The bar has the best cocktails and awesome atmosphere. I can’t say how much I miss the taste of the cocktail I ordered. The seemingly clear liquid was layered with flavors, each of them seems independent to others but they formed a wonderful symphony of flavors. The price is high but you get top notch cocktail and atmosphere, which lots of celebrities, like Winston Churchill, also experienced. Hope it reopen soon

One of favourite bars in London and rightfully so.
Classy
Amazing customer service
Intricately created cocktails
The best mixologists in town
And just all round lovely ambience.

Delicious cocktails, very nice bar. We had a great time. Orion cocktail was our favourite. We also loved the pink one and the suffragette. Lovely staff, nice live piano music. We definitely recommend! We understand why it is so highly rated among cocktails bar in the world!

Let me start by saying that I respect Ms Tebay’s work back from the Death and Co days and that I’m very much aware that this incarnation of the bar has only been open for a week. My issues were with service, not with the drinks.
It’s sad you can’t sit at the bar anymore. If you emphatically ask to sit near the bar, it’s sad if you end up in a different room. There’s no real reason why there’s a tedious “spelling your complete name” ceremony, when that name is never mentioned again. Generally, servers are nice enough, but without a real personal connection, which, again, might be too much for ask for after a week. Finally, it’s weird to be asked about a reservation when the web site expressively says there aren’t any. Makes you feel like a second class guest right away.
My drink was competently made and well thought out. Of course, it was about ten pounds too much in terms of quality, but these things have to be taken into account when you’re at the Savoy. I won’t be, for the foreseeable future, though.

My family and I have been here twice, both times before dining at the Savoy Grill. Upon arrival we were warmly invited to sit down- they have a variety of plush couches and chairs which are very comfortable and classy. There is also grand piano in the centre of the room that a gentleman was playing softly whilst we were there.
The cocktail list is absolutely huge, complete with some extraordinarily expensive vintage cocktails. Overall I love the experience and ambience of American Bar.

Wonderful bar with a nice atmosphere and adventurous, unusual cocktails. The live piano was a lovely touch.

Legendary comes to mind. It is a beautifully decorated bar with history and the kind of service that if you are under 40 you probably haven’t experienced outside of five star hotels. Be warned, such opulence comes at a price. You would expect to pay north of £26 for a drink when you are at a hard-to-get-in speak easy or a cocktail lounge on a roof with a view, but not a stuffy hotel with very inventive menus. It is very nice, but it is geared towards what younger generations are looking for. There is no trendy scene, fancy view or super talented instagram ready mixologist behind the bar. Just a famous address with beautiful, but outdated, decorations.
Skip if you are visiting London, but worth the visit to take clients and business associates.

Sadly will never be able to try the Sazerac 😊 but there's plenty of others to choose from. Staff lovely to chat to. Relaxing atmosphere, will always be my favourite place.
Had drinks here again 21st February during the afternoon. Great place to meet, chat & relax. Will come for a bar meal next time, the burger looked delicious. As always, staff impeccable. 40 years since I was a message clerk here, and where we took calls & messages for guests is now 2 beautiful lifts !!

Great musical concept, carried through throughout the bar. From coasters in the form of records, a songbook menu with drinks named after classic songs, and a live pianist bringing the music to life. Prices are steep, but you come to expect that at the world’s number 2 bar.
J. L.
Incredible bar with casual and relaxing atmosphere. I ordered “Life And Times” andThat’s A Wrap”, both of them are amazing. Didn’t think that whiskey based cocktail can be this good. The washroom was really bright and luxury. This place definitely deserves a 5-star rating, or even more!!!
T. B. H.
Had a great evening here! They don’t take reservations, but we arrived at 18:45 and waited for about 20 minuets. The bar has lots of history, and great atmosphere. There was an amazing pianist/singer until about 20:30 and the cocktails were so good!

Good atmosphere for a late night drink. Drinks are little pricy but service was great and staff were friendly. Got recommended other places to checkout after American Bar closed which I though was nice. Will come back again when I’m in London next.

