Big old pub, modernised but retaining many traditional features. Good selection of cask ales including local brews. All the usual wines, spirits, etc. The food is very good as a comparison to many other similar outlets.

They were fantastic in here we come in with the lady we support they couldn't do enough for us found us plenty of space for the wheelchair the food was really tasty and great value for money chloe was amazing so friendly and telling us about the bingo and the history of the place definitely going back xx

Really long wait today for food. Over an hour. Feel sorry for the front of house staff who are the ones getting the complaints. Usually very quick so a bit of a let down today. Hope my parking ticket doesn't run out, I only bought a 2 hour one

what a fantastic morning we had today. breakfast with Santa WOW above & Beyond karan and robbie done a amazing job my two girls had a fabulous time and Received such great prizes. the girls really enjoyed there breakfast and the atmosphere was loving and caring with great fun all around happiness with Christmas songs i would just like to say a massive thank you to karan and her team for such a magical morning please book me in for next year 🥰 THANK YOU

Saturday evening diner, wait in food was 20 mins . Pretty good for a saterday evening. Food was hot and very well presented. Bit of a minor mix up over the menu wording , but after being brought to the manager in charge at time, he handled the issue proffesional, properly and with a courteous manner . Well done to KYLE and the poor waitress who was originally sent with rude manner if the chef. Poor girl . Shame in chef really as his food was cooked to perfection . Thank you KYLE for acting appropriately and saving the night. X

If you like your grub, the George has some really tasty food available. It’s a very nice pub to eat in. We had the breakfast which was very reasonably priced and was quite a decent in size. We both felt very satisfied after our meal. The staff were super friendly and very welcoming.

What a great place for excellent food! We will definitely come here again. Very reasonable prices, food beautifully cooked & presented, lovely friendly staff. It was Father's Day & lots of families in but the staff still fitted us in. Great atmosphere in this 5star food & hygiene rated pub! Staggering variety on the menu including vegetarian options, Sunday Roasts, beer battered fish & chips & the staff accommodated changes to the dish. Puddings well worth trying. Light sticky toffee pudding & custard that wasn't heavy or cloying. Profiteroles with a nice difference too. Drinks were reasonably priced too! We will be back. Give The George a try!

Robbie and Karen hosted our wedding reception in May2017. We could not have asked for more caring and considerate hosts. The room was set out beautifully for thirty eight guests in the day and sixty in the evening. The sit down meal was superb , with many guests commenting on the tasty tender beef. The evening spread was also very tasty and catered for a range of tastes and preferences. We are really pleased we chose this venue for our special day and would not hesitate to recommend it to others.

Massive, massive thank you to ALL THE STAFF at The George! Had my Mum's 80th Birthday celebrations in their function room. The buffet that we ordered was superb, as was the service provided by all the staff. Nothing was too much trouble (including help from the staff with my helium tank and balloons !!). I haven't frequented the George for quite some time but I took my sister and niece there today for lunch. Pleasantly surprised. Lunch was served hot and service was excellent. Would definitely go again.

Plenty of seating though lacks soft furnishings to relax in. Plenty of screens everywhere for the BT Sport and Sky football though no signs of a projector screen. Menu is varied and not bad value. Dirty chips disappointing though mains look enticing to try. Will return.

We visited the George in Crosby on Wednesday 3/10/18 for lunch ! It was busy , but we got a nice cubicle by the window ! The menu was varied and we chose the Pie and a Pint option ! The staff were very friendly and the food was lovely ! All in all , a pleasant lunch in a lively setting for a very reasonable price ! I would definitely recommend it !

12.10hrs we enterd the George inn ....Our order consisted of ..cheese and onion toastie served warm. Sent back to be micro waved.. 10 chicken wings cooked realy well .. 2 childrens fish and chips with cold garden peas followed by ice cream.. Loaded chips (not very nice ..not all the ingredients present). 1 latte 3 teas . When the main meals had been eaten i went to the bar to order more hot drinks and request the children's ice creams 20 minutes later i returned to the bar to enquire about our drinks and ice creams the lady behind the bar was standing looking bored twiddling her thumbs said she was run of her feet and had not been able to make them yet then she asked me if i had payed for them so i showed her my card receipt she then said she would bring them over in a minute! 5 minutes later she was standing idle and was fed up with me when i asked about our hot drinks and ice cream ...pub was not as busy as i have seen in the past so ..it appeared that the bar staff had issues with each other
