What a fantastic place!!! Gorgeous food and a lovely atmosphere. Friendly attentive staff. This pub is definitely worth a visit

Really wanted this to be a five star rave review. The pub was nice and the staff were accommodating. Unfortunately the food was not quite in line with cost and therefore expectation. My daughter's burger was char grilled, no problem, but left hard and chewy around the edges to the point she couldn't eat it. Staff response was spot on though with the cost coming off the bill, really can't fault that! Unfortunately my partner's meal was also not great. It was bank holiday and they were busy which may have impacted on those two meals. The rainbow burger I had was very good and my son said his food was fine too. A 4 or 5 star rating needs us all to be happy with the food though.

Good service, good food, we did go on a Monday dinner time though. So can't comment bout what it would be like on a busy night service. Just off the main road, ample parking. Also a beer garden again can't comment didn't go out but it looked well laid out, comfortable and ample seating as well as a decked area as soon as you walk out. Didn't take any photos of the food unfortunately, it's the last thing I think about when the plate is put in front of me. Could maybe of done with another staff member on, as it started getting busy but he did seem too cope. We left happy diners 😋👍

Friendly pub with a good atmosphere and really good 'pub' food. The outdoor seating area is good, but it's quite close to a major road junction. It felt a bit expensive, but that's just a reflection of the high costs that pubs are having to cope with. If we want our local pubs to survive the next year or so we need to support them as much as possible. We'll definitely go again when we're next in Lincoln.

Went here for my friend's birthday yesterday, staff friendly and polite. We sat down near the toilets, which is fine if your drains or something in the toilets didn't let off such a horrendous smell of sewage. OMG it's bad I had to use the ladies and a was gagging whilst in there. You need to sort them ASAP!!!! Or don't sit people next to them. Food lovely really was but no one wants to feel like eating food with that stench. Will return but will ask for to Table away from them and use disabled ones or are they the same? They were clean just bad odour problem. There was plenty of other tables should of asked to move !!don't sit people near toilets

First date night in years and what a lovely place to end up. Booking on-line was simple , had a quick look at the menu and couldn't decide as the choice was brilliant. Parking was easy, loads of space in the car park. Once inside the venue is tastefully decorated, looks trendy, modern twist on the traditional. Greeting from the bar person was ok, apart from the gum chewing!! Young lady that saw us to our seat was really friendly and took our orders quickly once seated. Simple starter, chicken strips...We both chose burgers...lazy but proper comfort food. Great presentation and tastes amazing. I even managed to find room for a dessert which I normally don't bother with :-) Really impressed with over all and will definitely be calling back.

Although it was fathers day we were able to get a table for two. The food was quick arriving. But the piecwas hard I had difficulty trying to cut it. And the carrots were hard so were the green beans. So was very disappointed with the meal!

The best fish and chips I've ever had from a pub they were up there with the standards of a fish and chip shop, I was just unfortunate that I got a couple of bones. Very good quality Sunday roast dinner. After some initial teething issues a few months ago the online ordering/scanning system has become very robust, had no problem this time around or the last few times. I've eaten here around 10 times now, tried the pies and burgers as well as the roast dinners and am still yet to have a disappointing meal. Plenty of outdoor seating too.

Nice decor and a reasonable choice on the menu plus a specials board. The meals were very very good and tasty, good value for money and nicely presented. Service is reasonable and fairly quick. It has a car park too which is very useful in the city centre. Unfortunately, if one chooses to sit out on the terrace it is assumed that you will be a thief and everything ordered, even if multiple orders of drinks and meal courses, must be paid for in advance and this badly lets it down. Sitting inside is no guarantee of payment, one can still easily just get up and leave so I don't understand the thinking. Additionally, I had already given my car registration as the car park has penalty charges if not a customer so I am easily traceable and I had parked, I think, the newest and, definitely, most expensive car in their car park but was still being publicly branded a likely thief - not good customer relations really. I even offered to leave a card ( in fact a card wallet with 5 cards in it ) behind the bar but was still considered untrustworthy.

