Reviews of Assembly House
A. M.
*review had gone missing* I have the photos from said review on my page. I visited here when I went to see stereophonics with my mum back on January 1st 2020.
We decided to grab some food before lining up, this place seemed quite nice.
We were greeted very nicely and sat.
I had the Korean fried chicken burger. It was phenomenal. I believe it was only £13.49? Which was a brilliant price.
Their menu has a extensive variety of food to choose from so it did take me a while to pick!
I would absolutely come back again in the future, hopefully very soon.
B. T.
The Assembly house is a true haven of empathy and welcoming smiles! Kate and her team are charming, professional but most of all they know what a pub is for … people.. like notera room and understanding! Kate you asked me for a review. The truth is ?? I’ll be back tomorrow! Thank you! Boris
Z. D.
Paige was awesome! She came and offered me a fresh strew for my drink because she was worried that it might be soggy! How amazing is she! Love her! She fabulous!
M. D.
Finding a true pub these days is gold but you got one here. However there are no shabby carpets or warm beer. There big window with light three screens of sport good choice of beer and real ales and the anagement an staff really bring it together, I gotta admit. Located in the heart of Kentish Town with a decent greene king menu u cant really go wrong at all. Oh an Paige behind the bar is an assett
C. K.
Despite it was a football night, the atmosphere was still quite chilled and the staff were brilliant at accomodating me when the kitchen was closed. Convenient location to catch the train and the large clear glass windows offers unobscured natural lighting to ponder and wonder whilst observing the World passes by.
O. D.
The staff make you feel so welcome,so at home. Competent, professional servers, with a wonderful dynamic amongst themselves and patrons alike. Management and supervision is top notch. It's my local, so I am bias, but it's my local for a reason!
S. A.
Had a great time with my husband, very welcoming staff and brilliant food, we will be back to try the Sunday roast!
H. M. O.
I booked a table throw the website 2 years ago to celebrate my birthday and nobody knew anything. I asked to speak with the manager and she told me that I should expect a confirmation with quite rude tone. I had a confirmation that said "We'll see you that day, just relax". Automatic answer from the system I guess....but the way that she treat me was awful. Thankfully we saw some people leaving and got the table by ourselves and the rest was good, I didn't she her around anymore and the other staff was kind.

Great pub
Great food
Great beers
10/10

Celebrated a birthday here. Part of the pub was a private hire. The staff catered to our needs and ensured that our food was served accordingly. Friendly staff fantastic service
S.
Generous portions with a friendly service.
It's great to have a local pub to watch matches on the big screen and to enjoy their tasty offerings.
Came back two weeks in a row just for the gravy!
B. C.
Lovley venue, one of my favourite places to visit when back in London, great staff and landlord is friendly and welcoming, had beyond meat burger and Godson had meat version, well cooked and tasty, highly recommended as other eatiers in Kentish Town over priced, but this delivers good service at a reasonable price
K. H.
Great pub, wonderful experience.. staff were amazing and welcoming, lovely experience will defo be back, kay and Orla are fantastic.
J. H.
Good range of drinks, and decent food. Not cheap, and alcohol can be served in plastic cups during sports events.
c. k.
Nice pub, good gins and some nice pub grub. Great location beside the train station for meeting friends
T. N.
Large spacious pub, with good dining options.a multitude of beers on tap, in bottles and a large selection of wines. As a Greene King pub the prices are competitive.
There is a big screen for sports and events.
S. D.
Decently priced beers, food was expensive.
Ordered the hotdog which was actually really good, just wish it didn’t cost an arm and a leg.
Service was good, but waited ages for the staff to pour a Guinness from the tap, was like watching paint dry up. The pub is massive inside and getting seats was easy, tv screens everywhere to watch the footie. Nice and convenient for a quick pint, just not as cheap as other pubs around the area.
J. S.
Great place for a Saturday night out watching football and boxing. A friendly and convivial clientèle made things even more enjoyable
C. M.
This is one of our favorite locals. The service is great, the people are super friendly and they have a very good beer selection. Perfect for an afternoon pint or watching a game. If you visit Kentish Town, it's a must!
