The service is good. Food is good if you eat meat. However I'm vegetarian and the food was awful. The goats cheese starter was disgusting- had a bite and left it. Pizza is average. The desert was very good. Pear and sticky toffee pudding was very nice. I did let the staff know about the starter she shrugged her shoulders and walked off. They should offer more variety for veggie and vegans. Very disappointing 😞 . The place is nice and cosy.

Date night at the Pear Tree Inn was the best night. Requested a quiet table out of the way for my boyfriend's birthday and they delivered just that. The service was excellent and the food was out of this world. Will definitely be returning whether its for an occasion or a casual evening

Absolutely fantastic meal here out on the terrace (covered and with heaters). Prawns for starter were juicy and the whipped burrata was so delicate. Pizza for main was excellent with pops of black pepper, and butternut squash and beetroot ravioli were heavenly. Puddings also great. Service was top notch and the whole experience was still relaxed despite the high end food. Throughly recommended!

We just visited for lunch. The menu resembles an evening menu forcing you to pay even menu rates. Portion sizes are too large. The food was ok, nothing special. We had a hair in the desert but I'd like to think this was a one off. We did put it on a plate and gave it to the staff but nothing was said. The staff didn't seem to know much about the menu but did make the effort to find out when questioned. Atmosphere was lacking. We visited a pub up the road which was packed and turning away customers just before visiting here, so there's no lack of footfall. I'd recommend avoiding lunch but definitely go for the even. Stick to what they do best which is pizza. Perfect outdoor seating area. Especially in the winter.

Very clear the chef has meticulously designed the flavours and textures of each dish and it’s very impressive. Fabulous food, great atmosphere, decor, service and location. There are so many average, but still expensive gastropubs around but this one is well worth a visit.

Really great food and service. A beautiful restaurant with very friendly staff. High quality seafood with amazing flavours. A few improvements though: all the sides were highly over salted, most of the food arrived cold (cold plates), more vegan options would be appreciated, quite expensive (although that's to be expected for the quality of food and location).

We visited The Pear Tree Inn on the 26th June, we couldn’t have been more pleased. There was 12 of us and with such a big group you’d expect some things/orders to go wrong but everything was just perfect. Wow this place was a find, I never had such an amazing pizza in my life, 1 metre long 3 different toppings, taste sensation followed by an amazing lemon pudding that simply wowed me, definitely will be returning the lovely waitresses were on hand making sure we never had an empty glass, welldone poppy and tate good work.x

The food was incredible & they also have a large outdoor eating area with heat lamps & glass surrounds which will be lovely in the nicer weather. The staff were impeccable, polite & knew their stuff. My only criticism is as I'm in a wheelchair, there is only 2 accessible tables opposite the bar, the other tables are up some steps & down some steps & there is no disabled toilet. It won't stop us from going back, it'll just take a bit more planning. The food speaks for itself, absolutely stunning, well worth a visit & I'll guarantee you'll go back!

Food was excellent. Service was also excellent. Felt the menu was misleading. Prices were for either 2 or 3 courses so felt obliged to have a starter or pudding which I normally wouldn't have and didn't need after the amazing pizza. When we received the bill however all the food was itemized individually which makes me wonder if I could just have had a main meal. Definitely worth asking. Also rather hefty (optional) service charge added.

Outstanding! Attentive customer service that went above and beyond IMO. From the instant you walk in you'll feel relaxed and at home and it's clear to me that the customer experience is at the heart of everything they do here. Well done! I can't wait to go again and have booked in for a celebratory meal soon. In the meantime, I'll be looking for more excuses to go again and again and again and again . . One thing, how about offering weekend breakfasts? I know that's a bit of a curve ball but it's a growing market and one you could do like no other. Food for thought. Arnold Bennett anyone? 😉

My first and probably last visit. Having lived in the area for the past 30 years I thought it was way past due that I should visit. Went here with a friend on a bright and sunny day. Walked in and was nearly overcome by a wall of heat and stuffiness, when you get too many people in an unventilated space and not enough fresh air, plus there were open fires in the grates. It was 20 celcius outside, probably 25 inside. Then I got charged £10 for a pint of Guinness and pint of tap cider. Another shock. Thanks, but you can keep your expensive beer and sweltering, crowded pub...

Amazing food great vibe Me and my partner visited this lovey place for a family members birthday and enjoyed it so much we couldn't wait to come back. unfortunately Covid hit witch delayed our visit. Everything we chose on the menu we enjoyed drinks menu was well stocked offering a good range of gins and beers. The food prepared fresh served nice and hot the sauces were very complimentary to the dishes. I think iv'e found my no1 place for pizza the Fiorentina pizza ticked all my boxes. Would highly recommend this place thank you to Marco family and team great service and great restaurant.

Have been here many times and always love it. Sat on the terrace tonight, dinner booked for 6pm. By 6.17 we had our starters and mains. I had pasta and boyfriend had steak, no black pepper or sauces were asked for which is normally a given. It was far too quick, but all the food was lovely. Then wanted desert but the opposite happened and couldn't get anyone's attention. When it eventually came the pannacotta was to die for! Asked for the bill and wasn't told about the discretionary service charge so we left a tip aswell. We wouldn't have done so as the service wasn't brilliant. We would come again but perhaps not sit outside as service wasn't great. I say this but the guys outside were really friendly.

