I usually visit here a couple of times a year for family gatherings. I always go for the Carvery. The food is excellent and you can go back and refill your plate with more veg if you wish. Friendly and comfortable pub. Never a had a bad experience. It's usually quite busy and you may be asked to wait before being seated. But it's easy to understand why it's so popular. Today's visit had 16 in our group and we were treated exceptionally well by the staff.

This carvery is pretty good. Not had a bad meal here. I guess they are pretty much the same. The beef was really nice, I went at 12.30 and it was match day so was quiet but that didn't matter. I would recommend to anyone

Come and try. Free flow buffet full breakfast with Yorkshire pudding pork roast as their specialty. Coffee is good and the mushrooms are specially cooked with pepper and stuff. Staff not so friendly but who cares! Loads of sitting and the toilets are clean. It's is directly next to a travel lodge but it was full. We came here for their breakfast. Oh by the way, they don't serve cereal during the buffet. U need to get it specially? Maybe?

Went to the carvary with my wife and two adult children the meal was lovely as was the staff. Although on my way to the car after my meal I fell on my face after falling over a drain that was sunken although I was helped up by my wife and put on a brave smile I woke this morning with Bruce’s to my arms and knees please be careful when walking to the car park I feel the drain should have a warning sign of some kind?

Had a lovely lunch here with Mrs and mother in law the meat was very fresh and also the veg cooked just right. Great choice of veg and also the roasties where very good too. A choice of normal roasties or beef gravy roasties too which are really nice. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did....

I love carvery Stoneycroft us by far the best. The food is lovely, shout out to the kitchen staff, the staff are so friendly & they want you to enjoy your time there. I won't book carvery anywhere else. You guys are fabulous.

Came for unlimited breakfast. Tbh staff were grumpy and kept us waiting while they checked for a table even tho loads of empty tables! Food choice good, tho had to wait for items that had run out for a while. Big queue for toast machine so went without. No hot water for tea so choice was coffee or coffee until hot water filled up after i had finished meal!

Great food, great place. I had to wait a few minutes before get served by the carvery man, but ok. You can repeat everything but the all meats. They have 4 sorts of meat, Mac and cheese, peas, roasted potatoes, Yorkshire pudding,carrot, couliflower, gravy, vegetarian gravy, loads of sauces. There are free refil options for drinks. At this time I paid £7.99 for the Carvery.

This is a traditional yet modern feel "urban located" Toby carvery. The pub including the toilets were clean and tidy on our mid afternoon visit. The food/ carvery was plentiful, hot and varied. The staff were all pleasant and catered to our needs supplying drinks directly to the table. The lager I was served was a little flat and not particularly good hence the 4 stars. If you like Toby carvery and their format then this was as good as the many others. If you're passing and hungry then I would advise calling in.👍

I found a breakfast very disappointing because it Limited in variety put the manager and the staff with outstanding .there manager went round cleared tables and clearinga tables as well I was really impressed .staff are hard-working the place is spotless . Has asked the manager what happened to scrambled egg black pudding or breakfast cereals that we're not put out a member of staff in for me that head office has ordered them not to save as cost cutting . it's a shame because it spoils the experience it's a lovely place to go during the day as the food is excellent

I love a good Carvery and Toby qualifies as that! Stonycroft Toby is a great place to eat. Staff are friendly and couldn't do enough for us! Food is lovely as always and a good selection of veg. My only quibble was they had no mustard which is a must for roast beef! We had a fab evening and all left fed, watered and happy! Price for a weekday carvery for us all was very reasonable. Upon a visit to Liverpool we ate at this place for the 2nd time this year. Not being local we were surprised to be met with a friendly face and a lovely welcome. We ordered a carvery which being a Toby we had an idea of what to expect. We weren't disappointed, 3 meats (Turkey, Beef and Gammon - still hoping for Pork or Lamb one day lol). Eton mess followed and then a floater coffee. A waiter was quite chatty and very friendly. Will definitely make our way there every time we visit Liverpool.

Came here this evening to catch up with some friends after not seeing them for quite a while. Arrived just before 7 as one of my friends had pre booked. On entering the restaurant we were informed that they had run out of Turkey and the only meat that was available was beef and gammon. We were quite disappointed with what we got as the beef was very fatty and grizzly though the gammon was fine. As we were queuing up we noticed the the chef was filling up plastic containers which I presume was for Justeat. Not sure what the problem was but my friend who had a desert was told that there was no cream either. I know it's school holidays but I wouldn't have said that it was really busy compared to other occasions we've gone. Hopefully next time we visit we can have a choice of meats!!

We was greeted by a friendly lady called Jo who took us to our table and explained the new rules to us complying with the government guidelines. The staff were rushed off their feet on the day I went. There was a problem with the tills not accepting coupons so staff were having to manually calculate discounts,which took them longer. They were very apologetic. The problems were compounded by a lot of people visiting that day, likely because of the promotion. The food was generally good, although the beef seemed quite a poor cut and had a lot of hard, chewy fat. Generally good, but try and go on a quieter day for a more pleasant dining experience.

Well what can I say about the Queens. The food is absolutely amazing. They do a fantastic carvery here and the Yorkshire puddings are to die for. They let you pick what meats you would like and then it's up to you what else you put in your plate and how much. You then get to choose which kind of gravy you would like. If you can squeeze in an afters then you won't be disappointed as the selection is brilliant. The level of service is excellent. The pub itself is extremely clean as are the toilets. A family friendly pub and ideal for any special occasions.

