We visited Lincolnshire and Lincoln City with family yesterday, we tried a couple of places to stop and eat but failed as things were either shut or didn't cater for vegetarians or children. This was the next place on the list. We ordered drinks at the bar, staff were very friendly and efficient. The menu had very good choices on them and some great deals! £7 for a mixed grill is fab, food was hot and very tasty! Would definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area or visiting Lincolnshire we have added it to our list to return again 👍

I have come back after 6 years of not coming to here after a bad experience of bad food, bad attitude. But I can honestly say myself & my friend are loving the quality of food here now, the good hygiene, also what lovely helpful staff they have. Always willing to go the extra mile to meet the customers needs. 100% excellent service. Would definitely recommend coming here. Every meal is cooked to perfection. In my opinion it's the best place I've been in many years. Thank you to polly who is so kind & friendly. Looking forward to next week when we come again. Thank you to all the staff. Absolutely beaut! Food was gorgeous, for the first time in ages we actually didn't regret spending on a meal out. Kids had adult meals and finished every bit! Staff was friendly everything was clean! Brill for the price too! Will definitely be back!

A bit rough and ready but great atmosphere as Arsenal and ManU were playing. We liked the over 18s section but kids are still running through to get in and out from the beer garden. Really enjoyed our meals and service was excellent.

A run of the mill pub, not a bad menu with a good variety. Cuts of meat were very poor and a lot of food was wasted, and as none of the staff returned to check if everything was okay we could not complain untill half an hour after we had finished when they collected the plates. I was given a knife with a snapped handle and sharp edges in the handle, but again, no one was around to ask for a replacement. Shocking service really but the waiting staff seemed to want to be somewhere else. Again, this is my experience.

Took our youngest here for his birthday and we weren’t disappointed. The husband and son chose chicken starters while I had Halloumi fingers with a wonderful spicy sauce. Steaks for the guys were cooked as requested and served with decently cut chips and my vegetarian sausage and mash was hot and filling. We managed to save some space for puddings and I thoroughly recommend the sticky toffee sponge with custard. The staff were polite and friendly and the space warm. The only thing I’d change was having to queue for drinks during the meal, twice my son had people push in front of him while he waited to be served, the whole time his food was getting cold. Unfortunately our seats were next to the toilets and a rather unpleasant but not entirely unexpected smell twice drifted our way.

Came here for breakfast and were told all of the Covid measures in place. Table was clean and tidy when we sat down. Staff were friendly and polite. You have to wait awhile for food to arrive so bear that in mind as it has reduced staff in kitchen. Our breakfasts were really delicious and enjoyable, but I’ve knocked a star off as I found it a pain to have the breakfast burrito in a basket and not a plate. Once or twice it nearly tipped out and the sauce from the beans saturated the paper the burrito was on and it ripped and got mixed in with the contents so I had to keep picking the paper out. All in all a nice experience, just hope they take my suggestion on board :)

After my review below i decided to go back again and i must say food was spot on this time good portion , time from ordering excellent the halloumi fries omg the batter was most excellent , would recommend again locally. Been many times and always decent but after recent visit wasn't impressed person in front tried to order stuff two items they didn't have , I placed order i couldn't have mixed grill as no steak , but I order a steak 🤔 12 chips arrived with it and peas where cold , for nearly 12 quid , wanted two Coke zero , no Coke zero and this was at 5.30 on a Saturday

I've rewrote my review from a scathing review to this. Last couple of times has been a great experience, gods teeth you've still got a wait from hell trying to order from the bar but food has been prompt, filling and tasty and the rest of the experience has been good. Menu gets improved every 3 months or so. Cutlery nice and clean. Management have vastly improved this pub from my previous experiences.