A. S.
One of my favourite pubs in the area. Lovely choice of Belgian beers and very good pub grub. My only caveat is that sports get played fairly loud.
J. D.
One of the best pubs in Kentish Town, very friendly staff and some of the best pub food around. They are always welcoming and always a good start to a night out in Camden
D. M.
Beautiful pub.
Great for sport's and good beer
Very efficient staff especially
Beautiful Ellie! Great pub.
Great service
Denis moloney .
s. s.
Brilliant pub for watching football. Great food, excellent management and staff. I have been coming here for years and its a fantastic place to watch the Euros! Recommended.
C. Y.
Lovely staff, nice environment but basic food, no better than wetherspoons.
A. B.
Update Sept 18: the pulled duck fries (pretty good value at £4.29) come in a kebab shop-style bag, and have gravy (perfect if you’re a Northerner). Really it’s a poutine. Heartily recommend.
Review May 18: This pub has changed a lot over the last few years, but it’s a reliable place to watch football. Big projector screens, plenty of place to sit, and good beer on draught. Some nice independent pubs if you’re looking for a more unique vibe (try The Pineapple), but this is great for big game football.
A. L. S.
Great bar staff, gorgeous pub
m. p.
lovely pub, kay and paige are my favourites
A. B. (.
Always a pleasure to visit, good choice of drinks and friendly staff in an environment that is a cut above the usual plastic pubs. Recommended.
Under new management I am now told by the owner so all bets are off.
M.
Lovely pub beautiful building and good pints.thanks to the staff especially orla and Jay who were wonderful to us. Big thanks x
R. G.
Nice bar right next to the KT station. Good meeting point. Drinks are a bit pricey even for London.
m. b. n.
Top venue, great service, great food. One of my fav.
L. D. W.
Good selection of drinks, friendly staff and a great location.
I. M.
Spent a lovely Sunday here. Great food, lovely staff and nice beers.
M. D.
Good pub. Good beer. Busy with a great mixed crowd. Gets a load of people before The Forum puts on a show.
K. M.
Great food, prompt service except for the sass from one waitress (not naming any names/ELIZA). Will be going back.
B. B.
Love this place. Great burgers, good atmosphere and lovely staff
p. a.
Great vibe staff are friendly & efficient bar is really nice & kept clean nice choices of drinks & the food is super tasty yum would always recommend this place look forward to my next vist
L. C.
This is best pub ever!!!! The management is amazing and the staff are lovely
s. z.
Great pub right by the tube station. Lots of space with plenty of seating available at the back. Nice decor with big windows and plenty of light. The service is friendly and efficient and there are plenty of interesting draft beers and ales. It's a trendy spot and the atmosphere is lively, all you want from a great pub.
A. A.
Excellent place to be. Lovely staff, lovely beer, lovely bartenders.
A.
This is a really decent pub, the beers are always great, the food is good. And best of all they are able to show 2 different sports/games at different ends of the pub and one doesn't impact the atmosphere of the other. I always struggle to find places with England rugby games on when high profile football games are on during for example the 6 Nations, this place does both which is awesome.
M. R.
I'm only giving it four stars because I didn't try the food, but if the service and the atmosphere are anything to go by, I'm sure the food is great too!
D. C.
Such a great pub amazing staff Orla was especially friendly and helpful
F. U.
Really nice bar, great staff!
And great with traffic ✌🏼😎💯
M. W.
Evening of the boxing. Cheap drinks, nice vibe. Can't complain
W. H.
Friendly staff. Good selection of beers. Food looks good too. Much better than The Vine!!!!!
L. A.
Amazing pub, amazing staff!
D. W.
Food was awesome, ale was great and the staff are very friendly and welcoming
R. W.
Beer is good, food seemed OK. Be warned that their pies come with gravy unless you order a vegan pie. Because apparently vegan gravy is no t possible. Ah well. I'd drink there again but eat elsewhere.
N. S.
Good sized pub so even when it's busy you don't feel like you're in a tin of sardines. Good location. They ran out of a couple draft beers relatively early when I was there. Service is fine.
d. s.
Such a lovely pub and paige is a great host
M. L.
Visited while waiting for a gig to start at the o2 forum. The atmosphere was relaxed and drinks not to expensive.