Service - I thought the people who manages the place is not quite efficient. Why? They made people wait for 45 minutes before ushering them to the table when the place has 40% empty tables. I don't see the need to do this as for what, exclusivity purposes? It makes the bar look exceptionally pretentious. However, the staffs in the bar itself were nice. Our server was a really nice guy who attended to all our questions and constantly have a smile on his face.
Drinks - Very good variety of drinks, it feels like a journey drinking in this bar with stories and fairytales. Each drink has a little story which makes them a little bit more interesting as compared to regular bars. A lot of effort is put in to every drink - with odd coasters, some preserved fruits or spraying something on the drinks in front of us. It somehow made me feel that it's the show that got them to be so highly ranked. It depends on how you view it - some people will think the show is too much (I'm one of them), some would think that this is why they are so highly ranked. For me, I just want my drink with less shows. Good effort though.
Try Gilbert Rumbold, a very light and refreshing drink to start off. The vintage cocktail page is really interesting I thought. Possibily the only bar to my knowledge, serves such alcohol and also with that pricetag.
Ambience - There was some jazz performance going on that night, too noisy for a proper conversation....
Overall - All in all, I thought it could be better experience to visit if the bar is less busy. It made me feel they cannot cater to the crowd... I somehow like it quiet and classy instead of noisy and just too gimmicky. Will definitely return on a less busier day so staff's attention is less divided and when wait time is no longer than 15 minutes.
U. D.
This rating goes without saying. The best cocktail bar in the world. Staff is super professional and helps with setting up custom drinks according to your taste.
L. R.
With the average price for a cocktail at £20 this bar may seem overpriced. However the service is exceptional, its an experience and a delight. The complimentary bar snacks make it a good value visit plus the live piano man was the cherry on top.
M. M.
One of the best cocktail bars in the world. All drinks are top-notch here. There are only four places at the bar counter but it totally worth wait to get a free one. Watching for cocktails making by that good bartenders is astounding. You can spend 3 hours without notice just talking to barmen and trying to taste every cocktail in their menu.
Snacks are free and unlimited that is a nice bonus considering expensive drinks there.
Excellent service, all crew members are friendly, professional and always ready to help with any questions you may have.
It's a famous place so book in advance or be ready to wait for some time to be seated. Waiting time is negligible if you are alone or two people only but may be longer for larger parties.
E. B.
Lovely experience definitely something special. The history of the place is amazing and I felt like a luxury experience. The staff were very attentive and knew the menu inside out. Cocktails were delicious too. Around £20 for a cocktail. Complimentary snacks were given which is definitely a bonus. Would recommend!
D. A.
Spectacular (and spectacularly expensive) cocktails at this art deco Gatsby hotel bar. Loved the live piano player and the great service. Inventive drinks - I had a perfect gin martini and a gin highball made with nori, celery bitters and grapefruit soda that was light, savory and refreshing. There was also a 5000 GBP shot of whiskey but we passed on that one.
V. G.
The staff were very welcoming and the drinks were great (worth the price !). They have a brilliant cocktail menu. I went with a group of friends and the bartender explained the story and the ingredients of each one of our cocktails. And the presentation, just WOW ! Beautiful and original. The bartender was really friendly and helpful, recommending cocktails based on your tastes. Service was absolutely exceptional from the beginning. It’s pricey but you have to go there at least once in your life.
L. C.
Popped in for a drink before dining in The Savoy grill restaurant.
Great bar. Brilliant cocktail menu.
Cocktails were fantastic and the staff were friendly and helpful. A must for pre-dining drinks.
S. D.
Rated as the “best bar in the world”. We had to wait for a table but it wasn’t long and well well it was worth the wait. Best cocktails we have ever had. Great service and really great jazz pianist. Highly recommend. A great end to a month long holiday
T. D.
Classic bar with the best amazing drink list.
Every drink in their menu has a story behind it. It comes with greatness taste.
Amused, Presentation and Perfect mix

My first time at this bar was when my mom came to visit me in London and was staying at the Savoy. We stumbled upon this gem before going to dinner. We never planned to come here; little did I know I was about to find my all-time favorite bar. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the receptionist, who was very welcoming; she sat us by the bar. The bar itself is a work of art and the relaxed ambience with the live music was just phenomenal. We were greeted by our waiter Nerijus, whom we came to find was Lithuanian as well. Upon meeting him, we had no idea we'd be making an amazing friend for life. He handed us the menu and explained it to us, asked for suggestions, and told us a little about the history of the bar. The menu was like a graphic novel of some of the most amazing cocktails I've ever seen. We went with his suggestions and were blown away. We've continued to come to this bar for years and still do to this day. This bar will always have a special place in my heart!

