Went here today for lunch and was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. It was absolutely fantastic. Great value for money and staff were very polite and welcoming. I would highly recommend this place for food. As you can see from the images, the food was very nicely presented.

I came with my daughter for the first time for lunch and was very pleased indeed. Very reasonably priced , decent menu and nice quiet atmosphere. Sat outside afterwards with a coffee and the views are beautiful.

Myself & a couple of friends have been comming here every few weeks for our "girls catch up lunch". The food is good value for money with lots to choose from. The staff are lovely & service is very good.

The best summer pub around. I defy anyone to not enjoy a drink sat outside in the summer over looking fields in Thurnby & Stoughton. An old established village pub with 2 separate bars, one mainly for meals. The food is typical pub grub, but great just for a quick meal & a couple of drinks... Also has a skittle alley.... The R&C has been part of my life for nearly 50 yrs. The view hasn't changed but the pub has tidied up the garden to make the view far easier on the eye. If you want peace away from this chaotic world look no further than this pub to enjoy your pint 🍻

The food was tasty and a good solid meal. Not a complaint to be had with our table of four. We all had burgers and there were compliments about the range of food and the cheese that came on the burgers. The setting was picturesque and they were very compliant with the social distancing measures which made us feel safe. They also stated that if the weather was bad we would be able to switch to a table inside with no problem what so ever. Will definitely be returning here in the future. Staff were very polite and friendly also.

Just had Sunday lunch at the rose and crown. It was amazing. The food was really nice. Great portion sizes. The lamb shank was cooked really well .... It was melt in your mouth tender. Staff were awesome very attentive. We will definitely be returning for Sunday lunch very soon.

We came here for a family birthday meal . The weather was warm so we were able to sit in the lovely terraced garden to eat, looking out at the beautiful view of rolling hills. Very nice pub lunch, we have been a few times when visiting mother in law. I had a baguette and salad, hubby had fish and chips and mother in law had fish pie. All the food was lovely and nothing wasted. Beer is good here as is the coffee. Would recommend.

Nice pub. Visited as part of a large group to have lunch. They kindly opened up early so we could preorder our food and use the toilet. When we finished our walk, food was quick to appear. Food came nice and hot and everyone seemed to enjoy. We'll use this pub again as part of our walks.

Stopped going as management rather grumpy, unwilling to provide smaller portions for people on a diet or seniors with smaller appetites. Food on the whole reasonable. Lovely views in beer garden and can cater for small family parties or work outings in their skittle alley room.

Tasty food in a pleasant location at pub grub prices... what more could you ask for? It’s worth noting the main pub part is in a separate part of the pub, so diners are separated from drinkers, which I suppose is good. You can buy drinks at the bar in the restaurant part still though.
