Reviews of Anchor Tap

Nice traditional pub with a warm welcome.
It was difficult to decide to walk in initially as I wasn’t sure what it was like as I was a solo female.
I walked into a warm welcome from the landlady Julie, and later in spoke to her daughter Jesse who also runs the pub. I felt very comfortable alone, and was joined by my friend who also enjoyed the Samuel smith pints. We met a few locals and were happy to find this hidden gem, the lack of music makes it easy to enjoy a chat.
The pub is a warren of rooms so you can always find a nook to hang with friends if you want a quiet chat.
Food is no longer served though due to covid.
Will be back

A nice and traditional London pub, right next to tourist spots. Staff was friendly and quick with our orders, also patient when we still had to make up our minds which drink we wanted to chose.
As we were really hungry we ordered food upstairs – and were surprised by the high quality of the food. Absolutely delicious.

Beautiful pub only a minute walk away from Tower Bridge reached after avoiding all the tourist traps on the way. Food was delicious, the place was homey and the service was lovely. A nice lady welcomed us and took our orders. Prices were also totally fair. English people (so not only tourists) were also eating here. Definitely recommend if you want to try some good local food without being ripped.

Lovely pub near Tower Bridge, with fantastic beers and the loveliest bar staff, keep up the good work ladies, would highly recommend.

Had a meal here a few weeks back. Found the chips weren't as crispy and the burger a little small but I thoroughly enjoyed the service and felt very very welcome

Amazing place with climate and delicious food, they have great selection of draft beer and the best Fish and chips I have ever had. Prices aren’t very expensive. I strongly recommend this place.

An almost perfect public house. Two cosy fires, low light, scumbled wainscotting, mahogany bar, secret rooms and partitioned serveries. local history prints framed on the walls, anaglypta ceilings and comfy wooden settles with characters on both sides of the bar.
One of very few remaining pubs where you might hear total strangers strike up a conversation in the public bar and become friends over a jar or two.
To walk into the Anchor Tap on a foggy night with the sound of the Thames lopping at Horseleydown Old Stairs and the yellow firelight playing on the widows is as close to stepping back in time as it gets, really.
No doubt the Guv'noress would say it could do with a spruce up but as too many London pubs which have had 'the modern treatment' will show - sometimes money is the enemy of authenticity.
If only they were allowed to play the Piano by 'the powers that be' I'd say it was un-improvable.
Great to see it open again.

Really nice pub!! Upstairs there is a quiet dinner area with a cosy and very christmassy atmosphere. The hunter's chicken would be my recommendation but the pie's are also a valid option. The service was very good. It lies just off the beaten track next to tower bridge. Would definetely go here again!

Great little pub with nice food and delicious organic lager. Inside it looks like in an old living room, it's got a pool table and a great beer garden with plenty of space and lots of food places nearby. Bit hidden from the main street and a 2min walk from Tower Bridge

Lovely little pub off the tourist trail, well worth a visit
