It’s lovely to see a pub doing really well. The staff where very accommodating and the atmosphere was great. Plenty of choice on the menu at very reasonable prices. We will be back to watch sports, you can see a tv from anywhere in the pub. Clean and crisp.

I’m in the customer service industry, I would always provide positive fair criticism/review. The pub is decked out as good as I’ve seen it, it’s fresh and ready for certainly for big things. The food is really good there. Basic customer service is about making people feel good and so it is frustrating when we visit that at sometimes it seems a chore for bar staff who receive none of the tips to look like they don’t want to be there and look miserable. A smile goes a long way for returning customers on what is such a fantastic venue!

Great Formby pub to watch the football, great selection of drinks and the food was of a really good standard. Loads of room in the pub, it has a really good local vibe to it. The staff were great very friendly and welcoming.

I've been coming here all throughout the last year as it's most covid safe pub I've been to. The manager and the staff have received the worst abuse from the worst of society on the regular just for doing their job the way they've been told to. Seems like lots of people have felt the need to take out their own frustrations on retail and bar staff but Carol and the team always deal with it brilliantly. Thanks for providing a welcoming place to have a few drinks, it's very much appreciated by a lot of people.

Great place for food and atmosphere, feels safe as all Covid guidelines are adhered to at all times. Manager and all the team are friendly and helpful. I've seen people being very rude to the staff due to having to wear masks and adhere to the Government's rules!

We had a very nice lunch here, although as most eateries are doing, the menu was reduced, there was still plenty to choose from. I had the chicken and bacon salad, it was delicious and plenty of it. The social distancing was good and we all felt very safe, the staff were very attentive throughout our time there.

Had a football trophy do here outside Carol the manager made sure we had all food and drinks organised for adults and kids and the staff looked after us really well that good we are doing it all again next weekend thank you to you and all your staff. Also so felt so safe with all the Covid rules all in place.

Lovely big well kept / managed pub. Nice beer gardens front and back. Areas for functions to be held that don't encroach on main pub. TV screens in all positions so you can always see one is you want. Can't comment on food never had anything to eat. Cheap drinks with selection of real ales. Nice atmosphere.

We were pleasantly surprised by the Grapes Hotel which has a large dining / bar area and provided an excellent meal at a very reasonable price. The lovely Amanda looked after us and saw to our every need in a friendly and efficient manner. Definitely worth a visit - you won't be disappointed.

Not what it used to be. This place use to be a very popular pub in Formby, and often 6 deep at the bar (which is sizable). Nowadays the crowds seem to always be elsewhere and today there are rarely 2 dozen people in there. Surprisingly this doesn’t mean getting service is fast, the bar staff are very slow. The place hasn't been renovated in sometime and it tends to show, that said the restaurant tends to be quite busy during food serving times As always, if you found this review useful please remember to like it. If people like the review (whether you agree or not), it encourages me to write more ;)

Fabulous food, lovely drinks. Popped in with a friend for mid week lunch it was gorgeous. The two ladies on the bar and serving food where friendly and bubbly. Downside nice little area for sitting out on a glorious day but was extremely dirty on floors, tables and area. Garden area needs a make over. Good quality food at very keen prices the service is excellent and attentive. From our waitress Hannah to the supporting bar staff and the food prepares back stage all of the staff joined together to make a great team. The food and drinks were very reasonably priced and the food was of excellent quality. We called in The Grapes for lunch after walking one of the local National Trust trails . Haven't been before . First impressions were good - externally and internally. Dining tables were well placed and not squashed together . The decor was fresh yet traditional with lots of old local photographs . The service was excellent - all staff were very well presented and extremely polite and professional .Special mention and thanks must go to Reno, the Duty Manager who created an atmosphere of calm efficiency - brilliant ! The food was perfectly cooked and portions just right. We will definitely return.. Highly recommended!!!!

This is our 'walk to' local, so thankfully it's a pleasant experience. Good, reasonably priced beer on handpumps; pleasant, comfortable surroundings. The pub, after it's refurb several years ago is now mercifully free of the 'apes at the door' which it was cursed with for many years as a well known kiddies pub. There is a decent, if uninspired, pub restaurant attached, which serves acceptable pub grub. Just don't expect haute cuisine. Their sharing platter is a fried food lovers delight, and excellent value. The staff are friendly and attentive, and the place, even on it's rare VERY busy nights ( match days, bank holidays and Christmas weekend) does not get too busy or crowded for comfort.

We went on Wednesday for quiz night which was free with a chip butty at half time. The quiz master every entertaining good variety of questions however it was played on a IPad? Hand sized ,one between 6 picture questions couldn't be seen and unfortunately our Brain of the group is visually impaired so missed out . At the end pay a £1 and play music Bingo. 3 Stars possibly a bit mean but can't report on the pub itself. IPad too small for groups Not visually friendly Could be too late start considered by some if your not local. See you next week team Swipe Right x
