Lovely bar friendly staff very welcoming place

Great pub for the area but just the lounge area as been turned into a restaurant, with candles and table cloth! Don't get it. Can't sit in there now as you need to order food. Its a pub and just do pub food without the table service, table cloth and it will be fine. Trying to be something else than a pub!!

Decent pub , only popped in for a quick drink but was clean friendly and will go there again for sure, Update been quite often , it's quiet , a nice pint . Does food but not tried yet. Tried food a few times and it's always been good... Becoming my go to pub now

Great pubs are made by great hosts. Rachel and Phil are a perfect example of this. Nothing is too much trouble for them and the work they have put in creating a good atmosphere (and a spotlessly clean and welcoming environment) deserves to be recognised. This is a brilliant pub just for a few pints, to watch the match in or for a quick bite to eat. Friendly local crowd, really welcoming to occasional visitors and no nobheads. A lot to like - compliments to the management. 5 stars

Refurbished pub, directly opposite main entrance to Alder Hey The interior has managed to keep a homeliness to it and thankfully this hasn't been turned into a high Street clone, place still oozes character, thanks to the little rooms each with a different vibe. Occasional live music on which is a bonus. Outside heated seating area Friendly and attentive staff Beers well kept and presented well Prices very competitive Toilets clean

Absolutely love it here we have been in alder hey with r baby having a few ops n stuff so we come over here for a quiet one and the bar woman Rachael is absolutely lovely she’s a diamond she works really hard makes sure the customers are all happy and she’s always got a smile on her face i really recommend this pub To anyone who goes past it’s boss

New management again. Sunday Roast Dinner was a disappointment, prices slightly gone up and side orders are now £2.75 each but comes on your plate? Less stuff on your place and prices gone up. Missing from our dinner was. Mash. Stuffing. Cauliflower. Pigs in blankets. And only 4 roasties. Very disappointed. But will give them a chance to change things.

Well what can I say just left this eating establishment and I can honestly say I will be returning. Their warmth you feel when you go in is so friendly, from the moment you sat down nothing was to much trouble for starters I had chicken strips with the most delicious chicken gravy, then fish and chips with mushy peas so delicious and for dessert apple crumble made with a flapjack topping and custard and even the drink with the meal was perfect. This pub restaurant is very good value for money and I would have gave it more stars if it were possible. So thankyou for such a lovely service xxx

Nice pub, refurbished to a high standard. The young bar maid today not very friendly. Nice afternoon until bar staff put music on which was too loud but as it wasn't playing in whole pub, once we moved to another room we were able to talk

We have visited the wheatsheaf frequently during our stay at aldehhey. It is a warm and welcoming pub with friendly staff. We have very much felt 'adopted' during our time in the hospital and the care and compassion of the staff helped considerably. Would highly recommend
