T. W.Really cool atmosphere with two stories and lots of plants (not real but hey, looked real to me), cool interior design stuff and a hip and trendy vibe while still feeling cosy.
Had a vegetarian hanging kebab. It was good, but not exceptional. But good enough to want to come back if I'm ever in Lincoln again.
They also have many different drinks and a proper bar.
Also a big plus for giving excellent service, everyone was very helpful and welcoming.
Also good for people who need gluten free food.
T. P.The Botanist is a great place to go for food and a few drinks. The menu is large with lots of options for veggies/vegans. I love the Sunday roasts, they're fab quality and come with most of the trimmings. I would absolutely recommend getting the cauliflower cheese side. It tastes amazing and the cheese pull is superb. Usually, I get the halloumi hanging kebab, also a top recommend (skips the sweet chilli fries though as they can be a little too sickly sweet).
I don't think you can eat at The Botanist without getting a cocktail. They're dangerously easy to drink, but well worth the money. I'd love to visit just for cocktails in the downstairs bar area, perhaps on one of the event nights.
The staff are friendly and service is usually quick, even during busy times. Sometimes the food is on the cooler side, but it always tastes great. If it wasn't for this, I'd give the place 5 stars.
S. S.We had booked the table in advance, which was a big help as it was a busy Sunday lunch. We were seated immediately. My husband had a birthday badge on, so every member of staff we came into contact with enthusiastically wished him a happy birthday which was so lovely.
All staff were welcoming and professional.
We ordered fro the Sunday roast menu and the halloumi kebab, with a few sides.
Service speed was more than reasonable for the amount we ordered during a busy service.
Food quality was excellent.
Staff were more than happy to bring extra table condiments without extra charge.
J. A.I was brought here for my birthday after hearing great things. The wait for drinks and food was a little long, but it was worth the wait. The hanging kebabs are great along with the chips. Nice selection of drinks and an amazing venue.
L. D.We started our meal with two glasses of cocktails. The barman was amazing and so nice. Then, we got a hanging Kebab and a hanging shish. I liked the kebab more than the shish, however, both were delicious. The bar is so clean and everyone is friendly
M. F.The bar is charming. Beers on tap are great. Ordered a medium rib eye steak, it was perfect as a grilled meat but not as a steak. The cheesecake was very tasty. The service was kind and attentive.
D. A.Superb welcome and above-scrumptious food at this city centre restaurant with some of the friendliest staff I've ever met. To think that I'd just come off a six and a half hour hour cycle from Sheffield when I called - definitely the best re-ruelling station I could ask for to get me back home.

T. L.Came here for a lovely bottomless brunch, I've been to several throughout the city and this is definitely the best so far. The meal was great, filling and of superb quality, the drinks were also very good - although I would avoid the blood orange spritz. We weren't waiting very long at all for refills of drinks, the decor and staff were amazing.

B. T.Only stopped for a cocktail on a sunny day but the drinks are cold and well made. The bar girl seems to know her stuff with the cocktails. Plenty of seating both inside and out. Outdoor tables extend into the street for a good atmosphere. The lighting inside is dim but works well with the decor to create a very cool vibe. Will be back for food and more drinks.
K.Eivie was brilliant very friendly and warm, never been to a Botanist the food was beautiful especially the chilli garlic prawns and scotch egg on starter and the Pork Belly hanging kebab!
S. W.Really enjoyed a great meal and cocktails for a weekday treat. The scotch egg and garlic bread starters were to die for!! Absolutely amazing!! The hanging kebabs were so good too, great presentation and tasted fab. The new watermelon summer cocktail was lovely, really refreshing, almost like a fizzy sparkling flavoured water but alcoholic so perfect for a hot day. We also tried the dark chocolate peanut butter pot for dessert despite being almost too full to move but simply because the pictures on instagram looked fantastic and it completely lived up to expectations. Will absolutely be coming back and totally recommend here. The decor is fantastic and service was perfect. Our waitress was very lovely and helpful throughout.

Service was great, quick efficient and very friendly. If you can get a table upstairs in the window you get a good view of the square below for a bit of people watching.

Only criticism I found was my 4 years had the cheeseburger which was a little dry and the cheese seemed quite strong for a small persons pallet, she didn't eat much of it. She did demolish the chips and beans though. Desserts were amazing, my wife had the dark chocolate and peanut butter one... Amazing!