The pub has sky sports and was displaying the game during my visit. Although I'm not a huge sports fan it was very nice to see that this was catered for. I did not eat here however the prices on the menu were fare and competitive with similar pubs.
m. c.
Kia amd Mia were attentive and so friendly
Thank you motherflowers!
K. P.
The food was appealing on the menu, but not on the plate. Taste wasn't great either. And I wasn't expecting a gastropub experience, just some decent pub food.
Too bad, the place is well located and looks really nice. Drinks were fine, service was friendly.
I. M.
Best sports style bar in Kentish Town area with lots of space, friendly staff, a wide range of beers on draft, and located within stumbling distance of the tube and a kebab shop.
L. S. (.
Right next to Kentish Town tube, the Assembly house is a nice old corner pub.
I met some friends there for a couple of drinks one evening and it was a good spot to do so.
The first pint wasn't particularly fresh or enjoyable, I never leave a beer but I had to leave this one. Although the second pint of Camden Pale was much better.
Probably one to go to if you love sports, they have a big screen and a couple of smaller ones.
The decor is quite nice though, comfortable.
N. W.
This place used to be distinctly average but now it's difficult to fault the place. It's a popular pub but it's a massive pub so you'll always find a spot to park yourself. The keg and cask selection is very strong, particularly the keg side of it and although I didn't sample the food it looked pretty good.
T. R.
Always good service and great food
B. H.
Decent pub with good prices. Came on St Paddy’s day so it was a bit busy. Ordered London hot dog (hot dog and chip) and was good tho a bit pricey for a pub (£10). Lack of napkins and leftover plates/glasses from previous customers were scattered - though this could be because it was busy. Good stop before for pre-drinks or in our case before heading to the O2 Forum as it’s right next to Kentish Town underground station.
K.
£4.55 for a Guinness, definitely a thumbs up from me, cheapest in the area. Personally could do without the sports on the big screen and the twatty football types on a weekend but otherwise nicely decorated and great for a day drink, cheers 🍻
O. B.
I had best time with my Croatian boyfriend there, I’m Italian so pizza wasn’t in question, burgers matter
A. L. S.
Great pub food. Good for watching sports too.
M. D.
Great place for people watching. Bit understaffed though
T. H.
Came here today with my family for food, it was delicious! service was amazing! We will definitely be back soon
A.
Hard to avoid on any visit to Kentish Town. The Assembly House manages to offer plenty of seating space, while still retaining a cozy feel. I'd attribute this to the subtle smell of spices that's sneakily diffused through the air of the pub. Great beer selection, that includes several rotating craft beer taps. Should you be a fan of sport, you'll be able to catch games on several large screens positioned in every room.
s. a.
The food and the atmosphere here is amazing, the staff are all so friendly and helpful i would definitely recommend it here and i will be coming back
L.
Really great pub, nice atmosphere and good selection of beers. Can get busy on a friday night but good looking girls. Only problem is Jamie Loughran keeps sticking his fingers up his bum then wipes them on peoples lips.
C. T.
Went there to watch England during World Cup. Pints are a good range and very reasonably priced for the area, I think £4.10ish if I remember correctly. I was also served very quickly considering the pub was rammed, atmosphere was good, location was good, decor was good.
M. C.
One of the pubs in Kentish Town High street and super close to the tube station. High ceilings and a lot of space with a massive bar in the centre, serving the different areas of the pub. Many screens for watching live sports. Local crowd goes here. Decent selection of beers.
S. S.
Dissapointed that 4 of the 5 hand pumps were off and the 5th served cider not beer (not that I don't like real cider, just was hoping for a real ale). Settled for keg Beavertown Neck Oil, which is always nice if a little predictable. Relaxed atmosphere and friendly bar staff.
d. h.
Serves beer. A wide selection of beer. The Kentish Town Station local and O2 Forum pre-pint pub.
M. L.
Mostly friendly staff; I asked for the key to the accessible toilet - a member of staff obliged however the manner in which she did made me feel like I'd asked her to steal the crown jewels on my behalf. Food was good value for money & tasty although I'm not sure peas were at home in my cheese & ham toastie.
