Lovely friendly staff plentiful supply of all you can eat breakfast items served hot. Only reason for 4star not 5 was the idiots who walk around talking loudly on there phones do every one a favour and go outside. Don't inconvenience others there for a nice quiet breakfast.

Called today and was served by a lady called Shirley. She was amazing and very attentive nothing was a problem. Shirley made us feel welcomed, She had a lovely manner about her and was full of fun. Delicious coffee. Sadly couldn't go in for the planned meal as we had our dog with us, and it's not Dog Friendly. We'd have sat outside, but it was raining. Looks really nice though, so we will go back some other time.

The place was packed being Sunday but we had booked a table. The staff brought our drinks to the table and when it came to the carvery, the staff put our gravy on and carried both plates to our table. This service is fantastic and clean and a pleasure to eat in. We live 6 miles away but we'll be back for sure!

Nice location by the Otterspool prom. Carvery looked nice and I wish I'd had it: they were slammed when we came in and it took a fair old while to get non-carvery option out. Looking forward to coming again on a day when there's fewer people there.

Always nice food everytime we visit, last time we went Katie had take our order at the bar and brought our food to us, she was very friendly and ensured we was satisfied with everything. Even went the extra step to split our tab so would make paying easier.

We visited on Sunday 1st may I had previously booked for 5 ppl for 2 o’clock some of our party missed there train so we wouldn’t have made it I phoned at 1 o’clock to change booking to 3oclock the lady sorted this for us so easily I was already impressed by the customer service we were shown to a lovely table with a great view my son and partner had travelled down from London and wanted a Sunday roast we weren’t disappointed they couldn’t believe the quality of food and the price we paid the best roast they have had for a long time they said amazing customer service great food and can I give a special mention to ste who chatted with us all what a lovely man making sure we had a fab time and we did brilliant food great atmosphere and amazing staff thank you for making our day perfect 👍

Booked in with a group of visitors for breakfast, wow food was outstanding, bacon , sausages in fact all the food was of the highest quality. Staff were welcoming and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. So impressed we all came for breakfast again the next Morning . This place is wonderful for chilling and having a family meal. The breeze during summer give nice feeling and relaxation. The meal is delicious and staff are friendly. Parking is secure and is free.

We had dinner here on Wednesday eve and got the carvery option. No beef available and some of the veg had really dried out. Even the Yorkshire was more than crisp. It was very quiet in there so that may account for the state of the food. We ate at another outlet the next eve (this time in Reading called the world turned upside down). The contrast was amazing. It was busy there. All 3 mests available and just a bit of water in the peas and Brussels meant they looked appetising and were tasty too. Staff at the Britannia were friendly and helpful. But surely even they would have been able to see how bad the food looked. I'd give this place a miss in the future unless you choose something else off the menu.

We go here alot food and staff are always good however been sitting outside due to weather so I wish tables were cleaned regularly and outside area swept, tables are always stained and sticky, floor area full of cigarette butts which is unpleasant. You could also do with a few outside large umbrellas it's hot and we've left because there is simply no shade from the sun. We ended up going to Miller and Carter down road for drinks outside area was immaculate.

Always eat here with my family and the food was amazing once again. The pizza I had was made really quick and tasted delicious. Love the salad selection and plenty of hot fresh chips. My partner had a carvery and loved the creamy mash and the potatoes where to die for. The staff where so friendly and made a real effort to come and talk to us as we are regulars.

Fabulous breakfast, my main issue is.. why tell me and partner to ensure we wear mask when walking to collect our breakfast when we watched a family walk in and the only one wearing a mask was the dad?, the. When they went to collect their breakfast they were not told to wear a mask like we were?. Other than that staff we friendly food was nice, the manager needs to lead by example and wear a proper mask not a scalf/snood.

It's a good place to eat fairly reasonably priced on the banks of the Mersey. Within reach of Otterspool promenade for a long walk or bike ride. Family friendly and helpful staff. I have gone many times over the years and enjoyed it.

The food is good quality and all of the staff are pleasant. I think they should be more strict about people having dogs when they are sat outside (make sure they're tied up). I came here the other day on my bike and someones untied dog ran at my bike, biting the wheel so it had popped. This obviously isn't the pubs fault but they could atleast ask people to tie their dog up or put a sign up.

The atmosphere inside the Britannia Inn and its proximity to the River Mersey gives you the sensation of being on a cruise ship! Ordering the meals at the bar was efficiently dealt with and the bar attendant even offered to carry the drinks to our table. When the buzzer sounded I went to get our freshly baked pizzas with 2 empty plates for salads/vegetables. The quality of food was just superb. The same bar attendant, Danielle, came to our table to check that everything was alright. If you are not in a hurry when leaving the car park you can spend few minutes gazing at the expansive vista reaching to the Welsh mountains!

Still looks run down and a bit scruffy outside despite some recent refurbishment but with some of - if not 'the' - best Riverside seating to be had coupled with an immensely popular carvery, there is simply so much custom that it survives year on year. Definitely a food pub but the bar is alright if not exactly spectacularly well stocked. It's a bit isolated on Riverside Drive. If it was closer to town it could be amazing with some investment and upkeep.

Dined here Wednesday night whilst having a break in Liverpool, great meal with as much salad , vegetables and sauces as you require plus a choice of 5 puddings at £1.99 if u purchase a main course. We opted for bottomless ice cream, with choice of 3 sauces, meringue, choc balls and coloured bits it was a real tasty dessert. We had 2 mains, a bottomless ice cream and 2 blackcurrant and water costing 14.95 with savings from a discount we got off internet. Overall great place, friendly staff pub clean and food great.

We were very disappointed in the quality of the coffee it was inferior to the standards I would expect from the brittannia. But instead i had to go to tesco and buy stuff and still had my late breakfast as late as i wanted. :D

Great views of river which makes up for bland food and contempt for veggies with very little provision for them. Food cheap and cheerful. Staff hard pressed but mostly friendly and helpful. Avoid during school holidays. Update (2018): There are more options for veggies since the refit. Salad bar is a really good addition but can be improved. Update (May 2018) When I arrived only one table free so was really chokka. Observed staff handling the situation professionally under the new manager. Far better organised than the Parkgate branch which is never as nearly crowded. Update (May 2019) Some months ago, I went to The Britannia and ordered my usual "veg carvery" to be informed that they "don't do anything for veggies now". Checkmate!