Super happy staff that were attentive and polite, with incredibly fresh food. It made the whole experience a real pleasure, especially with our table host (so sorry we didn't catch your name!). Leagues ahead of the Sheffield and Leeds locations.

However, in all honesty you could get just as good food elsewhere for the price in Lincoln- There are so many smaller run great places to eat! However, the staff go above and beyond with their services. Plus they don't set their prices, that's the company/franchise.

L. R.Beautiful Sunday lunch , we opted for the belly pork with 4 sides to share, while my boyfriend's son had burger and sweet chilli fries. Our server Lily was friendly and professional as was the young man who brought our main meals to us. The food was delicious and very generous portions and we weren't waiting to long for it either.

My son is it frequent visitor, he is vegan and enjoys the vegan options very much. It was my first time visiting. The food is delicious and well presented. I had the most gorgeous dessert the cheesecake with mango sorbet and strawberries! Yummy!
The staff were very attentive an welcoming. The surroundings and ambiance so homely.

The man that served us was very knowledgeable about what was available and quickly listed the non-alcoholic options, making recommendations as he went. The staff were very attentive & pleasant,the food was amazing and we all enjoyed the experience.

k. s.Out for a lunchtime celebration. This was my first visit. We decided to have the hanging kebabs one garlic oil and the other without the garlic oil exchange for sweet chili... We upgraded to the chilli fries on one and the chunky fries on the other ordered the mini season salad, onion petals and coleslaw. My daughter found all of it very nice. My daughter seemed to enjoy hers and said it was very nice. She did leave a bit of the hanging kebab. So for me the hanging kebab was very peppered and I'm not sure what else was on it. One of my onion pieces should not have been on the kebab. It was more skin than onion. But overall the kebab was nice. Only get the chunky fries if you're feeling hungry, otherwise stick to the chips/ fries. The Caesar salad is so heavily garlic and seasoned, grilled lettuce has a nice taste. Coleslaw is really nice. Have to say it seems to have a lot of mustard seeding again, seemed overly seasoned. Onion petals definitely recommend a upgraded alternative to onion rings they are in a Salty maybe chilli seasoning comes with creme fresh but really nice. Our server if I remember correctly with Charlotte. She was lovely. Offered recommendations, drinks served quickly. If you don't like too much ice do say cos they come very iced but I don't mind that there's personal preference. Overall I would go back. I would pick an alternative meal but I would try the kebab again as they'll have different chefs which are different seasoning levels to the food.
M. S.Food was really nice, as were the drinks. Very tasty cocktails which looked as great as they tasted. They had lived music on, which was of a very good standard, however, it was also being pumped through speakers throughout the rest of the restaurant, which was a little bit too loud making it difficult to have a conversation. Will definitely be back again, but please turn the volume down on the speakers!
R. Y.Been there only twice, but the carvery blew us away. I didn't realise you could do fine finning carvery. The food n service r second to none. Always busy so book before hand. An excellent special occasion place. Highly recommend.

Great for families as they have a kids meal deal costing £6.95 with a good selection - ours had the chicken fingers and chips and chocolate brownie. They came beautifully presented. I definitely recommend the salt and pepper chicken wings for starters!

S. M.Maybe its because of the restrictions, I was excited to come here as its on my doorstep, but I'm not sure how to describe it. The staff were okay I didn't see much of there personality they seemed a bit fed up! No friendliness, but thats what I saw it could be different with other guests? I've been to other botanist and really enjoyed it. The food was good we had the hot board and a couple of the starter/nibbles. The cocktails didn't seem strong enough for me and came out very quickly as if they were pre-made. Limited choice of beers they had an oktoberfest menu up online, but when we enquired there was only 1 choice! Just didn't stand up to my expectations and no atmosphere.
R. M.I had the cheeseburger, it was so yummy and cheesy. It comes with fries, not too thin not very chunky, just in the middle, you can taste the pepper and a hint of garlic powder in the fries. If you prefer the fries very salty you should ask coz it is fairly salted, just perfect for me. Seatings are great and the place in general so romantic and lively.

We tried the vegan starter board, which includes a sweet potato hummus, a truffle gnocchi, a pie, a salad and a cauliflower wings. Everything was delicious. On top of that we ordered a meat burger and a vegan burger. The vegan one was specially good. It is also worth it to mention how gorgeous the decoration is, I felt in love with all the details. We will come back for sure ☺️
h.We joined a couple of friends for lunch today. Staff were very nice and polite. Food, drinking service was good BUT unfortunately we couldn't hear our conversation because of the loud music. I can understand it perhaps in the evening, not at lunch time. We really struggled to have a conversation.