I was curious to visit the iconic American Bar at the Savoy so when in town i went with a few friends to check it out. We arrived with no reservations and were seated on a saturday night very quickly, we only had to wait for about 5 minutes. The ambiance of the place is not stellar, i was expecting something out of this world but it was pretty toned down with live piano music in the middle of the main room. Once we were seated we were give an "book" containing the menu, it was intimidating at first but soon after I opend it i saw a very easy to navigate list of cocktails and vintage cocktails, it even has a graph that helps you zero in to the type of cocktail that you might be interested in. The service was phenomenal, it was quick, it was helpful, and in no time at all we were served some very tasty snack that go very well with the cocktails. I ordered the "Sinatra's Stage" a cocktail based on single barrel Jack Daniel's Bourbon, creamy, whiskey sour like, very creative and pleasing, i recommend it very much. My wife ordered the Googly, a cocktail based of Gin, very well executed. I didn't give it the 5 stars mostly due to the ambiance but the cocktails are well worth the visit. There are some excentric vintage cocktails that you ight want to try if you feel up to spending up to 5000 pounds on a single cocktail. cheers!
E. L.
We really enjoyed some cocktails after the theatre. The music created an intimate atmosphere. The cocktails were superb and the waiter... So lovely and helpful with his recommendations!
D. P.
Best place I’ve visited, during my business trip in London. You have to go. The cocktails that I’ve tasted there were for sure the best I had in my life due to the quality and the combination of the drinks.
A. H.
Pleasant Art Deco decor and tasty cocktails, but:
(1) I love live piano music. In this case, the speakers in the bar area were turned up so high they created buzzing;
(2) Closing time was midnight, but our server made last call at 11:20, even though venue was at most half-full;
(3) The recorded music that followed the live pianist was pleasant and at the right volume, but it was turned off ten minutes before closing time;
(4) The bar staff were very noisy with glassware and bottles while putting the bar to bed before closing time, with customers still in the venue;
(5) The house lights were brought up just ten minutes after closing time, with customers still in the venue; and
(6) I had inquired about purchasing a copy of The Savoy Songbook when I placed my order, but our server never checked to see if I would still like to add one to our check (I didn't remind him and decided to just forego the purchase).
I don't mind paying £30 for a cocktail in a beautiful space with a warm, enchanting atmosphere and service that makes me feel special. My experience felt like I'd fallen into a tourist trap where the staff didn't enjoy either their jobs or their customers.
D. L.
Top 1 cocktail bar of world Top 50, classic and with full cocktail history experience,
All cocktails are with special serving ritual, ask bar staff to recommand is a best suggestion to get a one and only cocktail in American bar
B. S.
Great cocktails, great classic atmosphere. Just a tad too pricey in my book.
H. S.
A beautiful bar with attentive service and a fascinating range of cocktails that are as good as you would expect from the current world's best bar. No reservations but lots of historic objects and photos to look at while you wait. Expensive but worth the money.
J. S.
Hands down the greatest bar on the plane! Enjoyed cocktails, wine, or nightcaps each night of a recent 4-night stay at The Savoy and between the service, entertainment, and drink quality, it's an unrivaled experienced. Special shoutout to to Ferdia, the young man who took care of us three of the four nights we were there--what an outstanding asset to an already amazing establishment. Charming, witty, and knowledgeable. Well done, American Bar.
C. Z.
Came here couple years ago, no doubt it’s the best bar in the world, the history makes it became legacy.
A. F.
The ONLY place to go for stylish art-deco inspired surroundings near Covent Garden (in my opinion). Perfect service, ANY drink you can think of, and all served with a smile. It's like being in a PG Wodehouse nove,... Dive in !
G. C.
American bar inside the Savoy hotel. Great bartenders, delicious cocktails and perfect service. One of the best in London.
A. K.
Recreational alcoholism is my favorite hobby & I've seen it all - New York, Singapore, Bangkok, Moscow, St.Pete, Berlin, Paris.
The American is my favorite bar in the world, hands down.
Every time I am in London I try to visit it at least once. Sometimes I am in London just to go there.
R. W.
The banter, the atmosphere, the attention to detail, the amazing cocktails that are very original - all of it is absolutely perfect. 10 stars!
N.
This bar was AMAZING! Best cocktails I have ever tried in my life. And all the creativity for creating, naming and presenting the cocktails was very inspiring. Special thanks to Maxim the Bar Manager for his amazing hospitality, and that of all the bartenders. I recommend this bar to anyone who is picky with drinks because they will be impressed!

