun. The food is awesome as well
K. B.
There is a coffee machine on one side of the bar. Not much use to me as a disabled customer, wasn't even offered assistance, the bar person who took my order and payment was serving someone immediately after and just put a mug and a glass of water on the bar no offer of assistance at all even though I went in on my mobility scooter and just managed to hobble to the bar to order
M. R.
Excellent value would certainly recommend this
l. k.
We arrived at 10.30am and had breakfast but bacon and hash browns were cold. But service was quick and friendly.
L. T.
A Whetherspoon’s, with, as you’d expect, good value food and drinks as you’d expect. Located in a beautiful, historic building in the centre of Leicester Market, behind the fish market. Out of the three Whetherspoon’s I’ve been in within Leicester, this is definitely one of the nicest. They do a good Woo-Woo here too! (Necessary detail)
s. b.
Nice breakfast. Bit cold but tasted decent. Lighting was very dark upstairs, mens toilet felt like walking on selotape was so sticky.
D. H.
It's an ok place to visit the prices are good for both food and drinks but when we visited my Partner ordered Lamb Rogan Josh but actually received chicken jalfrezi and a garlic naan so tough it might hav.e been made of leather
B. M.
A place to cool of the work stress....is a nice place
M. C.
First time I went the food was great. Unfortunately experiences since show that it was a pure bit of luck on the chef's part. We had a sunday roast there which had rock hard veg and inedible potatoes. We tried a simple drink another time with a friend and had Lemonade which was just fizzy water. Today's shambles was the worst though as I ordered a breakfast and a hot chocolate. They had somehow run out of whipped cream and forgot to purchase any more, so I had extra foam dumped on the top of it and what seemed like half a tub of chocolate sprinkled over it. The breakfast came with toast which couldn't be buttered as the butter had separated for some reason, the bacon was almost burnt, the hash browns were barely edible. Thankfully the sausages were okay to eat and the lemonade this time was actually lemonade. Until they fire both chef and staff I would avoid like the plague and aim for the wetherspoons up near pound stretcher as I can happily say it is one of the best places to eat in Leicester.
T. C.
This is a great Wetherspoon pub in the city centre right next to the outdoor market, lots of seating and great character. Enjoy a refreshing drink or good value food from the menus.
L. H.
Lovely places always good food friendly staff love it
N. W.
Went I'm for breakfast and the food and service were brilliant !
K.
Great place for a pit stop food ok drinks selection fantastic good if you've got kids. Always a friendly face and promp service. Would recommend.
A. W.
Decent food and a pleasant atmosphere, let down slightly by the strange smell.
F. D.
Very nice staff. The service is great with everyone's food on your table being bought out at the same time. Great prices for meals and drinks.
L. H.
Nice food but bit impersonal. Toilets upstairs ☹️
P. W.
Best weatherspoons so far...food was ok..tried pizza...not bad. This place played music...we even played in a pub quiz...came second...😭 Would definitely recommend this place.
X.
The food there is great and brilliant right in the centre of Leicester city centre to be honest personally I really liked it and so did my family it's a nice place to eat and not the mention the unlimited refills on coffee the only downer on this place that sometimes you go eat the food it is warm and not hot, but all together you get good food for good prices
M. C.
Toilets were not in clean state. Also, the add-ons on my pizza were paid for but not present. The cider had a strange chemical taste, that I never experienced before.
A. M.
I only gave 4 cuz I don't go as often as I used too, the last time I had a lovely meal, n a happy relaxed drink with my brother, I choose to drink n eat at the corn exchange when ever I go in town and have done for over 10 and have always had an injoyable time,
J. W.
Enjoy the staff though always busy so friendly and ready to help good menu met up with friends every week just one thing we had beans on toast the beans were only Luke warm which was a shame as usually the food is lovely 🤗🤔
C. S.
Been coming here for years weekly for food and ales
By far the best whetherspoons in Leicester
Huge areas to eat and drink so your night can be as busy or cosy as you choose.
I love daytimes here with my family too
Always good food and real ales.
Best whetherspoons staff I've met
R. B.
A popular weatrherspoons next to the leicester market .like all weatrherspoons lacks any comfortable chairs but the bar is large enough to accommodate the large numbers that drink here
I. D.
Great place to visit lovely and clean lots going on staff very good nothing to much for them to help you out.drinks very well price music not to bad 12 of us arrive about 20.30 straight to the bar then on to the dance floor had a great time would recommend it to everyone
D. W.
Food is reasonable sometime cold when it arrives. If you're upstairs and want a coffee you have to go downstairs to a self service machine. Service can be disappointing. 😔
S.
Nice atmosphere friendly staff decent food overall a nice day out.
R. “. D.
Good pub, one of cheapest in Leicester. Weird location under staircase
G. M.
Quick breakfast. Great latte. Enjoyable.
A. S.