Great pub experience here. Friendly staff, fun locals and plenty of stuff going on. Always have live sports showing, plus a band on at weekends. Food is as you'd expect, and a good range of drinks for a decent price. Would recommend you check it out 👌

Visited Friday night sat in the bar for food because it’s supposed to be over 18s only unfortunately there were numerous children in there some who looked to be about 5 years old I have had an answer thank you for your review but nothing about we will look into this as children are not supposed to be in the bar area

7 of us from Ignite Church, Lincoln, went to the crown and arrows to play darts and then participate in the pub quiz. We had a great laugh and enjoyed our time in the new over 18's area. I totally understand why they've turned a section into a child free area but I believe they'll lose customers come the warm weather with no park now to entertain kids... but then it may work better as families will leave quicker meaning the tables will be filled more often...

The foods good and the whole experience is stress free. If you want to take the kids there's a great section for entertaining them and a sports end (our favourite) for older kids and grownups. Love the Quadzilla burger. N.B. New menu crown of burgers looked challenging.

We went to this pub on Friday to have breakfast . Looking at the breakfast menu i could see that the prices were very reasonable . I ordered a large breakfast for myself and a full english for my wife including extra black pudding , toast for my wife ( mine was included ) and two coffees and to my amazement the bill was just over £13 . Brilliant value for money , excellent food and very friendly staff . I would certainly recommend this place to anyone not only for breakfast but for other food too which we have tried in the past

We recently had a booking outdoors for a family birthday, all was explained by the manager regarding rules etc. No problems at all and we thoroughly enjoyed it. First time out since the easing of Lockdown 2.0, food was tasty, drinks were nice and cold. The staff were helpful and the weather was lovely and sunny with little to no breeze, it was for the most part a lovely experience, aside from the gentleman whom I'd assume was a regular who was chain smoking on the table in front of us... As there was no breeze the smoke hung around and the smell too... There was a dedicated area to smoke but I guess the rules didn't apply to this gentleman, as the staff seemed to turn a blink eye... In summary, lovely food, refreshing beverages and pleasant staff, well worth the visit.

So yesterday me an my friend went here for he birthday for food. We both had the chicken new yorker. I noticed my chicken looked a little pink but assumed it was the bbq sauce as it was dark inside the pub. We then get home and our bellys were off so we assumed it was just a mix of different things that we are personally going through. When I got home I threw up a bit of my dinner but assumed I ate too fast. This morning I've been throwing up non stop my friend has been throwing up. Little to our surprise we had food poisoning. As an ex chef I must say I couldn't find 1 fault with the meals we had, and there was 5 of us. Nice atmosphere although a bit hot with the heating which meant going outside every 5 minutes. And having mobility issues meant I struggled. But other than that we will be back again soon.

Social distancing measures in place are good. Staff very polite. Unfortunately though on a curry night there’s no rice Then went to order deserts and there’s no chocolate fudge cake and no syrup sponge so we didn’t have one as there was nothing else anyone liked. We do find the dessert choices quite poor as there’s only 7 and 2 of them are candy mania type sundaes. Quite why the manager couldn’t use some initiative and pop across the road to the Sainsbury’s Supermarket for rice I don’t know. As regular customers we were disappointed, so it will be a good while before we make a return visit as this is not the 1st time it has happened

Typical pub/food chain offering meal deals. Recent renovation work has raised facility standards to make it a lot better, food menu is varied and typically good quality and on the large portion side. Only slight downside is that some clientele can be a little noisy and use it for the pub aspect, so seating positions can sometimes be important if you want a quiet family meal.

The prices and food here are great! It is a chain pub popular with family's helped with the reasonable prices and large portions. I managed to complete the Atomic wing challenge and got them for free so I am pleased, and they weren't too firey!

Brilliant staff great ambience and a fantastic head for running a restaurant bar. We arrived as a party of 16 were seated with plenty of space. The staff were meticulous in terms of food orders and were well informed about the food they sold. Please be aware that this establishment is not table service so all ordering must be done at the bar.

We arranged a wake here for a small party of 12. The buffet was perfect. Very good value. Staff were helpful, but service was slow as only one person behind bar. No draft beer as staff member who changes barrels was on a day off!

