Literally the best vegan pizza I've ever had. A perfect balance of garlic and the avocado added the cherry on the cake. I've had lots of vegan pizzas and this one was simply the best. Cooked to perfection. And the cocktails were banging. Got the love happy hour xx

Great comedy night downstairs from Full House Comedy. The bar staff were very prompt/friendly when ordering drinks. The atmosphere is friendly, the decor and style great and I thoroughly enjoyed my time here. It’s also just across the road from the Tube Station so it’s a say to get home 😁

Colourful fairly compact late opening bar. It was very lively when we visited with live music just finishing. Everyone seemed very friendly and happy. Good beer selection and prices were reasonable by London standards. As an added bonus pizzas were still being made and served at midnight. Good transport connections make it worthwhile traveling to.

Great pizzas (specially the honey mushroom one which we can't get enough of) and very friendly service! The guy making the pizzas already knows our order when he sees us. The music is great if you are into classic rock and Indie music (eg. Rolling Stones, The Kooks, Guns & Roses) and the drink selection is quite good too. The pub holds several events during the week. We attended a Comedy Night on a Monday several months ago and had a very good time! We also discovered that the pub has extra room in the basement for such events.

Looks like a dive bar from the outside, feels like a dive bar when you go in but it's a lot better than you'd expect. Great atmosphere, very good music selection. On top of the bar it has a venue downstairs that does music and comedy nights with great acts. But the thing that really makes it for me is the hidden pizza shop at the back. Freshly made, proper thin pizza at great prices. To eat in or take away.

Great bar. Most times I am there is to see comedy in the basement, great booking policy, I particularly love the monthly Troy Club night. The pizzas alway smell amazing, must have one next time!

Sat on a table wobbly enough to scare us about dropping a drink. We could have moved away from it but didn't as the over all impression was the whole bar needs a little TLC from it's ripped wallpaper to its split wood on the benches. The Pizza's were so tasty and there was a solid selection of drinks, would go back.

Top notch bar doing the American dive bar thing well. The beer is good the little pizza corner they have offers cheap & delicious nourishment & they have live bands downstairs on a regular basis. The Italian Pizza is great. The environment, as a whole, is amazing. The best background rock music (classics mostly) can be listened here! Live music is a case by case deal. The only downside is that is not very large and the tables and chairs arrangement doesn't help much...

I hired the Aces and Eights downstairs bar for a private party last weekend and had the time of my life! Tim (Bar Manager) and his staff were really helpful on the run up to the party, answering all my questions promptly and offering help and advice when needed. The downstairs bar has a secret, speakeasy feel to it with gorgeous velvet lamps and quirky mirrors and it's own bar and toilets, so guests needn't venture up stairs unless they want to. We were given access to the room before the party and free reign to decorate as we liked so we were able to make the event really personal. On the night we had our own bar staff who were on hand to help guests and served drinks with great friendly banter. We ordered pizzas for our guests which went down a storm, easily some of the best pizza in London. So if you are looking for a place to host your next party or just drinks and food with friends then look no further than Aces of Eights, an intimate venue with a unique character, friendly staff and a relaxed party atmosphere.

A totally unique bar, a bit outside of central London. The cocktails taste great and there are plenty to choose from. If you're into Whisky and/or Gin you might something dor you here aswell. They've got a variety of beers on tap, and even more in bottles and cans. Overall the atmosphere therr is a mix of cozy and engaging. Would highly recommend.

Update May14: after many more times at this joint i can say that things are still the same: nice vibes, good music, amazing pizza vs. rude doormen, and very load music (the place gets virtually empty between dinner and late evening because no one is interested in getting their eardrums blown off by the load music. please lower it down, its for your own good!!). ____________ tis my local so have been there many many times. one of the best in the area showcases good DJs on weekends, with good music playing all the time. not pretentious or over priced like many of the other places around and not dodgy like the one across the street the Boston Arms. Aces definitely has its charm. oh and the pizza is very good. I want to ask the management to consider one thing though: please lower the upstairs live music volume. I don't mind that you want to give attention to the music, but a little lower volume will be better. had to leave every time the music starts to the Lord Palmerston due to this. you may be losing business dudes.

A venue with a hell of a devotion to rock'n'roll. Bursting with energy, live music and pizza, Aces and Eights is open till a surprisingly late 2.30am on Fridays and Saturdays, making it Tufnell Park's staple late night joint. The beautifully lit, low-ceilinged basement is a spectacular spot to catch some lesser-known musical mixtures, so, go for some booze and some wholesome guitar-smashing fun.

Bras dangling above the bar, a hard-drinkin' cocktail menu, Whitesnake pumping out loud and booths made for assignations... It's pleasingly dark and dingy but otherwise spotless - with, weirdly, the cleanest, sparkliest toilets I've ever seen in a dive bar. The music is great - while we were there, they covered cheesy rock, Nick Cave and some classic 90's indie tunes. There's not a huge range of beer on tap (it's really a cocktail/liquor joint) but an amazing selection of boozes. The cocktail menu is pretty unusual (my favourite was Parma Violence, a deathly concoction of gin, parma violet liqueur and lemon) and I was a little sad that we missed the 6pm to 8pm happy hour. All this would be great enough on it's own, BUT (and if you've eaten there, you'll know why I've used capitals) they have a pizza parlour right there in the bar, and it's run by Il Bacio. This is, for my money, Stoke Newington's best pizza place and they serve up thin, properly Italian pizzas with gorgeously fresh toppings like rosemary sausages and rocket. So. Aces and Eights isn't fancy. It's kind of cheesy. It's cocktails, music and pizza and it's great.

Aces and Eights is a great place to go for a drink in the Tufnell Park/Kentish Town area. There is live music every other night as well as a music quiz on during the week.
