Reviews of The Railway Inn

First time I've been to this pub, went with and to watch my favourite band play, Relentless Rockabilly, The landlord and landlady were extremely friendly and made us feel extremely welcome. Great atmosphere, friendly locals. The band went down a storm. Great night was had by all. Will definitely go again.

Food always very nice. Recommended booking a table due to the size of the pub. Fish and chips popular on a Friday. Liver and onions so nice to find somewhere who does it well

The pub is small but the staff are super friendly. The food is amazing and drinks are really well priced.
Portions are amazing and food is such good value. We have been several times and even taken the kids which was good. There are no kid portions but our two split a meal which worked great. Pay for drinks in the bar and food in the restaurant.

Took our grandson there today for an early birthday meal. Excellent food, friendly staff and good value for money. We had the Jumbo fish and chips and my wife had the steak pie with new potatoes and veg

We were treated to a meal by friends.
All four of us went.
The food was brilliant, well cooked and plentiful.
The service could not be faulted and we did by it feel rushed.
An excellent experience all round
I would recommend to anyone.

Most excellent. The menu says hand cut chips. It's correct, it doesn't say, that many chips you will struggle to eat em all.
I had the double cheeseburger. It was brilliant. (add the egg, it makes all the difference).
Well done to all.
Timmy Taylors ale was also great.
Thank you.

Came across the Railway Inn on our travels and so glad we did.
Lovely sunday roast.
Generous portions of meat and a good selection of veggies and sides. Not forgetting the delicious gravy.
The bar and carvery were very busy, but the staff managed to make us feel welcome and we were well looked after and our meals were served in good time.
We will be in the area again in october and look forward to a return visit to the Railway Inn.

Nice small pub next to a railway line too so you can do a bit of train spotting while you drink (:

Stayed here in our motorhome, there is a nice grassy field behind the pub, £10 per night plus another fiver if you want electric hook up. Toilet and shower.
Friendly staff, good atmosphere.
We had the Wednesday lunch, which is 2 set courses for 6 quid. Lovely home cooked food, we had minced beef and onion pie, chips or mash, peas, carrots and gravy followed by apple crumble and custard.