A. S.
Could this be the most gorgeous pub in Kentish Town? The Assembly House doesn't give much away from the outside, but inside it's all high ceilings, baroque wallpaper and lovely prints. It should look like a car boot sale gone wrong, but the effect is really cosy. Well-priced drinks and plenty of seating makes it really tough to leave this pub. I haven't eaten here, but the food menu looked very enticing too.
R. S.
Big thanks to the staff in the Assembly House today. Their Covid provisions were brilliant: quick and easy track-and-trace registration on entry (I didn't book), super-clean environment and table service via an app. I couldn't have felt safer!
L. K.
Lovely pub, very high ceilings and has a bit of charm about it. Good tap beer selection, I started in Japan and ended in Brooklyn! The staff are efficient and friendly, the drinks are a little above average London prices but it is right across from the tube station and close to The Forum so I would recommend it as a place to come for pre or post drinks. We came across some fun characters to chat and to share our nachos with - the place generally has a very friendly, easy going vibe about it.
R. C.
Great pub with some nice food. Wide selection of drinks and a couple screens for your favourite sporting events. It's not too busy despite being across from the station. Would definitely recommend.
m. s.
Large pub with central bar, distinct areas throughout including large screen for live football. Part of the greatly improved Kentish Town pub scene, with a small but decent range of cask ales. Can get very busy, particularly when a big game is on the screen
J. H.
When I first came here about 10 years ago I was impressed with the high ceiling, the sunroof at the back, and the etched glass, and on afternoon visits at weekends it had a quiet and pleasant atmosphere.
It has since been through a refurb or two, and although they've kept the etched glass, the rest of the interior has become increasingly modernised to the point it has lost its charm for me. That, coupled with the fact it often has large screens playing football, and the crowds of football fans that attracts, means it's no longer a pub for me.
L. W.
I love the Assembly House. Kentish Town has several great pubs - and the Assembly House is a spacious, brightly lit, lively one. There's usually something going on at the Forum nearby so time your visit carefully or you'll be swamped before/after. The Assembly House also runs sports so if that's not your cup of tea, now you know! Kentish Town is a bit lively sometimes and you might encounter the occasional person who doesn't know about personal space and boundaries - but you're not alone. Staff are friendly and the food is good too.
D. G.
Big pub next to Kentish Town tube, nothing special, just a straightforward decent boozer that is busy, but because of its size doesn't tend to get like sardines, which good place to meet. Good service. Average London prices.
R. S.
Excellent staff. Excellent service. Thank you all.
B. G.
Huge pub with huge windows, it must be awesome in there when the sun shines cos it did for a while when we were there on friday and it was lije a sauna but lovely and airy. Different beers etc and worth a visit.
G. M.
Had a very dissapointing first time here a couple weeks ago but had phone call from manager who invited us back for a meal on him which I must say was alot better food and service kids were alot happier this time and thoroughly enjoyed there meal and after manager explained the problems they had at the time we understood completely why it was not such a great experience first time, but we r glad we came back to give it another try
E.
Cool pub with pleasant decor. Went there to watch the football and have some beers. Plenty of cold beers on tap to enjoy. Check out the glass roof section.
A. A.
helpful staff, nice place, good music and reasonable prices! I'll definitely come back!!!
A. P.
Only been here once, but it's a very good pub. Good beer selection, plenty of seating and the pub itself is huge! I'll be back for sure
t. g.
Well worth nipping in if only for a slurp n to check out the interior
R. M.
situated by kentish Town the assembly rooms is a big pub that does good trade from visitors to the Forum up the road.
catering for a wide range of people even when t is busy i have always been able to find a seat and meet friends
The food is good if not outstanding. but it always satisfies. a great place to meet before hitting the forum
J. S.
Lovely & usually quiet pub. Good food & drinks, friendly staff. Looks like a small place from the outside but is actually big with plenty of seating.
S. W.
Food and atmosphere are amazing here can't be best best of Kentish town
D. D.
Great for watching footy games - 3 BIG screens! Good selection of beers, standard pub food, but can be overly crowded at times (when a gig is on at the Forum or for big footy games)
C. M.
The Assembly House is a really nice venue in kentish town and the decor is great. I'd recommend drinking here rather than eating. The food is average but I wouldn't visit the assembly rooms just for the food. They've had live music in here when I have visited a few times which has been a nice addition and there's a good atmosphere here on Friday evenings (...and the rest of the weekend I expect).
