Reviews of Balham Bowls Club

Great place. Really nice atmosphere with very nice staff. We had lunch and the food was great. The mulled wine was a must. I had the Moving mountains (I think it was called) vegan burger and it was really good. Vegan mayo also provided. Would definitely go again.

Balham Bowls Club, as the name suggests is located in the former bowls club of the same name located on a quiet side street just off Balham High Road. The fact that many of the furnishings have been retained from its previous life have been kept gives it an eclectic feel. Walls are lined with trophies and memorabilia, while the furniture is higgledy piggledy. There is a good selection of beers and alcoholic drinks. The kitchen is open every day except Monday for bar food. Sundays is popular for Sunday roasts. Sport is shown but it is not the main focus. The best thing about the club, apart from its friendly staff, is that it attracts a wide mix of locals of all age ranges.

Went there for Sunday roast, the pork roast was very good but we weren’t impressed with the lamb. The trimmings were nice but not the best. The service was quite poor though. We weren’t asked if we wanted water and there was a bottle of tap water from the next table on ours.
They didn’t come take our order for ages and the waiters seemed not to be paying much attention to other tables either and making mistakes.

Love the decor in here.
Delicious Sunday Roast and they have Blue Moon on tap 💙 Nice staff
Decent prices too, would recommend.

Fantastic roast, great quality, good value compared to others in the area. Genuine, lovely staff. Love this place!

Nice gastropub with a good selection of beers. Good service, menu could be more expansive but what we ate was good quality

A pleasant old established pub and club with several rooms, front and rear beer gardens and a huge function room on the first floor.
The club is a very friendly British club complete with pub and traditional British food known for its Sunday roast.
Plenty of seating throughout both indoors and outdoors.

Proper good pub. Nice beer and very reasonable price for London. Brill beer garden, lots of doggos which is always good. Never been until today, I shall be going back next time I'm in Balham.

Very busy with good atmosphere, friendly staff and quick bar service. Does Aspall's cider and also has two veggie/vegan options on the menu. About a 5 minute walk from Balham station.
