Decent pub, nice setup and atmosphere Only complaint would be craft ale selection and the Guinness - it's never a good pint in the Meadows. If they overhauled the fridges and stocked them with interesting beers and started taking pride in their pints of Guinness, I reckon it'd be buzzing. Otherwise it's a bit too generic to be anything other than average, unfortunately.

Wow! Generous portions for very tasty food at an affordable price. Pity about the lack of Real Ales available. Apparently no one available to change the Greene King IPA barrel. Plenty of parking and friendly, helpful staff. We'll be visiting again I'm sure.

Went here for family Xmas Dinner on Xmas day. It was unfortunately a bit of a washout, with disastrous service and food. This wasn't down to a poor approach, they were suffering with an extreme staff shortage due to multiple scheduled staff calling in sick the day after Xmas eve with 'covid'. Nett result was a skeleton staff left to look after the needs of a pub full of guests expecting to be fed the full Xmas monty. Without going into the detail, the upshot was it took nearly 4 hours to get a starter and a main (couldn't eat my dinner it was dry and overcooked) and we had to give up on the desserts and coffees etc as it was had to leave so ended up with a takeaway. I haven't been to this restaurant before but was assured the food was good. Alas this was unfortunately not my experience on this occasion, which I'm sure was a result of the limited staff. Extra Mile Opportunity (management please take note) i think it would have been a good idea for management to reach out post Xmas to those diners who were affected on the day,and offer a liitle goodwill gesture along the lines of a free meal in January, would cost very little compared to what was spent on Xmas dinner and gets the customers back in the door, buying alcohol and the chance to enjoy food without the stress. Just a thought.

Just had a lovely early evening pub meal - the welcome and service by the young members of staff was great - the food was piping hot and good quality. The cost was amazing 2 main courses, 2 drinks and tip for £20. I can thoroughly recommend this pub.

Lovely early dinner in the Meadows pub/restaurant in Maghull. The menu very reasonable and lots of choice and the atmosphere is calm although music and TV on together was a bit distracting. I would go back again as staff are very polite and friendly. We enjoyed our meals well can't complain 2 meals for £8.99 and. Very nice too.

Surroundings warm and inviting. Plenty of space in small alcove rooms rather than the feeling of sitting in a dining hall. Food menu was very good. Plenty of choice and value for money. Service was a bit slow but we were offered a free dessert to make up for the wait.Taking this into account I would definitely recommend this place . I will visit again.

Myself and my husband went for our lunch we had fantastic service from all of the staff My husband had a beautiful rump steak etc I had steak in bread crumbs in between garlic bread it was off the new menu Steak sandwich it was absolutely gorgeous it went down very well We got the best service of all the staff who all looked after us very well Well done macca and her team We have been on numerous occasions and always enjoy ourselves. Our local, be going here for many moons, over 30 years. It has been revamped many times, however the most recent time, was just redecoration and renewed furniture. Layout has stayed as was. Menu has changed and food was very nice. I can recommend Rib Eye steak was lovely.

Really nice family friendly place. Good quality food at a very reasonable price. I had fish and chips which, in a pub, would normally be frozen rubbish but it tasted fresh and of a good quality for the money. My partner's mixed grill was excellent. Moist chicken, lovely tender sausage and steak cooked perfectly to medium with no blood and just the right pink blush through it. Staff couldn't have been more helpful. They even turned one of the tv's over for me to watch the fomula 1! Two adults and two kids ate for around £40. Would definitely go again

They made a mess with our order and my meal didn't come with the rest of my party, went and asked where it was and told it was not ordered. I had to eat my meal by myself and all I got was an apology. Most places offer a drink while you wait, not happy at all happy with the service!!!

We came to the Meadows for our Christmas meal. We didn’t know what to expect but to be honest, as a fussy eater, the food was lovely It was cooked to perfection, all 3 courses were just lovely and really generous portions. Some guests who was sat near us were really rude, but obviously they didn’t get “manners” as a Christmas present! The landlord and staff were run of their feet, but they were still very accommodating. I would definitely go there again for our Christmas dinner, all the way from Cumbria 😁 (The ONLY negative... the toilets are not the most pleasant... could do with a lick of paint and upgrading)

The deal steak was very bad. Ordered medium rare and was more or less blue. Way too chewey, had to send it back- not something i usually do. The second time it came out well done and was still too chewey. However, every other meal I've had there had been very good. Prices are decent and they do some appealing deals. Limited stock behind the bar sometimes which is disheartening. Pool section is battered. Nibs of ques unusable of missing.

Food and drink are ok and quite cheap. Although they didnt have the bulmers as advertised, 3 different meals wertr ordered and we were told they didnt have left,they didnt remember cheese on burger, they forgot our order of crispy jalapeños, the chips were undercooked, the kids pizza was one of those mircrowave Chicago ones...and no cutlery or sauces were brought to the table.....apart from that it wadnt bad.

Great pub with plenty of tv screens, each with different sports on. They had a good selection of different beers etc. We ordered food and it was delicious. I had the xl mix grill and it came cooked pefectly

Very average, had the mixed grill asked for it to be rare, but turned up medium. It was also luke warm. As for the 12oz doubled up for extra £5 but the extra steak came about 10 mins after the meal.... Staff where very good.

There is no disabled seating on the low floor but is on the top floor but there is no way to get up there and the put the sports on right in front of the disabled toilet so it's hard to get to when there is a game on