Icon of the London cocktail scene. I have been there first time and I was amazed. Simple as those cocktail were looking, better taste. And of course service was extraordinary...
g. w.
Beautiful ambience and wonderful service, not for the cost conscious but a great experience, perfect for an indulgent treat, amazing cocktails at amazing prices
A. H.
A great location steeped in history but overall the drinks are just superb. Both our cocktails hit the spot.
M. S.
Interesting list of cocktails, relaxed atmosphere, great service, overall a good place to have some drinks on a saturday night, you might need to wait for 15, 20 min to get a table, but worth visiting.
P. T.
They have a brilliant cocktail menu. The bartender was really friendly and helpful, recommending cocktails based on your tastes. Service was absolutely exceptional from the beginning. It’s pricey but you have to go there at least once in your life.
G. S.
Love rhe new menu. This place never disappoints. Best cocktails in town with live piano.
K. S.
One of the most special and unique cocktail bars I have ever been to. The place oozes history and charm! Make sure you take a trip to the bathrooms - they're stunning and you will pass all sorts of art and celebrity portraits on the way.
The cocktails are worth the price. Go, go, go!
W. L.
Definitely one of the best bars in London and likely the world. The effort put into every drink can be felt with every sip regardless of what you order. Their latest menu is centered around songs, with every drink representing a classic. The balance of each cocktail is the culmination of endless experimentation, trial, and skill on behalf of their resident bartenders. If youre in London and you like cocktails there is absolutely no reason for you not to visit. Come early on weekdays, usually no queues.
A. S.
I was there for literally 20 minutes, sat at the bar for one drink, and had an amazing experience. The ambience is lovely, very beautiful decor, and creative menu. Service wise, I did not get greeted at the doors, so had to make my way toward the bar myself, however, the bartender Frederico greeted me warmly and helped to get comfortably seated. He made me a perfect Negroni and chatted with me for the entirety of my presence there, while carrying on with his job effortlessly. I got the feeling that workers here really know how to be professional, they make you feel very welcomed and comfortable. Good job!
J. O.
Excellent atmosphere, great life music. I would definitely comeback for more but man they really need to improve the quality of their cocktails, it is shockingly average for a place like the savoy, which is such a waste. Ive heard that the cocktails used to be fantastic but my visit proved to be disappointing, hope it gets better.
B. M.
Nicest bar I've ever been to, period. And I'm old. What a spot. Made my vacation. Pure class.
E. P.
While the drinks are priced at about 2-3x what you'd expect from a craft cocktail bar, they definitely don't skimp on ingredients and the service was absolutely exceptional. The drinks themselves were presented beautifully and every one was original and delicious. I certainly couldn't afford to stop in frequently, but if you're a fan of craft cocktails you owe it to yourself to try these at least once.
M. R.
Very good customer service, pleasant atmosphere, it's a little loud though (too many seatings in a small area as this) so not the best place for a business meeting. Me and my partner arrived for tea around 6pm, we were sat straight away (some times there's a waiting time). The waiters were very engaging. Totally recommend.
M. M.
Having been voted the best bar in the world not once but twice, you would expect exceptional service and quality. The bar does not disappoint. The signature cocktails are different, top ingredients and paired with photos of the stars from Bowie to Sinatra - it's a flavour journey, though, in truth, neither your liver nor bank balance could manage more than a short walk!
There are no reservations here so evening arrivals will have to wait - sometimes up to an hour but there is always the museum to peruse and, of course, other bars are available.
W. M.
Came here as I hadn't been in years and had heard it was remodeled. Wow, it's even nicer than I remember, and the waiters are still elegant and the room is now even more elegant, it's almost over the top.
And then folks come in looking like they've been working in their garden and they too are well received and treated. This is a classy place.
The wait staff are cordial and helpful, and set such a proper tone for a swank place. Prices are what one would expect, given the location and setting. Although I did see a chap once come in and have a pint.
Enjoy!
Z. Z. N.
Drinks were delicious and well-executed but REALLY EXPENSIVE.
I mean they were good, but £20-30 good? Nah.
The price probably comes with the (one of the) ‘best cocktail bars in the world’ name. There are a lot more cocktail bars in London with better value!
L. B.
What a treat. Take in the wonderfully relaxing smooth atmosphere listening to piano jazz. Expensive cocktails £20 or £12 for non alcoholic but worth it for the experience plus you get topped up with free bar snacks, nuts olives and savoury rice crackers and can just while away an evening. Lots of Hollywood stars photos memorabilia and historic photos of the bar and it's head bartenders of years gone by, all to look at on the way out. I look forward to returning again.
M. T.
Revolutionary. Everything a nice bar should be. From the classy waitstaff, to the elegant and intimate piano playing, to the tres encroyable cocktails I loved it all. We were dressed to impress so perhaps we were treated better than the folks who were dressed to distress, but seriously the service was superb. It is a very popular place so there can be a wait even at the slow time of day, so adjust your expectations.
K. F.
We visited the bar on Thursday pre theatre for a drink for my birthday. The bar was very busy even in the late afternoon. We were seated in the museum for the bar & got to learn a bit about the history of the bar & the famous cocktail waiters etc before heading into the bar which was nice. The service was impeccable as you would expect & you really got a sense of the history of the bar. I almost felt like I was back in the 30's. On the recommendation of the waiter we tried the Pinstripe a cocktail invented for David Bowie. It sounded a bit out there with Vodka, grapefruit juice & Lavender oil but OMG it tasted amazing. It was so skilfully mixed & the flavours balanced so well that it just worked. I think it takes some skill & I'm now in ore of the talented staff. Was a real treat of an experience & thank you for having us
L. R.
The drinks are well worth the price tag! The staff were welcoming and the drinks were great! The decor has been done tastefully and the 1950's themed American aesthetic really shows from the moment you step in there!
K. G.
Guess what? This is a great date venue. Not surprises there really. The American Bar is the oldest cocktail bar in London - and probably one of the poshest. The staff are as lovely and discreet as you would expect and the cocktails are really rather good too. Yes, it's pricey, but you're paying for beautifully dark surroundings, a tinkling piano and a general feeling of immense satisfaction with the world. It's worth it.
