A most fine establishment close to the Old Street roundabout. Fine cold beer on keg and a couple of casks on too, with more on the way. The bar staff were wonderful, welcoming and just friendly, a lovely experience to be in served here. The Young ones, and Kenny Everett should be remembered along with Radio Caroline! A fine place to visit.

Visited the Angel after a visit to Moorfields. Made very welcome and found a comfortable table even though I was walking around on sticks. Enjoyed a few pints of Asahi. Great to see a traditional pub like this alive in the city with a committed team right now. Well worth a visit.

Really fancied the 21 crimes red, but there wasn’t a bottle opener in the entire pub. Bit odd, considering the type of venue - but regardless had a great time. Wonderful staff and ambiance is A+ i must say. Would have gotten 5 stars if there was a bottle opener

Good pub in a great location. Well kept beers and a very good selection of spirits. The staff turnover seems to have been high in the last two/three years yet they are always friendly. I like the corner aspect and natural lighting of this pub; particularly at lunch times when it is less busy. I have eaten here and the menu is far better than standard ‘pub grub’, but I’m not sure if the term ‘gastropub’ is warranted. Nevertheless, a very good choice in the Old Street / City Road area.

Nice pub in a lovely building. The food was good. It seemed like the girl at the bar would have preferred not to be asked about anything though. She was rushing us to take the order, not a very pleasant customer experience to be honest –therefore the 3 stars. The rest of the staff were nice and friendly.

We called in for lunch and there was a good range of food on the menu including sandwichs and the usual pub lunches, which was reasonably priced. There was a good drinks selection too, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. The restaurant is upstairs and accommodates a good number of people too. Suitable for groups and couples. Staff were very friendly and happy to help recommend options.

Nice pub near Old Street with a decent selection of drinks and ales. The staff here are super friendly and quick getting through orders when it's busy. We had food here and were a little disappointed, the sausages were a little undercooked and there was very little mash. The chicken was a little basic and looked quite unappetising. I'd definitely visit again but probably skip the food.

The staff here were incredible!!! It was 35° on the day we were here and they had the air con pumped! My partner's phone was almost dead and one of the bartenders used her own charger to charge it for us. Good priced drinks and chilled vibe. But mostly the staff made it for us, thank you!!

We hosted a party here, booking out the upstairs room. It is a fantastic venue - lovely space and easily accessible and for people and the staff were absolutely fantastic throughout. They put together some sharing platters which went down really well, allowed us to have our own music and didn't hurry us out of the bar at closing. Couldn't recommend this place highly enough.

A pleasant pub that has changed with the times. This used to be very busy booser, and a lot of the times drinking only at outside tables, and getting wet if raining. Although now more up market with a menu to match a gastropub label. Beer prices have risen dramatically. However it's still has its charm, and a decent pint of Peroni, and yet some of its magic is in the company I was with. ✅⚘

I've been to this pub today for lunch with my sister. The lunch was really good! However, we had to wait about 10 minutes to be serve as it was only one person behind the bar. We didn't pay it any mind until the staff ask another person to help serve as customers is waiting. Her replied was; sorry I'm on my break, you can do it yourself! I didn't saw her doing anything than just sat down and looking around. P.s the girl behind the bar was really polite though, she apologised for the wait and continue to serve. Staff should communicate better and support each other.

This is a real shame. The lack of staff training really showed tonight the young lady didn’t know how to make an aperol spritz along with the lack of knowlage to the wine list. Attention to detail needed on the floor in the lines of structure delagation. A great venue in the heart of old street There’s is no room for error. The Gm needs to pay more attention to what is happening. Other than that music on point and a lovely pub. ( Just honest feedback as the owner is the one loosing out)

What a great shame the renovation has been to this pub, it's been my local since 5th form in the 70s and it looked exactly the same for about 40 years . Menu looks rather lime the one at All bar one with me y identical items so this is by no means a gastro pub , staff are really not bothered about the old regulars . So while not a horrible pub itvjs now stripped of all it's old character.

I came here a few times for a drink and catch up with a friend after work. Great ales, but no food was served in the evening unfortunately :( I liked the spacious and cosy area upstairs. The staff was very nice, polite and efficient :)

Used to be better, still a nice place with good food and beer. There is an upstairs area with it's own bar and it's usually quieter up there so can be good if it's busy downstairs. The pub is a Pokéstop so usually pretty good for Pokémon go. It's in very close proximity to old street station so it's easy to get to. It's also very close to bunhill burial grounds which is a fantastic location for a bit of Pokémon go.

Was a nicer pub before the refurbishment. Nice to have a better range of drinks but staff now are very apathetic and their serving hygiene leaves a lot to be desired i.e. smoking outside and failing to wash their hands before serving, serving drinks with their hands on the rim of the glass.

Was a little tatty, but was recently taken over by the M&B crowd. Now it is a typical M&B pub, inoffensive, reasonable beer, and ok food. Due to the area it can get quite busy afterwork on a Thursday and Friday - empty on weekends.

Warm welcome from Jann, the manager, Exceptional burger lunch with a drink in the price! (Monday special) Posh pollo highly recommended, served fresh and actually hot not the all too common Luke warm, lovely fresh ingredients, avocado very nice touch melting cheese, crispy bacon….will defo be back to try different offerings!

Was quiet when there but.....such a nice place I felt like I was in the forth tavern on pink line in Newcastle. This is a place well with the visit, wine a little pricey but just right beer/cider/larger prices. If your in the area visit, also children can be in till 9pm.
