Stunning traditional pub near the Cathedral quarter. Huge selection of pump real ales with friendly, polite and knowledgeable staff. Busy but enough room to find a seat and space including a outdoor courtyard. Excellent choices and very impressive.

A wonderful neighbourhood real ale authentic pub. Frequent CAMRA award winner and wide selection of cask ales from uk breweries . Small quiet bar with friendly staff. To the rear a beer Garden. On the night I was there a blues guitarist was playing. What can I say … seek it out . It’s off the tourist track a few minutes away from Bailgate . Pop in and see the beautiful Lincoln water tower while nearby . It looks like a church !

Small pub with a large selection of real ales, this place can get busy with tourists visiting the city. It is close to the castle and cathedral with an easy walk, if coming from the town centre be prepared for a fairly steep climb. Inside the pub is a huge collection of beer mats arranged along the walls and stuck to the ceiling some are quite humerous. There is a specials board with a list of the ales on tap. Overall if in the area go to this pub for a decent pint.

Would have given 5 stars. Fabulous old style pub with brilliant selection of beers. Visited on 3 night stay. Barman excellent and really friendly and helpful. But barmaid on Sunday night spoke really rudely to us because I was watching a family video on my phone from a wedding which was only 2 minutes long. Was told that the customers didn't wish to hear this and it was causing a disturbance!!!. Horrified! It was so trivial and embarrassing in front of customers and ruined a really good experience of this lovely pub.

A proper real ale pub with 10 hand pulls. Three regular beers (Abbott, Tribute and Landlord) and 7 varying guest ales which always include one session ale (sub-4%), one dark (porter or stout, occasionally mild or black IPA), and one strong ale (5% or above). A beer lover's paradise!

Basically, it's the amazing beers that attract such a faithful band of followers, as well as the landlady's personality. That didn't stop her filling my flat cap with Porter when she was about to top up my glass. She was embarrassed but couldn't stop laughing, along with the rest of the pub. To give her her due, though, she did wash and tumble dry it before we left! It's unique, this place.

Great pub with excellent beers. There was a duo playing when we arrived so there was loads of atmosphere and the landlady and member of staff serving were absolutely fantastic! We only went in for one, but stayed for many more. I would highly recommend popping in if you're in Lincoln.

Always great Real ale's on sale. Staff very knowledgeable and are always happy to offer advice and you can ask for a small taster, to see if the ale suits your pallet. Very friendly local traditional English pub. They serve bar snacks, sandwiches and limited hot food (sausage rolls). Paved beer garden is a veritable sun trap.

The best place by far for ale has won best ale of the year on several occasions, small inside but has 2 sections and it has a pretty garden. Some very strong ale has numerous guest ales at the moment its Black Jesus at 6.5% and it's delicious well recommended.

A pub run by real ale drinkers for real ale drinkers. The Strugglers — the charming sign pictures a man at the gallows — is one of the few pubs that know how to keep beer properly. Bonus: the Landlady runs a very tight ship; no louts allowed.

This has to be the cosiest most friendly pub in this fine city of Lincoln.Altough the bar is on the small side, ( & the lounge even smaller! ) what it lacks in size is more than made up with charming clientele, imaginative decor, & supportive staff who serve from a selection of 10 ales in addition to the usual wines, spirits, mixers etc .Live music is featured on most week-ends, which I am sure would only add to the ambience.Check this pub out - you will not be disappointed.

A very traditional pub that offers a plethoria of real ales that encompass most drinkers tastes.Upon entering at lunchtime a warm real coal fire and happy atmosphere was completed by my selection of a real ale that I selected from a blackboard containing numerous choices.Such a difference from musak inspired mass produced alcoholic offerings elsewhere-long may the Strugglers continue!!