H. F.
Pricey cocktails (£16-20 each) but good and they come with all the fanfare you might expect. The description took about 5 minutes and the menu was too long for my liking, but it is an iconic venue that's worth a visit. Be sure to book as it is hard to get in otherwise!
B. A. M.
Best cocktail bar In the world? It is one of the best, for sure. The drinks here are designed and presented, with specific props and glassware to match the theme and story the drink is trying to convey. It's like drink modeling / cocktail high fashion. And they were doing this long before Instagram. American Bar is a temple of cocktails in the world's true capital, and it's an homage to American movies and jazz. Borderline tacky, but very special and exclusive at the same time. A must visit. Dress up and go at least once in your life.
L.
Top-notch hotel bar. Always a jazz pianist playing and singing, superb service, amazing cocktails. Pricey but classic cocktails affordable at £16-£20. I have never booked and always found a table for two, even on Saturday evenings. Make sure to be dressed well.
A. B.
A legendary bar, to be sure. These days, perhaps not the most innovative or most interesting. The perfect formal service has been done better in Tokyo, while the jazz is fairly ordinary and the signature drinks are competent and interesting rather than spectacular.
A very good bar which suffers from the burden of carrying the “best in the world” badge.
J. B.
Honestly the birthplace of many modern cocktails but just as honestly an expensive joint to grab one or more. Having said that it is a classic with world class service and innovative cocktails. High marks all around if you accept it for what it is. Holy cocktail ground.
E. B.
Fantastic drinks in a beautiful, historic bar. It's like being transported back in time - I could almost imagine Ava or Katherine walking through the door. For cocktails, try the Googly. Service was attentive without being obtrusive. Expensive, but worth every penny.
T. D.
One of the world's best cocktail bars and it shows. Effortless and brilliant. You are likely to feel underdressed if you aren't completely immaculate however, so dress for a ludicrously expensive but delightful drink on one of the classiest places in London. Perhaps after lunch at Casper's..?!
S. H.
Steeped in history and oozing charm, this is one of my absolute favourite bars in London.
There's a dazzling array of cocktails mixed with impeccable finesse; from house classics, through contemporary concoctions, to one that costs five grand (yes £5000)! So choose wisely and enjoy.
The staff are faultless and the pianist plays at just the right volume to spare your blushes as you clatter up the stairs on the way out.
While it's certainly 'of an era' it's not like stepping back in time. It's actually timeless.
A. K.
Very unique cocktails, albeit very very expensive. Great experience, courteous staff, and very unique drinks to choose from. Each have meaning to it. Very high class and perfect for a date or with friends.
z.
Great place. It is pricey - cheapest cocktail is $ 16, but to get a good one is around £22-25. However, the atmosphere is splendid - there is love jazz music, it isn't crowded and the interior is old school. Service is impecable - the waiter was pleasent, knowledgeble and polite. No, it's not a place you'd be able to frequent, unless you carry around bags of money. But it is well worth it for a special occasion.
R. U.
Deep inside this iconic building is the American bar. Ridiculously overpriced but for that you get quality service. Free nibbles which are rather tasty and if you are lucky live music from the pianist. Thier is a small pre bar before you are allowed into the American so if it's busy first stop here. Guests of the hotel get priority access to this bar..which means no waiting basically.
G. O.
Not what I expected - a bar where you queue to be seated and hotel guests have priority. A drinks menu that doesn't make it clear that you can order off the menu. I thought it was going to have a great atmosphere but was actually pretty boring. Staff, drinks and olives were excellent as would be expected. I would not go again.
N. H.
The drinks are very good and well made, great balance of flavour and quality ingredients as you would expect. Not cheap but worth it for when you want a proper cocktail. Atmosphere was fantastic such a nice vibe with professional but cheery staff and a live pianist, plus just the right lighting.
T. T.
Best cocktail bar in the world. Very expensive but 4 of you can share a bottle of house champagne at £65 and people watch. To find the American Bar turn left as you enter The Savoy, Hotel go up a small flight of steps and there you are.
J. I. M.
Greates Bar I have ever been to. It is indeed expensive considering regular drinks are around 20£ but it is totally worth it. It has a large variety of cocktails all of which seem really elaborate and are made with high quality ingredientes. Awesome!
M. S.
London's oldest and probably swankiest cocktail bar. There's a live pianist seven days a week, playing classic American Jazz, perfect accompaniment for some classic cocktails. Service is excellent (as you would expect from The Savoy), the staff well versed with the cocktails - even those not on the menu, and always ready with advice on choosing cocktails. Yes it's expensive - but you're surrounded by history.
NB: I recommend the Old Fashioned and Corpse Reviver No. 2 (Churchill's "breakfast drink").
D. L.
A great place for a classic cocktail. Pricey, £15 or so per drink but certainly worth it for a special occasion. They operate a no reservations policy so you need to queue at peak hours, usually just as the theatres are emptying. But while you wait you can look at the little museum next to the bar. It has a constantly changing display of objects, pictures and artefacts associated with the bar and hotel's famous guests, from Fred & Ginger, to Marilyn, Churchill, Dylan and Monet along with dozens more. The Savoy are the only London hotel to have a museum and they even employ a full-time archivist to look after it.
j. h.
An experience, of sorts. Though you are paying for the name really as could be any upmarket hotel. Most cocktails around £30 mark, though you can spend a lot more. Staff were great.
L. K.
The service is top-notch and the drinks are excellent. I really liked the themes for the drinks. Our waiter gave excellent recommendations and spent time explaining how they went about deciding on their drink choices. Really cool atmosphere and live music.
S. R.
Go back in time for a decadent treat. Everything is perfect. 1930’s era music helps transport you to another era.
S. M.
It's ironic that a place called the America Bar has a cocktail menu based on historic London. Drinks are well-crafted but pricey, thought the plush dimly-lit lounge area, comfy armchairs, and resident pianist make it all worthwhile... if you want to spoil yourself.
J.
Great music and service. Had the tea and cupcake for 10 pounds!
