Boss boozer. Indeed a sanctuary from the chaos of the city centre. If you like good music and good beer, go here. A welcome escape from everywhere else.

Totally not a chain or theme bar. This is a good beer enthusiasts find. It was quiet being the end of Tuesday night but plenty to choose from. I am definitely going to be visiting this place for a couple of pints and try the bar snacks next time I'm in Liverpool

Cracking venue for a few before a night on the town. The staff are top notch folk. Friendly and attentive. Amazing prices with a great selection and always happy to offer advice if you're not quite sure what you fancy. I think this has to be a new favourite, not encountered a chilled out venue like this in Liverpool in a long time. It's clear they're not just after your wallet, but are here to stay with a focus on providing a haven from the craziness of the pool. They live up to their name. If you're after a swift one after work, look no further. If you're looking for a place in the centre of town that feels like a local, you're in good hands.

One of my favourite bars in town. Tucked away from the busier streets, good for a quiet drinks and chat with friends while enjoying rotating guest ales. Often frequent here before traveling on the train

When I was last in there, the barman announced he would be closing at 9.30 because they had run out of cellar gas. Our group were the only customers, and as we were drinking cask beer the lack of gas didn’t affect us. I suspect he just couldn’t be bothered staying open for 4 customers, but as we were playing a boardgame that still needed another hour to finish our evening was ruined. Since then I’ve discovered this is a regular event with this barman, and happened even on a busy Friday night. Hard to see how the pub can survive when it turns away customers like that.

Grungy bar that used to be some sort of restaurant. Fantastic real ale and cider collection always on offer on draft and in cans and bottles. The main bar area is quite small but there is more seating upstairs and downstairs. Friendly staff but the main attraction is the variety of traditional beverages on offer, but don't be expecting a traditional pub.

Fantastic little bar - a unique little oasis in the heart of town. Warm and friendly with a large range of craft ales. We went for the popular monthly Rock Karaoke (held upstairs) and had lots of fun. A brilliant night out.

Suddenly I fell in love with Liverpool! A small bar (admittedly with a floor above & below I didn't have time to visit) - very friendly, welcoming bar staff - very welcoming and friendly locals - 7 real-ale beer pumps - 5 working at the time of entry - with 5 great beers! What more could you want? Oh - good music selection playing too... That'll work. The bar staff clearly knew what real beer was, and how it should be properly cellared - but not a trace of snobbery - just like the beer. No salesmanship beyond the quality of what was being served - honesty goes a long way to a good pint. Really enjoyed the conversation, the place, the atmosphere and most of all the people. Thoroughly recommended!

Great beers, great atmosphere. Probably the only rock pub in town that's open late but also quiet enough (at least upstairs) to have a proper conversation. Event nights, like Karaoke, are great too.

Great bar with 6 handpumps and a large bottle collection. My friend and I visited for the first time yesterday and were made very welcome by the owners. Thanks a lot to them for this and the Milk Stout which was tremendous. We will be back.

Cosy little bar in a good location for meeting friends after work. Tried the house lager which was great!They serve craft ales and its great that you have the option to buy bottled beers to take out. Loads of bar games, loads of seating and the first bar I've heard of using loyalty cards when you buy a drink!

If you're a beer connoisseur at this is the place for finding that unique beer such as creme brulee or others that are seasonal. The bartenders are very knowledgeable and will help out. The patrons are friendly and it's a good atmosphere.

Newish cask ale bar, handy for Lime Street station too. Consists of a small room with bar serving six or seven cask ales. A room to the right is useful too. Downstairs is a further large room that is pleasantly decorated; toilets are sited on this lower level. Place has an inviting charm to it. Recommended.

Been coming here since a month after opening, I have tried many guest beers since then,some fruity n mellow,some just strong on the aftertaste,last time I was in they even had Laphroaig single malt scotch in,to which I ordered 2 doubles,highly recommend this bar,can't say enough about it,great beer, great staff and owners,good music,board and bar games but most important of all, Sanctuary sell,some damn good whiskies, a pint of top class beer and a double whisky/whiskey never go amiss!
