My favourite pub in town. Excellent use of the outdoor space, classy looking without being overly pretentious. Never had an altercation with a tosser here, good people drink here. One time I fell over on a night out and dislocated shoulder. Left my keys on pub table and these wonderful people took them to their sister pub, as the R&D is closed Sunday, so I managed to get them back when I was discharged. GO THERE NOW AND DRINK!!

We called in here for dinner and drink’s over the weekend and were very pleased with our choice. The quality of the food being delivered to tables around us and the variety in their menu made it difficult to make a choice. However, the offer of the wings and ribs was too hard to pass up and I'm happy to say it was melt in your mouth delicious served with possibly the best chips I have ever had. My partner ordered some Poutine and everything was cooked to order and served hot and delivered with a smile from ear to ear. Our drinks were cold and delivered quickly, I ordered a Guinness that was poured to perfection so much so, we stayed late after our meal to enjoy the environment and some further drinks. A couple of chaps behind the bar Joe and Marseille were fantastic! Later in the evening I even managed to speak with the chef Sam! Although he didn’t reveal the trade secrets for the great food. Thanks for a great meal and wondaful evening this weekend. See you all soon.

I was in Rutland and Derby last Saturday evening to have drinks. The location is quite central and close to main attractions (shops, restaurants etc.). I found the service unresponsive: I called staff more than once to be served and, when I asked for a cocktail, one of the bartenders was a bit slow. Drinks were pleasant, despite being a tad expensive, considering it's a regular pub with little space. Overall, I was not impressed. I have not tried their food yet, but I may at some point.

A cosy pub/restaurant. It plenty of seating indoor and out. Bench we were sat at had a radiator underneath, don't know if this is the same for all, but that was great on a cold January afternoon. Food was very nice and arrived without delay. For anyone ordering the sprouts as a side, the serving is enough to feed 2-3 people!

It's the R&D - always just the right amount of busy, nice atmosphere, amazing selection of beers (and crisps nuts) also a decent kitchen serving a great menu. There's a reason this place has been going strong for so long when other pubs have been and gone.

Me and my pals were accommodated by Stuart and his team after another place couldn't find our booking... in hindsight I'm pleased about the mix up with the other place as we had a FAB night, this place is awesome. Nice pub in the middle town city centre that has a large garden in the back to enjoy drinks in the sun. It also has a terrace option (non smoking area) which they kindly seated us in as we had a pregnant lady with us. All drinks and food is ordered through an app, with a QR code available on the table for a link to the app. Unfortunately there some items not available on the day which we wanted to try, but there was still plenty of choice from their other burgers and poutine (sadly no wings were available when we went). Food was good and we didn't feel rushed whenever we were there. If you plan to drive in, just be mindful that there isn't a car park nearby, so you might need to walk a bit to get there.

I was really looking forward to this and it didn't disappoint. I was lucky enough to get the last portion of Brisket Poutine, we also ordered the Shroom poutine both were packed with flavour. The veal gravy, pancetta & little nuggets of red leicester with accompanying pickles and Parsley on the Brisket were a great Leicester take on the original creation of Poutine in Quebec. The Paris brown shrooms were cooked to perfection and the Cep gravy had that woodland smokey umami flavour I would expect. The accompanying marinated wild mushrooms & tarragon & shredded melting mozzarella completed another great vegetarian take on the classic Poutine. We were greeted at the door and shown to our table in the courtyard where there are heaters & parasols incase of rain . It was good to see all staff wearing PPE & also customers wearing their masks when moving to their tables or to use the toilets. It is great to see Covid safety measures working properly something other leicester hospitality businesses could learn a lot from. For Drinks we Ordered an Everards Sunchaser which for me was a perfect late afternoon/ early evening drink and although the sun was trying to shine on the courtyard rain clouds had other ideas. The Mojito brought back now distant memories of visits to the Balearics. Tables are available on a first come first served basis & it really is worth queueing socially distanced to sample this outstanding new food concept from The Poutine Collective at The Rutland & Derby pub

Very nice pub in particular on a sunny day it is possible to enjoy the weather and have a fun in the roof. The back garden is small but quite nice and you are in the city centre. This place serves also food and it is a good pub to go on a Sunday to eat and spend your time relaxing with a drink. They also have TVs and usually let you see football matches.

Great atmosphere with a wide selection of food and drink. Only reason review is not 5* is because the service can be a little slow when they get busy and their staff dont keep a track on whos next so its awkward and time consuming getting served sometimes, and their prices are (a bit) more expensive than similar other pubs. If you are looking for a nice, friendly, clean pub with good food, a great urban garden and you dont mind waiting a bit longer and paying slightly more for better than average quality food and drink, then this is the place for you.

The food here stole the show, it was fantastic, I had a poutine and a smoked Bockwurst. I can honestly say one of the best meals I've ever had. It's a lovely pub, but beer isn't cheap. In fact it's very expensive. But people say we'll that's what you pay now says in town.. Well if thats the case, no wounder not as many people go out and get merry. For a pint and a coke I just got 2 quid change from a 10er. We did have good and it was pretty nice. I did t think the pizzas were very good though, buty steak sandwich was nice.

I have been coming here on and of since I was 17 (am 53 now) and have seen this change from a bikers and indy student dive with a brilliant jukebox to a trendy bar to the bit of everything it is now. The ale especially the Tiger has always been consistent . Ate for the first time with my Dad and sister a couple of weeks ago. Interesting menu and very good filling ghoulash, just very noisy environment for eating a meal. But high marks for nostalgia.

Great pub in the city centre, just enough from the beaten track to dissuade mass invasion. Interior is beautiful and modern whilst the exterior is airy and the top deck allows for a wonderful afternoon basking in sunshine.

We booked here for a pre-xmas meal. The food was nice but they said it was a £5 minimum spend on drinks which is strange considering contactless payments don't have fees attached. I felt annoyed as this felt like a way to charge customers more (having to buy two drinks) when we were there for a meal which cost over £10 per person so were already spending over the amount 'required' just using seperate payments. I considered telling them I didn't want the coffee I ordered but realised I had thought to bring cash (which I very rarely do). If I had, they would have lost the £3 charged for the coffee and the cost of making it for having this minimum spend policy. I would have added another star to my rating as the environment/food was nice.