H. H.
Very nice hotel bar. Doesn't come cheap but the cocktails are great, service is superb and the piano player was very good too. If you consider the quality of the service and the drinks it's more then worth the price. Will definitely go back.
C. D.
We came here for a bit of a treat. Cheapest cocktail on the menu is £18 so not something I would do every week! Was very lovely tho. Lots of attention to detail as you might expect
D. N.
The atmosphere is terrific and although the drinks are quite pricey, it's more than worth it. I had a great time at this place but it's not your typical go-to bar.
J. C.
Really amazing place to go and experience the birthplace of so many iconic cocktails. The setting is cozy and the staff are superb. Just be aware that you may have to wait to get in.
B. K.
I really like the guy playing piano and singing. Live music is not too loud and thus not distracting at all, just making a perfect background. Cocktails are elegant and pretty strong as well (at least some of them). We were not amazed by the champagne-based ones but "Brandy Crusta" was delicious. Definitely worth visiting.
T. W.
The fanciest bar I've ever had a drink in.
F. B.
The server was extremely attentive even though he had several other tables. I ordered a drink but I didn't like it. He made 2 more drinks for me to try until I was satisfied. It was a fabulous experience!
J. H.
Of all the hotel bars I've been to in London, this has been my favourite to date. We went on a Monday evening when it was fairly quiet, but not completely deserted. We initially sat at a table, but finding it a bit too dark, and too close to the piano, we quickly moved to sit at the bar instead, which was much nicer. We got chatting to the bartender who, whilst busy mixing drinks for all the other customers in the bar, was very friendly and knowledgeable. After my first couple of drinks, and a bit of a chat, he offered to choose a cocktail for me based on what he'd inferred about my likes and dislikes. He made "the Argentina cocktail" which isn't on the menu, and I'd never heard of before, but was quite delicious and suited my taste extremely well. Whilst we were there we were joined at the bar by Manabu Otake, recent winner of Diageo's World Class Bartender competition, who was visiting London for a few days. I think the fact that arguably one of the world's best bartenders came here as the first port of call on his trip says a lot about the reputation of this bar. There's more or less a whole page in the menu devoted to cocktails that were either created here or have some association with the Savoy, and for cocktail enthusiasts a trip here is pretty much tantamount to a pilgrimage.
T. A. B.
This is a place every cocktail lover should visit in London. Compositions created by bartenders here has marked their place in cocktails history. Good place for relaxing after busy day. Only bad thing is that last call is before midnight.
E. K.
The drinks and the service here are top notch, even during off-peak hours. It is a little bit more expensive than the average bar in London, but I feel that the service, the atmosphere and the overall quality of the drinks here justify that.
L. A. R.
Very happy with my visit, the full staff is really nice and helpful. The head bartender Maxim is a real profesional mixologist, you can't expect less from an institution in London like this beautiful and classic American bar in the fancy Savoy hotel.
T. L. K. U.
Popped in here the other day for a drink on route to a show. Really nice service and drinks not too expensive given the location. Also saw a couple of celebs in the bar. Will definitely be back.
R. S.
I've been here one and a half times. The first time I came alone on a Friday night in nice slacks, jacket, Brooks Brothers shirt with french cuffs, and a bow tie. When I came up the stairs I got the feeling I had to pass muster to past the check stand. I asked if there was a seat at the bar. They checked, and I was in. I sat next to a couple nice ladies.
What a great experience to sit at one of the greatest bars in the history of cocktails! I have been to London a number of times, and coming here never entered my mind. A couple months back a co-worker from London was at the house and mentioned she took my boss to the American Bar and the nice time they had. I don't have a lot of cocktail books considering I have over 150 different alcohols in my home bar, and I'm pretty deep into cocktail culture. I specialize in pre-prohibition cocktails.I went over to the cabinet and said that even though I only have 8-10 cocktail books, I have the Savoy Cocktail Book. I knew then I'd have to come here on my next trip. That was just a few weeks later.
To shorten a longer story, I was talking to the bar tender and the subject of the Vesper came up. The lady next to me said she hadn't liked the Vesper she had tried. I said that the drink she had wouldn't have tasted like the original Ian Fleming described in 1953. All the ingredients had changed over the years. Most importantly the original called for Kina Lillet, not Lillet Blanc, and Kina Lillet hadn't been made in 40 years. At that point the bar tender walked over to the side of the bar and came back with a bottle of Kina Lillet that was 60 years old. WOW! He just said he could make an original. At that point, I said I knew if I had to ask the price, I couldn't afford it. Over then next while the bartender pulled a few treasures including a bottle of Bacardi from the 1920's when it was made in Cuba. The last shot was going to be £1,000. Then he pulled out a bottle of 1928 Canadian Club Whiskey. During Prohibition Al Capone controlled just about every bottle being made. It was a steal at £100 for a drink made with it. One of the ladies next to me said that it would be like drinking history. She ordered it. Then, she offered me a taste. What a treat. I tried to decline, but she insisted saying she wouldn't have known about it if I hadn't been talking to the bartender. I ended up with two wonderful tastes. It really was fantastic.
That, along with the initial cocktail I had created perhaps the best experience at a cocktail bar I've had. Initially, when asked what I wanted, I just said something with Gin as a primary alcohol and something not sweet. After a little back and forth, the bartender made me something he had created for himself to drink that fit the criteria. It was fantastic.
Now fast forward a couple months to the next half visit. I was with a coworker. I was wearing a nice shirt, the coworker had a polo shirt. We were in chino trousers. No jackets or ties. It as a Thursday night. We came to the entrance. We were told nothing was available for a few minutes and sent to the side room/bar. While there we saw several other nicer dressed couples walk right in. Then they came and got another couple from our side room also much better dressed. The only other people not let in were Americans in cargo shorts. It was obvious were not going to get in until there was nothing better around. We left and went to the Knights Bar at Simpsons. We were treated like royalty and had excellent drinks there.
Still, if you pass muster and get in. It's like living history.