A.First visit today. My what a beautiful delightful place. Lovely menu, new for the festive season. The Turkey hanging kebab was delicious and generous portion. The staff were nice and so welcoming. I cannot wait to visit again.
J. L.Have been here a few times now and great food, wide selection of drinks and a really nice atmosphere. Service is good and serving staff are lovely. Only down side is first impressions, the door bouncer has a bit of a god complex (if it was a nightclub I'd understand but not really required for a restaurant) and the staff on front desk come across as ignorant and alittle arrogant. But if you can get past these two aspects what awaits you is a great experience.
C. P.Went specially for a meal and was pleased to find the dining area on a different level to the bar. The bar had music which we could hear whilst eating but because it was downstairs it was not too loud. Full marks for the food. It excellent. We all tried different hanging kebabs which where cooked to perfection, we also had a child's burger. The presentation of this made his head turn. This was soon devoured. The waiter service was top draw as well. Nice friendly and obliging staff. The only downside was the fact the lift was not working and we had someone with mobility difficulties.
Will definitely be going back.

M. C.Front of house staff - very poor customer service. Both times, the barman ran upstairs to get her as we'd been waiting at the door for several minutes. Waiting staff were friendly and very helpful though.
Food was not bad. Calamari was overcooked, which was a shame as the flavour profile and garnish were bang on. Hanging kebabs are a bit of fun but very tasty too. We'd possibly go again but it'd be a pop in for a spare table job and if not, somewhere else. We wouldn't book to make a night of it. Shame really - it could be so good as it's a lovely environment and very relaxing.

Booked the previous night & managed to get the first slot at 10am which was good - the staff were very attentive and gave us good advice on some of the things to pick!
My partner was missing a small bit of bread but they made up with bringing a whole plate of extra!
We really really enjoyed the whole meal and will be back ASAP, but in a taxi so we can have free drinks

D. S.First impressions weren’t so good. We got sat downstairs for drinks and were told after 12 o’clock we’ll be handed a menu. 10 minutes had passed and we were still left wondering, so got up and asked, to which a young lady said we eat upstairs, and drinks downstairs. So why did the small male tell us different? Anyways, as we passed this same male I noticed he rolled his eyes, he had some real attitude. So? I assume he’s new?
Meal was ordered, and it came pretty quick and was served by a very pleasant young lady. The meal was lovely and if it wasn’t for the greeting I’d give 5 stars.
Paid and walked down the stairs and said thanks to the same duo that greeted us in the beginning. The young lady was very friendly, but the small male rolled his eyes again. Here’s a tip my friend, if you can’t give good customer service then perhaps quit before you do the restaurant damage? Every other member of staff we encountered were extremely friendly, but for some reason this guy wasn’t. So I assume he’s new?
Aside from all the above, another pet hate (aside from bad customer service) was every plant was plastic, not a single living specimen anywhere. Was a shame as a horticulturist, I was hoping something real.

L. G.Really enjoyed my time. The place has a great atmosphere, lots of plants. Me and my girlfriend shared the chicken and chorizo and lamb kofta kebab skewers and they were both full of flavour. I personally would recommend the lamb kofta over the chicken but that's because it's a bit more spicy. We also had the jasmine and elderflower mojito and the strawberry and elderflower mojito which was my favourite. To finish we had a sticky toffee pudding each which was a great finish to the meal. It's probably one of the better restaurants in Lincoln, I think it's worth it.
R. S.I think this is great new addition to the Cornhill Exchange area. The venue is really cool and the menu, though not huge has a good variety and their famous hanging kebabs are delicious.
Good list of cocktails, gins and wine, with pairing advice for each meal so that's a nice addition.
A little on the pricey side at £8-£10 per drink would bey only negative, but still, the girlfriend and I had a nice evening and we'll definitely head back.

We had starters & a main that was nicely presented in a more unique way to other places. We only visited because they had a 25% off for certain days in September that made the bill more pleasing and realistic hence on a Monday lunchtime it was very busy. Not sure I would pay the normal menu prices unless a special occasion but with special offers on it is definately worth a visit as it offers Lincoln something different and with the times.