Ok so the food is great. But to be honest it's basic carvery food. Nothing special. But the staff are super nice! Very kind. After coming from London, where most waitresses are quite rude and snobbish, the staff here in comparison are angels!!! Took total care of me and my family, even thought they were close to closing. Totally recommend just for the epic staff alone. But great atmosphere and decent food. Can't go wrong.

At £7.49 per head, the carvery was likely reasonably priced including a choice of turkey, pork, beef or gammon meats. The quantity was generous as one could go back for more vegetables. Disappointing was the quality of the taste of the food and the attention of the staff to customers. The temperature of the food, especially the veg., was tepid and had to be sent back for reheating and thus fit to eat. Roast dinners, should not be served lukewarm or cold. This was done but we were not asked later if things were now to our satisfaction or if we were enjoying our meal. There was no chef constantly on duty at the carvery. Customers had to wait until he appeared to serve the meat. One was overheard to complain. There was a lack of any welcome, friendliness or expression of warmth to customers. Perhaps the old values like courtesy or charm or friendliness are depleted now and no longer have any place in British restaurants in which case the lack of these human values is perhaps a cultural characteristic of this nation or a reflection of the poorer breeding or training of the staff. Very sad to even think this. The chairs at the dining tables were also hard and uncomfortable. When leaving, we felt an anticlimax, a sense of dissatisfaction and disenchantment with the Toby and the service we received.

Having eaten here on several occasions where we have enjoyed the beautiful carvery, we were very disappointed today when our meals were cold and I do mean cold! Even the gravy was cold so that didnt help. Unfortunately it wasn't just ours, several tables had the same complaint and as some kind of compensation we were offered ice cream. After a cold dinner on a cold wet day, that was the last thing anyone wanted. The staff here are wonderful, friendly and helpful and the pub is lovely. The food is lovely too but I think they let themselves down badly today by not offering discounts. It was my Dad's 85th Birthday and we felt it was ruined. The management and staff knew there was a problem and should have handled it differently.

I arrived as a family of 4 but without a reservation. I was shown to a table straight away and did not have to wait even though the place was pretty busy. The time was about 5.30 on a Thursday tea time. The table was at the front of the restaurant but was very noisy with other diners. The service was ok as the place was busy. The food was decent but my daughter had beef as an option of meat. She was served with the very end piece that was a little fatty and tough. In my opinion the end pieces should not be served as it was dry. Desserts were ordered after the main meal and they arrived quite promptly and were enjoyed. I would go again but not during peak times as trying to eat a meal with screaming kids and excessive noise spoilt the meal.

It has been a while since we have been here. It has been refurbished since the last time we came. It is very clean and airy with plenty of space to move around. I am disabled and found it quite easy to manoeuvre between tables. This is our first time for breakfast. There was plenty to choose from and could go back as much as you wanted but out of the five of us none could go back for seconds. Kids had refills on the drinks and had fun mixing their drinks. They even do squash as a refill, great news for those who don’t like carbonated drink.

Lovely roast dinners, sometimes there can be loads to choose from, some days not so much, not sure if it depends on what the chef that's working that day fancies putting out?? Crackling is fab, Mac and cheese is lovely, cocktails I wouldn't bother they didn't even bother to stir mine. Only other comment is chefs tend to be miserable every time I've been, don't tell them there spuds are burnt because I did and the response was not great 😂

The food was ok, rather on the cold side and the sauce area was awful, mint sauce and gravy all over the counter, there was lots of food debris along the serving counter (squashed veg and potato) I almost slipped on some of it that has ended up on the floor with a hot dinner in my hands! The desert that came from the kitchen was lovely - although I was very sad that they had ran out of Bailey's profiteroles! Maybe wouldn't go to this Toby Carvery again.

This was my first time dining in Toby Carvery. I did not enjoy it. The contingent of people here was very peculiar. Food was oily, but dry (not even sure how this is possible). Staff was somewhat careless. We were waiting for someone to come and bring (or offer to bring) the bill, but no one came, I even asked other members of staff to ask the waitress who served us to bring the bill, but it seemed that no one cared. I had to find the waitress myself and ask for the bill.

You can go and get Stuffed! ....in a good way. The food quality is very much as you would expect from Toby Carvery; nice roast with your choice of vegetables, gravy and sauces. The friendly and helpful staff really make regular visits worth while. We are made to feel more like a member of the family than a paying customer. Attended here as there was Special offer on the Toby Carvery app where you get 50% off all mains. It was very busy for a Tuesday evening, however was seated quite quickly after the receptionist was able to find our table booking. Order refillable glasses as always easier option Got to the carvery station and was told that there's was no Turkey for another 1.45 which was a disappointment. There was also a tiny bit of beef left aswell which was coming out shortly. However there was loads of gammon and pork. Large amount of veggies available, the roasties could of been a bit crisper. The gammon was very good, however the pork was very dry. The server was quick to take the plates away and nearly took glasses. Dessert was ordered the 'special' cakes turned up and they were nothing like what it said on the pictures and half the stuff was missing. Huge disappointment.

We as a company come here once a month for all of us to have a breakfast together. Suits well for large groups due to the help yourself style, means we can all fill our plates quick while someone else can sort out all the toast. Being a veggie and having this buffet breakfast also is great, since you can help yourself to extras and fill up your plate full of those mushrooms which are amazing, too bad they don't do hash browns as that would be really up the game, or more veggie options available on the buffet. I would suggest going for the refillable cold drink as you will find yourself gasping for a drink after eating. They must throw a lot of salt or something into the food, first few times I had tea and was left literally chugging my bottle of water in the van. Once a month is enough for me here.