S. B.
Lovely pub, excellent location, generous beer offer and great staff, but the toilets downstairs were a downer: smelly and not as clean as one would hope to be. However, we'll likely be back giving the location.
A. S.
it's another local great for football so perfect know the seasons started good beer great people maybe not the best for tourists as very football based this time of the year cant reccomend the food never eaten there but well worth a look
S. V.
Nice pub, friendly staff, good beer selection and a nice food menu, they show football, can get quite busy on Friday's and big football games, so a bit of a queue to get served, but staff seem quite efficient, so never waiting too long.
E. M.
Solid and reasonably priced. Staff good too and of few pubs that are still good to watch football in. Can attract a rough crowd and food could be better but all in all one of the better pubs in the area.
M. H.
Good beer and frendly staff what more could you ask for
R. P.
Nice place. The ale/ beer was good. The food was pub grub, funtional & plentiful. The prices are okay. London beer prices of course.
C. C.
Lovely old bar, close to the tube. High ceilings a classy feel to the place with a hipster vibe on gig nights. Large windows for people watching 😀
Q. I.
Excellent Pulled Pork and tasty Truman Ale on Cask hand pump. A bit dark but it adds to the atmosphere of a 19th century style pub. Cheeper for pint than compared to Euston area. £3.50 for a pint compared to £4.70 in Euston area. My bar staff was friendly. It's a Thusday Evening.
M. L.
Great staff great atmosphere definitely coming back soon.
S. L.
Large and loud boozer that attracts a local crowd - not as much personality as some other pubs in the area but a good place to go with a group or if you want to avoid the tourists of Camden.
N. P.
Nice decor and a great place to watch football. I really liked the high ceilings and detailed patterns. Good vibe that suits the look and feel. Staff were friendly.
A. K.
Good pub great atmosphere good customer service good quality food and drinks great staff value for money thanks.
G. S.
Great corner pub next to Kentish town tube station. When I visit london I often stay in kentish town and this is the first visit when off the train. Great for meeting friends in a relaxed pub atmosphere with good good and beer.
j. b.
Brilliant venue to watch the six nations rugby, great selection of beers and ales, with very tasty pub grub! Excellent customer service from the staff.
R. C.
Large pub with good character. Has a selection of events and happenings in the evenings. Standard drinks selection, but a good place to sip a pint
J. J. S.
If I had to design an ideal pub it would look a lot like this. Large with lots of natural light but still cosy. Great food, relaxed and with live jazz on Sunday afternoons.
G. G.
I went there a few times and I felt comfortable with the choice of beers and with the environment. The place is very big so it's OK even if it is really busy
W. T.
Nice pub, friendly people and staff. Great location for pre drinks before Gig across the road at the Forum.
M. T.
Cool pub to watch the football, but only for evening kick offs you can't see the screens during the day if it's sunny.
A. L.
Looks smaller from the outside, it is actually very cozy and big. Three rooms and three screens, shows football matches and serves food. Just a minute walk from Kentish town station.
A. J.
Good spot to watch football :)
l. b.
Nice pub that is like a tardis from the front. There is a massive amount of space to the rear. Nice choice of lagers and ales, and the Gindex is a nice touch.
g. h.
The assemble pub is a nice spacious airy pub,but the toilets are extremely smelling. The service is very slow, althou the pub wasn't busy and four staff behind the bar,I had to wait a long time to get served. The staff wer standing behind the bar chatting to each other and ignoring the customers.Very unfriendly and rude staff. It took a long time for a member of staff to clean a table of four people who had food and left. Its the staff or manager that has let this pub down.!!
M. W.
V ery nice place and friendly. The only downside was that it was 9.30 and they stopped serving food.Somebody kindly offered me their spare apple turnover thoughts not so bad :-)
D. P.
Good for drinks, staff are accommodating and nice. I would avoid the food though, very poor quality.
J. M.
It is a nice pub with a good selection of beers, the food is usual ok pub food. The atmosphere is nice with big rooms and helpful staff.
S.