Really like it here, but why do they ALWAYS bring your food out and then go back for cutlery? How hard can it be to think to give customers cutlery BEFORE their food so they don't get to watch the food cool for several minutes before they get anything to eat it with?

This place is much improved since its refit. The beer is now well kept and often they have 3 real ales on tap, this is not something the previous management had mastered. The food is reasonable and its now quite family friendly. Previously the bar and food area was one large zone but now all the fights happen in the bar and you can watch from a safe distance. This place offers unrivalled people watching opportunities and its just like that channel 4 show where you can have a laugh at people's terrible tattoos.

I booked a table for today with my family when we arrived was welcomed and felt straight at home and felt safe was informed we can either order via the green king app or at bar we chose the bar I just wanna say to the staff you are fantastic not only was the food brilliant but the bar staff was laughing and joking with customers which was nice to see even when me and my partner went to the bar there was a issue with the till but was moved to another to make sure no delay in ordering I believe the bar maid was called paige very helpful and friendly would recommend this pub to anyone best meal I have had in a long time very good value for money will return when next up visiting family from table 14 on 30/8/20 ment to be 5PM booking

Food was just ok, not awful, not brilliant. The menu is double A4 size and at first glance looks to have plenty of choice but on closer inspection the offers aren't that good e.g. Thursdays get a free starter or pudding - but only if you buy the largest meal. The ' Golden' choices (better phrase than OAP) are very limited and quite small and some dishes are duplicated e.g. in one place as a standard size, in the '2 for £whatever' as a half size. Lasagne was ok although green dressing with it was sour, another dish with chicken breast and bacon, the bacon was almost raw. So don't think we'll be in a hurry to return.

Decent pub food. They have made the pub into 2 separate areas so that families and kids are allowed in one side and adults only in the other. That sounds good but on the occasion we went there the adult side was unfortunately full of people who simple had too much to drink. You get them everywhere I suppose but at least they are confined to one area in this pub.

My mum and I visited here for a meal, we ordered from the two for £7.99 option at lunchtime. I had scampi mum had chicken new yorker. The portions were of a good size and very nice. We had dessert afterwards they cost 99p each. I paid for them at the bar. The waitress came to our table about 5 mins latet and informed us they only had one left and I could choose another dessert for the same price, which I did. The food and service was very good we will definitely be returning again well done.

Visited a couple of weeks ago to have Sunday lunch with my husband. Was enjoyable other than it was only just warm and carrots were hard. Waitress came over (i think she was head waitress) asked if everything OK and if it is hot and before we could open our mouth to answer she had gone. Noticed she was quick with everyone so she never actually got a reply off anyone then didn't see her anymore. My husband didn't like the idea of all the meal in the Yorkshire pudding but i didn't mind as at least got plenty of Yorkshire. We did like the refurb tho. Looked very nice. My husband sed it was still slow on ordering at the bar like it always has been so that has not changed. It is a shame as that does spoil it as visited many times and we always say how slow the ordering system is.

Visited the pub for the first time since a refit was done. Just a few more seated areas placed but looks a bit too crammed together. For the food it was OK but not value for money which is disappointing. My granddaughter wanted the big ice cream dessert but it looked nothing like it was shown on the menu card. And for the price one big disappoinment. You got I would say 6 to 7 scoops of ice cream abit of squirty cream and sauce for a not worth it £7-49.And finally like all pubs the heating was 1000c in temperature so you drank more. Get the hint.

I didn't plan to go I was passing through from Cleethorpes Mini festival to go back home to Cambridge. We were suprised when I looked at the menu that Sunday lunch was Roast chicken or Beef dinner for £ 5.00 I was wondering why it was so busy. when the meal came it had 2 large breast pieces and 6 vegetables a feast. the staff were busy with the service. I said it was a pity that they 75 miles away from home otherwise I would be a regular. Do try it out if you can. I was told it was part of the Hungry Horse Chain..I'm going to search online.

No baby changing in male or female toilets, it is separate through the over 18 bar area which kind of defeats the over 18 bar area.
