Love this place! As the last of the traditional Yates, it's great at what it does. Cheap beer, smiling barmaids and great for the mature customer. I started last Friday in Yates, Queen Sq, modern Yates, food and drinks in a modern style, but ended in The Blob Shop, large Aussie Whites, pub full, great atmosphere and a live singer, loved it!

Very impressed with the refurbishment great modern look but still managing to keep its character marvellous bar staff service very quick was served within two minutes even though I was in a party of 11! It was 6pm on a Monday and the place was alight with great entertainment and old school fun the bar staff were extremely accommodating and welcoming and we will certainly make the blob our first port of call when visiting Liverpool city centre in the future....highly recommended

Exceptionally cheap in this age of being right royally ripped off in city centre establishments. Yates's was once a Liverpool institution, sawdust on the floor, short glasses of aussie whites, not what it used to be but the blob is about a close as to can get now. Worth it for the regulars who will keep you entertained just people watching.