Love this pub. Great staff. Good food and drinks. Another favourite greene king pub.
P.
Popular with the pre-gig crowd heading to the nearby Forum. The pub is a large, pleasantly decorated place. Good selection of drinks.
E. P.
Huge space with three maxi screens for sporting events; the inside is chilled and the staff is very friendly ^_^
H. E.
Really simple no frills boozer and great selection of proper beer. Ale is cask conditioned and well kept ambiance welcoming a good spot for a decent session
M. L.
Very cosy place, reminds me of gradma's house, with sofas, bookshelves, old lamps, ... It also has a beautiful cupola on top of it. Try out the Sizzeling Fajitas, so tasty! Fully recommend this place!
T. F.
Great pub with nice selection of beers and spiritsBeautiful interior and staff are very friendly.
J. E.
Large pub with lots of bookable seating for sports..three big screens and a good selection of beer and gins
M. K.
They got the Big Wave tropical IPA. I'd come all the way just for that. The food here also excellent
G. P.
I usually go here for a drink with friends and to take part to the pub quiz. The building is awesome but it makes you feel small in an empty place (not staff fault!). GO FOR IT!!
S. D.
Good tap beers, can be a nice place to start your night for a drink and after 10pm on a Friday you can dance! Nice environment!
E. C.
Neck oil and Asahi on tap.
G. W.
What a lovely venue. Cracking team.
K. D.
Really lovely huge pub. Be prepared to pay approx a fiver for a pint. Music on a Monday night was fantastic!
R. S.
Spacious historic pub with good beer. Good is not bad but the service can be a bit slow
D. H.
Nice large venue with lots of character and helpful staff we booked an area and unlike some venues they actually saved a good sized part so again 10/10
B. M.
A good place for organised functions such as retirement and leaving parties. Friendly bar staff and a wide and varied tasty buffet was provided.
F. U.
Nice pub near Kentish town station
F. L.
Spacious pub with a decent selection of beers, located conveniently close to Kentish Town tube station.
L. G.
Beautiful place and very nice Camden Beer!
A. D.
Nice bar
W. K.
Best pub in Kentish town. Nice staff and plenty of tables. Also nice roof, and man I love a good roof.
L. M.
Amazing staff lovely decor brilliant atmosphere
D. W.
Good place to meet up with friends who are unfamiliar with the area as it's easy to spot and right next to the station. Large venue with reasonable-ish prices.
F. W.
Good pub. Efficient and friendly staff. Handy for music venues and the underground
s. D.
Spacious pub with good seating for larger groups. Fantastic bloody marys and a good selection of other drinks,
P. W.
Absolutely loved the decor lots of ideas for home pin board! Loved the history of the place being where the horses were bathed of old -smashing place
E. P.
Good place for drinks with friends. Decent menu but can be quite loud on match days
C. L.
Superb pub, good choice of beers and good screens for sport.
P. M.
Great food and very fine selection of cask ales. Lacks a beer garden.
N. L.

A. D.
My local pub! Always a pleasure
P. S.
Excellent service in this pub. Well worth a look if you are passing
W. R.
Good atmosphere lots of seating and reasonable selection of beers and ales.
A. C.
Good food, good beer, slightly expensive, but it is in Camden after all.
M. J.
Easily the best railway station pub I've been to
R. L.
Beautiful building but standard pub. The toilets aren't often clean.
D. d. V.
Much, much better since the refurbishment!
Edit: food still ropey but a good pub for pre gig refreshments.
j. h.
Great selection of beers, good food. Speedy service even when busy.
M. B.
Nice pub, shows the football and near to the tube. Gets the sun in the evenings.
K.
Good selection of beers, great vibe. Close to the station and the O2 Forum venue.
C. B.
Those toilets!!!! 😬 But great to hear a refurb is on the way and can't wait to smell them afresh!
I. T.
Decent boozer in Kentish Town. Good option before going to the Forum. Huge screens for sport

Came here for the Kentish Cluster meetup and was surprised because the place is better inside than when you are just looking at it from the outside. A fine looking Victorian pub, with high ceilings, baroque wall paper and lovely etched glass. Spacious, clean and ample seating capacity for large groups. Well priced drinks and food. Highly recommended.