Undoubtedly one of the best bars in the world. Wonderful signature drinks and lovely waiters. Enjoyed the evening a lot. Highly recommended!
D. L.
This bar is great. It’s like going back in time. You do feel like you’re in the 50s. Some drinks are very pricey but still worth going just for experience.
N. C.
One of the best bars in the world. Great cocktails and great people working there. Love to visit when I can save up enough!
A. S.
If you want flashy drinks, and plenty of them, this bar will suit you well. It doesn't quite have the grace you might expect of the Savoy, but the cocktails are delicious. If you can stomach the questionable musical aesthetic that leaves you feeling somewhat trapped in the scene change of a low-grade american soap opera, I would personally recommend coming here for nothing else but the Blushing Monarch cocktail. The nibbles though were sadly decidedly lacklustre. Their only redeeming quality was the speed and frequency of their arrival.

Superb! The place, the service, the atmosphere and of course the cocktails, everything was really good. Defenetly worth the time and money. We had a New York sour and a Boulevardier.
C. D.
Looks like a great bar must try it as I can't go abroad.
J. M.
Nothing special however it is iconic. I would recommend this place! The staff are professional and provide a good level of service. There is a good selection of beverages. The place is well located and worth a visit if you are in the area.
K. M.
We enjoyed having the chance to have a cocktail and Brandy in this lovely bar, but what let it down for me was the fact that I was charged wrong for one drink by £9 you need to check your bill before you pay.
Y. L.
Beautiful place where you feel like you are entering a whole new world! Drinks are bit pricey but reasonable with the decor and after all, it is London.
M. L.
Steeped in history, the discreet and elegant American Bar in the Savoy holds the title of London's Oldest Cocktail Bar. A stroll through the menu is to take a walk through history, featuring signature cocktails that were created by the bar's head bartenders over the ages. With a live jazz pianist every night, a cocktail here is the perfect accompaniment to an evening at one of the areas's nearby theaters - just think very carefully before ordering the Original Sazerac, at £5,000 a glass.
D. A.
Exactly as lovely and as expensive as you'd expect of The Savoy. Cocktails £25 a pop. A slice of lemon wrapped round a large Gold brick.
S. L.
Never expected such a hyped, well awarded bar to feel so great, cozy, friendly and chill. Brilliant service, great vibe and an absolute killer of a vesper martini.
S. P. O. D.
Excellent location, great food and wonderful service.
L. D.
Great place to celebrate a birthday, anniversary as staff very accommodating, drinks perfect, just sip in style.
Try the Sazerc £5000 a glass.....very sobering thought.
J. G.
The drinks are very expensive, so we thought we'd just try one to see what it was like. They were so surprising and delicious we had to have another! Will definitely go again just to try more from the menu.
M. D.
Unbelievable, have an old Fashioned boom 💥
E. M.
Fantastic service and huge amount of different cocktails. The drinks were delicious. A great experience, I would recommend to anyone.
J. D.
The ambiance is a little, um, stilted, replete with live person playing piano and singing in an inflected, copped crooner voice . . . . BUT, the drinks and staff are top-notch, definitely deserving of the top 50 in the world.
M. B.
The best, should still be at the top of the list. Best cocktails in London if not the world. Best staff, best live music, just the best...
K. A.
An institution, inside the Savoy hotel, with nightly talented piano player, well-made classic cocktails, and excellent service. Dark, classy, romantic. Perfect place to take a date for a nightcap.
C. W.
Great location, quiet, and excellent cocktails
M. G.
You get what you pay for but £60 per cocktail plus service charge is pretty heavy. Lovely setting and attentive staff.
J. A.
I don't need to tell you these guys are the best. That's kind of the idea, but it doesn't hurt I suppose. These guys are the best! Have visited several times during our Runewood Denmark adventures.
L. L.
Great service, relaxed atmosphere
T. S.
Used to be my favourite but a 25 minute wait for a table for one at 10 to 5 on a Thursday! One Aldwych becomes my favourite cocktail 🍹
K. L.