This was such a great meal during Eat Out to Help Out! Safe environment with good precautions and notices to guide customers to stay safe. Friendly service and the food was amazing. This is a right gem of a place in the heart of Lincoln. I've been coming here regularly, pre and post lockdown. The service has always been excellent. I wasn't a fan of the app which was used during the restrictions but was just as happy to get out. Great wine selection, food is amazing and the staff are very attentive. I always come out feeling like we have paid a fair price for a great experience. Keep doing what your doing.

On a day when it couldn't have been much wetter unless maybe we'd gone for a swim in the river, the rain hadn't dampened the spirits of the team at this lovely city centre pub/restaurant. We were warm and dry under one of their many covered outdoor dining options. With parking on site and a warm and hearty bourgignon to die for we couldn't have had a lovelier lunchtime. Thank you to all the team who looked after us today and enabled us to have a lovely lunch with my much loved dad - he hadn't seen his grandson since Christmas and you made our day by being open and helping us catch up over lunch.

Really enjoyed the food and company tonight. There was a vegan only menu which I only found out at lunch time which we had to try! The service was a little slow but expected with the change in serving and the staff was very apologetic. Everything was presented beautifully and everyone was really friendly. We left completely stuffed and practically rolled back to the car. Electric car charging was a bonus, CCS at 22kw is the quickest in Lincoln by far (25p a kw) but you'll need to use the pub to avoid parking charges. Looking forward to another visit.

We booked a table for five for a Christmas Lunch. What a fantastic find. The table was beautifully decorated with a garland of holly and crackers for each of us. I had a starter of ham hock with bread and piccalilli. It was delicious. Beautifully presented and very tasty. The main was a traditional Christmas meal. It was stunning to both look at to taste! Couldn't fault it. The server Connor was attentive and efficient and saw to our every need. Christmas pudding was fabulous, again and beautifully presented. I cannot fault a single thing. Very friendly warm atmosphere and was enjoyed by each and every one of us. A big Thank You to all of the staff. Merry Christmas!!

HOWEVER - the service took forever - two hours for lunch for two people. took them ten minutes to bring us a menu, then twenty minutes to swing by to take an order. then another twenty for the starter. then another half hour for the meals.. I can't explain why. it wasn't even busy. it was lunch not dinner. had to several times flag wait staff for a refill or just for general service. I'd go back because it was very good food and I'd like to give service a second try. but if it's just as slow, nope! never again!

A very popular venue for a Sunday lunch for us. Never been disappointed with the quality of food, choices on the menu and specials board. The service is excellent and the prices are very reasonable. There are car parking spaces on site but if full there are plenty of pay and display car parks close by.

I booked a table for 19 people for a retirement party for a colleague for Sat 6 Jul 19. I liaised effortlessly with Tom throughout and returned the menu selections to him. The food was simply amazing. The whole party enjoyed it and the presentation was wonderful. The service was wonderful and very professional. The staff could not do enough to ensure the evening went smoothly. They were very well presented, polite and looked very happy in their work. Even when 3 sadly had to call off at the last minute, Tom was absolutely fine with it. He understood that this can happen. The establishment itself has a very comfortable interior and is tastefully decorated. Very clean too. A mention has to go to the hard working front of house staff: Tom, Emily, Conor, Leah and Becca. An equally much earned mention to the kitchen staff of Nick, Taka, Calum and Conor for the gorgeous food and obvious pride and effort they put into each dish. Well worth the 5 stars.

This is a quite fancy British Pub with a full scale kitchen and hot meal offering. The menu is quite extensive. I had the fish and chips which was not as great as the other dishes. It may be worth to go for something more special here. Staff was really ice and attentive. I would opt for a reservation esp on weekends.

We really enjoy the Horse and Groom normally but visited this time on a Sunday. The food was not to its normal standard. It looks like they concentrate on the Sunday lunch trade and even their (normally very good) home made pies suffered. Still a nice place to eat and I will be back - but perhaps not a Sunday. Great little pub in the heart of Lincoln. Went here for a bite to eat, the menu is pretty good, there was a little issue with a delay on one of our main meals which meant everyone got their food apart from one of the group, they offered us a 33% discount on the food which was good. Theres a pub quiz on Tuesday night which we entered and won, good atmosphere and the pub was really busy as well

Love this pub. Some of the best food in Lincoln and it's usually quiet during the day. Hand made burgers are easily better than any I've had in the city and you get chips and onion rings for a tenner. Find it hard to go elsewhere now.