Easily the best pizza in the Leicester Leicestershire area that I have tried and I would be surprised if I found one better. A traditional Napolitan style pizza, cooked in a wood fired oven. Your spoilt for choice when it comes to toppings, all seemed great and personally I had the naduja, which was excellent. It's all set in a beautiful pub with excellent service. Decent pub food, slightly over priced and carpark can be a struggle if busy, the seating and decore give the place a modern comfortable feel. Also check your bill as they chuck on a 10% service charge which I didnt like as I prefer to leave cash tip for waitress.

Great food to celebrate our anniversary weekend. Ordered there spicy Ndjua pizzas for my wife and I and a pepperoni for our son. They were amazing, the Ndjua was amazing, the best pizza I've had images. The green crust dip was next level too. Also had the cook at home spinach and ricotta cannolin to have the next day, was incredible. Very tasty and perfect for a Sunday Eve. Really easy to collect and great service. Fantastic all round

What a wonderful culinary experience, first class service and attention and food that could and should be renowned worldwide. Lisa and the staff ensured the welcome and experience went beyond a Saturday night out. My recommendation is to book, don’t be disappointed by showing up and being told there’s no room at the Inn especially at this time of year :-) the braised pigs cheek and sausage pie accompanied by black pudding and creamy mash in my opinion was the signature dish, absolutely stunning. I loved this restaurant when it was Ginos Italian....and now the brothers have done it again with The Pear Tree! Excellent refurb...casual but smart, relaxed dining with superb tasty, well seasoned food. Lovely little family owned Italian restaurant. They've just built a new wood fired oven for pizza, and make some of the most authentic Italian pizza I've ever had in the UK (and they've got the awards to prove it). Next time I visit I need to try the Lasagne.

So, as like most people I read the lesser star reviews first as normally it’s a clearer indication. We decided to go to genos as the theme indicated an authentic Italian experiance, some notes on that. We decided to go for the pizza (salami) with black olives and also the chicken supreme dish. The pizza was soft and fairly nice, a good ratio of cheese to bread etc. I’d say a fair 7/10. Not quite worth the £10.50 it was priced at, but it’s a restaurant so it’s expected to be a little more. The olives however were awful, straight from a jar, and not a “Tesco’s finest” jar, more like the ones you get for FREE in the salad bar in harvester (in-fact, I’m pretty certain they were the same ones) 😬... wasn’t impressed.. this is an Italian restaurant and they use the cheapest olives available? The chicken supreme was £14.50, it was basically a quarter chicken with 3 cooked cherry tomatoes. The chicken was seasoned & cooked well but it was also very small (for a child it would be adequate) and most certainly not worth £14.50! Didn’t even come with sides... ^ This isn’t a london based resurant guys, you can’t just make up a price and provide subpar portions - surely longevity from customers is more important than instant profits and non returning customers? A nanos would have been half the price with MUCH better Olives and MUCH bigger chicken portions, cooked just as well. I know this sounds like a very negative review and I can assure you it’s not intentional but at the same time, I eat out pretty much every night and the food to price ratio just didn’t cut it for me. Would I recommend to a friend? Mm maybe the pizza (without olives). Everything else? Probably not. Just for reference - total price £40 Pizza Chicken “supreme” Large glass of house red wine Small glass of house red wine. Also The service was friendly and venue okay.

This restaurant is a family run business and it shows. All the staff have the same ethos to give you not just a great dining experience but a sense of ease. Ginos is busy and the front of house makes it look easy and this helps the diner have a relaxing and pleasurable dining experience. I have eaten in many restaurants and I have to say the food and the atmosphere here is excellent but the only way to see if I'm right is to try it yourself. I have no hesitation in giving Ginos 5 stars. If you can, try to book in on one of the Jazz nights; what an atmosphere. They have a good selection of high quality draft and bottled Beers, Lagers, wines and spirits: There are two internal dining rooms and a good size covered alfresco eating area for the hot summer months. Latest addition is a Pizza oven where a dedicated Pizza chef cooks fresh stone baked Pizza to your specification using only fresh dough and ingredients. All in all well done Ginos you know I'll be back!

Best Italian restaurant in the area , if your after a lasagne, pizza or steak this is the place to go. Really professional staff and you can eat inside or out (good for the summer). One of the few places in the area that serve Peroni on tap. You will not be disappointed.

The food was really nice. However, I booked a table specifying my partner and I were both vegetarian. When we got to the restaurant there wasn’t available the option to have a vegetarian Sunday roast as they had ran out (only vegetarian option on the menu when you book). When I went to express to the manager our disappointment she just said she refused to listen and said that we could pick pasta, not acknowledging that we had made specifications on booking and that I didn’t understand why they asked if they didn’t look at them… Sadly my parents had a similar experience, their comments were the same, great food but poor service.