There was little atmosphere and it was a bit impersonal. Lots of rich people floating around and it was a bit sterile. Cocktails were nice though.

L. N.
A good cocktail bar with a casual and relaxing atmosphere. Friendly staff and nice music entertainment.
T. C.
Their service is impecable, waiters pleasent, knowledgeble and polite. No, it's not a place you'd be able to frequent, unless you carry around bags of money, but it is well worth it for a special occasion.
A. D.
Atmosphere, service, choice. Mouth watering cocktails, a few at eye watering prices.
H. P.
Great service and scrumptious cookies served with the teas and coffees.
Staff are very polite, considerate and accommodating
C. S.

The menu is almost as ridiculous as the one in the Langham! But they do make a very reasonable dry Martini
K. H.
Definitely an iconic bar! Worth a visit albeit looking a little tired decor wise!
M. P.
Fabulous cocktails and great company make for a lovely little drink.

Really beautiful place, perfect service, really nice cocktails. It worth the cost

unfortunately the bar looks like it belongs in a regular Premier Inn however the bar prices match the Savoy. Unlimited snacks, however quite poor quality.

(Translated) Elegant and ambitious environment, located inside one of the most renowned hotels in London, it offers its customers an excellent menu of sophisticated cocktails and sometimes complex in flavors and not suitable for the less experienced but with a certainly high quality.
Polite staff available and prepared to the questions asked.
My experience has not had any negative notes, so I recommend all drink lovers to invest an evening in visiting this world-famous place.

Best bar!

(Translated) This is such a proper classic bar in a classy hotel that essentially nothing to say.
It is expensive, but the quality of the cocktails is the highest. If something is wrong with the drink - change silently.
And it was here that the Green Park cocktail was invented: gin, basil, celery bitter, protein and fresh lemon. Favorite cocktail. Try it for sure))
(Original)

(Translated) They specially came to see this bar and try cocktails. I didn't like the bar at all, it feels like it needed renovation many years ago. The cocktails are absolutely average quality, not worth it to come for them, unless of course you live in this hotel.
(Original)

(Translated) I have been there twice and the atmosphere is very nice, the cocktails very original and unique. Beware of the price of cocktails that is high but justified by the reputation of the place. We had a worse service the second time and an error on the bill otherwise I would have 5 stars. (Note that the pianist starts playing at 18:30).

J’y suis déjà allée deux fois et l’atmosphère est très agréable, les cocktails très originaux et uniques. Attention aux prix des cocktails qui est élevé mais justifié de part la réputation du lieu.