K. G.
Not bad prices and the staff are decent. Shame about some of the people that go in here though probably worth a miss as much better places to go and drink in Leicester
D. S.
Top spoons, my mate got bitten here 😂
J. S.
This is the wetherspoons in Leicester market Square very nice layout and Decor but abit crowded too many table and chairs crammed in and you cannot move... That's the only moan food lovely and hot and arrived quickly worth a visit.
L. A.
I will always be in the mood for WINGS and I have fallen in love with the Wings at The Corn Exchange. And the building as a whole, is beautiful, spacious but yet cosy!
P. B.
Typical 'spoons' venue. Of the many I have visited it has no distinguishing features.
J. W.
My husband can remember tbis building being a nightclub years and years ago. Now a typical Weathetspoons pub. Eating and drinking on three levels. You won't be disappointed
h. S.
Very good food served every day different menu..alcohol served til mid night..very reasonable prices..food and drinks..
L. A.
Garlic bread pizza
N. W.
Great meeting place for a drink or food
c. b.
Fantastic atmosphere, I'm a wheelchair user and the staff couldn't be of more help and the pricing and quality of their food and drink is 2bd to none
H.
Good pub price wise but it gets obnoxiously loud from 9 pm onwards on a monday, to the point where we need to shout anywhere inside. Wasn't very happy.
S. B.
Service was excellent the loos were spotless and the food was very yummy
S. J.
Typical Wetherspoon
Excellent staff both on the door and inside, all applying good methods of working during covid. Well done.

K. B.
Food not so good but alcohol reasonably priced quick service on app
J. I.
Lovely place and atmosphere
V.
Good drinks, prices aren't too bad, staff are nice, only issue is that the place becomes a super loud nightclub at 8ish on Fridays and Saturdays.
P. J. T.

H. H.

As regular customers at Lloyds No 1 Bar Corn Exchange Leicester, our visits are always made to feel most welcome by friendly staff, especially when served by Laura & Lon, Duty Manager. Thank you.
S. B.
Staff are friendly, food could be better drinks are great unless you order real ale which is sometimes undrinkable
B. S.
Busy city centre pub. Visited in the evening so I imagine lunchtime would be very busy as it is next to the market. Great building
M. M.
It is good bar if not much people, other way, it would be a problem where to dance. But I had fun in it, and I liked the music.
L. T.
Nice drinks. Good deals and food. Two levels separates the dancers from those who just want a chat.
r. c.
Great steak and nice staff . Food came pretty quick and a good time was had.
D. P.
Good choice of real ales.
T. S.
Busy place. Hard to get served. Need more bar staff but good atmosphere.
C. B.

D. L.
Just walk in no one stops you

T. s. (.
Very nice pub, doesn't even look like a spoons, only complain is the dress code on Saturday nights.
A.
Nice Wetherspoons, good location
D. Z.
Good pub, nice staff, wouldn't go too late as they try to turn it into a nightclub with terrible overly loud music making it impossible to make conversation over a pint.
M. C.
It's a spoons...the toilets are both upstairs and downstairs ....downstairs toilets in a spoons who knew
